Time for A Change

If you haven't heard the news, then I'll be the one will let you know that Tumblr has plan to... team up with OpenAI and Midjourney. What this means is that they will give content to help train their AI programs... And if you know me, then you know that I absolutely hate that they're resorting to this.

It's no surprise that it's come to this; Tumblr's not especially an art website, but it doesn't change that I'm not happy about this.

They've added a feature to help opt-out of AI scraping, and I've already done so. However, I'm taking the words with a grain of salt.

The majority of my old work is staying: most of its fan art and done in my old crappy art style anyway. Still, if I find out they got processed through AI, I will be livid. I will never give permission to that sort of thing

For the future, I won't be posting my art on Tumblr as much any more. Instead I'll be posting it on NewGrounds, and I'm considering a site called Inkblot.

I'm not going to be officially leaving Tumblr (there's still a lot of interesting stuff on here), and I might post a fan art or two if I find it extremely interesting. Of course, they're going to be put through Nightshade and Glaze, which are programs that are to help protect us from AI.

It's been a fun six years... I can only hope it'll get better, but I won't hold on to it.

This was her first day out in the young-dog harness. She’s finally big enough for it.

He was totally cool about it.

So was Edgeworth; she settled back down and relaxed.

I like to socialize my dogs by taking them out and teaching them that life is full of different things that can be noted and ignored.

“Exposure” is probably a better word than “socialize,” because we’re not being social. We’re being politely reserved and sipping tea on a patio.

just got back from a long weekend away with friends and I can't stress this enough: if you live with or around people you care about, do not take for granted how healing it can be to just sit with a friend and share a blanket. to sit and watch irreverent clips on youtube. to make each other food. these are massive touchstones that I personally don't get with my friends that often because we all live so far apart right now. don't take it for granted. try and make it happen as often as you can.

in the last few days I've had more comical petty disagreements that ended with statements like, "I love that you're willing to go to war about this," which leads to someone just cracking up. because your fandom opinions are not that serious when you're also making each other food and sharing toothpaste and take out the trash together. so what if you didn't like The Diner episode of Sandman? I still need you to hold the lid of the bin open so I can toss these onion peels. we'll watch something else together later.

the important part is to enjoy each other. I'm behind on all my shows. I have a rasp from talking over the TV and eating way too much jambalaya and drinking sparkling wine. I am very tired after a 12 hour drive. I truly, genuinely don't care. because I got to spend time with my friends.

Muzzles: They’re awesome, and I think all dogs should be acclimated to wearing one.

This is Edgeworth’s first day and first attempt. I put peanut butter on the inside of it, and let her natural curiosity take over.

Let the dog associate wearing the muzzle with treats, and get them used to wearing it before you need it.

I muzzle-break all my dogs while they’re young. It makes life easier for everyone.
