Jesslake apocalypse au! Land of All (LOA)

I made this au at least around May 2023 and it got a looot of changes

This au starts with the train crashing out and ending up in the real world, many things happened, the cars are everywhere (some abandoned and some still functional), the denizens getting out of the train, but most importantly… an infection came out of the train, affecting both denizens and humans.

Years after the crash, everyone lives as strays after an invasion of zombies named the Ghoms, which originated from the infection.

Now in the present, Jesse lives in a shelter, he went out with his friends to an abandoned building going after a supposed denizen, the mission is keeping them away. The building is barely stable and when the group walks to a wooden board it breaks causing Jesse to fall, he gets up injured but still able to walk, now having to find an exit. On his way, he hears Ghoms nearby, having no other to hide hoping to not be detected, but then he hears someone killing one of them, who is none other than the denizen they were looking for...

That's all for now, I would talk more about it in the future, if procrastination and/or college doesn't get so involved lol

my new idea for couples with chronic communication issues and conflict avoidance: every 3 months you have to come up with all the reasons you should break up. you may want to approach these meetings with the disposition that you WILL break up at the end--so think about the good, the bad, the ugly: whatever you'd want to say if you thought you wouldn't speak again. and then see if you can talk yourselves out of it.

some benefits:

requires both parties to regularly reflect on their satisfaction in the relationship

knowing you will have an opportunity to air grievances, you can better judge the urgency of emotional crises (eg "I can't wait a month to talk about this, things need to change NOW" vs "i'm feeling iffy but i think i can wait and see how things evolve for a while"

allows for patterns to be better observed over time

turns the potential of breaking up into an opportunity for growth and learning, rather than loss and destruction

as you repeatedly affirm why you should stay together, the relationship becomes stronger and more secure

potential challenges and points of concern:

both partners need to be open to this practice and to approach it from mutual respect and care; without equal buy-in it can cause anxiety and grief, with one partner dominating the conversation

the practice in itself is incomplete and benefits from standards of communication; these are left to the audience to decide

exceptionally avoidant people may use these sessions to abdicate responsibility toward dynamically assessing and communicating challenges outside of the session; sessions are not substitutes for communication as issues arise

partners may feel urgency to have a "complete" or "airtight" case, and feel dread or pressure to rush issues within themselves before they are ready; space must be made to live in ambiguity, raise questions that don't have answers, and to check in over multiple sessions

consistency of the sessions may prove challenging but i believe it is necessary for it to function--if the session is not taken extremely seriously i think its power will be nullified

[WIP] AU designs for V/Johnny/Kerry that'll make sense to no one except me because it's from my on and off worldbuilding project I've had for 8 years and get brainworms for once in a blue moon but more importantly...I've not put them side by side like this until now and V just looks so much bigger than both of them even though he's just tall and not particularly muscular??? Why the fuck did Harry Potter become so popular anyway? JKR is (Unfortunately) a good writer, but she's not that good. Were we all mean little shits or what?

...Actually that might be it, come to think of it. Writing this I'm unlocking the long buried memory of reading Harry Potter for the first time. There is a lot of cruelty and meanness in those books, and when I was young that felt... Thrilling. I could laugh at people suffering without getting in trouble, my parents and teachers didn't tell me that was bad, they encouraged me to keep reading. If you're the average liberal then the horrific subtext (and sometimes plain text) of the books just, doesn't matter, because it's against the 'right kind' of people.

Perhaps that's why it was, and continues to be, so well liked by the crowd that loves throwing slurs at people. They don't care that public consumption of the media materially worsens the lives of trans people (especially trans women), because to them we're just the funny target to laugh at. Our suffering is the punchline.

If I read the books again I could probably find a 'joke' character I could relate us too, but honestly, it doesn't fucking matter. The people who'd understand that reference are the people who already hate us, and I don't want to spend any amount of effort for their fucking sake.

It's just a stars dammed book, get a life- And maybe stop supporting the woman trying to end ours.
