#adhesive allergy

Idk if my sensitivity to adhesive is transient, depending on how cranky my mast cells are, or if it is just very specific adhesives that do it.
I had surgery to swap out the battery on my gastric stimulator implant.
The steristrips that I'm supposed to leave on my surgical incision are causing little blistery sores at the ends of the strips. Had to message my surgeon's office and ask if I can take these fuckers off. My surgery was almost a week ago, so I feel like it should be okay to take them off???
PSA to other EDS peeps that our skin is prone to reactions to adhesive. Bandages are not supposed to be THAT itchy!

We love having an adhesive allergy and having a reaction to KT tape. But i have the connective tissue disorder and KT tape helps keep my joints together and helps with joint pain.

Hey y’all! Can you please send me pictures of your favorite animals?  I am stressing out about all -ologists I’ll be going to over the next few months and could really use a distraction. On the one hand, I am grateful I can see these doctors, and that my new PCP is taking my health issues seriously and referring me to specialists. On the other, I have been caught in a never ending merry go round of specialists for more than a decade. I am tired. I never get answers, they always just take money and refer me to a new specialist in a loop, and the latest loop has led to the discovery that I am allergic to neurologists.  So...please send me pictures of your favorite animals (for plushie inspiration, and also just because animals are adorable)

Holy fuck. When they tell you to make sure there’s no wrinkles in your transtape they’re not fucking around. 24 hrs after applying it apparently the end on my ribs had wrinkles which caused two decent sized blisters, which I can only assume feel like what a rib tattoo feels like 😫

I don't know what I'm doing wrong. Trans tape feels amazing and makes me feel so good but it hurts and I've got blisters and pretty sure a scar now. I'm not gonna use it again but I'm so fucking sad

Sometimes I can get away with wearing a bandage. Not this time. I put on one of those hydrocolloid bandages and my skin said nope

sometimes. doing ostomy changes is like going to the bathroom easy in easy out. and sometimes. it is like changing an infant's diaper who is trying to set a world record for how far and often they can projectile pee all over you. would love to be able to guess which it's going to be because today was the latter and i was UNPREPARED

Had my own “potatoes aren’t spicy?” moment when I learned not everyone has irritated red squares on their skin after they peel bandages off.

the fact that they don’t make bulk packs of those sensitive skin bandaids is straight up cruel

So I had to change the adhesive patch for the holter monitor today.
Quick reminder, I am horrendously allergic to any and all adhesives. Like, hives, and red puffiness, and itchy burning feelings, and it rips my skin off, and I scar horribly.
But I have no choice. I have to wear this damn thing for a month. And yes I called for the "hypoallergenic" patches. I already know they won't work. But maybe it won't be as agonizing.
When I took off the first patch, the area was red and itchy, but the spots where the electric sensor deals were in the patch, there's raised welts. I'm going to lose my mind. And several layers of skin.
