I'm glad Quackity address the admin/behind the scene issues that were revealed last night so quickly. I wasn't expecting such a quick response, but I'm glad he did.

It's unfortunate that the higher ups in the admin team turned out to be corrupt but it's truly fixable and will help the health of the server so much. I'm honestly excited for the positives that will come out of this. I think the server will be so much better once Quackitys done the rearranging and investigating.

It's also comforting knowing and seeing everyone come out to bat for the admins. The admins are the backbone and heart of the server. They are incredible and deserve nothing less than respect and dignity. It's nice seeing the ccs stand up for them too. Pierre stated that he was already in the process of getting a call arranged with Quackity over some of these issues. I also just know that ccs like Phil, Bad, Etoiles and most of the server would totally stand up for the admins. Phil talked about them getting paid for months and Bad is nothing but supportive of them and wants to work with them constructively.

Idk it's just nice to see an issue come up, see a quick and solid response, and know that it's completely fixable and correctable. Whatever changes Quackity makes will be incredible for the server.

Development Questions for Couples: Experimentalshipping, Part 3

Questions used Full backstory Part 2 I'll try to do as many questions as I can for this pairing. If you're curious about other pairings, feel free to send an ask with it plus any questions from the list you'd like me to answer :)

How do they consciously realize that they like the other character? Does it take them a while?

Colress realized it relatively quickly, which isn't surprising considering that he had kind of already decided that Ein was the person he was missing in his life. Granted, he'd always imagined him as his best friend, but the realization that he would like to pursue a bit of a, shall we say, different angle didn't trouble him much; rather it seemed like a natural progression/shift in his emotional state. Logical even.

The way it occurred to Colress reflected this. His thought progression can be summarized as: "I found the person I was looking for" -> "we're getting along great, even better than I thought actually" -> "I think he's cute" -> "I'd totally date him if he's up for it". From that point on, it was something that he had on his mind and was considering, keeping an eye on Ein and the way he behaved around him to start calculating his chances and the best possible approach.

Ein took a lot longer - months, if not years. Basically, he got comfortable in the "we get along, and that's all I need to think about" state and didn't pursue the train of thought further, even as he and Colress grew closer and found themselves in more and more intimate situations that some would consider outside of the platonic realm.

What finally gave Ein the necessary push to do some urgently necessary thinking and reevaluate his emotional state ironically happened once Colress had gotten the impression that he wasn't interested and went back to casually dating other people. Ein would've never openly admitted that it bothered him (and would in fact go on to deny it until the very last minute), but deep down he noticed that it did: He had grown accustomed to and rather fond of being this special person in Colress' life and felt that potential partners threatened to mess up this comfy little nest he'd made for himself. It was at this point that Ein very quietly admitted to himself that, fine, he actually liked his "bestie" a lot.

How do they react to the realization that they like the other character? Is it an “oh my god I’m never going to think about this again” thing, or are they pretty comfortable with it?

Tying into what I said above, Colress was pretty comfortable with the thought from the first time it came into his mind. He'd had casually dated before, and many of these relationships would start and/or end as friendships (though they never came close to the depth and closeness that characterized his relationship with Ein), so he felt that he could quite easily adapt to different circumstances. It also seemed so natural, logical and even convenient to Colress: Of course he'd want to date the one person he's getting along with so well! Why hadn't he thought of it sooner!

But there was a bit of uncertainty that remained, stemming from the fact that Ein had never openly expressed interest in dating him specifically or being romantically involved in general. Colress worried that he was in the process of overstepping a critical boundary, a mistake he'd made several times in the past and that he absolutely didn't want to repeat with the one person he felt he needed to keep around.

"I'm never going to think about this again" is a perfect summary of Ein's reaction when he finally realized what was going on with them. He was just so embarrassed when it occurred to him that he was crushing on his best friend and getting jealous. Since he had failed to correctly interpret Colress' behavior around him and miraculously missed any and all flirt attempts, Ein defaulted to the assumption that the feeling was surely not mutual and he was getting out of line.

What made things worse for him was that he was also simply out of his depth. He had never liked anyone before. He had never considered the possibility or prepared himself. This was nothing that books could teach him or an equation he could solve. This was new and strange and overwhelming, and Ein immediately proceeded to employ the ostrich strategy, pretending that nothing had happened, no feelings had emerged and he had totally not just thought about kissing a boy.
