Made with a lot of love; 24 hours or more. I really love the new song and connect with it.

“There’s nothing left to offer to restore what has been taken. Your body is a temple but your holy wounds are aching.” these lyrics spoke to me in a way that really made me connect to the song. I feel like as someone with religious trauma, trauma in general, and an immense sense of identity issues, this song was made for me. I have a lot of trouble seeing my life through a lens that isn’t trauma related. I’ve compartmentalized so far to the point of having DID and now while I try to accept that, my wounds ache as I start to reveal and see them. I love the lyrics in this song as well that repeat “You’re only wearing my skin!” as that can be a part of my systems feelings at times. Overall, the song Gethsemane really influenced this paintings direction; different symbols of trauma, truth, and compartmentalizations fill the piece. Learning to accept the fires instead of trying to put them all out.

I feel an Odyssey revival in my horizon...

I did the first half of this about a year ago. They are mostly traced because I am definitely not that good yet but I did change their expressions to be much more tender. 🥹

The background is a bit, well, not that great. But I did it in like Dec 2024 when I had a 2 month old baby and a 3 year old at the same time SO SUE ME.

The colors are also way too vibrant on tumblr's photo thing but oh well.

Anyway. Here's to more Kasskas shenanigans that no one will probably see LOL

A work about the concept of honouring your inner child, loving the child that wanted to be a child and letting them be a child. Letting them exist freely with wonder and enrichment and allowing them to feel safe. Inner children deserve love. They deserve healing and safety. Colours a bit over saturated for childlike wonder effect, a little more dull in person.
