CHATEAU RB
Despite decades of vacancy, this beautiful castle, surrounded by park and forest, is in surprisingly good condition. It seems that renovation work was started at some point, but it has been at a standstill for some time. The chateau contains virtually no traces of destruction or vandalism, but has been naturally affected by the ravages of time.

Information about the building is extremely scarce. The chateau was built at the end of the 18th century by a French man of letters, co-founder of an academy of letters in a nearby town. He maintained, among other things, a correspondence with Voltaire. His manuscripts and correspondence have unfortunately been lost.

French Style Chateau
You can find the full video walkthrough of this mega mansion here!!
youtube
Let's begin this brand new location by taking a look at the two story room that housed the indoor olympic size swimming pool, along with the aeratone bath!!
This mansion was built in 1985 on two lots in The Bridle Path neighbourhood of Toronto, Canada and was designed to resemble a French style chateau. The 30,000 square foot mega mansion had 10 bedrooms and 14 bathrooms, and was located on a huge four acre property that also included a tennis court. It also had a granite cobblestone driveway, a horseshoe staircase at the back and extensive gardens which completed the experience of living in a castle in France.
Originally built by Robert Campeau a financier and real estate developer. Robert began his career by building just one single house in 1949 in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. His company then known as Campeau Corp was also responsible for building Scotia Plaza, a hi rise built in 1988 in the financial district of Toronto, as well as the Harbour Castle Hotel in 1975. In the 80s, Campeau began a series of leveraged buyouts of companies, both in Canada and the United States. The final company was Federated Department Stores, the owners of Bloomingdale's for $7 billion. This was the beginning of the end for Campeau Corp, as they filed for Bankruptcy in 1990, one of the largest in history. Robert was forced to sell the home in 1990.
The home was purchased in 2002 by Harold and Sara Springer who entrusted architect Gordon Ridgely, interior designer Brian Gluckstein, and landscape architect Ronald Holbrook to bring their vision to life. They brought in 17th century antique furniture from france, original royal academy paintings, Italian marble and even crystal chandeliers.
Other features of the large house included a two-story indoor Olympic-size swimming pool with a retractable floor that converts into a ballroom. It also had an elevator, an oak wood bar, recording studio and even its very own bomb shelter!
The mansion has been featured in several movies including Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen's 'It Takes Two', 'Kissinger and Nixon', 'That Old Feeling' as well as most recently in an episode of Suits. A party was also held for Jane Fonda in the two-storey ballroom, which was then disassembled overnight so that Campeau could swim in the pool the next day with Pierre Elliott Trudeau.
The Springer's listed the chateau for sale including all of its contents starting in 2014 for $25 million and was last publicly listed in 2018 for $39,500,000. Finally, the home was purchased by Nascond Holdings in 2020 for $30.8 million.
Nascond Holdings is a company owned by the Muzzo Group which is a well known development company in the area. Marco Muzzo caused a drunk driving crash that killed four people and seriously injured two others. It was a very high profile incident several years ago, because of his ties to such a wealthy family. There was also a guest list of people found in the home including Marco's name as the host of the party.
The mansion was demolished shortly after my visit in August of 2022. Not much happened after that until more recently when some activity began to happen on the property. Ferris Rafauli who was also behind Drake's Bridle Path Mansion, is the designer and builder behind the new mansion that will take shape in the coming years.

Honestly my headcanoning for The Cursing of Chateau Castle lore continues cooking in my brain like I got more for it but it's all in the microwave for now. Like I got a whole ass storyline for Pierre and Lady Irene. With how hardcore hc-ing I am bout these characters, it makes it seem like they're my OCs but no they're like-- my half-children I think? isat is the other parent of course. I got nothing else to go off of in regards to the chateau trio but the small crumbs and a dream.
#aria rants#like bout pierre's home life being The Worst ever. and like the internal monologue he'd have after sacrificing their castle#imagine going through all that ordeal. joining the supposed ''heroes' party'' and then betraying The Hero aka josephandre#all for your own family to recognize you as being worthy of being a part of the family. so that you can be recognized as a noble#but in the end it wasnt enough. he wasnt happy. in the end pierre was happiest with josephandre and the others so he#went around. turned their back on the ppl he has spent majority of their life proving their own worth to go back and save#the first genuine friend he ever had in ages and the cost of that being the very castle they wanted to be a part of#so in the end. he never got to actually be called ''lord'' he didnt have a place in the family. he lost the castle#but thats fine anyway cuz he found a home with josephandre and the others BUT THEN!!! he apparently got into a near-death#experience like how horrible is that??? to have your title stripped away from you from birth and then abandon the#one chance and opportunity to have that title for the sake of saving your friend and realizing that it'd be better to just be#with them instead but before that moment can even sink in well enough-- YOU'RE NOW ON THE EDGE OF DEATH!#yea pierre is turning out to be my fave character from like-- that mentions of them betraying the party and then#sacrificing their own castle to save josephandre and then the fate of them possibly dying near the end of the series#like that guy went THROUGH IT. not as much as josephandre but he really did just went through it and im like-- out here#using my brain power to the maximum in filling in the blanks cuz i got attached to 3 characters with only a name and#some information. i got some more in regards to lady irene and josephandre too btw like-- this is for you mirabelle#im spreading the cursing of chateau castle propaganda as best as i can with the crumbs im given

Can We Turn Our Crumbling Kitchen Into a Dream Space? | Our French Chateau
unfortunately i find your ads off your personal brand, for someone who claimed to have enough money to retire comfortably, so when you keep plugging stuff or asking for feral cat spaying I can't help but feel ick..like some sort of shopping channel for shopaholics. I'm seriously grossed out by everyone who does that. I'm phasing you all out tbh

CHAPELIER FOU
The castle and adjacent farm were founded in the early 1630s by a scion of a noble family. The estate then extended over more than 500 hectares. The lord of the castle, a count, marquis and - in this village - a baron, was a well-known soldier during the Spanish Netherlands. He lived in the castle with his family until his death in 1655.

The lord's military background is still very prominent today in the armory with remarkable stucco decorations, representing military trophies, as well as plant and floral motifs.

The castle is divided into two parts: the central part built by the count, consisting of a large living space formed by a long volume of ten bays. Later the two classic side wings were added at both ends. In the middle of the facade there is a monumental portico with a flattened spherical roof. On the tympanum the coats of arms of the counts, carved in sandstone, are still visible.

The castle has been left behind many years ago. To this day it is still filled with antique furniture and artefacts.

Unfortunately a lot has been stolen too...
