I've mentioned before that Raf wakes up at like--5:30am most mornings to go for an hour long morning jog. And like--rain or shine, he will get his morning run in. The cardio is a desired bonus, but the real goal of his morning jogs is to exhaust all the energy that would otherwise invest itself into fueling anxiety and paranoid fixations. And it actually kinda works [as one measure among several others he performs throughout his day to day].

Margie does... no exercise. She loves to walk--at a leisurely pace. She doesn't like exercising as an activity. The exercise has to be disguised as something else. You can get her to flip rocks during low tide for hours--she'll do it till she's ready to collapse. It's not exercise, it's looking for neat little creachurs!!

But like--the chances she gets to go and do that, especially in the city, are few and far between. And there's not much else that motivates her to go out and get sweaty, sore, and exhausted lmao There's no part of it that she enjoys. Especially not as a regular daily activity...

Raf kinda worries about her in that regard. He can't really imagine neglecting his exercises. Aside from the jogging, the his wednesday and friday lunches go longer because those are exercise days (sundays as well). He describes it as a pretty "bare minimum" maintenance routine, but it's a hygene thing to him, like showering, shaving, and cleaning house. The fact that Margie does not--and has never done--regular exercise for her health is like...Please, u gotta at least go on brisk walks around the block once a day. You gotta.

I have to wonder if Raf ever attempted to get margie up at 5:30 with him for a morning run. She mighta been enthusiastic about the idea initially, the night before (just because...she enjoys doing things with Raf, generally), but uh... 5:30am Margie is a picture of suffering. 5:30am Margie being made to run...feels like a violation of the geneva conventions. She's just so sad and slow-brained...and her little whining complaints are half-jibberish...so many pathetic bleatings....

Nope, morning jogs remain a solo ritual for Raf to perform alone...He can't deal with the pain of dragging margie along for it lmao. The sanctity of a peaceful morning must be maintained. He'll just have to...take her out on more walks in the evenenings, instead.

#Ah well...#At least he always looks forward to returning home from a run to shower and shave and kiss Margie awake in good spirit.#It's never enough to actually get her up but it primes her...#The smell of coffee is usually what gets her out of bed...eventually.
