FAQ:

Can I comment on tumblr or only on AO3?

Either one is great! Some squares are more designed with AO3 in mind, but most can be adjusted to suit tumblr as well, so I say go for it. Tumblr fics deserve love, too.

Can one comment count toward multiple squares if the fic fits more than one category?

Since the goal is for as many fics to receive comments as possible, try to comment on a different fic for each square.

Is there a time limit?

Nope! Take your time or set your own deadline, whatever works for you. This blog is still in its early experimental stage, so feedback welcome. Play around and let me know what you like and what might be added/changed—including ideas for squares on future cards!

Do I have to record progress on the actual card?

Nope! If it’s easier to keep track in a different way, that’s fine. This is all very honor system, so if you say you earned a Bingo, we’ll call it a win 🎉

Some people have been tracking not just completed tasks, but the fics they read along the way, so that when they post a bingo, they can also promote the fics/authors in a little rec list. Not required, but definitely cool to see!

Can I adjust the task in a particular square to suit my comfort level?

Of course! If you deliver something in the spirit of the task, then it’s all good. Use your best judgement in constructing a comment that will make the author smile, and you can consider it a job well done.

In general, so long as each square has produced at least one comment, you’re golden and I salute you 🫡

This time Andy the 🐙 and I have had a lot of fun reading the wonderful new fics that have been published thanks to the @strangerthingsreversebigbang (thanks to the ST Reverse BB I was lucky enough to be one of the first to read those stories!!!) and we finally completed our bingo card!

Comment on a fic with under 50 hits: Dandelion Wishes by Carerra_os, rating T, WIP, Harringrove. This is a super sweet fic with child Billy and a very little magical Steve! And being part of the Harringrove Big Bang it also has incredible art made by Raven ! (now it has more than 50 hits like it deserves but I was lucky enough to be one of the first peole to read it!)

Theorize about world, character, and/or theme: and then you came by what_about_the_fish, rating E, WIP, Harringrove. Another incredible fic from the Harringrove Big Bang (so it has art as well! Made by Luca Doodle Doo) In a Dom/Sub universe Soft Dom Steve finds Billy, a Sub without a Dom that desperatly need one who took care of him like he deserves.

Epilogue comment: speculate on characters' futures: The Only Living Ghost In New York by beetlesandstars, rating M, complete, Steddie. A modern AU where Steve realizes that he is in love with Eddie... when Eddie gets married! It hurts so good!

Explain while the fic is better than canon: Let it happen by Romeren (, rating M, WIP, Harringrove, super sweet story written for bigbangharringrove and with beautiful art by Lemon and Apple.

revisit fic you read in the past & leave a(nother) comment: If I stare too long by brawls (brawlite) and ToAStranger, rating: E, complete- The first Metalsandwich fic I have ever read. It's hot, and fluff, and cute and it has incredible art!

This year, as a bit of a Valentine's celebration, the Avocados in Love server held a two week comment fest from Feb 1-14. We focused on commenting on fics by our talented server members, new and old, and did our best to score some major points and earn bragging rights and fun badges. I did a lot of catching up on my reading and managed to score three badges!

I earned the Bowtie and DD badge for making special shapes on my bingo card, as well as the Comment Kingpin badge for commenting on a fic by every server member who was participating in the event. All in all, I left 30 comments! It was a lot of fun to play along; I read fics by new authors and even revisited some of my old favorites. (And left comments where I had failed to before, oops!)

Everyone seemed to have a lot of fun participating, I really love the server peeps there and how much everyone was encouraging one another the whole time. We do have fun. :)
