Rashida Tlaib is an excellent Congress Woman. Supporting Rashida Tlaib and politicians like her brings us closer to a Democratic Socialist United States with Medicare for All, No Medical Debt, No Student Loan Debt, and Free Public College. Rashida Tlaib is a Palestinian. She is one of the few Congress People speaking up for the Palestinians and condemning the genocide in Gaza. Also. Rashida Tlaib has been incredibly supportive of LGBTQIA+ People. Support Rashida Tlaib. She is one of the few decent USAmerican Politicians.

Billionaire nutcase Peter Thiel could not buy a US Senate seat in purple state Arizona for his extremist protege Blake Masters. Incumbent Democrat Mark Kelly won by 5.7% – thanks, in part, to small contributions made directly to his campaign and to progressive PACs supporting him.
Re-electing Raphael Warnock in the December 6th Georgia runoff will give Democrats a 51 to 49 majority in the Senate. With the House in GOP hands, this runoff is vital.
There are many good reasons to re-elect Raphael Warnock. He’s one of the smartest US senators while his Trumpster opponent Herschel Walker would be the absolute dumbest if elected.
If you have voting age friends or family in Georgia, this would be an excellent time to contact them to ask what their voting plans are. When they know that their votes matter to you, they are more likely to vote.
Runoff - Warnock for Georgia

University Kristallnacht
Aloha kākou. American Poison Ivy League Universities have become IslamoNazi Institutions of Jewish hatred. This loathing against Jews and the United States has been incubating for years. Far-Left Marxist tenured professors embedded in universities have been proselytizing antisemitism and anti-Americanism sentiment openly for years. Ever wonder why young people leave home for college and come home…

It'd be funny if it weren't so infuriating. The professional managerial class is trying to coopt any effort to build an independent workers party. I thought that the PMC would go after the Railway Workers Union, but they went after Kshama Sawant instead--first by ignoring Workers Strike Back, then by getting Nina Turner to prop an astroturfed Act Blue organization that takes corporate money. Not to mention, class traitor Ryan Grim--who had his ass handed to him by Sawant last year--was all too happy to prop up WAS.
The second part concerns Sara Nelson. Last year at a union conference, the Association of Flight Attendants leader rebuffed a rank and file union member's call to create a new workers party with a nonsensical statement. There are rumors that Ms. Nelson is planning to run for office as a Democrat. If so, that will explain her unwillingness to break with the duopoly.

Donald Trump Arraignment Judge Under Scrutiny

Donald Trump Arraignment Judge Under Scrutiny
Tumblr media
New York (The Times Groupe) – Former U.S. Donald Trump’s hush money case in New York is being scrutinized by Judge Juan Merchan over a $35 payment he made to Biden’s administration. BIDEN
The information had raised questions about Merchan’s impartiality as he has come under attack by the former president as a “Trump-hating judge.”
According to reports, the New York Judge donated $15 to Joe Biden’s presidential campaign as part of his donations to Democrats in 2020.
Elie Honig, a CNN legal analyst and former federal prosecutor, explained the significance of the revelation.
“While the amounts here are minimal, it’s surprising that a sitting judge would make political donations of any size to a partisan candidate or cause,” Honig said.
In July 2020, Merchan donated three times through ActBlue, an internet fundraising tool for Democrat candidates and causes.
The judge had been made $15 to the Biden campaign and two other $10 donations, one to the Progressive Turnout Project, a group that encourages voter turnout, and the other to Stop Republicans, a group that is affiliated with the Progressive Turnout Project.
According to Stephen Gillers, a professor of legal ethics at New York University, New York has adopted language from the American Bar Association Model Code of Judicial Conduct that forbids judges from “soliciting funds for, paying an assessment to, or making a contribution to a political organization or candidate.”
“The contribution to Biden and possibly the one to ‘Stop Republicans’ would be forbidden unless there is some other explanation that would allow them,” Gillers said.
According to the professor, given the minimal sums, the donations “would be viewed as trivial.” He claimed that the state’s Commission on Judicial Conduct would remind the judge of the guidelines in the event of a complaint.
As a result, allies of the former president are urging the judge to recuse himself from the case as a result of the contributions.

I just gave to Adam Frisch! https://secure.actblue.com/donate/adam-for-colorado-twitter
- Why, this late? Because some ballots have issues, and in Colorado they allow voters to correct mistakes to ensure their vote counts. Frisch needs  to get the word out and make sure all voters check their ballots.

High engagement
We have to start planning for the 2022 midterm elections. So far, it seems Democratic engagement with the election is running high. How that will translate into voting turnout is hard to say, but let’s keep this sort of pressure on. WinRed, of course, was created specifically as a counter to ActBlue, which has been so successful in raising small dollar donations for Democratic candidates. WinRed…

The day after Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg died, Democratic donors poured more than $30 million into Democratic campaigns and groups through ActBlue, shattering its own one-day fundraising records.
In the 23 hours after POLITICO reported a draft Supreme Court opinion that would overturn Roe v. Wade, ActBlue took in just $9 million — just a small uptick from the days prior.
The modest totals, which reached $12 million by midnight on Tuesday, based on a POLITICO analysis of the ActBlue donation tracker, are an early sign that Democrats can’t count on abortion to single-handedly turn around a midterm cycle that’s already trending badly for them. Interviews with more than a dozen Democratic pollsters and strategists Tuesday detailed a scramble within the party to parse how the seismic disclosure might affect base enthusiasm and reshape messaging ahead of the midterms — now that a theoretical threat has become real.
One Democratic pollster, granted anonymity to discuss the issue candidly, acknowledged that the issue “will help at the margins,” but “to hold the House or Senate, we need inflation to go away.”
It’s also opening up a debate within the party about how much to lean into abortion as an animating message for the base, rather than focusing primarily on cost of living and job growth.
“Midterm voters care about affordability first and foremost, and they are not people who are worried every single day about losing access to abortion,” said Julie Roginsky, a Democratic strategist who began her career as a researcher at the abortion rights group EMILY’s List. “My fear continues to be that sometimes we as Democrats run on things that we wish the voters cared about, rather than what the voters do care about.”
One problem for Democrats seeking to capitalize on the potential demise of Roe is that so much of the party’s base resides in heavily Democratic states where abortion is protected — and where Democrats were already moving to enact more stringent protections.
In California, Gov. Gavin Newsom and state legislative leaders announced they were proposing a state constitutional amendment to enshrine abortion rights. But that’s California.
In more competitive states, recent history suggests voter intensity around the Supreme Court may do little for Democrats. In last year’s gubernatorial election in Virginia, Democrat Terry McAuliffe focused heavily on abortion, after the Supreme Court allowed a Texas law banning abortion after six weeks of pregnancy to take effect.
But his prediction that abortion would be a “huge motivator for individuals to come out and vote” fell flat. Among the small proportion of voters who listed abortion as their most important issue, a majority voted for the Republican, Glenn Youngkin, according to exit polls.
The fury over Roe may turn out Democratic-leaning voters, giving the party a path to addressing its “enthusiasm gap” problem, which has plagued them in recent months. David Axelrod, the former adviser to Barack Obama, pointed to a finding in a January CNN poll that 58 percent of Democrats under 45 would be angry about the court overturning Roe.
“If they act on that anger by voting, it could make a difference in some close races,” Axelrod said in an email, calling the political dynamics surrounding the draft opinion “uncharted waters.”
The disclosure of the draft opinion also changed the timing of the Roe debate, potentially with negative consequences for Democrats. Even before the draft was reported, Democrats bullish on the political effects of Roe being overturned feared a June release of the decision might come too soon to help them in November. The disclosure pushed the Democratic outrage earlier in the calendar, with six months before the elections.
One Democratic strategist said Tuesday that it’s possible a court ruling against Roe will “light a fire under” their voters; Democrats “haven’t seen abortion as a working message for quite some time.”
The strategist added: “I just don’t see how this isn’t a bloodbath for Dems.”

Okay, so I was re-reading your Slider one-shot for like the twentieth time, and what really struck me (beyond the brilliance of your writing, and the way you’ve presented the disillusionment of growing up, expecting the world to be a certain way, only to realize that life doesn’t quite work out the way you think it will, when you’re seventeen), is the casual sexism just tossed ‘round by our main characters!! :o We have canonical evidence of both Ice and Mav being pretty sexist (what with “the plaque for the alternates is in the ladies’ room” and the downright stalker-ish behavior exhibited by Mav at the O-club…), but it still surprised me a lil’ when twenty-y/o Ice was just like: “The Soviet Union did the impossible and taught women to drive” —and I realized that ah, he truly was born in 1959, or something. There’s little scenes throughout your story where I find myself wondering, which one of them is better, in this sense: When Ice tells Mav that Sarah isn’t talking to him ‘cause of his combat kills, justifies it by saying: “You know how women are”, and Mav tells him all women aren’t the same… I thought that maybe, it was Mav; but then later, Ice shows a distinctive amount of empathy for Juno, sees and respects her for the skilled pilot that she is… and I thought that maybe, it’s Ice after all—he does seem to be more progressive and accepting than Mav, in general? It also made me wonder, that if either of them had been a woman, would they even have respected the other person enough to consider them to be a rival??—or would it have a been a mildly-amusing circus side show for them, to have a female pilot at TOPGUN?
Ty for the ask anon!! ice is more socially progressive than mav yes.
Tumblr media
But—maybe this is my experience growing up in one of the bluest counties in Commiefornia and then going to one of the most leftist-coded colleges in one of the most leftist-coded cities in The World; uhh, even if a white man votes D all the time & has professional respect for women/minorities to their faces etc, get him in a room with a bunch of other white men, especially in a masculine and competitive environment like the gym or the navy, and uh. progressive or not, what you get is a lot of “The Soviet Union did the impossible & taught women to drive.”
And it was the 1980s. (As a reminder, in top gun’s 1986, less than 45% of Americans even approved of interracial marriage.) It sucks to say it, but if Ice was making fun of Cougar for quitting the navy cause of his psych issues such as they may be, and openly calling bullshit on Maverick’s MiG story in front of everyone, I am quite confident in saying he Would Not respect a female pilot to her face—if they were the same rank. At the same rank, it’s a competition. All weaknesses, even perceived biological ones, are to be exploited and called to attention. —But, once he’s advanced in rank, proven his own superiority, he’s more inclined to favor a meritocratic “sex doesn’t matter just fly good” attitude, ergo his relationship w/ “Juno” (she’s just a literary symbol to show that Ice may have respect for other minorities in the Navy “your career speaks for itself” but NOT FOR HIMSELF as a closeted man). This “who cares about gender/race just fly good” attitude is probably where 50s+ Maverick lands too, which is why no issues with Phoenix.
but jesus GOD maverick is a sexist in the original Top Gun. That’s why I wrote the prologue to WWGATTAI—a part of me definitely believes both he and Ice are definitively queer, but a part of me also wonders, are they just also conditioned to dismiss women as intellectual/societal equals because of their time in the 1980s male-dominated Navy? CAN they really only have a truly equal relationship with another man? I have no idea what my Ice’s sexual orientation is for exactly this reason. Yes, he’s functionally gay by the end of it, and that’s what I keep calling him—but sexuality is fluid & complicated. It’s definitely more-than possible he’s mostly straight and it’s just the circumstances of his wildly intense trauma-bond relationship with Maverick that led to their relationship as I wrote it. If you don’t LIKE/understand/respect women, and only feel at home/excited by committing acts of male-typified violence with the few men you respect, how does that bend your definition of the word straight? ...its still straight, but only straight-ish!
not to take it a step further, but WHY ELSE is canon maverick single in TGM? he canonically can’t make it work with women until he retires from the navy!!! he doesnt know how!!! His military environment is not conducive to normal long-term relationships with civilian women!!!
#and it’s well well documented that career military service does this to you!#Jesus look at cops. 40% etc.#yeah mil/LEO relationships with women are historically quite bad.#if you only respect men & then a man comes onto you—might be easier to sustain that relationship than with a woman you do not respect#I forget where i read it but this is the element of the homosocial vs the homosexual. i want to say Foucault but I think thats incorrect#EVE KOSOFSKY SEDGWICK. from her 'between men: English literature & male homosocial desire.' I think she's the preeminent homosocial scholar#if ur interested in 'further reading' not to sound like a geek#fellas is it gay to like women#after all…women kiss men…so if u kiss a woman ur kissing something that’s kissed another man…gay#ice (mid-makeout): well mavericks kissed women before so really this is the most heterosexual thing i could do#anyway#pete maverick mitchell#tom iceman kazansky#top gun#top gun maverick#icemav#asks#edts notes#mav is a social libertarian live & let live & keep the govt out of my bedroom (except for my marriage license uwu)#ice is a social moderate liberal. donates to actblue firmly believes diversity is the militarys greatest strength etc.#(i hope this isn’t too provocative to say but) look at ices outfit in tgm. libcoded. those gay little round glasses? solid lib.#the interracial marriage stat is from Gallup btw; 94% in 2021. weve come a long way. a lot has changed since 1986.#but our fav characters are FROM 1986 too so... we still cant forget that

The Justice Democrats are under threat by AIPAC (a far-right, pro-Israel group). As the USA and its citizens struggle, AIPAC is busying spending millions to unseat progressive candidates who value Palestinian Lives. The Justice Democrats have many people of colour in their ranks. The Justice Democrats fight to achieve medicare for all, tuition-free college, and a 100% renewable energy economy (aka things that the USA desperately needs). AIPAC seeks to dismantle and destroy truly progressive candidates. AIPAC's control over our politics is ridiculous and unjust. We must band together and pushback against AIPAC.

the only support center for trans people in the state of arkansas has been vandalized, and the vandals took the fucking pipes. the fucking PIPES. if you can donate anything, please do.
Cashapp: $Transcoins
Venmo: @intransitive
ActBlue (donation website): here
i cannot express how much intransitive really does for us. they are there for any trans person in arkansas. with all of the recent barrages against trans rights, they're needed more than ever.
on top of this, they're trying to help 8 trans asylum seekers with time sensitive immigration cases, and they deal with emergency situations for trans folks all over the state. hell, they even made a community garden and jail bonds. if you can give anything, please do.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
ID: Instagram slides that say "We've been vandalized again. This is the 5th time, but the worst time. The pipes have been completely taken from the ground up. The center will be closed until further notice. Since 2022 we've faced multiple instances of vandalism, police harassment and threats against the center and staff. It's disheartening and frustrating to be hit again with vandalism to our pipes, forcing us to close the Center until the issue can be fixed. Help us boost this post! Cashapp: $Transcoins Venmo: @intransitive /end ID
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
ID: Instagram slides that say "Update on Pipes being vandalized again. We've used our line of credit to pay for repairs to the pipes. It's not ideal, but it's crucial for us to remain open so we can continue supporting our community. We'll continue figuring out ways to raise funds and security. We're incredibly thankful for the donations, the words of support, and the folks who have reached out ready to help.
To the folks asking why we don't go to the police: 1) We've experienced harassment from local law enforcement at the center. 2) We've experienced physical violence from local law enforcement during protests. 3) Trans people of color are 6x more likely to experience violence when interacting with police. 4) We are abolitionist.
We still need support on: 1) Fundraising to pay the line of credit for fixing the pipes. 2) Fundraising for a security system. 3) Support from trusted people with experience on surveillance and security.
Our voice and work will prevail. We hold our elected officials responsible for any harm done to our staff, the Center and Trans Arkansans. Our elected officials who have pushed anti-trans legislation, our Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders and her messages of hate against our community. Your discrimination of Trans Arkansans has consequences. May your constituents hold you accountable and push you out of office. /end ID

BIG NEWS: I'm working with Trans Student Educational Resources and ActBlue to launch a first-of-its-kind fund to reimburse hormone replacement therapy costs.
Trans healthcare is under attack and more trans people are rationing hormones than ever. Most people assume hormones are easy to cover, which is likely why there are *zero* national programs directly reimbursing hormone costs. However, with the increasing cost of living, trans people aren’t able to afford food, medications, or other basic life necessities. Not to mention several states banning public funds going to trans healthcare.
