I was struck with the desire to do a jellyfish mermaid. This was the second version of this drawing and like how it turned out.

It's time for some OC Mermay art! I'm looking forward to having a theme for this month. Starting off this year, I have the friend duo Parivash and Cherry. I want to explore more interactions with OCs that have connections that I don't draw together consistently.

I'm always avoiding drawing my OCs in profile so this was a way to push myself. Can't improve if you don't practice, right? Heather's enjoying a rainy day. I actually drew this a month ago and delayed posting because of mermay. I almost forgot I never posted this.

This week is the shadow twins Khiara and Maura. Maybe I should've used a more contrasting duo for this overlapping pose but it was fun drawing them. I really like how the sketch came together in the end.

To end mermay, I thought it would be nice to do a little animation. Here's my boy Jaheem swimming. This was going to be a gif but the file was too big.

This week we have a mer zombie with Mas. He's also has his skelekitty. One of these days I'll draw these two's anatomy accurately.

Got so caught up in my dnd brainworms that I almost didn't do anything for Mermay. Continuing what I did last and reimagining some of my OCs are mermaids. This week, I drew one of my human OCs, Anara with some fish.

I was looking at an old lineart drawing of an OC where I used a color from the character as the background color and wanted to try it again. Ember was a nice character for this little exercise.

Last week, I got to participate in a western dnd oneshot so I wanted to show off my character! It's one of my dragon loving OCs, Grace. For the oneshot she is an aarakocra beast master ranger. Her design is based on a Costa's Hummingbird. Not pictured is her primal beast of the land (who is named after her canon dragons) Bruno.

Also most of the party was over 6 ft tall and I made this girl 4'10. (I drew this before I decided on her height)

Ngl my month is pretty busy so it's going to be a lot of quick drawings from here on out. I found another old sketch that I decided to give color. This is from the villain story I've drawn characters from in the past. Calamity finds herself alone after a battle ends differently than planned.

One last drawing for this mermay with my oc Odeda. With these mermaid drawings, I utilize the existing colors and figure out how to incorporate it. Odeda almost ended up with a camo tail but couldn't bring myself to do that. Also I never draw Odeda without her glasses, so this feels weird. I wanted to do this pose this year, I'm glad I was able to get it in.

Earlier this month, I participated in one shot for my friend's birthday. I wised up when creating my character and utilized one of my many existing OCs. Zariya is usually a human aerial dancer in a traveling circus but for this, she was an air genasi who became a monk. I love a character that hits hard.

This week we have 3 of my OCs with more homemade costumes. From left to right, we have Ira (mummy), DREA (ghost), and CHIA (robot). Can you tell who's not really feeling the Halloween spirit. Also ngl I can't get over how I drew my boy Ira.

Another old sketch redraw. I felt like doing some lineless art since it's been quite a minute. This is my OC Harun, who is sorcerer, casting a spell.

I wanted to do a cute drawing for Christmas with my OCs so here's a little double date with Kane & Batya and Jaime & LJ. Kane and LJ are roommates so it's not uncommon for the couples to hang out together. Why I doubled down on Jaime wearing green in front of the tree is beyond me but I committed.

I told myself I want to try to animate at least once a month and then planned nothing lol. So another quick animation this month, this time with my OC Kane. I will say, by the end of 2025 I better have a better understand of TVPaint than I do now because currently not a fan of the gif exports. So this is a regular video instead of a gif as I intended.
