Today was an awful day, Alberto decided.

His day was littered with small screw ups and he found himself feeling worse than he should about them. He hadn't even done that bad of a job today—all things considered.

He had just accidentally dropped people's food a ridiculous amount of times, accidentally hit poor old Bianca in the face with a fish, and accidentally tripped over himself approximately 8 times.

Oh boy, he really had screwed up today hadn't he?

And no he wasn't spatastrophizing or whatever that weird word Gulia had called him a few months ago was.

He was fine. Everyone has bad days like this. And he wasn't hiding in his room trying desperately not to cry because it's almost dinner time.

Who would cry about something like this? Definitely not Alberto, nope, no thanks.

But why would Massimo even want to keep him around if he kept screwing up like this? He wasn't earning any of this kindness, and he wasn't improving fast enough, and he had to get better better better before Massimo realized what everyone else already had—that he was sinking valuable resources into a lost cause.

Alberto had to work harder. He had to get better or get left behind.

Alberto was sitting with his knees to his chest, hands gripping his curly hair, and yep okay he was crying now.

The thing was Alberto was working hard. And he still wasn't good enough? Clearly, considering he failed over and over again at the most basic things.

Maybe that was his destiny? To try and try and try and never be good? Maybe he wasn't capable of being enough. Maybe that's why everyone left him.

But everyone hasn't left you! His mind tried. Massimo, Luca, Guilia, Luca's family, even the cat! They all stayed, they all care!

Pity, probably. They were all too charitable, too nice. Alberto knew he didn't deserve it. They probably did too.

No! Love, not pity!

If he realized he was a lost cause, it wouldn't be long before Massimo did too, Alberto realized, feeling panic crawl up his throat. This charade could only last so long. Massimo was getting rid of him soon soon soon.

Everything was feeling fuzzy and far away and so much all at the same time. He was gasping and gasping and gasping and getting no air. His lungs crashed up and down without his control. His fingers were suddenly yanking at his curls hard. The pain was supposed to be grounding but it quickly became another thing Alberto lost control over.

This was bad.

The steps up to Giulias old room creaked as a gruff sounding voice called out, "Alberto?"

Massimo.

This was worse.

Alberto clamped a hand over his useless gasping mouth.

What was he going to tell Massimo if he found him like this? Sorry, I just can't breathe because I know that you're going to get rid of me, it's no big deal though. Let's go have pasta! Yeah. That'd go great he bets.

Massimo would have to deal with another one of Albertos screw ups. Would this one push him over the edge?

Massimo called out a few more times, and Alberto sat in the corner of Guilias room, shaking, trying to desperately pull himself together.

Please don't come upstairs please don't come upstairs please dont—

So Massimo had come upstairs.

"Alberto..." He said, voice uncharacteristically soft.

Suddenly Massimo was crouched in front of Alberto, on the floor.

Alberto tried his best to be quiet, his dad before always got mad when he threw tantrums like this. He hated how whiney and annoying he sounded when he failed to hold back a gasping sob. He looked away from Massimo. He didn't want to see what face he was making.

"Look at me. You need to breathe, son." There was something incredibly comforting about Massimos way of speaking, and Albertos heart ached at being called son so easily. The fuzzy panic was still here, plaguing his insides, but it felt a little less oppressive. 'Dad is here, Dad is here, Dad is here,' his mind chanted.

Alberto looked up. Massimos face held nothing but concern and care and it made him want to cry for a whole other reason.

"Follow me." Massimo said, simply. He took slow deep breaths. Alberto tried his best to follow. I mean; he's gotta at least be able to breath right, yeah? Apparently not.

He choked on his breath. A few times. But Massimo looked at him with such encouragement that he just had to keep trying. And he did.

So now, Alberto was sitting here, feeling a lot more real and there, no longer drowning in the air. He would say that's a pretty good lifestyle improvement.

He was still shaking a little though, which wasn't very cool.

Suddenly he was wrapped up in warm, sturdy arms and he almoat started crying again. "What happened, my boy?"

Now was the hardest part. What was he supposed to say?

"I just...had a bad day, I guess." Alberto muttered into Massimos shoulder, cringing at the way his voice came out after crying. "M'sorry," he added lamely.

"There's nothing to be sorry for," Massimo said, in a way that made it sound like a simple fact. "Do you want to talk?"

Alberto nodded, and although Massimo pulled away from the hug, he kept a hand on the boys knee.

"Uhm—I just. I screwed a lot of things up. And I was thinking..." Alberto sucked in a sharp breath, "That you might not be a big fan of that? Or...really. Want me around? I know I'm not very—"

"Alberto. You belong here. That will not change."

"But—"

"You are a hard worker. Smart. Funny. Kind. Good."

"I don't deserve this!" Alberto said, and it was a desperate, broken sound.

Massimos expression was suprised, then steady. "You do."

Something about that broke Alberto all over again, and he was leaning into the other man's shoulder, shuddering with tears. He felt bad for getting his shirt wet, but there wasn't much he could do.

They stayed for a while, Massimo rubbing small circles on the boys back. When Albertos neck was sore from the way he was straining it. And when he felt stable and tired and a little sweaty, he broke away.

"Thank you, Massimo," he said, though it didn't come close to conveying how he felt.

Massimo just nodded, as if it was the most normal thing in the world.

"You know what I used to do with Guilia when she had a bad day?"

"What?" Alberto said, suddenly eager. Stories from Massimo were a rare and treasured thing.

"This." And suddenly large, warm, hands were scribbling all over Albertos tummy.

"Ah! Ahah! Mahahahsihihimo! Wh—Ahahah!"

Tingles exploded in Albertos torso, and he finally understood what people meant when they talked about butterflies.

"Yes?"

"Ihihit! Ihihihit TihiHihCklehehes! Hehahahaha!"

"Good."

As he squirmed helplessly under his father figures fingers, he realized that this was actually really nice.

Just laughing. Without a care in the world.

Massimo attacked Albertos ribs with a dexterity that said experience, and Alberto threw his head back with a squeal bursting into a bout of squeaky laughter.

"Ahahahah! Dahahahad! Ihihihihi—Ihihihihi Cahahahant!"

"Can't what?" Somehow Massimos quiet, blunt teasing was making Alberto more flustered.

"Ihihihihi dohohohohohnt knohohohhohhow!"

He was met with a hum and fingers creeping up into Albertos armpits, scritch-scratching with blunt nails.

Alberto screeched before dissolving into boisterous laughter. His arms crashed down and he wiggled around like some kind of teen-boy-fish-worm.

"WAHAHAHAHA! AHAHAAH—DAHAHAHAHAHAD!"

"Yes?"

"GEHEHEHEHT OHOHOHOUT! AHAHAHA!"

"I'm stuck."

"NAHAHAHAHA! DOHOHOHOHOHONT TEHEHEHEHAHASE!"

Massimo remained there a moment longer, before relenting. Instead, he brought his fingers up to skitter around Albertos neck and ears. Giggles poured out of Albertos mouth and he shook his head back and forth with mirth.

"Mhmhmh! Fahahahah! Ihihihihi—Ahahahaha!" Alberto didn't know what he was trying to say, but whatever it was it was beyond lost in translation. His brain was fizzling with giggles and butterflies.

If his eyes weren't squeezed shut with laughter, Alberto wouldve seen how Massimo was smiling down at him as if he were the most amazing thing in the world.

Massimo's fingers slowed, and Alberto caught his breath.

"You must be hungry."

"Yehe—" Alberto cleared his throat, "Yeah, I guess I am." He was still giggly and smiling with pink cheeks.

"Dinner is done." Massimo said, before getting up and offering a hand to the boy. Alberto took it, and was shocked to find himself not letting go after he was up.

"I...I love you papá," Alberto said, wearing an expression that looked so fragile, that Massimo was almost afraid to say anything at all.

"I love you too son. Don't forget."

2. Where is their most ticklish spot(s)?

Her toes. That’s her secret 9/10 spot. You can get her to laugh by tickling other places, but that spot totally makes her helpless.

Her armpits. The feet and the knees are close runners-up.

Uh, his whole body? 😂 His feet are his weakest, but between the toes absolutely kills him.

As we've all seen, she's very ticklish on her feet, but her actual most vulnerable spot is her sides.

Her hips and feet, but she’s sensitive all over!

Trying to find Suki’s most ticklish spot is like trying to find a ping pong ball in a pile of eggs.

There’s a spot right in the middle of the arch of her foot, and one on her lower back near the ribs, and one right below her belly button, that drive her crazy. >:)

Fittingly for Loki, his are a bit unusual - his calves and behind his ears.

3. Which spots are they not ticklish?

Normal places. Arms, lower legs, shoulders, hands, etc.

Her belly button, surprisingly. The rest of her tummy is very ticklish, but getting in there doesn’t seem to cause much reaction.

Maybe his arms?

Her neck and shoulders, her arms.

Anything around the head or face. No ears either.

She seriously doesn’t have any. 😂 She's a walking giggle zone.

Her knees. The usual places, mostly.

He's actually not ticklish in most places; with Loki it's all about extremely specific pressure points. Like you have to get between two certain ribs to make him flinch, not just the whole ribcage.

4. What is their laugh like?

A dry, slow, husky chuckle. Gets a lot more soft and fluttery if you touch her weak spot.

Cackling belly laughs. Like Natasha, her voice is deep and rough, and heavily accented.

High-pitched and very fast, with lots of gasping and voice cracks. He’s extremely giggly.

The definition of “bubbly.” Loud laughs from deep in her tummy, just bursting with sunshiny energy.

Oh, she's a screamer. 😅 You can get her into hysterics and in tears almost immediately.

Starts off with gentler laughs, and then grows into forceful, hard-to-control giggles and guffaws. Her laugh is actually really cute. ^^ [link]

He really holds it in and panics. Lots of teeth grinding and grunting with the occasional "Kkhah!" sound escaping from his throat.

She & Yelena found out pretty early that tickling was a good form of competition between them. Nat's a total tickle monster in a friends/family setting.

Her dominant side is a bit more vicious than Nat's; she loves pinning friends/family down and tickling them silly. Such an endorphin rush. Given her upbringing, she misses close, affectionate physical contact.

N-no! 😳 (Well…tickling is really fun with Luca & Giulia. Especially when he holds them down. Or vice versa.)

Ler. She’s the reigning champion at tickle fights in their house. Always enjoyed torturing her sis.

Ler. If Yelena’s not tickle-wrestling with Nat, she’s coming up with all-new, all-flustery ways to tease that helpless little puppy Kate. 😈

Alberto’s a ler, and a vicious one. He absolutely loves making Luca squirm. Very skilled with his fingers.

A lee, I guess? She's been captured and tickle-tortured for information more than once, but aside from that, tickles aren't a big part of her life.

Ler. She’ll go after anyone in…arm’s reach. (ducks to avoid thrown objects) But she’s more than happy to switch it up. 😁

Lee…not by choice. Most people find her an incredibly tempting target. So sensitive she often gets tickled entirely by accident.

It's about a pretty even split! She's a mischievous girl...likes getting her friends but is a target just as often.

Yelena. And in an alternate timeline where they can all be together, Kate Bishop. Constantly. Every time she's sad or bratty. XD

April's not much of a tickler. She does it sometimes, but not often.

Anyone she feels like tickling! Her opponents in the ARMS League, friends at the gym, customers in her candy store, kids she performs her clown act in front of...she just can't stop herself!

She tickles a lot of people, and they usually get her back.

Sokka, most often. He's way too much of a prankster to let her be. But Katara and Toph love to tickle her too, not to mention her subordinates in the Kyoshi Warriors.

Her friends. And Robin. And super-villains, mostly. 😂

Only Lady Sif and Sylvie (ie, himself) know where his tickle spots are and occasionally like to screw with him.

No, it makes her grin like a Cheshire cat and get into combat mode.

With Yelena or Kate, no. With everyone else? Not “embarrassed,” per se, but will definitely try to hide it.

It's less that Yelena wants to hide the fact that she's ticklish, and more that she wants to hide the fact that she enjoys it. Granted, her sensitivity isn't information that she'll just spit out willingly.

He always tries to act like he’s a badass and that tickling won’t bother him too much…...until it actually happens.

Never. She’s super-open about how much tickles delight her. Everyone knows.

While she doesn't hate being tickled in a more friendly context, she will absolutely deny it if pressed. She's a reporter...gotta keep her secrets close. But if she knows you like it, and you have info she wants, she might tease you with it.

A more accurate word would be “panicked.” She knows she can’t hide how sensitive she is, so she just clasps her hands to her sides and runs.

Depends on who she’s talking to. Her girlfriends all know she’s ticklish, but as a superhero in training, Barb is a little embarrassed by having a potential weakness.

Very. He's a god! While he's not deathly ticklish, being susceptible to any such thing frustrates and flusters him. He'll either scoff or stammer if you ask him about it.

On her toes, gentle tickling can break her. Everywhere else, she responds more to rough tickles.

Her armpits. But only when Yelena or Kate do it, obvs.

She spent much of her life deprived of intimacy. So her favorite spots to be tickled usually require close physical contact or being pinned down...her sides, her hips, thighs, etc.

His favorite spot to get tickled is his tummy. Kinda goes back and forth on whether he likes it when friends go after his feet.

April kind of likes it when massages or pedicures tickle. There's just something cute about that. It's more situational than spot-based.

Belly tickles are her most favorite! ^^ She also likes being bounced around like a basketball when she's blown up...that strangely tickles her whole body in a weird, fun way!

That would require her to not freak out at the mere thought of being tickled.

She has a fondness for back scratches (and sometimes getting her sides playfully touched).

She prides herself on her self-control and resilience...playing with her toes is the only way to make her lose control. That's what she hates.

If you get in that little bridge of skin between the armpits and the top of the ribcage, you can make her do anything.

He can barely stand it anywhere! (His toes though. Oh my god his toes. It’s too much; he’ll cry. 😂)

Not any particular one. She's got spots more sensitive than the others, but you can't really pin down one "oh god no" point.

Nope! She loves tickling no matter where it is! Anything to make herself and others laugh. Though she's not always super-fond of getting her soles tickled...not because it's awful, but because she's kind of embarrassed by how big her feet are. They're like, 13s.

All the freakin' time. Only with Yelena & Kate though. One of her favorite tactics is to put her arm around their shoulder and slowwwwly glide it down to their side aaaaand...

She'd never admit that she likes being tickled. Her attacks are much more aggressive and less sneaky than her sister's, without much thought given to possible retaliation.

He loves to sneak up behind Luca and tickle his feet when they’re underwater. He’s not above brushing his friends’ bellies with his fish tail either.

April only did that once, and isn't really sure why. She was trying to keep her camera away from Mikey and raised it high above her head, suspecting he would tickle her armpits.

If Lola wants to be tickled she'll just straight-up tell you. Most of the time her method of asking is just to strike first.

ABSOLUTELY NOT. Why would anyone ever do that?!

She doesn't ever really consciously think "I want to get tickled," but when an impish mood strikes her, she'll poke a friend in the side until they return the favor.

Oh she doesn't like being teased...but in a fun way. Like it kinda ticks her off and makes her weaker, but it gets her wound up and energetic too.

If he's on the verge of laughing, it might make him start to panic a bit.

Wow, I was REALLY not expecting that Monsters Inc/Luca thought blurb I had yesterday to get so much traction. hahaha

Something about the idea just struck me so I threw this together in Photoshop just to illustrate the kind of scenario I was thinking about.

Their appearance as humans started to freak a lot of the monsters out...still deeply-ingrained ideas about toxic children. Luckily, it seems eating monster food keeps them in sea-creature form longer. Basically all they have to do is chug a Drooler Cooler and they're good for a couple of hours.

"I'm basically an expert on this."

"He actually is this time!"

"Not everyone can be great at comedy. But whether you're funny or not, everyone can make their friends laugh!"

Ok I’m sorry but I watched both of these things for the first time today and had a really stupid idea but I need to get it out of my head.

The world of Monster’s Inc. keeps tabs on any monsters that exist in our reality, including any that have been banished…the abominable snowman, Loch Ness, Bigfoot, and of course sea monsters. Just for safety.

As we see in Monsters At Work, their world is running low on juice. Not enough monsters know how to make kids laugh and the comedy classes are barely helping.

Now, Luca and Alberto tickle each other (and Giulia, and their other friends) all the time. They could generate enough laughs to power Monstropolis themselves! And it catches Monsters Inc’s attention that they and the humans around them all laugh so much. Especially since Luca & Alberto are the only monsters on earth who interact with normal human kids.

So Monsters Inc. hires the two fish boys to help with figuring out how to make humans laugh, and head up a special division of Official Tickle Monsters.

I know it’s dumb I just thought it would be fun
