New Story that I might post on AO3
Alright, so I've been thinking long and hard about this one story I wrote back in 2014 (that is according to Google Docs) and I kinda want to get back into writing it.
The plan was to have most of the chapters completed and post them once a week. But life got in the way and I think the planning was becoming too much. This includes being pat of a specific fandom at the time and doing more writing there than anything.
The idea came from watching too many episodes of Power Rangers, reading the Kingdom Keepers series, reading a lot of Disney fan fiction, and watching a lot of playthroughs of Kingdom Hearts.
The basic idea was to include characters from the Disney Parks, film, television, and Disney history/lore. Each park had a character who represented the Disney World parks and each character would be paired up with a teenager (or adult which is something I might change them to). The basic structure of each chapter would be like an television episode where the characters would face challenges whether it be with themselves, others, or something else.
Did I forget to mention they would be fighting the forces of the Disney villains?
Yea, that's something they would also be doing. Along with making sure normal people don't find out that the characters are real(ish).
Below is the Prologue if you want to read it. All Criticism is allowed.
To say magic has only one form would be wrong. There are hundreds, possibly thousands of forms of magic: wands, staffs, incantations, potions, verbal and nonverbal just to name a few.
These ways were used in medieval times when magic was strongly believed in. A time before modern science and technology. Over time people stopped believing in magic and that it never existed. It became a memory of the past. A legend of high disbelief.
However, there was one man who brought magic back to the people of the world. He did this through his animated films, theme parks, characters, and a simple mouse. This man’s name was Walter “Walt” Elias Disney. He brought the magic to the people with some of his own. It was called Imaginative Magic.
It all began with Disney’s first animated short with sound ‘Steamboat Willie’ in 1928 starring none other than Mickey Mouse. A character who would bring in a new era of believers. After that moment, Disney developed more animated shorts and films starring characters such as Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Goofy, Donald Duck, and Daisy Duck or known as the Sensational Six. His animated films began to include heroes, princesses, and villains. In the process of making his films, he realized something. The characters he and his animators were producing were coming to life. Characters such as the Sensational Six, Pinocchio, Alice, Snow White, The Evil Queen, and Cinderella. He figured this would happen because of his animated films' magic and power on children and adults.
There was, however, one character he created during Fantasia that was like the devil itself. It terrified everyone who worked on the film, including Walt Disney himself. The characters with good magic such as the Blue Fairy and the Fairy Godmother tried to warn him of the consequences of making such a being. It didn't work.
Another new character from Fantasia in 1940, Yensid, tried to warn his creator what the end results and the risks of the devilish character. He was producing the greatest evil ever created for a film.
~In Walt’s Private Studio~
“Walt, if Chernabog turns on you and the other animators? What will you do then?” Yensid asked, his deep wise-filled voice laced with worry.
Walt smiled at the sorcerer, “It’s all under control my friend. The animators and I have a plan.” He was about to say more until the door opened to reveal none other than Mickey Mouse dressed in his red Sorcerer’s Apprentice outfit and brown shoes.
“Walt, Yensid is right. If this evil gets out, people will slowly figure out that every character in your movies comes to life.”
Their warnings went unheard as he simply replied, “I have a plan.”

Years later Walt and his animators created yet another evil. The so-called Mistress of Evil Maleficent from Sleeping Beauty in 1959. Her power was just as sinister as Chernabog's, maybe even more powerful. But once again, Disney did not listen to those of good magic. Even the three good fairies, Flora, Fauna, and Merryweather, whose character designs were completed, told him how dangerous it was to complete Maleficent's design and character knowing she would become real.
He gave the three the same answer he gave Yensid and Mickey nineteen years prior, “I have a plan.”

And a plan he did have. That plan was Disneyland when it opened in 1959. A place where children and adults can enjoy the characters and the attractions based on animated films. It was also a place where the characters could roam free instead of spending time in the studio. Everyone enjoyed this. Even the villains. Everyone had their own place in the park. They were happy at first until Disneyland became too crowded for the characters.
He then laid his eyes on a piece of land in Florida. Months later he decided to create another park grander and possibly better than the first. It was to be called the Magic Kingdom. But as he and the Imagineers built the park, more films came out with more heroes, innocent animals, and children. Unfortunately, Walt Disney didn't get to see his dream finished. When Walt died all the characters mourned his death in 1966.
The Magic Kingdom was finished, filled with new and old attractions.
Then came EPCOT, or Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow, an idea Walt had while building the Magic Kingdom in 1982. After that, MGM Studios was built with inspiration from the Golden age of Hollywood in 1989. Animal Kingdom was the last to be built as a way to encourage conservation and environmental protection in 1998.
The final name for these four parks was Walt Disney World after the mastermind himself. As the theme parks in Florida were being built, the animators kept making more movies and animated shorts. They made sure Walt’s legacy lived on with more heroes, princesses, animals, and villains. And most of all more magic. They made sure to also protect the good magic that stayed alive during the year while the villains had to endure it during the day. They could only really be evil when it was Halloween or when the Parks closed.
Now it is 2021 and the villains are tired of the goody-two-shoes attitude of the heroes, princesses, and animals. They wanted to rise up and take away any chance of good magic. Take away the heroes. Take away the princesses. And most of all, take away the belief in the Imaginative Magic Walt Disney established long ago. They were tired of the special parades, shows, nighttime parades, and firework shows the Imagineers gave the others instead of them. They wanted to revolt and they knew who was going to be their leader. Maleficent.
