finally reached the final stretch of ac valhalla. usually once I reach almost 100 hours on a game, I would've almost 100% it. not this time, I need to play shorter games next time

also is it wrong I don't really get or give a fuck about the whole Layla and Basim and apparently apocalypse?? thing, I don't get it at all, I probably should play other AC to understand but ehh I don't wanna play another heavily padded game so soon

Seriously though, every time BioWare tries to hype up the gameplay for Dragon Age: The Veilguard with new footage of it, I sink even further into disgust. I literally cringed my way through watching that mage gameplay today from IGN. It looks horrifically bloated, overly complicated, and yet somehow bland. I've said before and I'll say it again: It's as if they decided to take the worst of Mass Effect (a series with combat I already loathe to its core) and the worst of AC: Valhalla, and made some horrible grotesque monster from them.

I just hope to god it's not long before someone comes up with a 'skip combat' mod, because I will be first in line to use it.

At least otherwise, it looks great.

Ok so I have had an idea. This is a bit of reference to the ratatouille au continuation of Desmond being able to hear us in the animus servers. So picture this, after a while of us talking to Desmond checking up on him and the others. Someone the group chat somehow makes a mod that gives the players (us) avatars to pilot in the servers for a short amount of time, but instead of the bodies being human they're just random animals from mise to crows to hawks and eagles. So here kinda how I think this would go. So all the ancestors are asleep or resting in the servers, meanwhile the person who made the mod adds it into the server and there's a bit of commotion as the person tells everyone else, and so the players get to work making the avatars. Then morning comes around, Desmond and the others wake up and see this excessive about of rodents just gathered around everyone. After a moment of panic and shock for our dear assassins and templars they come to find out that now the voices "inside" Desmond's head are now here ready to try And cause some havack.

Alright, confession time. When I was writing for the voices, my brain immediately to the ‘chat windows’ that popped up in Omniscient Reader’s Viewpoint and in The Perks Of Being An S Class Heroine.

Then I thought, you know what would be funny? If it was like an actual chatbox with our preferred avatar kinda like this:

To make this stranger, all the avatar are like stock photos of animals and plants. This way, when their avatar finally comes to form, Desmond will be surrounded by various animals.

What happens to the ones who chose plant avatars?

My initial idea was that they would be floating plants like a leaf or a flower just floating in the air.

But then I realized…

We’re crazy enough to band together and create a ‘strange’ unique flower crown to put on Desmond’s head.

The ones that transformed into animals would go “That’s not fair! Why do you guys get to be that close to Desmond?!”

“Plant ftw, bitches!!!” A dandelion of all things would shout out, accidentally blowing itself up and floating away from Desmond, “Fuck!”

A second passed and the dandelion glitches out of existence.

Only to glitch back into the (technically floating) flower crown on Desmond’s head.

“Hey, guys, did you know it cost 1000 Helix to respawn? Fucking Ubi████.”

For those who don’t care about Ubisoft’s monetization scams (as you should), 1000 Helix is more or less $10 and they don’t sell 1000 Helix, they sell the small pack for $9.99 and it gives 1050 Helix. For reference, AC Valhalla’s complete sets (full armor + 2 weapons + mount and raven skin) usually cost around 1500 Helix.

So yeah… even though the ‘players’ have spawned in Desmond’s world, they are still haunted by monetization. (This does mean Desmond has gotten himself an immortal army of plants and animals)

A little update, I dunno if you're familiar with it, but I accidentally stumbled my way into starting the Falskaar mod questline, so I've not done too much in regards to the rest of the main game atm.

I've been enjoying it well enough, but there's some decisions in it that has me sitting there thinking "Why are we letting this guy talk to us like this? My character wouldn't stand for his blatant disrespect and threatening of her friend and the town he runs, she'd cut him down before he could become any more of a problem than he already is."

And sure, I get it, video games (and especially mods) are there primarily to tell the story their creators want to tell. But as the leader of the Companions, my girl would do everything in her power to get the rest of them over there and kick this guy's ass and put his small army to the blade.

I looked up this mod as I'm not familiar with it and don't mod much, especially not new areas and quests. Just a personal preference, found too many "lore-friendly mods" to very much not be lore friendly. But I totally relate to this. Being forced into decisions or really unlikeable characters and not being able to disagree with them can kill the vibe. Especially in an rp, make your own character game like Skyrim. Elder Scrolls fans are famous for liking choices and options.

One game I enjoyed was AC: Valhalla, I didn't like it as much as Odyssey (I do enjoy the newer rp AC games, I am simple :P) but I liked the setting, there was some cool stuff with the blend of Anglo-Saxon, Dane, and Norse culture that I especially enjoyed. But, I never ended up finishing the game because a core character, Sigurd, is an absolute insufferable asshole and the only way to get the 'good' ending is to put up with his shit. And despite being a core character it always felt like he didn't actually matter to the story?

Maybe I should have just said fuck the good ending, punch him and seduce his wife haha

Honestly, I love the outfit Kass rocks up in AC Valhalla, but what if she rocked up in a more time-period-accurate look. Like a Byzantine warrior's outfit.

Something akin to this:

Gold and red are really her colors anyway.

There is an armor that is themed after 9th-century Byzantine armor in Valhalla that I used mods to put on Kassandra. I need to get more shots of her with both the red cape and the armor together but here are two shots. I just really want her in Byzantine armor, okay?
