The poverty in Afghanistan grows with every passing day, placing millions of people in life-threatening situations. The fall of the economy has resulted in a significant shortage in supplies whilst demands have skyrocketed. Our goal is to help rebuild a school that has over 3000 students in Kabul, the capital city of Afghanistan. We aim to raise donations for winter so too helps this school as much as possible that are in dire need, our focus will be on providing everything that's needed for both the students and teacher who have no means of income. The funding will be used in renting the school, desks and chairs, subject class textbooks, whiteboards & chalkboards, and school supplies such as notebooks, pens, pencils, water tanks for the students and financially supporting the children and teachers.

"At-least 460 children were killed in Afghanistan due to the violence in the first half of 2021," said UNICEF in it's recent report. The number in the report only shows only the verified deaths of the children by yhe UN. “Every day, 10 to 15 children who are brought here struggle with brain freeze. It is very dangerous in the current situation and this is all due to war and chemical materials that have affected the children,” said Mohammad Fahim, a therapist.   “It is a very desperate situation… the most pressing issue is hunger and malnutrition. (5/7) 40-year-old Faizmuhammad lives in Khwaja Baghlanak village in Samangan Province with his wife and three children. The oldest child is 10 years old and the youngest is two years old.

He built his house himself and has lived here for ten years. 

Many men in this area are farmers, others are shepherds he says. Faizmuhammad works as a labourer when he can find work.

“If I can find work, I can get 300 Afghanis a day. But for a long time we did not have work and in spring, there will still be no job security. Maybe some days I will be lucky and find work but I don’t know if I will find enough work.”

His wife cannot work because she needs to stay home to look after their two year old daughter.

“There was a drought and war and a very bad situation for us. The biggest difficulty for me is that I have no income. There is no stable income for my life. The thing we need most is food. We don't have anything to eat. We were selling our home appliances for food.”

There is no school in the village and his children are not getting an education because the closest school is too far away and he does not have the money to pay for their journey, he says.

“We don’t have water in this area for drinking. The water is 50 meters below ground and we do not have the means to dig a well and put a pump. We are taking the containers to collect water and bring it back to the village. I have to make two or three journeys to the river every week. Fun day for orphan children in Kabul, Afghanistan 🇦🇫

The Smile Givers once more pulled their sleeves up and will be planning another event for orphan children and disable children in Kabul, Afghanistan but to do this we need your help! For this event plan we want to divide our team of 15 into 4 groups, each group would be sent to a different orphanage! We will have a mass number of volunteers taking part which would build our team numbers. These events will consist food, educational activities, games and more. We will be providing the children a hands on activity that allows the children to explore the world with the use of a large world map! We will ask the children where they want to travel to give them information of the place and have them cut out and paste a mini version of themselves on the map over the country they dream of travel to one day! Our alternative activity is to do with arts and craft whereby we will encourage the children to paint freely with hands, feets, leaves, grass, tan bark and the likes! This activity is to promote their fine motor skills and gross motor skills!

This may seem very little to you, but the children of Afghanistan have seen very little of childhood due to the ongoing war that has stripped them of their childhood. What my team and I are trying to present to them is a small portion of childhood where we will do everything in our power to provide for them an education and an environment that allows them to laugh, play and be children!!
