Where do you think the other doorways to the facility come from?

I meant to answer this before today's episode but they are probably just Easter eggs/exist so that there isn't just a single entrance focused on the JF2 teleporter which would have a whole lot of implications. There is a great reddit post here that breaks down all of the potential references.

now if we are to do my favorite thing and overanalyze this, this is (or seems the at least) the storage room for jaffa headquarters which implies that they are shipping something to/from each of those locations. Narrowing in on the SOI door because lets be honest of course we are going to do that (and it would have the biggest impact on the lore):

The physical cloning machines in yoglabs (bottom right) have always had a lot of visual similarities to those of SOI (bottom left) even down to the freezing/use of water/ice on the person being cloned, with the main difference being the aesthetics of the rest of the room.

The JF2 cloning room (top left), has some visual callbacks to SOI beyond the clone vats specifically I am mainly focused on the amount of green in the room. In the episode there are green lights going all the way up towards the ceiling, on the sides of the walkway, practically everywhere in the clone room. This goes well beyond a green 'ready' indicator. This feels like a callback to the radiation/green themes in SOI (note: both JF2 #53 and SOI #39 where these images are from are focused on defeating evil/failed honeydew clones).

The difference in aesthetics is interesting since this is clearly after yoglabs in the timeline, but whoever is really in charge has moved away from the clean lab aesthetics of yoglabs towards that of SOI. If you assume it is Xephos prime, that could signal a level of desperation or obsession with SOI tech or something specific that happened there/then.

With the idea of technological advancement in mind for both yoglabs and the jaffa factory, moving towards older tech is interesting. Perhaps there is some lost technology that whoever is in charge believes is they key to their goals, or that it is some version of a 'I can do it right this time' plot with SOI tech.

It would be really interesting to see any of the other tech from SOI reinter the yogs canon besides cloning, and this would be a great opportunity to do that, although I don't necessarily think it is likely.

The prominent theme of radiation in both series is really interesting too, and there is a lot of potential development to be done there. Maybe radiation is causing master clones to slowly decay or there is some sort of limit. Maybe radiation could be tied to some other form of immortality (and making clones for securing Xephos prime/Honeydew's safety not necessary). It is too early to say more than this right now but there could definitely be something here.

Ah— huh? Uh huh? Wild West insecticide. I cry A LOT every time I watch it but I’ve never done an analysis. I rewatched it twice to make this and I’ve never made a analysis before so bear with me

First I wanna bring up the lyrics in the first bit when monokuma is readying the gun

“Long gone”

“I’m at the bottom of the ocean”

“I’m at the bottom of the sea”

I feel like this is a contrast to danganronpa 2’s “reach for the stars” in teruteru mikan and chiakis executions. RFtS is a metaphor for hope while the bottom of the ocean is the despair Gonta was in. He already fell into despair BEFORE his execution.

it’s also saddening that Gonta died by the one thing he thought loved him— bugs. I’m willing to bet he felt betrayed. Or that he betrayed all his friends, bug and human. That’s the obvious despair right there. He also must’ve felt guilt at how EVERYONE was crying when monokuma was about to drag him away.

The Wild West theme is simple actually. It’s common knowledge Gonta REALLY wanted to be a gentleman, so making him die in a place stereotyped by wild unlawfulness. Keep in mind that Gonta was HEAVILY influenced by fictions that shaped his view of “gentleman” so that’s why Monokuma chose that theme to tease Gonta’s dying thoughts of failing everyone and not being a true gentleman.

Last I want to bring up his hauntingly straight face. He doesn’t make ANY move to escape despite being very much strong enough to, he just sits there and lets everything happen. It’s spooky..

It’s a very haunting cutscene in general. Gonta was disfigured and then burned alive. I am NOT recovering soon chat.

Overall, imagine not remembering you killed someone and then trust in your friends that YOU did it, they’re right and suddenly you’re going through absolute hell. Gonta just wanted to help everyone, y’all. -Aether

this will forever be the funniest moment in final fantasy xiv to me. you are a bright young officer of the globe-spanning evil empire. over the last few months you've watched the entire empire crumble from the edges inward after the former crown prince killed his father and seized the throne so he could redirect the state toward his own occult ends. you have witnessed unbelievable horrors. you had to kill your own family. finally, you get a chance to stand across from the man who caused all this and ask: why? what was it all for?

and he goes, uh, because i wanted to, dipshit? that's literally the only reason anyone does anything? fuck, you're stupid. if you don't believe me ask literally anyone else. or even like an alien. they'll tell you they do whatever they want for the specific reasons they made up. and like that's literally fine we're all just doing what we want for the cool made-up reasons we each picked.

then a teenager roasts him and he vanishes from history forever. you were probably the last of your countrymen to ever see or speak to him, the man who burned down everything you knew and loved for nothing at all. and like the second to last thing he ever said to you, right between imparting his existentialist philosophy and threatening to kill you, was that aliens are real. he didn't even pause, just said "go ask an alien" and went on with his speech like aliens existing was a baseline assumption everyone could agree on.

The one random conversation at the end of a jf2 episode where Lalna verbatim says (though paraphrased here) “I should make Xephos my enemy so he’ll lock me up in a gilded cage”

And the continued clues about this Lalna not knowing about the events of Flux Buddies+

Is a lot to think about in both a Lalnable context and a multiple Lalna clones still roaming around context

It is super interesting to because if he doesn't know about *any* flux buddies stuff, that could imply that vague impressions of memories can be left behind even when they are erased. Like it wouldn't be enough to be conscious to for the person to know that the thoughts are prompted by something they don't remember, but it is interesting to think about for sure.

I really hope we get an explanation for the lack of flux buddies knowledge. Like yes we know that information can be erased, but why that information specifically was chosen has so many possible implications, especially because Xephos still knows about the clones (so it isn't just to blanket get rid of clone related knowledge).

Part of me wants to think that it has to do with Lalnable specifically since he is the main tie between yoglabs and flux buddies. Idk how likely it would be, but it would be really interesting if Lalnable somehow ended up in charge of/got control over yoglabs/the cloning somehow and this is the result. He has shown that he is happy to sit back and watch things apart instead of doing things himself, so sending the JF2 gang on dangerous quests, isolated from everyone else could be a way to torture them somehow.

Xephos does not have control, but has just enough knowledge to torture him (potentially retribution for favoring Lalna over him and imprisoning Lalnable). Just as in prison Lalnable knew what it was like to be outside of his cell and the knowledge of what used to be him tortured him (as is often the case with solitary confinement in real life).

Simon can't dig because of the skulk and his tendency to go after women has been exploited to put him in direct danger. He is also directly surrounded by people more competent than him, feeding into his sense of inferiority. The company that bears his name, in the hands of his long-time adversary and his 'office' nothing more than a janitor's closet.

Lalna is living without his closet friend, and isn't even aware of what he has lost. Instead of having the agency of living alone, he is relegated to an employee, a tool for Xephos (as Lalnable probably feels like he was treated).

Brry is still the wildcard as always.

If this is the case then there are probably many clones going through many different situations for Lalnable's viewing pleasure. But idk, it is still to early to know anything for sure, but it is definitely fun to think about!

It was too late/early in the night to try to sleep after patroling with Nightwing on the insane schedule the bats have. Gar had figured he wouldn't be getting sleep that night, and it's not like this was his first (or last) time pulling an allnighter but now was starving. He saw that a cafe nearby was open and might have some vegetarian options for him so he walked in giving the guy behind the counter small wave.

The guy behind the counter waved back, a faint smile haunted their face.

It wasn't that they looked weird. They looked kinda nice, but something didn't feel right about this guy.

"Aether" was wroten in their apron.

Despite the late hour, Aether seemed quite at ease. Even comfortable as if they were in their element.

Anyone who meet you for first time have an impression that you're cheerful, full of energy person. But after spending more time with you they started to notice that whether you are standing away from people your smile tends to vanish, your mind tormented by some troubles.

Whenever they ask you if you're alright you would smile and respond that you're fine. They respect that you're not ready to talk to them about your troubles so they won't press. They won't hide they are sad that you don't want to share your burdens, but give them a second and then they will suggest if you want to do something fun together. When they notice your sadness they won't ask you about it, it's not like they don't care about you, they will still be by your side if you need to talk to someone. They would do their own thing while being close to you. If you wish to talk to them they will immediately stop and put their whole attention to you. They won't ask but immediately try to do something to make you laugh or at least smile. They want to see you genuinely happy and do everything to bring that smile on your face again. You're always there for them, always willing to listen and if you can you will share some resolution or just comfort them. So they wonder why you don't let them do the same for you?

It's pretty hard to choose but my all time favorite has to be this miraculous fic (I forgot the name I read it two years ago😭)

But basically it was a human au, Adrian's pov after marionette's demise because of ALS. He receives marionette's diary where she writes each entry dedicated to "ladybug". It is very heart wrenching and made me cry (while I was in a flight. If I find it, I will 100% recommend. And of someone can find the name I will be in debted to you forever please find it😭)

one of the most sensitive topics surrounding xiao is his reaction towards dreams, and how wrought with guilt he is at everything he was forced to do under his enslavement.

but now that he's opened himself up to people who care about him, who love him, his battles against his own self lessen, and his subconscious is then kinder to him, relieving him of guilt, if only a little bit.

he's always had such an issue with wanting, so to have his dreams center around aether and him idling around, doing nothing but enjoying each other's presence without the sense of death and urgency clouding his mind, makes this letter all the sweeter.
