I was struck with the desire to do a jellyfish mermaid. This was the second version of this drawing and like how it turned out.

I have a lot going on this week so I wanted to share an OC sketchbook dump. However, I spent way too long on this because I forgot the best way to get my regular ole sketches into a digital platform. I want to do this in the more in the future so I'll work on the technique so it looks better next time. I even threw in a few characters from some of my old high school stories.

I was playing with the idea of redesigning my OC Aileene. So this is a slight redesign as I work to find an update that I'm really satisfied with but I do like this for the time being. Also, I don't typically give Aileene as much love.

Since today is National Sibling Day, I figured I'd highlight my OCs and their siblings. I almost did a drawing of my brothers and I but I thought about it too late so hopefully next year! For now my lovely OCs. A ton of my other OCs do have siblings but I’ve neither named nor designed them so I’m only highlighting the siblings already established.

For those who keep up with my art, Zeke and Kimmie may be a surprise but they are step siblings.

For February I decided to draw a girl's night in a blanket fort! This month we have Rielee, Aileene, Zariya, & Leila. None of these girls actually interact in their individual spaces except for Rielee and Zariya like one time 😅 That's the fun part of these group bday drawings.

Real quick pause from the celebration and important news to bring 3 of my girls to your attention. I always internally think of Castalia, Crystal, and Aileene as the popular girls of my OCs. They're not mean girls but they are the ones to be jealous of.

Happy Birthday to my girl Aileene! Her memory is the time her parents sent her old music box. She lost her music box years ago so it was nice being reunited.

The elder Featherhook sister is back for her birthday! 

Aileene enjoys wine, parties (more of the classy type), and wedges. She dislikes loud music, miss-matched items, and inappropriate sayings. She’s hardheaded and a perfectionist. Aileene’s favorite food is pasta.

So I decided that since its Valentine’s Day that I’d do some drawings of my OC couples. I wanted to try and make cheesy Valentine’s cards with fun sayings but time was not on my side so I went with simple drawings.

Today is Aileene's birthday so here she is as a kid. Her ability is simply being able to fly. She was always a reserved flyer compared to her little sister. I decided to do ink and watercolors as the main medium. I don't use either often so this was fun challenge.

I bought a mixed media sketchbook for this year's posts so I can experiment and practice mediums I don't use often. So some of the drawings I do this year may not be as strong but it will be worth the exploration. Also the color restraint I'm putting on myself is also to push me further.

And by doing this traditionally its forcing me to commit to what I draw and adapt as I go. Like i might go back and make the bg black later.

This is Aileene Featherhook, my first official OC in my records. She is half human/half bird (essentially she’s a person with wings). She’s the older sister of Saira (another OC). She’s classy and persuasive. Her original name was Ai but it was changed to better suit her so now its her nickname. She enjoys springtime and Classical music. She dislikes dogs, messy things, and the color green (despite her eyes being green...and her sister’s...and her roommate’s...and her roommate is a plant fairy...I don’t know why i decided this)

Aileene wasn't sure if she wanted to be Aphrodite or Mother Nature. She just knew she wanted an excuse to wear a nice dress abd probably a flower crown.
