Hi Mod I am still rereading your comics, and can I just say that Nitrate Burn remains one of the most bittersweet things I’ve ever seen in the ahit fandom? I’m pretty sure it was the comic that made me initially follow you actually.

The story telling is incredible, especially the scenes that cut back and forth between the film and the forest. The idea of it as a whole feels like a great way of building on established canon, and the idea of the Conductor falling in love with a fire spirit is just so tragic.

Also I love the characterization, especially Snatcher’s general lawyerness and DJ Grooves’ genuine concern once he realizes why the Conductor’s face was bandaged. The Conductor is, of course, the star of the show and I loved seeing this take on him!

This comic still comes back to me sometimes every few months when I inevitably fall back into the ahit fixation, and I can safely say that it’s been integrated into my headcanons.

Once again, thank you for putting your beautiful comics out into the world.

Ahit Comic: Featuring my Oc Kuu the fire spirit!

These two have lots of story behind them, this comic being the first PROPER time the two have met! While their first official time is still being worked on (CANT decide if it should’ve have been at mustaches girl’s castle where she judged all the bad guys or if I should go with my initial plan where he got stranded in Subcon village and ran into her and other fire spirits)

Either way hat kid drags him back to the forest because she befiends Kuu and realizes Conductor is Head over heels for her! Hat kid is definitely the type to think she’s a matchmaker Cupid 😭 of course when they do meet.m Conductor can’t seem to find his words and wel.. SQUAK.. poor guy,,

hmmm some random ahit holiday headcanons

- The mafia celebrate a holiday called Fishmas. It's basically Christmas except everything is fish themed. Their holiday lights are shaped like fish. It never snows in mafia town and I'm pretty sure the only trees there are palm trees, so they decorate the palm trees with lights and garlands and stuff. It's chillier than usual in winter even if there's no snow so they might dress a bit warmer than usual but probably not heavy coats or anything

- the people originally from the island don't celebrate that, though, it's just the mafia. Mu used to celebrate a holiday called Star Day with her family. It was celebrated winter solstice (the longest night of the year) and is usually spent stargazing with friends and family. Stories would be shared about constellations, like legends and mythology and stuff. Mu doesn't really celebrate anymore because she doesn't have a way of getting decorations and if she tried to throw a party of any kind the mafia would ruin it, but she might still try to give little gifts to the coffee clerks and stuff.

- idk what they'd call it but I think the owls would like. get a week off of work and school and all that to spend at home with family. Probably a lot of bird food, like idk birdseed pie or something. Conductor spends the holiday with his whole family, they all get together (his brothers, kids, grandkids, etc.) and eat a big meal. They don't really give gifts other than the food, but Cond usually tries to release a holiday movie before then and he'd watch that with his family. It's cold so they hang out around the fire place. Cond probably drinks too much =/

- Penguins just celebrate the new year. Celebrations are pretty much the same as normal (as in our world I mean), but again I think Grooves releases a holiday movie. He gets very dressed up and throws a big party. He would absolutely have those sunglasses that say the year on them. He gets gifts for like, all the penguins, and they all get gifts for him too. How do they determine the time (for midnight) if they're on the moon you ask? Um lol idk I don't care don't talk to me

- Subcon has a very old holiday called Day of the Frost that is based on an old legend that was probably true about a being with ice powers that covered the world in ice and snow. (Very old legend, started long before Vanessa was born, I say it's probably true because someone before her probably had ice powers, maybe even her ancestor or something.) Because of the legend's nature being kinda creepy, the holiday generally has a campfire story kinda tradition (except it's more often around a fireplace instead of a campfire). Snatcher owns a lot of old books that were common day of the frost stories, and he still reads them sometimes around the holidays.

- it does snow in Subcon in winter, but it's usually a pretty light snow (what with the constantly burning forests and shit lol) unless it's near Vanessa's manner, where it gets pecking blizzards. The fire spirits have trouble burning bright enough to die in the cold, but they try to burn as bright as they can, so they might stay indoors or huddle up close to each-other by a fire.

- Alpine celebrates Twilight Fest, which is about celebrating their history and the Twilight Goat through spending time with their community with games and treats. At home, they'd probably eat a lot of soups and pastries, and common festival food would include a lot of sweets and maybe some kind of nut coated in cinnamon or caramel or something. Like Star Day, it can include star gazing and discussion of constellations, but it's usually a bit more focused on ringing bells and playing songs.

- The ocean would be frozen over in winter, so boats would have a hard time going anywhere lol. The Walrus Captain and the seals wouldn't have work because of that. Not sure if they'd have a specific holiday, but they'd get a break from work. I could picture the seals making snowmen or something tbh.

- I think the metro also just celebrates New Year? A lot of the stores probably go on sale for people to buy gifts. A lot of winter-specific foods and drinks at the restaurants, like hot chocolate with peppermint or something. Timmy just goes to McDonyald's to eat chicken nuggets because he doesn't care but Bow would probably love the holiday drinks. A lot of holiday decorations all over the place, lots of pretty lights and stuff.

- Hat and Bow din't really celebrate any winter holidays back home, but they're happy to join their friends to celebrate whatever on this planet. Some of these take place over multiple days, so they have the time to celebrate a buncha stuff. I imagine they'd both prioritize spending time with Mu, just so that she has someone to talk about the island's old holidays with and have a little mini celebration or party. Maybe they'd also get cooking cat, and they'd bake holiday treats together. Hat and Bow could maybe try to get some decorations together for Mu's cave.

- Not sure about badge seller and tourist. Idk if badge is even from that world?? They feel like they might be from another dimension so idk if there are holidays there lol. I can't really picture them celebrating much. Tourist might celebrate something but idk what, he'd probably enjoy travelling around and seeing the winter holidays all over though.

- Hat and Bow like the holiday lights, they put those around the ship. Maybe they give Rumbi a silly little Santa hat or something.

This is Cherry!! also nicknamed Cherry Bomb She’s the twin sister of Cheryl and daughter of Kuu, both of whom belong to @sunnzii 

Some notes I wrote on her:

~Looks frail and petit but don't let that fool you, this girl's a champion fighter with a huge win streak under her belt. She got into competitive fighting after nearly setting fire to Dead Bird Studio during a burst of anger, and so turned to competitive fighting as a way to let out pent up aggression and anger so she doesn't hurt anyone she loves by accident.

~Personality wise she's a "calm and chill but secretly a ticking timebomb" type of person if that makes sense. She's as sweet as can be and willing to give someone the clothes off her back if they needed it, but she gets her temper from her father, the Conductor. She's rather easy to anger and could set fire to the surrounding area if she didn't keep that anger in check.

~Outside of fighting, she's a painter!! A very talented one at that! Paintings she scraps or doesn't like she gives to the fire spirits in Subcon Forest for their fire pits.

HOO okay please bear in mind that im a bit tipsy rn so i have no idea if any of this will make sense. plus a lot of it is mainly my own personal AU/headcanons that are borderline "ok this is nothing like the original story u should probably make it into ur own thing"

A lot of my ideas revolve around subcon & its backstory which is heavily inspired by the actual cut content of the zone + some stuff from shane frost's (one of the artists on ahit who designed a few characters) comics.

IN ESSENCE for my au there is a "being" trapped underneath subcon that was put there by entities like the Moonjumper. I like to think that there were four of them. One for the moon (Moonjumper), one for the sun & one for the stars. The trapped being is what the fourth one would've been (like void or some shit like that). Anyways that trapped one's essence had been leaking into subcon and corrupting the forest + other parts of the world (tldr thanks in part to Vanessa's episode and one of my own ocs who had been investigated this stuff) & is the source of Vanessa's curse

(oc was like. a teacher/mentor for vanessa cuz yknow royalty gets special private education or smthn like that)

ANYWAYS

i had actually designed one of the horizon deities but its old art so. yknow a lot of it wouldnt rly be accurate anymore. obviously based off of alpine skyline's storybook. the cut "sand and sails" level would've had one that partially resembled the conductor but crossed with a phoenix. i never settled on a name but it'd have "sun" it it somewhere. probably like. The sunswarm or sunstorm. idk.

These guys were trapped in the horizon when they sealed the fourth one away & they'd look fucked up b/c of it, which is why the moonjumper looks so. yknow.

there's a ton more that i wont get into (the source of the fire spirits, hat kid and the timepieces, just exactly what the horizon is ect ect). its something i've mainly kept to myself out of fear of being "cringe" or whatever but who cares anymore

ok so shane frost in this post said “Fire of the fox spirits that fell from the meteors”, which is chill on its own. 

HOWEVER!!!

checking the fourth story book page of The Twilight Ascent, WHAT THE FCK DO WE SEE

motherfuckign meteors,,,,,coming FROM alpine,,,,,,,

ive done a fuck ton of digging and there arent any other meteors in a hat in time (unless i missed anything in the arctic cruise but i dont think i did). all of the other stars in the alpine story books are all green, so these are Different,,,,,

ALSO ALSO

the twilight bell and the windmill are the only things that the nomads built (the windmill being shown and the twilight bell not being there while TG was metatating). the birdhouse (which i have been too scared to touch wtf is it) and the lava cake were there before the nomads.

CONCLUSION: i have no clue what happened to the lava cake, but i think it has to do with the fire spirits (which ill explore in FMQ :flushed:)
