Been a while I put up an acro post, so I decided to do a mini session with my friend @sylvortex , and this by far is my favorite picture, because honestly it was the hardest pose to execute. Every yogi knows the effort it takes to go into a #pincha much do that having a full grown human on your back.. After series of falling down and getting back up, we finally did it! To be honest we almost gave up on this pose, but we decided to try one last time and voila! That was our break through.. This proves to show that you are stronger than you think; Regardless of how many times you think you've failed, don't give up! Task Versus Connection-Oriented Relationships The difference between connection-oriented relationships and task-oriented relationships is extremely apparent in AcroYoga. We always try to strike a balance between the two in order to truly soar. When challenge arises, our drishti (focal points) can easily and unknowingly shift to tunnel vision—much like trying to hold your breath when driving through a tunnel. The world is temporarily suspended until we reach our destination. One is fully task-oriented when the only thing that matters is the skill. Both meaning and a sense of accomplishment are found upon completion of an objective. While it’s an incredible source of motivation when working solo, it doesn’t always translate into partnership, whether that task is on your mat or in your daily life. Being connection-focused requires an ability to be present with others. For many, this is much easier said than done. Think back to the last time you ran into someone you haven’t seen in a long time. Even though you may have had a million other things to do at that exact moment, that quick hello turned into a hours-long deep and meaningful. While you may have fallen behind on the rest of your day, the satisfaction of reestablishing a secure connection still brings a smile to your face. In comparing the two, it may seem that being connection-focused sounds more friendly and positive than task-oriented. Much like the relationships they serve, these states of participation are not black and white. It is essential to strike a balance between both sides—not just with your partner, within yourself as well! Some of the biggest issues that come up in relationships, regardless of the gender make up of the people involved are of course : trust, commitment, communication, and vulnerability. These are some of the hardest challenges to overcome because the give and take is so intangible. Once you get into the habit of second guessing your partner it is almost impossible to break it. Not only because we have our own issues we are trying to figure out but it is nearly impossible to know what is going on with the other person as well. Even when we try couples therapy it can just lead to the same cyclic conversations and lead us to know where. Our words can ignite emotions that make it difficult to hear what is is being said and make us reactionary as we have learned, the highest form of communication is touch. Acroyoga teaches you to make quick decisions. Proprioception, or the awareness of your body moving through space, takes practice. AcroYoga trains you to master self-control without rigidly attaching to external circumstances, because anything can shift and knock you off your center. You will fine-tune your ability to skillfully adapt to change as it arises, while maintaining serenity and not losing your cool, which is what causes you to bail too quickly. How can two people build a trusting relationship? How can a couple restore trust that’s been lost? One way to do this is AcroYoga.  Trust is at the core of every relationship. Relationships built on trust are empowered and empowering. Without trust, unhealthy emotional patterns work their way to the surface and cause conflict. The word “acro” stems from the Greek root “high,” and “yoga” means “union” in Sanskrit. Combined, acroyoga bridges the high flying of acrobatics with the wisdom and harmony of yoga. AcroYoga (also referred to as Partner Yoga) requires at least two people: the “flyer” and the “base,” and ideally a third (known as a “spotter”) for trickier poses. To feel AcroYoga in its most exalted expression, partners have to trust one another, having faith that the base has the strength to hold the flyer while the flyer carefully follows the base’s words and cues. While AcroYoga may seem like it’s only for the daring at heart, there are plenty of accessible poses for beginners that help build trust. Throne pose How To Do: The base lies on the floor on his back with the knees bent and soles facing upwards towards the sky. Maintain shoulder-width distance between the feet. The flyer stands in front of the base at the feet. Place the soles of the base on the upper thighs of the flyer and press the length of the foot upwards. The tips of the toes must touch the lower rib cage of the flyer. Now, the base holds the hands of the flyer and straightens his knees, lifting the flyer into the air. Take the help of a spotter and make the flyer bend her knees and wrap it around the front of the base’s legs. Now, the flyer should lift her torso and let go of the hands of the base. The flyer should now wrap her feet around the calf muscles of the base. The base’s feet should be placed on the mid thighs of the flyer.
