On August 27th 1788 the trial began of Deacon William Brodie, a respected pillar of Edinburgh society by day, a thief and housebreaker by night.
Brodie is said to have been the inspiration of Robert Louis Stevenson's Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde, which was published a century later.
The prestigious title of deacon did not refer to religion, as many assume, but instead to his presidency of one of Edinburgh's trades guilds. His trade was as a cabinet-maker and his position as deacon of the Incorporation of Wrights made him a member of the town council.
The trial of William Brodie for breaking into and robbing the General Excise Office for Scotland took place at Edinburgh on 27th and 28th August, 1788. The story of his strange career is as enthralling as any romance. The double life which he so long and successfully led – as a respected citizen and town councillor by day, and by night the captain of a band of housebreakers – was the wonder of the country at the time. Nowadays you would call it a celebrity trial.
Brodie was quite rich with 10,000 pounds and three houses that he inherited from his father. He also inherited the business, allowing him to sustain the wealth. Traveling in the highest social circles, Brodie had the key to almost all of the richest people’s houses. Literally. No wealthy Edinburgh resident would ever think that such a respected man would keep a copy of their key in his drawer and that he would slip inside their homes after nightfall to steal everything worth taking.
During the day, he was a well-known gentleman who shared jovial times with his rich customers and enjoyed the company of highly respected persons such as himself, but during the night, Brodie could be found gambling in the dark corners of Edinburgh, accruing debts that forced him to consider a life of crime, and so, he became a thief.
After installing a lock in a rich man’s home, Brodie would also make a copy of the key for himself. Not because he collected souvenirs, but because he intended to visit those homes again, some other night when a burglary without breaking in but entering the house with a key would be his tactic. In this way, the man had supplemental payment to support his double life as a gentleman by day and a gambler in the evenings. On top of everything, Brodie had to support his five children by two mistresses who didn’t know of each other’s existence.
Allegedly, his criminal career began around 1768, when he stole 800 pounds from a bank that he sneaked into during the night by using a key. The Deacon’s nightlife was filled with gambling, robbing, and stealing. He didn’t mix his daily business and finances with his nightlife. Whenever he would fall into debt while gambling, he had the “ace key” that would pay off his debts.
Another source says that although Brodie had already robbed a bank, his real criminal career began in the summer of 1786 when he met George Smith, an Englishman. Brodie and Smith got into business together, targeting the rich people’s homes in Old Town. By the end of that same year, the duo had successfully robbed a tobacconist and a goldsmith’s.
Soon, the Deacon and the Englishman recruited two other members to their group: Andrew Ainslie, a shoemaker, and John Brown, a thief. In 1787, the gang stole tea from a grocer’s store in Leith. Back then, tea was a valuable commodity, a luxury that only members of the elite could afford to buy.
Encouraged by their success, the gang, led by the Deacon, decided to steal the revenues of Scotland from an Excise office in Chessel’s Court on the Canongate. They organized an armed raid, and for the first time, instead of welcoming themselves inside with a key, they broke in. However, they managed to steal only 16 pounds when they were caught. The unsuccessful robbery led Brown to claim the King’s Pardon the same night and named Smith and Ainslie as the culprits.
When his partners got arrested, Brodie traveled to London, and from there he boarded a ship to Amsterdam. But, since there was a reward for Brodie, he was tracked down in Holland and shipped back to Edinburgh. He and his friend Smith were tried on August 27, 1788. Although at first there wasn’t any strong evidence against Brodie, he was convicted after a disguise, pistols, and of course, copied keys were found in his workshop. After a trial that lasted only 21 hours, Brodie was hanged in front of 40,000 people on October 1st that very year.
You can read an account of his trial here https://archive.org/.../trialofdeaconbro00brod_djvu.txt

You mentioned recently Ace's change from "preferring to spend time with guy friends" to "chilling with his buds" in the ghost bride event. Are there more examples of character's lines changing in the English version to avoid implying the characters like guys?
If I remember correctly, I think there were some instances of Cater and Rook's lines to be less flirtatious with the other male students.
Tumblr media
Hello hello! Yes yes, Literally translated Ace specifies that he has more fun with his "male friends" than otherwise, which is part of his reasoning behind why "romance is way more trouble than it's worth" (he had just shared the story of dumping his middle school girlfriend because she was boring).
This was written as "buds" on EN, possibly because saying "male friends" is a bit awkward in English?
Tumblr media
Rook's lines are all pretty accurate to the original phrasing!
I still need to share Rook's installment in the "How is the English version of Twst different?" series, and of all his changes I think his comment on Malleus' beauty might be the most flirtatious line of the group.
Tumblr media
(the EN server seems to have a curious relationship with the word "beauty.")
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Cater has undergone some of the most changes between EN and the original game! They have mostly been catalogued here,
Of his most flirtatious changes we have his joke about wanting to date Epel's mother, which was changed into a line about washing dishes:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
His lines were also rewritten in his school uniform vignette, which might be one of EN's most infamous changes, as he says outright on JP something that is close to "For a moment there I think I even wanted to date you."
(I have seen conflicting opinions on the changes in this vignette, with some people commenting that it seems like EN wanted to get rid of the insinuation that Vil is only willing to date people who can afford him.)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Cater is one of the game's flirtier characters, and he also had his line about offering to let the prefect wear his clothes changed on EN. (EN has had difficulty with subject pronouns in the past, however, so it is not impossible that this was maybe just a mistranslation.)
He also had the word cute removed from his line of "our cute guides of the Scalding Sands" (in reference to both Jamil and Najma); removing the word "cute" from Cater's dialogue is not unheard of for EN.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ace is another fairly flirty character, and he had his line of "give me a call if you get lonely" changed to "if you get bored" on EN, though his follow-up line of, "I was joking" was retained.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I think that might be all of the de-flirting changes that I have been able to find thus far! :> Thank you for the question!!

Wait, Zhao Yunlan's gun is actually a...?!
(I've never claimed production meta for @guardianbingo before, but after the amount of time and research I put in on this, I feel like I've earned the "Zhao Yunlan's Gun or Whip" square, haha)
SO. GUYS.
Maybe this is something fandom as a whole figured out back in 2018, but I, who didn't hear of Guardian until 2020, did not realize until now and I need to share the knowledge because when I finally noticed, I made an unholy sound.
I've tracked down where Zhao Yunlan's gun came from -- or at least, what it most likely started as. Not the in-universe dark-energy-maybe-uses-bullets-maybe-doesn't-device-that's-best-not-thought-about-too-long, but rather the actual fake-steampunk-revolver-that-is-best-not-looked-at-too-long-because-it's-awful prop.
Y'know, this disaster:
Tumblr media
I was actually working on a different Guardian Bingo fill and needed to look something up for continuity, so I'd flipped through a couple of episodes at super high speed trying to find a scene. As luck would have it, one of my skips forward happened to land on the scene I screencapped above, when ZYL confronts Zhang Shi.
Normally we don't get this clear (or this stationary) a shot of the godawful gun prop. I'd assumed all along they had just taken a plastic gun, glued some extra bits and bobs on it to make it look fancy, and hit it with some dry brushing (fun fact: you can watch the paint flake throughout the series; check out the top of the barrel and the side of the cylinder in the above screenshot!) to make it look #steampunk like the abandoned aesthetic of 25% of the show (as I've said before, I have theories about what happened in preproduction, but that's another post). This sort of thing is exactly what I've done for cheap cosplay weapons or background props for film work that aren't going to be seen at HD detail range.
Anyway, since the detail showed up better here than in other shots, I paused the video to look at the random screws and hex bolts (why??) they'd glued on it, since I recalled that I had the aforementioned gun/whip bingo square to fill.
That's when I noticed a detail that had eluded me before: An inverted V shape at the bottom of the grip.
Tumblr media
Only looking more closely, that's not an inverted V. It's a symbol that I've seen a whole series of variations of over the past 15+ years... every time there's a new installment of the Assassin's Creed video game series:
Tumblr media
So I started hunting. The principal weapons in each game turned up no matches, but eventually I found a gun that looks almost exactly like ZYL's:
Tumblr media
It's not a perfect replica, but the details are certainly all there: The stylized logo; the leaves and swirls on the grip; the feathers up the back; even the Victorian scrollwork beneath the barrel.
Tumblr media
Now, what's really interesting is that this gun isn't actually from the AC game series. It's part of an elaborate fan project by artist David Paget that started as a class assignment back in 2014. Even though it gathered a bit of steam in the AC fandom and generated a couple of forum role-play groups, OCs and the like, nothing about this artwork was ever connected to a real Assassin's Creed title. So why would there be a physical version of a gun that was only someone's fanart?
This is where the smoking gun (*rimshot*) goes missing, because I can't prove any of this, and it's been long enough that digging through the archives of the internet to find answers is going to take way more time than I can afford to spend on a project I'm not getting paid for. But there are two likely possibilities:
Scenario A: Some employee in a toy factory somewhere in China got told, "This Assassin's Creed franchise is really big, so we need to be producing replicas from those games to sell. Work up some designs." So the employee Googles "assassin's creed gun," finds David Paget's very professional-looking art, and whips up a replica to mass-injection-mold without realizing it's not actually from a game. Later, someone on the cash-strapped Guardian production team needs a gun to mod, and finds a cheap toy revolver on clearance after several years of sitting in storage because there was little demand for a replica of a gun that was never in a game. They buy several, glue hex bolts on the cylinder for reasons unknown, and poof! Instant pseudo-steampunk!
Scenario B: Other fans were involved in the design. Someone did build a 3D model of David Paget's design that's still available on Sketchfab (screenshot below), and it's not unreasonable to assume that other fans could have thought it looked cool and built 3D printable models. Later, someone on the cash-strapped Guardian production team needs a gun to mod, and acquires the 3D print file of one of those models from the interwebs. They mod the file a bit, print some, glue hex bolts on the cylinder for reasons unknown, and poof! Instant pseudo-steampunk!
Tumblr media
Personally, I find Scenario A far more likely than Scenario B, for two reasons: First, the hero prop looks more injection molded than 3D printed, especially given the technical state of 3D printing back in 2017-8. And second... Budget-challenged dramas do have a history of picking up bulk video game replicas and using them as cheap props. I made a post back in 2019 about the WoW Horde shields we spotted in a different drama...
Anyway, no firm answers about the source of the hero prop -- the world may never know! -- but we have now confirmed that in some alternate universe (possibly one of the first eighty?), Zhao Yunlan and/or Zhao Xinci is an Assassin.
Wait, wait, wait... *recalls mechanics of how the whole Assassin's Creed frame story is supposed to work* Uh... so... who wants to write a genetic memory explanation for the whole Kunlun -> [lots of lifetimes] -> Zhao Yunlan thing?
.
(I did actually check the catalogue of a friend of mine who makes replicas of props from various media franchises to see if he'd done a commission of the David Paget design, since a surprising number of his custom pieces actually do end up on film and television, but while he has a gorgeous replica of a revolver that actually appears in an AC game, it appears he has not done the Zhao Yunlan gun. I didn't really think it likely, since he's in the U.S., but you never know.)

I was wondering what tips do you have on making sprites for rpgmaker? size? etc? really love your work that i saw on twitter!!! i love your usage of color man
TYSM!! Btw I might go back and forth editing some parts as there is things I've might forgotten over time.
ON DRAWING them:
Most sprite follow a multiples of 8, so whatever size you pick, make sure is something like 16x16, 24x24, 32x32, 48x48... all depending on the RPG maker you have (please read the RPGmaker section).
Picking the size for sprites it's gonna depend on your art style and limits. The smaller the size you have to reduce your color palettes, less shading, less details, and you're gonna center more on pixel art take. Faster workflow for pixel art style at the cost of some art limitations. The bigger scales allow more color palettes, and even non-pixel rendering because the space, having more freedom in what you draw, but there is more risk to mistake and takes more time to make.
For reference, these are Gordon and Benrey walking sprites I've made, 48x48 as the biggest RPG maker allows vs 16x16 at smallest.
Tumblr media
3. If you can afford it, get Aseprite. It's an art program dedicated to pixel art with a lot of keys to help you and will save you lot of time! But you can still work on your art program of choice as long it has pixel features AND symmetry options (so you make sure both sides on a sprite or asset is the same both sides).
4. On a walking sprite, you don't have to draw every part moving, a slight hint of movement in the feet it's enough to get your point across.
5. If you're going pixel, limit your palette a little, not that you have to restrict yourself to 8bit colors, but isn't necessary have many greens that are identical, and better have very distict shades on green that will help colors pop up better AND will help you draw assest faster and easier when color picking.
IE avoid palettes like the one in the left, and try like ones in the right.
Tumblr media
ON RPG MAKER:
Except for MZ, all versions of RPGmakers only have one size of the assets. (And other important limitations)
2003: Only 16x16, and can only work on a 8bit palette (256 colors) meaning you won't be able use sertain colors and will not allow you export your assets over one wrong pixel Ace: only 32x32. MV: only 48x48. No layers options. MZ: multiple sizes (x16, x24, x32 and x38), allows layers!
They're gonna realase RPG maker unite with even more tiles option, but from now I wont opine much on it, because I can't really.
2. (For MV and MZ) Install "zoom" and "pixel perfect" plugins for a better look of your sprites.
In pixel art, in order to have your work appreciated, you have to resize it, as in, zoom it it, and making sure the pixels aren't blurry. Later PRG maker doesn't really aim pixel art, so there is no option to do this on base engine.
But you can install plugins that allow it, here an example left to right: 1) Base game (no zoom, no pixel perfect). 2) Base + zoom plugin (without pixel perfect). 3) Zoom+Pixel Perfect
Tumblr media
Or well, here a full screenshot example of with both plugins vs no plugin/base game.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
For sake not overwhelming myself I'll leave it here and give more when I remember lol.

Money issues under the cut.
My rent went up by a pretty significant amount when I renewed my lease in November - nearly $125 a month. I've budgeted appropriately and I'm going to be okay on that front, but I've just been told today that now my management company will be installing a new heating system, which will enable me to control the temperature in my unit, but which will now fall under my electrical bill. THIS is something I haven't budgeted for, and while I rarely use my AC in the summer, heating in the winter using the building's radiator heat was a blessing and a cost savings.
I'm looking at houses again. I can't afford anything. So that's. That's a thing.
It's just. It's always something.

From Sci-Fi to Reality: The Potential for Real-Life Mecha Inspired by Gundam!
I've watched mecha anime, the seriesVoltes V,Robotech, Video Senshi Laserion. In fact the great experience is watching Gundam anime.
In recent years, advances in robotics, artificial intelligence, and engineering have brought the idea of real-life mecha closer to reality. Inspired by iconic series like Gundam, researchers and engineers are exploring the possibilities of creating large, human-piloted robots. While we may not have fully functional Gundams yet, the progress made so far is promising. Let's delve into the current developments and the potential future of real mecha.
It happened during 2018
In Japan, engineer Masaaki Nagumo always dreamed of climbing into his very own Mobile Suit Gundam mecha. As an adult, he finally made that dream a reality.
Photos below:Sakakibara Kikai
Tumblr media
He created the 28-foot-tall, 7-tonne-heavy LW-Mononofu robot as a project for his employer, industrial machinery maker Sakakibara Kikai, in Japan’s  Gunma Prefecture. The metal colossus took six years to finish, and is probably the world’s largest anime-inspired robot that you can actually ride in and control. It can move its arms and fingers, turn its upper body, and walk forward and backward at a snail-like speed of 1km/hour. As any respectable mecha, it also has a weapon – a metal gun that fires sponge balls at a speed of 87 mph.T
The LW Mononofu can be powered by both a 200-volt AC electricity source and a 24-volt DC battery. Its cockpit features levers, pedals and buttons that the rider can use to control the movements of the robot, as well as monitors showing live footage shot by  cameras installed at five points on its gigantic body.
its only con is that it can't leave the hangar it was built in, because it is higher than the large door. It has to be dismantled to be taken out…
Despit this the enthuthiasts are determined to make the Giant mecha a real.
Well, thanks to the japanese company called Tsubame Industry, that dream is nearly becoming reality. Well, if we can afford paying it, of course. The small Japanese startup recently showcased its newest product, dubbed ‘ARCHAX’, a pilotable robot inspired by Japanese mecha culture. Standing a whopping 4.5 meters tall and weighing around 3.5 tons, this real-life mecha is powered by a 300V battery and can switch from a standing mode to drivable mode, attaining a top speed of 10 kilometers per hour.
Nonetheless,if someone desires to undergo the thrilling journey with the ARCHAX, he has to pay an estimated 400 million yen ($2.75 million) for one.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It's name is inspired by that of the flying dinosaur Archeopteryx – was recently showcased in a series of videos posted by Tsubame Industry, and the Japanese startup announced that a working version will be presented at the Japan Mobility Show 2023 (formerly the  Tokyo Motor Show) in November. As for when the mecha will hit the market, a Tsubame spokesperson said that it is expected to be available in about a year. However, considering the high price tag, the company is targeting wealthy foreign billionaires as potential clients.
Being made of iron and aluminum alloy, while the outer shell consists mainly of FRP (fiber-reinforced plastic). Although the head appears to feature a large  camera, it is only for show. In reality, the pilot maneuvering the ARCHAX will have footage captured by 26 different  cameras mounted all over the mecha fed into a number of monitors inside the cockpit. The control panel is reportedly similar to that of construction machinery, consisting of two joysticks, a number of pedals, and a touchscreen. Interestingly, the ARCHAX can also be remote-operated.
This mecha can move at a speed of 2 km/h, and in drive mode that speed is increased to 10 km/h. It’s not exactly soaring through the air like in video games, but it’s better than just standing still. It can tilt forward a maximum of 20 degrees in stand-up mode and 30 degrees in drive mode, to ensure that it doesn’t fall over. If these values are exceeded, the system shuts down to prevent serious accidents. The mecha is subject to risk assessment in accordance with the safety regulations of construction machinery and robots. His mechanical arms have 5 movable fingers, and it can grab a variety of things, still the weight of them is limited to 15 kilograms, for safety reasons. Trying to lift something heavy could cause the mecha to topple, putting the pilot at risk and damaging it.
Conclusion
The journey from science fiction to reality is a challenging but exciting path. While we may not see fully operational Gundams patrolling our cities in the immediate future, the advancements in robotics, AI, and engineering are bringing us closer to realizing the dream of real-life mecha. The fusion of technology and imagination continues to push the boundaries of what is possible, making the future of mecha an exhilarating topic to watch.

Agent Ace || Map of Harmont
Ever read Agent Ace and wonder where Sophia and Harley are relative to one another at any given time? So did I, and that's why I made this handy-dandy map of Harmont!
There are a lot of locations in Agent Ace, and the characters don't stay in one place for long. While you don't necessarily need to read the map to follow along in the story, if you're a visual learner like me, who sometimes has trouble keeping track of locations without a point of reference, then hopefully you can get as much use and enjoyment out of this map that I do!
Obligatory disclaimer that I am not a professional map maker. I drew heavy inspiration from maps of real cities I'm familiar with (I won't say which ones but if you know, you know), and distances, borders, etc. are not drawn to scale. Names of locations are also subject to change at any time, as I am incredibly critical and indecisive of my choices in such matters.
The map itself is made to be relatively simple so you can easily find each location. The black dotted line shows the trajectory of the light rail, and the white dotted line represents the island ferry. Districts are coordinated by color, and there are brief descriptions for each neighborhood below the cut. Bear in mind that some of these descriptions may contain spoilers for Agent Ace, so read at your own risk!
Tumblr media
MAKER'S DISTRICT
Champion: Match Girl Council Delegate: Orya Stockdale
ATWOOD
Area Commander: Morningstar
Cozy and retro; home to a number of restaurants, boutiques, and parks. Housing prices are especially high.
BARLOW
Area Commander: Sabre
Barlow is best known for being the location of the main training complex for new recruits of the Guard, adapted from a long-dead shopping mall. A quiet neighborhood that is much more affordable to live in, at the cost of a higher crime rate.
BENNIC
Area Commander: Scythe
The biggest commerical neighborhood in the Maker's District, home to an upbeat and close-knit community.
DARKSBURY
Area Commander: Witchsong
Over the years, Darksbury has built up an unfortunate reputation as an undesirable place to live. With a gritty environment and difficult living costs, this neighborhood seems to attract trouble.
LANDEM
Area Commander: Firebird
Landem's biggest features include an abundance of unconventional art installations and a weekend market flaunting local arts and crafts and vintage wares. Most of the restaurants here are fine dining, yet the housing is surprisingly affordable. Also the location of the city's annual Architect's Festival.
RITCHING
Area Commander: Celeste
Houses some of the best schools in the districts and decent public facilities. Looks may be deceiving, however, as violent crime is not uncommon.
TALAKE
Area Commander: Lumen
A relaxed lakeside neighborhood with lots of green space; perfect for picnics, casual athletics, and aquatic activities.
HUB DISTRICT
Champion: Talon Council Delegate: Cressida Manalis
ARKLEY
Area Commander: Rook
A quiet suburb with a sleepy village-vibe, Arkley boasts plenty of wildlife trails and a stunning view of the bay that shares its name. Beautiful but pricey.
BLUMOORE
Area Commander: Equinox
A vibrant neighborhood that appeals to both the serene and the wild side. The ritzy north end hosts cafes, bookstores, a celebrated florist shop, and old historic mansions that have been standing since before the Guardian era. On the other hand, the dynamic south end is much more lively when the sun goes down; bars and dance clubs are popular venues for block parties and live music. LOCATION(S) OF NOTE -Dorian's Garden (North End) -The Vibe (South End)
CONCORD
Area Commander: Sphinx
A small, robust neighborhood that's home to a variety of cultural eateries and coffee houses, but best known for its history museums and community food festivals. However, despite the reputation for having a generally friendly populace, many consider Concord unsafe at night.
DANTARY
Area Commander: Barracuda
Dantary is widely regarded as the heart of the city. The downtown market is a hot spot year-round, as is the Ferris Wheel docks by the harbor, which transform into an amusement park for four months of the year. Movie theaters, rooftop bars, and waterfront housing do make this one of the more expensive neighborhoods to live in, but the abundance of public transportation makes traversing these streets much easier. LOCATION(S) OF NOTE -Kinghaven Park
ENDEN
Area Commander: Jewelheart
Enden has the highest population of Guardians to compensate for the historically high violent crime. Coupled with the difficult schooling and housing in this area, people generally try to avoid this neighborhood at all costs.
KINGHAVEN
Area Commander: Scarlet Letter
Perhaps the most luxurious neighborhood Harmont has to offer, if the name is any indication. Buildings and skyscrapers imitate a Romanesque-style architecture that can't be found anywhere else in the city, and the collection of specialty shops, art galleries, and a grand stadium for sports and Guardian festivities make Kinghaven a must-see spot for any visitor.
LEXDON
Area Commander: Bishop
The de facto technology industry of Harmont, spearheading the movement of biotech development. Despite the presence of innovative warehouses and high-rise apartments and condos, housing and rentals are surprisingly affordable, even if night crime and traffic congestion are higher than usual. LOCATION(S) OF NOTE -Vigilante Complex -August's Apartment
PANDOR
Area Commander: Wren
Pandor is widely residential, thanks to its high appeal to the cultural side with soul food joints, tap rooms, museums, and a high-end performing arts center. Even with all of these amenities, Pandor makes plenty of room for green parks and playgrounds, keeping the neighborhood scene active but easygoing. LOCATION(S) OF NOTE -Frida's (Restaurant owned by Imani Clarke and Angel de Soto) -De Soto Residence -Manalis House
SKYLAR
Area Commander: Seraph
Known for its steep hills and stunning architecture, Skylar is the main hub for the Watch and the City Council. Uphill is home to upscale shops, bars, and some of the best views of the city, while garden venues adorn the downhill scene. LOCATION(S) OF NOTE -The Watchtower (Lower Skylar)
STOCKARD
Area Commander: Nightingale

Been trying to find a job out of state and move for the past few months.
In those few months: water heater broke and had to be replaced, AC started leaking condensate underneath my floors in 3 rooms (luckily the problem was due to a poorly implemented solution to something the plumbers broke last time so they covered the cost of fixing it), my kid's pc's memory fried itself, my Nintendo Switch's battery fried itself, my new home insurance canceled my policy because they want me to replace the entire roof for a few upturned shingles (definitely can't afford), my toilet started leaking from the bottom and had to be replaced (and then every toilet on the market was too tall because of the half counter the previous owners installed over the back of the toilet, so I had to have that cut out and then resurface the wall and fill in the gaps in the counter and shower tile then buy a shelving unit to help disguise the amateur solutions that work but don't look very pretty), and I sunk into a deep depression because there just aren't that many positions open in my field and I felt like I will be stuck here in this anti-trans state until it kills me.
So how's your summer going?

In light of the resurgence of Ace Attorney stuff I may as well plug my AA fics. This series is not, unfortunately, set during AJ or later games so it's not quite timely but if people are itching for wrightworth content I got you covered.
Set in the gaps between the Phoenix Wright/Gyakuten Saiban games. "Hard Times and Easy Living" follows the slow rebuilding of an old friendship into something more in the few moments of quiet afforded. === Rating for series is mainly Teen-Mature for long entries. Explicit subject matter is kept to its own short pieces.
(Unfortunately unfinished but we get as far as post-JFA. I do have future installments planned but they're not in progress at the moment.)
I also have a few AA oneshots among my works so take a peek at those too!

Anyone who tells you to ‘just get ac’ is a privileged idiot.
When I was 9 I lived in a house without ac and we looked into adding ac to the central air system.
It was 5k (yes, 5000) and that was the lowest quote we got, the hugest quote for it we got was 24k.
Obviously as a working class family, we couldn’t afford this. We tried to install window units and they don’t do much of anything. But even the 3 window units we bought were like 500.
I saw a guy from the UK on twitter get a quote to put AC in his house and it ended up almost being ten thousand pounds and his house wasn't even that big. I just wish people from places where AC and stuff is the norm would realise that it just isn't financially feasible for most folks here in the UK, not only because AC itself is expensive but I dread to think how much electricity those things burn though too, another thing that folks here are already spending way more than they need to, fucking greedy energy companies here are given a blank cheque by those Tory bastards to pretty much scalp people with insanely high prices as well
