Hello, Sandman fans! This is a small event to celebrate pairings which often don't get central stage: rarepairs!

What's a rarepair? We have defined "rarepair" as ships and pairings with under 200 works on AO3 as qualifying. We know fandom takes place here and on other sites as well, but it's a solid metric to go by!

Types of fanworks: We will be accepting fanworks such as fanfiction, fanart, podfics, fanvids, playlists, moodboards, filk, and rec lists for the event. There are no content restrictions: ship and let ship.

How do I participate? Make a podfic, not!fic, or filk featuring two (or more) women in a romantic and/or sexual relationship and post it to this collection!

Do genderswapped/trans characters count? Absolutely! Regardless of what canon says any character can be femslashed if you try hard enough

Can I post NSFW/darkfic content? Go for it! As long as you tag appropriately this collection will accept all works featuring f/f (or f/f/f, or f/f/f/f/+) pairings

If you feel like tagging is a fundamentally flawed system of posting fanworks, feel free to create femslash anyway and just not include it in this collection

When does this event run? All of February! I'm not going to have time/energy/motivation to make femslash podfic during February, how can I participate? No stress this is a very low key event, but if you'd like to participate you can: A) make a different medium of femslash work and post it to tumblr under the hashtag #femslashfebruary or the ao3 collection Femslash February (no affiliation) or, B) Find a femslash author and ask them to put up a Blanket Permission statement about their podficcing permissions Femslash fandoms tend to be very light on permission statements about whether people can make podfic without asking first You can even direct them to the Permission Statement Builder by flamingwell @flamingwell to make it super easy

For the past few days, I have been trying to provide proof for everything that had been mentioned, except for Filk itself. I was unsure if I should post it as I was worried this would be seen as not learning from me posting fanfiction with mature content that got me here in the first place.

But since the chunks of dialogue are already shared out of context - I want to share the same unfinished draft I sent to Indigo in July, with additional context notes of what scenes were supposed to play out.

I am sharing this draft only because it keeps being brought up and I want ADULT PEOPLE to judge by themselves after reading instead of just hearing someone else's opinion. As much as I wish I didn't have to do this, this not written crack fic keeps being brought into the light and at this point, I have decided this is the best choice.

However - to ensure no minor will get to it, I have tried to get every precaution and will post the link separately in a different, private post (link at the end of this one) that has Mature Community Label. The fanfic itself is shared on AO3 privately, accessible only for registered users and has a mature rating.  

This is NOT meant to reopen the discussion, but only to provide the actual evidence.

Finally finished this fic I started BEFORE THE PANDEMIC. It's been a rough ride because I've written a bunch of novel-length fics in-between finishing this (which is comparatively much shorter) and my writing style has evolved a lot in the meantime, but, ultimately, I'm happy with it.

Trapped in adjoining cells, Jim and Spock comfort (and sing to) each other as they await rescue.

Yep 😅, Daemon AUs, sex, and romance.  I am not someone who tags a lot – just the basics – and I haven’t written that much so not really any surprises here.

8. What song would make a great fic (to either write or read)?

Of Blind Channel’s songs, hum, a lot of people have written fics inspired by their songs already since this is a band fandom.  I know I’ve read quite a few of them.  If I was to write one, which I probably won’t, I’d say Wolfpack since it’s one of my favorite songs of theirs overall.  I like the wolf imagery and the defending each other theme.

For non Blind Channel songs, I do listen to a lot of filk music which has a lot of songs which would make good fics since they are in general based off of stories.  Some specific songs that would be top contenders: Wolfen One (Heather Alexander), No Hurry (Vixy & Tony), Golden Eyes (Heather Alexander), Jirel of Jorey (Leslie Fish).  Okay need to get off my filk playlist because we could be here forever.
