It was sweet that Astarion was under the belief that no one would figure out he was a vampire before his big reveal. Most of us took one look at him and said "yep, that sure is a vampire right there." Most, however, doesn't include the party members. Some of these characters are supposed to be perceptive and intelligent, and I'm still convinced that if you press your ear against theirs you'd hear elevator music.

hi!! new pinned post, because the last one had gotten long again-- if you want to read previous posts, here's the first one, here's the second one. the tl;dr from those is that my dad got wrongfully imprisoned abruptly, our place was raided, the cops broke a bunch of shit and took a bunch of our things and still haven't returned them, they left all the broken things for us to spend money in repairing, we had to spend money on a lawyer, trips to visit him, new clothes, medicine and food for him in jail, etc. it was a mess, way more details in both posts. he's back home now, with an ankle monitor because technically his case isn't being investigated yet, they haven't done anything about it at all, the case hasn't moved one ounce lmao it's great, always trust the judicial system and cops!! ugh, anyway!

we found a therapist for my dad who can help her deal with all the stuff he had to deal with while in prison, all the bullying, the depression, the starving, the separation, etc. he needs to get a bunch of other medical appointments, has to get surgery, among other things, but for now things are much better on that front. that being said, he did lose his job and my old redbubble account got suspended without a warning months ago, plus argentina's economy is... really bad right now. food prices rise every day, public transportation prices went up like a 200% in a couple of weeks, salaries are low and stuck there, subsidies are gone, the local peso keeps falling, we have an absolute psychopath as a president who spends more time insulting or threatening anyone who oppose him than caring about people. it's a disaster. for updates on argentina in english, this person on twitter makes very good informative threads if you're interested.

anyway, i used to make around 30/40 dollars a month in redbubble, and that used to help adding up to the donations i got here, and it got suspended, so now i make like 1/2 dollars on teepublic monthly. so... it's a huge loss. there's a lot of things me and my mom are in charge of paying-- groceries, power and water and gas, medicine (she's diabetic, i have some sort of chronic sinusitis), our dog and cat's food and medicines, wifi, phone bills, public transportation, healthcare, my dad's new therapist... so, you know, i really need anything people can donate. even if it's just a single dollar, literally any amount helps. i love fashion so much and i love this blog, i work really hard on it even when my brain says no, and i really appreciate how much you guys love it too. i love seeing people discover new styles, new designers, new things to be inspired by. so, yeah... i'm never going anywhere, but i do need help to basically stay afloat.

All Future Diary Merch (Part 1)

~~A comprehensive list

Despite being a cult classic anime and manga, finding official Future Diary merchandise feels like looking for a needle in a haystack. That is, incredibly difficult to come by in a sea of redbubble and bootlegs. This is partly due to its age, but also because most merchandising is both Japanese-exclusive and released in limited quantities. For this reason, it’s quite difficult to gauge just how much merch has been created and how much of it is still available to us few fans still active to this day. So, for the sake of curation, here’s a comprehensive list of all officially licensed Future Diary merch (that we know of at least).

A little disclaimer before we begin: this list is subject to change, as I’m always making new discoveries whenever I look deeper into this rabbit hole. If anyone knows of more merchandise that isn’t included in this list, please let me know so I can update it. On the other hand, this post is going to be very dense and likely feature multiple parts due to Tumblr's photo limit, so I'll keep my descriptions very brief. If there's any relevant information related to a product, I'll link it and call it a day. (so be prepared to see a lot of links to some of my previous posts here). 

With all that fluff out of the way, let’s dive in:

~ Magazine Goodies

Magazines often feature little goodies and gifts (or at least they did back in the early 2000’s), and Shonen Ace wasn’t an exception to this. According to Future Diary’s official guidebook, there were three special FD gifts included in different editions of Shonen Ace:

A supplementary manga cover (from the February 2011 issue of Shonen Ace)

A Yuno phone pouch (from the Spring 2008 issue of Ace Assault)

A comic box (from the June 2011 issue of Shonen Ace)

~ Raffle Goodies

Besides these magazine goodies, Shonen Ace also did many fairs where they would sell volumes of their popular series and raffle limited edition products. These raffles were advertised in the obis of the first four Future Diary volumes, which is where most of my product images actually come from. Once again, according to the guidebook, these products were:

An mp3 player + earphones (from Kadokawa’s Spring Comic fair 2006, featured in volume 1) I believe only 10 units exist of this piece, though I could be wrong. The ad for the raffle said that of the 300 participants, 140 would also receive a metal strap (a.k.a phone charm), though we have no pictures of what that looks like (source). 

A jacket/windbreaker (from a raffle featured in volume 2). Sadly, no more information is available for this product.

A wall clock (from Kadokawa’s Spring Comic fair 2007, featured in volume 3). I also believe only 10 units exist of this piece.

The complete crossover of Hanako and the Terror of Allegory x Future Diary (also from the 2007 Spring Comic fair). Of the people who weren’t lucky enough to receive the wall clock, 190 received the crossover instead. 

The meditating Yuno t-shirt (from Kadokawa’s 13th anniversary fair, featured in volume 4). Only 50 units exist of this piece. Of the people who weren’t lucky enough to receive the shirt, 200 received a signed, colored copy of the artwork from the shirt.

~ Kadokawa Extras

Besides raffles and magazine goodies, Kadokawa has made other miscellaneous products featuring Future Diary for special events:

A fan from the Kadokawa Manga Festival - Summer 2009, which happened to feature Yuno.

A Christmas Yuno x Yukki bookmark from the Kadokawa Manga Festival - Winter 2009. 

A Yuno Keychain sold for Shonen Ace’s 25th anniversary.

Sakae Esuno’s crossover illustration for Kadokawa’s 30th anniversary.

~ Books

Besides the manga releases, there are other Future Diary related books, such as:

Fragments, the guidebook.

Future Diary's ecchi parody: Mosaic Keshi.

The original Future Diary sample booklet, which included just the first chapter of the manga.

The two light novels.

Bonus: despite never receiving a standalone release, I’ll mention it here: the Tantei Akechi x Future Diary crossover story.

Extra bonus: there are two clear files that were given as bonus gifts for purchasing some of the manga volumes (I don’t know where else to place this so here they are).

~ DVD/Blu-ray Bundles

The limited edition sets of each localization of Future Diary include plenty of interesting bonuses worth diving into. I’d like to note that I might be missing some information here as the contents of these bundles are a little tricky to research, though.

The complete Japanese Blu-Ray box included the following bonuses: a 16-page booklet, pilot episode, the MurMur Corner specials, the promotional TV commercials and videos, audio cast commentary for every episode, box sleeve and disk sleeves with original designs, and the CD soundtrack.

The Japanese Blu-Ray/ DVD had individual volumes (9 to be exact) which were also accompanied by limited edition bundles. These bundles included similar bonuses: an 8-page booklet, video specials and commercials, cast commentaries for their respective episodes, a box/ disk sleeve, and one of two character trading cards.

Volume 1 of the Blu-Ray/ DVD also included a mouse pad with an original design for its limited edition, while volume 6, 7 and 8 included one of the three Radio CDs for their limited edition sets. (source).

Bonus: if you bought the Volume 1 Limited Edition set from HMV, you would receive a poster of Yuno in an HMV uniform. There's also a Tsubaki version, though I'm not sure what volume that's for. If you bought it on Amazon, you would receive a special sticker set.

The German Collector’s Limited Edition: comes with the box, booklet (same one as the Japanese), memory cards of all the diary owners, pins of Yuno and Yukki and an embroidered patch with the name of the show. (Note: the French Limited Edition also contained the same booklet).

The Collector’s Limited Edition Set (UK): included a 28-page artwork booklet.

SelectaVision Blu-Ray Collector’s Edition of Future Diary: comes with the CD box, complete series and extras (total of four disks), soundtrack CD, a small container with Tsubaki’s face, 9 large postcards of the manga covers, a doble-sided poster, sticker set, trading card set, a replica of Yukki’s beanie, and a 40-page booklet. What else can I say, ole 💃

Side note: I’m disappointed that the LATAM version never had a physical release. Not only did we miss out on similar bundles, but the dub is now incredibly difficult to find since it wasn't moved over when Funimation passed to Crunchyroll. The castilian dub is also surprisingly good in comparison, which is something I don’t normally say (castilian dubs don’t have a track record of being very good, sorry).

Lastly, the US Limited Edition Box included three extras: a filler box and two Valentine's-Day-themed postcards.

More chases and chest beats follow. Inside, the Colobus continue to annoy Aybo. When Lope pops up, he looks like he was just woken up. Aybo seems to be fine with the monkeys chasing him, but Lope has no time for them. He bites the hose and beats his chest at one of them. He moves along the top towards the monkey's off-view area, I believe. Which isn't visible from the visitors' area. A couple of minutes later, he's down below again. Aybo gets chased back outdoors, and you can just see him doing a twirl. how do I willingly delete my Instagram? I hate it, and want to be free of it, but as an artist and an introvert I use it to kind of.. prove myself? Like I find it an easy way to show people who I am, if that makes sense. How can I be confident without it?

It's pretty easy you just go on Instagram and click the option to delete your account. (don't forget you can request a backup of your data which includes all your posts if you don't have them saved anywhere else).

But I'm guessing that's not the part you're struggling with.

You have to ask yourself what you want out of Instagram and are you getting it? Are you using it to share your art and socialise or are you spending hours looking at reels? Are you comparing yourself with other artists to negative effect? Are you following the lives of celebrities and hating your own? Are you being sold products with every scroll? Are you really socialising or just looking at how much fun your friends are having without ever talking to them anymore?

There are other ways of showing off your art and socialising with friends that bypass social media designed to rot your brain and sell you products.

I can only suggest what I use or have heard of.

To socialise a very easy way is to use WhatsApp. The messages are encrypted, you can have them dissappear after a chosen amount of time. You can send photos. You can make group chats. You can send voice messages. And you use each others phone numbers, so if you ever needed to reach them in urgency you can actually call them/text them. You know, like back in the day.

Another way is Discord, this has the added benefit of Servers dedicated to specific things like games, shows, dnd groups, probably anything you're interested in, you could find a group to join. But also you can just chat privately to one person or make a group chat. Or even make your own server for your own book club? One thing to mention with the servers if you don't know, you can mute the channel notifications for the whole server or specific channels, otherwise the notifications will be too much.

If you are a gamer then you may already know about Steam since it is like the number one place to get games on pc. Apart from gog. But you can also add friends on it. And see what your friends are playing and play with them.

Now, in terms of sharing your art there is of course tumblr. I think deviantart is still around. Flickr. Hitrecord might still be going? You can also make your own online portfolio. Some people use redbubble. Etsy if you want to sell your art.

What I've often seen online is a combo, where you share your art on Tumblr but have links to a more professional looking portfolio and somewhere else where people can buy your art. Again places like etsy or inprnt or redbubble you can use to sell your art. Or even if your art is more involved, maybe you make videos about it or post photos of it in progress? Then I'd suggest patreon as well.

In the end I don't think anything I say will convince you to quit Instagram because this is a choice you have to make for yourself. You have to want to choose yourself and your health and understand there are better alternatives out there. And of course, do your own reaserch to find what best suits You.

Even though there's more than a million and one ways to paint, I'd like to share some insight into my process while making this Vaporwave Angel. Since I used acrylic paint on a piece of pine for this one (which is fast drying), I built it up in layers of color. First, I began with the fluorescent pink underpainting, allowed it to dry, and then painted in the blue background to define the outline of the angel. Next, I loosely defined shapes with a medium-sized brush in light blue and a darker shade of blue for the main shadows and forms. I continued this process with various hues, blocking in color and highlighting areas to add dimension to the angel, allowing each color to dry seperately before adding in the next color. Once everything was roughly painted, I used a smaller brush to define subtle details in the angel's face and hair. I mixed up a variety of colors to blend them quickly onto my painting. In areas I wished to be focal points, I added more details or highlights, leaving a mixture of refined and unrefined spaces. Lastly, once I was happy with the color balance and cohesiveness of the image, I added a satin varnish as a top coat to give it some shine.

Ultimately, I enjoyed this painting process and would use it again because it seems to capture movement and energy within the image, rather than everything looking too tight or still.

Been a bit, I updated the site several times, you might see some icons on the left, they are basically stylistic links! Two of them are links to easter eggs, teehee. I changed it so that the music player on this main page isn't autoplay anymore.

It's almost time for my second year of Uni to start up again, the 28th of August if I recall correctly. Oh boy what a hard one this will be, gonna be learning netcode and calculus. The combo might kill me! ahah.

Right! I added some stuff to a redbubble shop! I don't get a very large cut, but it's something! Commissions are slow or non-existent and it's hard making adopts, so every little bit counts.
