'Portrait of Ranuccio Farnese', painted in 1653 by Italian painter Agostino Carracci (1557 – 1602). Carracci was an Italian painter, printmaker, tapestry designer, and art teacher. Together with his brother, Annibale, and cousin Ludovico Carracci, he was one of the founders of the Accademia degli Incamminati (Academy of the Progressives) in Bologna. It was a teaching academy which emphasized drawing from life.
