Elephant Love Medley - Aaron C. Finley and Oyoyo Joi
September 6, 2023 matinee
I feel like i neglect my singular mr broadway experience but it unfortunately just has a lot working against it outside of the performance itself (which i loved btw! so glad to have seen finley and oyoyo!!). between the tour being the first production i saw, getting to see it with my friends and getting to meet the cast and watch some of them leaving it's hard to not feel like particularly attached!
but again i loved getting to see it on broadway (even if my seat was too far back in the orchestra to actually see the swing come down!!! but it was a lotto ticket so what can you do) getting to see the things they had to adjust/take out of the show in order to tour was really neat. I'd really love to see it again on broadway (and like i'm 2 away from number 10 and only one if you count my upcoming tour performance)

I JUST SAW MY FIRST BROADWAY SHOW EVER
IT WAS MOULIN ROUGE AND IT WAS AMAZING
derek klena was out tonight but the alternate was aaron c finley and he was INCREDIBLE
he rly captured the awkwardness and naiveté of christian that i feel like often gets overlooked in the stage version
jojo levesque was wonderful! after watching bootlegs of ashley loren i wasnt sure anyone could live up to my preconceptions but she was absolutely spectacular.
also ricky rojas was HILARIOUS i love him 😭
anyways best day ever im so happy aldjfslgaslkghkdslg

Casting Goals: Ragtime
This took me MONTHS!!!! I had literally scheduled this post and then decided I was going to post it early, but upon re-looking at the cast list I said “You can do better Paul” so I reverted it to a draft and removed about 10 people which then led to shuffling some people around and then casting new people. Throughout the entire process the only definite people that were in this entire process where Stephanie J. Block, Terrence Mann, Michael Luwoye, Brittney Johnson and Katrina Lenk. Everybody else was changing constantly!!
