Unfortunately for all of us, it was Abigail (2024). There's something about a horror movie that's mostly blood and screaming...but with a tantalizing mention of a complex, cracked-mirror world slightly offscreen. It drives me nutty.

a reason i really love the minish cap figurines despite their ridiculous difficulty to obtain is because of how they add even more characterization to every single little thing within the game. hell, vaati's figurines tell an entire story of their own:

Minish Vaati: Before he became a sorcerer, he was a simple Minish. He had always been entranced by the evil that lives in the hearts of men…

Sorcerer Vaati: When the young Minish donned Ezlo's magic cap, he took this evil form. Now, he searches for the light force in his quest to become all-powerful.

Vaati Reborn: The sorcerer Vaati took this form after draining the power of the light force from Princess Zelda. The evil beams from his eyes are devastating.

Vaati Transfigured: Once Vaati's body has been shattered, this dark form rises up, all that remains of the evil sorcerer. Only the sacred Four Sword can defeat him.

Vaati's Wrath: This is the embodiment of purest evil, the final form of the power-mad Vaati. Its mind is consumed with a hunger for destruction. Find its weakness.

like. the pronoun switch from "he" to "it" in this context is genuinely kind of chilling. i think a lot about vaati and ezlo and i really do wonder what ezlo must've thought when faced with what vaati became. because on one hand, he absolutely and thoroughly denounces him throughout the game for his misdeeds. on the other hand, the fact that ezlo says that "vaati was only a boy" when he first took him on as an apprentice and also repeatedly begs vaati to just wait a damn second during their encounters in the game (the "why won't you wait?!" in the flashback is definitely something that makes me have a head-in-my-hands moment) is really kind of. telling. to me. because ezlo declares vaati to be evil SO annoyingly often that when you look at it from the context of their shared backstory, it almost starts to sound like ezlo is just constantly trying to convince himself that vaati is past the point of no return. especially when he has lines like "You haven't changed in the slightest." (like he was hoping for some sort of change) and "How...could he?!" (when realizing that vaati turned everyone to stone near the end of the game—even after everything, there's still disbelief within him) and "Hyrule Castle has grown dark... Perhaps this repulsive scene... is just a reflection of the evil lurking in the heart of my former student. ... ... Ah, what have I created? But don't worry about me, Link!" (which is clearly a "how could i have been so blind" internal ordeal happening. it's actually been happening throughout the entire game). and even though the figurine refers to vaati's final form as "it", ezlo still calls him "he" even after the battle is done and he's seen the absolute nightmare that vaati became. it's interesting to me.

Hullo!! Just wanted to give a belated thank you for all the well wishes, I really appreciate them all :'D I definitely seem to be on the mend! I've been having an...interesting health time this year, but I'm working on it. I've started getting more sleep, at least, which is helping — sleep deprivation makes my digestive issues way, way worse. And also makes it more likely that I'll get sick in general aksjdfksjdf

But yeah, anyway! With luck I will be able to get more things done this week, as long as I can avoid making my body rebel against me again!

Like, I… joke around about getting super angry about the fucked-up ecology of Horizon. Mostly because it’s fun to go on screeching all-caps rants about fictional settings that Oopsie-Daisy their plants and animals, but… even though it’s mostly just me being silly…

It DOES make me a little bit sad.

I mean, we know these guys consider there to be four “Pillars of the Horizon Game World;” Human Tribal/Preindustrial Societies, Animal-like Machines, “Ancient” Technology (which is just ours, advanced by about a half-century), and Beautiful Nature.

We know they consulted with people who build robots for Hollywood productions. And they consulted with anthropologists about how human societies form from scratch and the ways that the ruins and robots might affect their growth and leanings. How our civilization might have decayed in the time after its fall.

Which “pillar” didn’t get consultants?

Yeah.

This could have been a really good opportunity to talk to people who work out in the areas the game takes place in, and to fill them with things that live there now. It would have fit so nicely with the messaging of caring about the world you live in; look at what’s here, now. Look at what’s around you. You can preserve that. Hear that bird singing? If you live in the same area as Aloy, you can put down the controller and go outside and hear that same bird RIGHT NOW.

They could have spotlighted native species in need of understanding and conservation.

But they didn’t do that, and now you have to listen to me rant about lobsters in more ways than one, instead.

Rosy thought for the day: I do not think curse words enhance anyone’s speech, if I may so humbly share ♡

(I think there are many reasons people use them, and I will not judge or make assumptions ! I will simply share a few thoughts in case anyone finds it helpful)

When I hear speech with much cursing it looks to me like the speaker has a small vocabulary, and does not know how to communicate well honestly.

Cursing also makes others uncomfortable! Why use bad language when you can speak in a way that is welcoming, uplifting, and encouraging to others ?? c:

So all in all I think speech can be very powerful! (Though I do find it is better to listen than to speak) If we must speak let words be for wisdom and for good !! Because this makes a difference ! ♡

These are just my small thoughts though! I mean not to offend, but only share something that might be helpful :’)

First off, with "Double Jump", "Roll", and "Airdash". All that came from their respective signs, with the only things on them that isn't the character and the movement lines, which is where "Movement" comes from.

The “Tech Roll/Long Jump” sparkle comes from the sparkle that emits from the player when Tech Rolling (that is, a special fast move performed by Airdashing close to the ground then Rolling) or just Long Jumping in midair fhdsjk

"Jumping, I guess" comes from the yellow circle that appears below the player to help them see where they're landing. It's not really anything, if anything, it's nothing. I just wanted something there because Gamzee has something there. It used to be a sort of wedge-shape as a nod to that Damned Wedge, but nah. Capri has nothing to do with that thing .. kind of the opposite, really fhdskj
