I was able to get the story from the woman who works for us who I will call Ka-J. and I had some interesting things come up from similar aswang stories I had read before. Here's some of the highlights of the story while I try to work on the transcript maybe for the next few days:
Aswangs could possess people and would often do so for selfish and even petty reasons. The possessed person was possessed for such a petty and miniscule reason that I'm honestly so perplexed. She possessed the woman because she... smelled good???? Like girl WHAT???? Just ask for her perfume brand or her laundry detergent brand holy shit
They fear holy items like crosses and rosaries. The possessed person from the story was cutting up rosaries and that's what primarily gave the aswang away.
The aswang could make the person's voice change. The possessed person was speaking at a strange tone extremely unfamiliar to her children.
The aswang may speak different languages, maybe unintelligible to the average person. I asked if it was in Latin or whatever stereotypical thing, but Ka-J said she could not determine that.
When the aswang was asked "Where did you come from? Above or below?", the aswang answered that she was "From below." implying that aswang do come from hell at least from this one incident.
The aswang exorcism didn't fully work the first time around so they had to do it twice. After the first instance, she was apparently worse.
They dislike calamansi which is something I've seen in some sources. This was done as an emergency way to freak out the aswang.
Folk healers could exorcise the aswang out of the person. Sometimes they may need the assistance of multiple healers. Ka-J. had told me that there were up to 7 to 8 healers during the final exorcism.
Some other interesting bits from the story that was told to me after or are things that seem just a little interesting to not add in but didn't fit the rest of the list:
The folk healers used an item she called "saway" (Note that Ka-J. is Bisaya but considering this takes place locally here, they probably call it a different name in the Tagalog region). She describes it as a brown (stick?) thing with a thorn attached. She says that there's a bit of gold on the item and when it pricks the aswang, the wound doesn't heal. I don't know what this item is, but it's similar to some stories I read where they would use certain tree branches or the buntot pagi (stingray tail) to injure the aswang.
The aswang was apprently a 50-year-old aswang woman. Very specific thing to have come from the exorcism. Besides that, she also gave her name and her "earth address" but Ka-J has forgotten what these were but it's probably pretty local.
One of the folk healers have a YouTube channel where he uploads the cases he handles. I had the displeasure of finding one of the videos and it is genuinely disturbing. It was just a woman crying but there was something eerie about it. I may not investigate further and I'm not going to link it here not only because of its disturbing nature, but this would essentially probably doxx me and I don't want these poor people's faces floating around because of my post.
I will try to get to actually transcribing + translating the short interview from the recording in maybe a couple of days. I think I may need to take a short break though since I feel a little uneasy after hearing and watching all that.

When I was 3 years old, my family went on vacation. On the way back home, I was struck with a sudden case of narcolepsy. It was determined that the cause was supernatural, so my father brought me to a witch doctor or albularyo. The story goes was that he threatened the entity that he will kill its vessel (me) by holding a nail over my chest if it didn't leave me. It obeyed, and I instantly woke up and became my lively self again. And I'm still here.

Day 12 of #Komiktober: Mang Ambo by National Artist Larry Alcala. Mang Ambo or Mr. Ambo dresses in a similar fashion to Al Magat's Mang Kepweng. Both of which resemble a local albularyo (folk healer). I couldn't claim to know much about Mang Ambo, although I am somewhat more familiar with Bing Bam Bung which appeared in Pilipino Funny Komiks during the late '80s. #LarryAlcala #MangAmbo #SliceOfLife #KalabogEnBosyo #AsiongAksaya #Siopawman #BingBamBung #Albularyo #Komiks #PinoyKomiks #Teks #PinoyTeks #SmokeWeedEveryday https://www.instagram.com/p/Cj8kxFzytFD/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Mang Kano (Albularyo/Doctor): "In short, their saliva has both cholinergic and anticholinergic properties! Interesting isn't it?"
Anon: "..."
Mang Kano (Albularyo/Doctor): " I mean, I have met Mr. Makisig, if ever he's the Tamawo you're talking about? And he's pretty understanding, I think, I'm sure he'd understand and give in to your request if you ask him."

Choices MCs (Filipino Edition lol)
《Next》
Finally drew four of my Choices MCs inspired by @cassiopeiacorvus and her wonderfully done OC compilations (how do you have the patience to draw all of em omg)
I'm thinking of doing the same for my Romance Club MCs too (background would be the purple of the homescreen there)
Interested in commissioning me? Click the source! 💗
Evangeline Marie G. (Guzman) Lakandula - Ah yes, my soft, anxious babie with self-worth issues. She comes from a messy background with a horrible father. She was close to her late (paternal) grandparents and had a very complicated relationship with her late mother. One of her relatives shes v close to is her older cousin, Ethan.
She's a college dropout thanks to her father's bad choices and worked the moment she had a chance to.
After her mother passed, that was it for Evangeline. She kinda needed to go away from her dad and his loud voice and other issues. So she left home and Ethan helped her out before he left for a business trip abroad.
He had her go to a house he owned in Laguna where she could live in provided she just do the cleaning in there. She found simple work that she was qualified for and that was her life for the next few years until a certain bachelor party came into her life.
Diwa Kalangitan M. (Masangga) del Rosario - My chaotic good and very protective MC who definitely rabbleroused in the school she works in.
She was raised in a household that follows some precolonial beliefs and traditions. She has a stepfather who's an albularyo and two half-siblings. One is studying in college, the other is still in high school. She has a close relationship to both her parents.
And she is rather happy with her job as a teacher in a private school. Sure she sometimes goes against curriculum to make sure the kids enjoy her lessons. She's a class advisor also so when she found out their math teacher humiliated one of her students, she confronted said teacher.
Her trip to America is really just a birthday trip until the events of the book started. In the end she ends up in a poly relationship with Nik and Cal. (She does end up pointing out to the boys that she'll have to go back to her work and family at least just to properly resign and find work near them and also to assure her family she's safe.)
Maya Chelidonia C. (Caacbay) dela Rosa - The local tired detective who had to move abroad for their own safety. Love them SM.
Maya is the child of Jaime dela Rosa, a cop in the Philippines who does not follow in corrupt practices and tries to do right by the community. He was killed after coincidentally seeing signs of corruption in the force and wanting to expose it.
After their father's death, Maya also followed in his footsteps. On their end, they wanted to try and do some good in their job but ended up experiencing some discrimination in the work force. Enter them finding the same evidence of corruption that their father found as well. This time they managed to expose the corruption but in the end, one of their few friends in the force warned them that they'll have to flee the country due to some v angry officials.
So they fled with their mother and younger sister.
Their sister became a fashion designer. Maya found work as a private detective and the two teamed up to be able to live a decent life. Their sister travels with their mom on fashion shows. They're fine living nearby their maternal uncle with their dog, Spudge. (He's a scaredy cat and a lil crybaby who doesn't like strangers and by that I mean he starts crying when the strangers notice him. It's not out of trauma, he just likes Maya and their fam more than anyone else and is v shy with others. He's also scared of the dark and loud noises.)
Inocencia Honorata G. (Galang) Valenciano - and finally, my love's embarrassing bby. My Rafael Aveiro romancer. Love her sm.
She and her mom, older brother and little sister ran away from their father when they were a kid. Her parents annulled their marriage after a few years.
Her older brother became the youngest lawyer in the country and had a firm in New York seek him out. This led to him helping Inocencia and her sister (who had skipped grades and managed to enter college the same year as Inocencia).
Inocencia is v non-competitive that she chose De La Salle University while her sister went to their grandfather’s alma mater, University of the Philippines. At college, Inocencia got dubbed as SiaSia because of the repeated -cia in her first name and surname.
The two got accepted into Edenbrook when they were gonna start. Inocencia being 27 and her sister being 25. By then, Inocencia still isn't competitive and didn't sign up for the competition for the diagnostics team but her little sister shoved her to try it out.

PART 1 : Voice (Part 1) PART 3: Voice (Part 3)
PS: I accidentally posted the draft version of this one last night because my nephew is so naughty >_>.
Tumblr media
Maliksi leaned against the wall with his arms crossed, watching intently as Mang Kano attended to the unconscious girl lying on the bed. It had been four days since she was brought there, and she remained in a coma. Mang Kano carefully checked her IV line before skillfully inserting medication into it. Maliksi was intrigued by how this albularyo was so adept with modern medical techniques. Overcome with curiosity, he finally asked,” how did you manage to become a doctor and yet continue as an albularyo? Don't those two professions contradict each other?”
Mang Kano, momentarily taken aback by Maliksi’s question, paused and looked at him, a hint of perplexity in his gaze. "Why? Can't an albularyo become a full pledge doctor?" was his response "And what’s with the sudden interest?” he continued to probe further. Maliksi just shrugs his shoulders in response, the wheels in his mind still turning “Just curious” he admitted “Albularyos usually use nature and rituals to heal people. But you're using modern medicine to treat this girl.“
Mang Kano chuckled at his statement, as if this question had crossed his mind before or perhaps, he encountered the same questions before. “You see, Maliksi” Mang Kano began, his tone carrying a mix of warmth and wisdom. "Healing is not just about the methods we use; it's about the intention behind them.” He looked back at the girl as if a nostalgic feeling emerged from him as he continued “Whether it's through herbs, rituals, or modern medicine, the goal is always to heal. I've learned that to truly help someone, you must be willing to use all knowledge available to you.”
He glanced at Maliksi, a gentle smile gracing his face, and in response, Maliksi met his gaze, understanding passing between them without a word. Suddenly, a knock on the door shattered the silence, and a woman's voice called out, "Dr. James, your appointment is here." The door creaked open, revealing a young woman in scrubs clutching a file to her chest.
As she approached Dr. James, her eyes couldn't help but stray to Maliksi, and a blush colored her cheeks. Quickly averting her gaze, she hurried to Dr. James's side and handed him the file. "H-here's the p-patient's records," she stammered, clearly flustered by Maliksi's presence. Mang Kano, clearly understanding his staff's behavior, reached for the file and motioned for her to leave. "Alright, I'll come with you in a moment," he replied. The woman hastily exited the room making one last glance at Maliksi before leaving the two alone.
Mang Kano sighed in resignation and said, "Please do not seduce my staff. I'm already short-handed, and I can't afford to lose more."
"I didn't even do anything!" Maliksi defended, clearly irritated by the misunderstanding. “And It’s not my fault I’m oozing with attractiveness” He continued with a hint of sarcasm. Mang Kano cringed at his statement, rubbed his temples, and sighed in exasperation. “Just stay away from my staff!” With a weary expression, he walked to the door, giving Maliksi one last stern look. "And make sure they won’t know you're a Tamawo, the last thing I want is people sending rumors about my clinic about having a monster in my place" he cautioned before closing the door behind him.
“As if I have a choice!” Maliski sighed in exasperation. He had made himself look human and concealed his Tamawo features so that he could blend in with the others while he remained here to care for the girl. Maliksi was alone again with the unconscious girl in the room. He felt relieved to have some peace and quiet. The only sound was the beeping of the health monitor. Taking a closer look at the girl's face, he realized it was the first time he had really noticed her appearance. Before, he had mostly just stayed in the room, playing games and sleeping on the bed that he took from the other room without permission, only waking up when the albularyo came to check on her.
"You're quite beautiful, aren't you" he remarked softly, admiring her serene expression as she slept. Though he knew he had only helped her for his own benefit. Despite his selfish intentions, he couldn't deny the allure of her beauty. As he gazed at her, a pang of guilt flickered within him, which is unusual because having this kind of emotion for a human only applies to his kind brother.    Time seemed to move slow as his repeated activities bore him, He pulled a nearby chair closer to the girl's bed, settling into it with a sigh.
Leaning back, he crosses his arms and shuts his eyes, racking his brain for a way to shake off his boredom. Suddenly, an idea sparks, brightening his expression. “Hey, want to know a story?” Maliksi asked the unconscious girl, he chuckled at his stupidity scolding himself ‘of course she won’t respond, stupid!’, shaking his head at his own foolishness.
But the idea of talking with this unconscious girl wasn’t a bad idea, He liked it actually, it’s like a one- sided conversation, a chance for him to speak his mind without the pressure of a response. So, despite the lack of interaction from her side, Maliksi found solace in sharing his thoughts with the silent figure before him.
"Well here it goes” he started off as he rested his chin on her bed as he recalls one of the mischiefs he did, “There was this one time that my Kuya promised one of his girls on a picnic, I saw how excited she was being able to go out with him. When that day came, she then proceeds to the kitchen with a giddy smile on her face and makes some sandwiches. I secretly followed her making sure I was unnoticed, when she was finished, she went out and got ready for their planned picnic, I made sure she was totally gone then I went ahead and ate all of it.”
He smiled mischievously at the memory “I handed it to her, her sandwiches were really yummy." He paused as he licked his lips as if savoring the taste again, "and when she came back, she was livid and started shouting at me. My kuya came as he heard the commotion. Before she could even explain what happened, I immediately clung to my kuya and told him I was very hungry and ate whatever food is in the kitchen”
Maliksi's eyes sparkled with the vivid recollection, a playful smirk playing on his lips as he remembered the chaos he had instigated. "You should've seen the look on her face," he continued, his voice barely containing his amusement. "She was so mad, steam could've come out of her ears. And there I was, the picture of innocence, hugging my Kuya, telling him how hungry I was."
He chuckled, shaking his head at his own audacity. "My Kuya, he's always had a soft spot for me, you know? So, he looks at me, then at her, and he's trying to piece together what happened. And I'm there, making my best impression of a starving little brother, which wasn't far from the truth, except for the part where I intentionally ate the sandwiches meant for their picnic."
Maliksi's expression softened, a hint of admiration in his gaze as he thought about his brother's peacemaking skills. "He managed to calm her down, promised her an even better date to make up for it. And me? I got off with a warning and a 'next time, ask before you eat anything meant for special occasions'” Sighing, Maliksi leaned closer to the girl, as if sharing a secret. "But here's the thing—I felt bad afterwards. Not immediately, but it hit me later. Of course I won’t tell them that!”
Time seemed to pass by as he told more stories of his past adventures, after what seemed like hours of talking, Maliksi got tired and stood up, stretching his limbs. "Well, thanks for listening, even if you didn't have much choice in the matter. It's been... therapeutic, in a way." He glanced at her one more time, a gentle expression on his face. “When you wake up, maybe you can tell me your stories, I promise I’ll listen.”
With that, Maliksi turned off the light, leaving the room bathed in the soft glow of the moonlight. Outside, the world was quiet and peaceful, Maliksi felt lighter, as if the act of sharing his story with someone, even someone who couldn't respond, had lifted a weight off his shoulders.
Tumblr media
How many days have passed? Maliksi wondered as he stared out the window, the sun high in the sky, the corridors noisy with the comings and goings of people. A few days prior, Mang Kano had allowed him to return home whenever he wished, reassured that the girl was no longer in any danger. Maliksi was overjoyed and embraced the opportunity. Upon arriving home, he indulged in all the activities he had missed, as if he were finally free from the burden of caring for the comatose girl.
After not going to the clinic for four days, he felt kind of empty, like he was missing something. He tried to have fun, but it wasn't as good. So, he thought about it a lot and decided to go back to Mang Kano’s clinic.
There, he found himself standing beside the girl's bed, just staring at her as if it was routine. He inhaled deeply then said "Hey there, sleepyhead. How are you feeling today? “ he then grabs a nearby chair and started telling her stories like the usual. Days turned into weeks, and Maliksi kept coming back to the clinic to share tales with her.
As Maliksi's boredom set in again, he went over to the girl's bed and closed his eyes as he tried to look for a memory he could share with her. Maliksi wasn't a very talkative person, but he enjoyed talking to the girl in front of him. It was always the highlight of his day. As he chatted away, he didn't notice Mang Kano enter the room. The man stood by the door, watching Maliksi happily tell her about what had happened the other day, with the look of excitement in his face.
"And then, I saw that lady again yesterday. I thought my big brother had sent her away for good two years ago. But guess what? She was back at the mansion, hanging out with my brother's other girlfriends." He paused, putting his finger on his chin as if thinking hard. "It's not like I dislike her or anything. She's actually pretty decent. As I observed, She wasn't as needy as his other girls, she knows her boundaries and always making sure that she don't annoy me, not like the others who always pick a fight with me."
Leaning on the edge of the girl's bed, Maliksi rested his head on his hands "As long as she doesn't bother me too much, I guess I'm okay with her being around the mansion," he stated with a slight shrug. The room went silent again, he stared blankly at the health monitor watching the numbers go up and down.
Unconsciously he picked up her hand and placed it on his cheeks, his gaze now fixated at the sleeping girl in front of him “When will you wake up?” he whispered softly, his voice filled with longing and hope.
Mang Kano, who had remained quietly in the room, observed Maliksi with a mix of concern and empathy. He felt compassion for the young man expressing such raw emotion. It had been over a month since that fateful day, and there was still no sign of the girl waking up. Mang Kano sighed and was about to go over to Maliksi when the Tamawo suddenly jumped out of his chair, looking at the girl's hand in shock.
"What's the matter?" Mang Kano asked in shock. Maliksi, unaware of Mang Kano’s arrival, looked at him in bewilderment. "H-her hand... I felt her hand move!" he exclaimed. Mang Kano immediately approached the bed, pulling his penlight out of his pocket. Maliksi shifted to give him space as Mang Kano began checking the girl for any specific responses.
"Is she going to wake up soon?" Maliksi couldn’t help but ask anxiously. After Mang Kano finished examining the girl, he looked at Maliksi with a smile spreading across his face. "Yes! it looks like she’s on her way back to us” He confirmed. Maliksi smiled in relief upon hearing Mang Kano’s response.
Tumblr media
You were unconscious, and felt like you were in a dark, silent void. You couldn't feel anything, and time seemed to stretch on forever. All you could remember was being attacked by a creature, fighting desperately to get away from it until it slashed your throat. That was the last thing you remembered before you blacked out. You wondered how many hours—or even days—had passed since then. “Am I still alive?” you asked yourself.
But then, you started to feel a little bit of awareness. It was like a faint echo of life from the outside world. “Hey, want to hear a story?” Suddenly a soft voice said as it's sound washed over you like a warm embrace. The voice told you stories of it's mischievousness. This voice was very familiar, but you can’t seem to remember who.
Though you cannot move or speak, you were captivated by his stories, listening intently, lost in the cadence of their voice. You wondered who this person beside you, sharing their stories with such warmth, though your body remained still and silent, your mind was alive with curiosity. You longed to reach out, to connect with the person beside you and to know this person's identity. But for now, all you could do was listen to their soothing voice as it tells you, their adventures.
Every day you kept on waiting for that voice, anticipating what story it would tell that day. Until one day the stories had stopped. You never heard from it again. the sense of abandonment overwhelmed you, You didn’t know what to do. You felt lost and alone. ‘Did it get tired of telling me stories?’ You thought to yourself.
The silence of the room was unbearable, your mind is conscious, but your body is not, you feel frustrated, and you just wanted to wake up. You silently prayed that that person would come back. As if God answered your prayers, you heard that voice again, The one you have been praying for, “Hey there sleepyhead. How are you feeling today?” The voice was warm and comforting, sending a jolt of recognition through your still form.
‘You’re back!’ you wanted to say but your body remained unresponsive. you felt relieved at hearing this voice again as it tells you more of it's stories. Even though you couldn't move or speak, the connection you felt with this person grew stronger with each passing moment.
Tumblr media
Days flew by again, Maliksi stared at the girl waiting for her to wake up, every time he tells her something she moves her finger in response. He doesn’t know when it started but with each passing day, the more he stayed by her side, the more attached he was to her. Anticipating the day she opens her eyes.
And then one day, it happened. She started fluttering her eyelids, as she slowly opened her eyes, a hazy confusion danced behind them, as if the world was coming back into focus. Maliksi, overwhelmed by a mix of relief and joy couldn’t help but smile.
“Hey, you’re awake,” he exclaimed his voice a mix of excitement and disbelief. “Wait here, I’ll bring the albular—I mean the doctor!” As he tried to let go of her hand, he felt her squeezing it, as if stopping him from going away. He looked back at her and chuckled. “I’ll be right back” He re-assured as he slowly removed her hand from him.
Maliksi quickly left the room, searching for Mang Kano. As he neared the other room, he overheard a conversation. "We can't keep hiding her," he heard a voice say, recognizing it immediately as his brother Makisig's. "He found out where she is," Makisig added. A sense of dread began to fill Maliksi, making him worry about who they were discussing. Driven by his curiosity, Maliksi entered the room, surprising the two men. "Who are you talking about?" he demanded. The men exchanged a look of silent agreement before Makisig dismissively responded, "It's nothing."
Trying to shift the focus, Makisig asked, "What brings you here?" Maliksi, although curious about their conversation, remembered he had more pressing news to share. "The girl has woken up!" he announced, the earlier tension melting away with his excitement. "Mang Kano, come and see her right away!"
Mang Kano's eyes lit up with a mix of surprise and urgency at Maliksi's announcement. Without wasting another moment, he rose from his seat, grabbing everything he needed then followed the young Tamawo towards the girls room.
As they hurried through the corridors, Maliksi began to feel hopeful. The mystery of the conversation he had overheard still bothered him, but his top priority was the well-being of the girl who had miraculously opened her eyes after being in a comatose state.
Tumblr media
Slowly, you began to regain consciousness. You opened your eyes and tried to focus, but everything was blurry. As your vision slowly adjusted, you could make out the figure of a person hovering over you.
"Hey! You're awake!" the person exclaimed, his voice filled with excitement. He took your hand in his and squeezed it tightly. "Just wait here, I'll get the doctor", he continued, releasing your hand and starting to get up.
Unconsciously you tightened your grip on his hand, not wanting him to leave. You stared up at him with your eyes still blurry from just waking up. He looked back at you in surprise, but then chuckled at your unexpected behavior.
"I'll be right back", he reassured you, gently prying your fingers from his. You reluctantly let go of him and watched as he ran off through the door.
Lying there, your gaze fixed on the ceiling, a wave of confusion and disorientation swept over you. ‘Where am I?’ This question echoed in your mind as you tried to make sense of your surroundings. An uncomfortable sensation in your neck stopped you from moving too much. Carefully, you reached up to touch the source of discomfort and found bandages there.
‘I remember now... I was attacked,’ you realized silently. The vivid memory of the assault flooded back, the brutality of the incident overwhelming you, causing tears to gather in your eyes. Overcome by a surge of emotions, you found yourself unable to hold back a cry.
As tears streamed down your face, you were crying but there was no sound accompanying it, the room was still quiet ‘My voice... it's gone’. You tried to speak, to call for someone, anyone, but no sound came out. The silence around you felt like it was closing in on you, 'suffocating.' You felt more and more scared and confused.
As the door swung open, your eyes instinctively darted towards it. Three figures stepped into the room: the first, clad in a lab coat, evidently the doctor; the second, the person who had been by your side earlier; and the third, a man of remarkable height, the tallest you've ever seen. Their expressions shifted to shock as they took in the sight of your tear-streaked face. Without hesitation, the one who had kept you company earlier rushed to your side, a look of deep concern etched on his face.
"Hey, what's wrong?" The familiar voice, filled with genuine concern, broke the silence in the room. You looked up at the person, their eyes reflecting a mixture of worry and compassion. You opened your mouth to speak, but no sound accompanied them. ‘I’ you desperately mouthed trying hard to make a sound, but it was futile, you can’t help but cry again at your helplessness.
The doctor came by your side as he tried to assess the situation. He seemed to sense your struggle and gently placed his hand on the young man's shoulder, “It seems she had lost her voice” the doctor said. The young man turned to him with a concerned look, his brows furrowing in worry. "Is there a way to help her get it back?" he asked, his voice laced with urgency.
The doctor fell silent as if trying to find the right words. "I can't say it will come back, but.." he paused "we'll need to conduct some tests and perhaps consult with a specialist. Losing one's voice can be a temporary effect, especially after a traumatic event. It's too early to say for sure, but with proper care and treatment, there's hope," he explained, his words aiming to instill a sense of optimism in the room.
“Hi, my name is Dr. James, And I am the one who attended to your injury” He said as he looked at you directly, “I know this is all confusing to you right now, but I assure you I will do everything in my power to help you.” He continued with a kind and gentle voice. He then looked back at the young man and said, “Help her sit up” The young man eagerly nodded and helped you gently sit up from your  bed. “Can you also fetch me the chair” the young man nodded and urgently went to the other side to fetch the chair and positioned it near Dr James.
Unknowingly behind them, Makisig who was still standing silently near the door watched in bewilderment as he witnessed his little brother following Mang Kano’s command. This was the first time he saw his brother being bossed around by a human without any resistance. He had the urge to laugh but had to stop himself so as to not break the moment in the room.
“It's just a formality” Dr. James said, flipping a page on his clipboard and handing it to you along with a pen. “Since you can't speak right now, could you please write your name down for me? That way I can address you properly.” You nodded weakly and reached for the pen and paper. your hands were shaking, and it took you a few tries to write your name legibly. “Y/N” Dr. James said out loud. “What a beautiful name” He added with a gentle smile on his face.
“I’ll be asking some questions,” Dr. James pointed at the clipboard you are holding and gestured “You just write your answer, a brief word would suffice, you could also choose not to answer, will that be ok?” He said asking for permission. In response to his question, you wrote the word ‘Yes’
Dr. James smiled and began asking some questions. "Well done. Now, do you feel any discomfort with your body right now?" You pointed at the word "Yes" that you had written earlier. Dr. James acknowledged your response and followed up, "Could you try and point where?" Slowly lifting your hand, you indicated your bandaged neck. "Does it hurt a lot?" He continued asking, you wrote "A little".
The questioning continued for a while, with Dr. James periodically examining your body for any signs of discomfort. "Your body is still recovering, and since you were in a coma for a while, you may experience discomfort in different parts of your body," he explained. "You need rest and a bit of walking or exercise to aid in your recovery."
Dr. James hesitated, as if uneasy about asking the next question. "I know this might be hard to recall, but..." he paused as he looked at the young man then back at you, "do you remember what happened before you passed out?" Your body tensed at the question; memories of encountering the terrifying creature and the trauma it inflicted flooded your mind.
Tears welled up in your eyes once more, rolling down your cheeks uncontrollably. With a heavy heart, you pressed both palms against your face as silent sobs racked your body. Frustration built up inside you as you cried without making a sound, the weight of your emotions overwhelming your voiceless cries.
Dr. James did not probe any further, as he already knows your answer from your reaction. All he could do is press his hand on your shoulder as he waits for you to finish crying.
Maliksi, who had been silently observing the conversation, clenched his fist unknowingly. It was as if he felt sympathy for the girl, a feeling he hadn't experienced in quite some time. Looking at the window he silently voiced in his head ‘I’ll kill that jerk!’.
“You should get some rest first,” Dr. James said, breaking the silence in the room. Gently, he helped you lie back in your bed. As you were being assisted, you couldn't help but notice the young man at the edge of the bed. As your eyesight was still blurry earlier, this is the first time you saw him clearly.
His pale complexion and silver hair caught your attention, and his expression remained stoic as he gazed out of the window. Even though you could only see his side profile, you couldn't deny his handsomeness.
Dr. James caught sight of you looking at the young man. "Ah, this is..." he gestured but stopped, appearing hesitant. As if returning to reality, the young man then looked in your direction. "He’s the one... who brought you here," Dr. James continued, appearing uncomfortable with the introduction.
You stared at the young man, feeling a sense of familiarity wash over you. The young man waved his hand in front of you and said, “Hey there, my name’s Maliksi.” ‘Maliksi,’ he stopped as he saw you open your mouth and mouthed his name along with him. “D-did you just!” Maliksi stuttered as he looked at you in shock, as if you already knew who he was.
You were equally stunned by your own reaction; in that moment, your dimly recalled memories surged forward in rapid succession: the time you were attacked, the sight of the him perched atop the tree and the instance when the creature was forcefully repelled from you. You remembered the way the creature hissed Maliksi’s name before you lost consciousness.
You grabbed the clipboard and pen again and slowly wrote something: ‘On top of the tree’. Shyly, you showed them the written words. Both Maliksi and Dr. James looked at the writing. Maliksi smiled as he read the words. "So you remember me!" he exclaimed excitedly.
Dr. James looked back and forth between you and Maliksi, observing the interaction with curiosity. “If you remember him then that means you also know that he’s a Tamawo” Dr James asked. The girl looked at him in curiosity then wrote “Tamawo?”
The doctor and Maliksi exchanged a glance as they read what you wrote, then awkwardly looked away. Dr. James rubbed his temples, realizing he had made a mistake. He sighed heavily, seemingly reluctant to explain. "It's like this," he began, scratching his cheek as if searching for the right words. "The creature that attacked you... was a Tamawo."
Tumblr media
Makisig sensed the presence of another creature lurking nearby. With caution, he slipped out of the room, ensuring that the people inside remained unaware of his departure. As he stepped foot outside, he said “Come out, I know you’re here”. A figure emerged from the shadows, striding proudly with a malicious grin on his face. His silver hair flowing with the wind.
“My, my if it isn’t the hybrid” the man said maliciously. Makisig remained silent, unfaced by his remark.   “I warn you Lakan, stay away from them” Makisig warned. Lakan chuckled, amused by his warning. “You can’t stop me; I will take that woman and this time I’ll make sure to rip her apart.” Lakan then grinned widely “And I’ll make sure to get back at your pest of a brother for what he had done”
Makisig's face turned dark, his eyes piercing through Lakan as he thought of ways of tearing him apart. “If you touch my brother, I promise you I won’t be merciful”. Lakan laughed again, he looked at Makisig staring at him with the same killing intent. “I look forward to that.” and with that he turned and walked away.
Makisig watched him go, when he was gone, he sighed releasing the tension from his body.  Time is of the essence now; He must come up with a plan to make sure that his brother and the girl were unharmed. He looked up at the window on the second floor, his mind racing as he contemplated his next move. “I better act fast”.

bbc ghosts but they’re all Creatures™ from Philippine mythology
*the english translation of the filipino terms are boldly formatted
**i’m not an expert on this area, i just loosely describe and relate the characters based on what i know
**blood, guts, gore, and horror in general ahead, the illustrations are also not mine
• Kitty - diwata or boringkantada or a duwende
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
can’t decide which works best for kitty: a filipino nymph, a beautiful supernatural woman or a playful hobgoblin.
diwata is umbrella term for beautiful goddesses, and the most popular ones are dayang makiling, mariang sinukuan, and maria cacao. i think kitty would be mariang sinukuan— a kind and generous goddess who stopped bringing fruits and harvests to humans when they became unsatisfied and greedy.
a boringkantada is definitely not boring: it possesses beauty both physically and in its voice. when someone is lured by its singing, it instinctively assumes the person is about to rob the treasures it guards and viscously attacks them.
the hobgoblin that loves to play, a duwende has the tendency to be extremely jealous and may either shower gifts to the ones they like and play tricks on the ones they don’t.
*i also see pat as a duwende, and i’ll elaborate that on the next parts.
• Fanny - white lady or a dalikamata
Tumblr media Tumblr media
i mean, she’s already a grey lady so this one’s not far-fetched. basically, a white lady is a ghost dressed in a white dress, particularly an urban legend that resides in a Balete tree in Quezon City, Manila. it is also known as the Weeping Woman or the Wronged Woman in other beliefs.
alternatively, i also think she would be a dalikamata— a Visayan goddess with many eyes that can see the past, present and the future. i relate the all-seeing, all-knowing attribute to fanny’s nosy attitude.
• Mary - albularyo
Tumblr media Tumblr media
derived from the spanish term herbolario, these folk or witch doctors are either believed to have supernatural abilities to cure illness better than modern medicine or hated for being a pseudoscience and/or a witch. screams mary to me. She knows every herb and ointment, can track the roots of what caused the sickness, but also has the capability to harm those who wronged her. ultimately, she does her best to help others.
• Annie - mangkukulam
Tumblr media Tumblr media
rip annie you would’ve loved putting curses on men. she would’ve been a powerful witch. there are many other terms for filipino witches according to respective regions, but we call them mangkukulam in our area. plus, these witches believe that their spells do not work on the innocent, their targets often being thieves and colonizers.
side note: i actually have this oc from a story i once tried to write wherein the albularyo and mangkukulam are girlfriends because of the contradicting capabilities, and the idiots themselves told me mary and annie were gay.
• Pat - nuno sa punso or a duwende
Tumblr media Tumblr media
a nuno sa punso is a dwarf goblin that will harm you if you anger it by kicking its house (an anthill) and/or pissing on it. if modern medicine cannot cure you in any way and you have disrespected him, you may need to ask for his forgiveness or seek help from the albularyo. “tabi-tabi po” or “excuse me please” is a phrase you say to show respect to beings like this.
my first reason for nuno!pat was because of his height. but it is also depicted as a tiny, angry grandpa and a protector of the earth— which reminds me of pat.
on the other hand, the duwende is a hobgoblin that likes playing with children because of its natural playful attitude. this one’s not that easily angered unlike the nuno sa punso, but can still hurt those it doesn’t like.
• Captain - kapre
Tumblr media Tumblr media
the way i giggled when i thought of cap being a CAPre. kapre cap,,, i feel like the funniest person alive. the photo makes it funnier— just some local kapre with glasses with a tree behind it
a kapre is a cigar-smoking, tree-dweller. traditionally, it presents itself as a hairy, muscular, and tall guardian/protector of the land that can also shapeshift into a beautiful man to invite people to follow them (especially in the woods). hence, it can make you run around in circles as you forget memories of your life.
side note: thomas can also be a kapre because if a kapre likes you, it will follow and protect you from your enemies for life. a former filipino president (emilio aguinaldo) is believed to have outlived his enemies because he had a kapre amulet.
• Humphrey - manananggal or pugot
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
a manananggal is a self-segmenting vampire. its upper torso has wings that help it fly and hunt humans (particularly pregnant women and their babies), while its lower torso stays behind. there is a belief that you can actually kill it by finding its lower torso and putting salt or crushed garlic in it in order to prevent it from uniting with its upper torso. i’m thinking about this image of humphrey’s head having wings attached behind him, and his tudor outfit already spells out vampire to me.
or if we’re gonna be canon compliant, humphrey is already a version of a pugot— a headless creature from the ifugao. but i’m putting this on a maybe part because there are many versions of the pugot: some believe it is a version of the kapre, some believe it is a shapeshifting ghoul.
• Robin - aswang or sigbin or bungisngis
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
aswang is a broad, umbrella term for all cannibal shapeshifters. they appear as normal humans by day, and various human-animal hybrids by night.
i also see robin as a sigbin. both are seen as dog-like creatures that eat fresh, bloody, and raw meat. some believe that you can keep a sigbin as a pet that will protect you and even let you hop in on its back— but once you let it starve, it will always be a creature of the night that can eat you and your entire family.
robin would also make a good bungisngis because it is a cannibal one-eyed cyclops. its name directly translates to “one who giggles a lot”, which is why it is known for laughing and playing tricks. ironically, it is dumb enough to be tricked.
• Julian - bakunawa or engkanto
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
the bakunawa is a dragon serpent notably known for allegedly eating the earth’s seven moons. i’d like to think of that as a parallel to a politician like julian being enamored by the shiny power and wealth.
and because of julian’s charms, he would also be an engkanto— environmental spirits that presents to be good-looking and formerly known as a protector of the people but may also tend to be deceiving (much like of a politician).
• Thomas - tikbalang
Tumblr media Tumblr media
this one’s peer-reviewed by a friend so i’m more than confident about thomas being a tikbalang. it appears to be a half-human half-horse creature known to lead travelers astray as they live in the mountains. it is known to be mischievous when it play tricks on humans (a tribute i might also relate to julian or robin), so make sure to wear your shirt inside out or stay quiet while in the woods to not disturb it.
unrelated but fun fact: if it’s raining, we have this belief that a tikbalang is getting married. (this phrase is potentially from the spanish when they believed that a witch is getting married when there’s rain on a sunny day)

I understand that a lot of people are allergic to learning about colonial and post-colonial Filipino history and constantly put up precolonial Filipino history on a pedestal, but oh my god, you can't just make up shit that the babaylans did when a lot and I mean, a LOT of the practices had survived the modern day through albularyos and manghihilots and the likes just with a catholic flare and honestly it's rather insulting and frustrating to constantly see people basically ignore my country's contemporary folk culture because you don't wanna do any more research on our history after we got colonized

Races in my stories (for my sanity & reference); arranged according to power/hiwaga
Diwatas - Deities capable of creation & protection. Only Diwatas who are capable of both are called Bathalumans. There are currently 8 Bathalumans and an unknown amount of Diwatas. When a Diwata is considered a Bathaluman candidate, they become a Dayang. [ Example of Bathaluman is Lambana/Anhedonia. Camellia & Lily are Diwatas born from Lambana, but are later considered as Dayangs. ]
Engkantos - An ancient humanoid race that serves a specific goddess. They have long lifespans, pointed ears, no philtrum, and possess high charisma. Their fertility rates are low and are nearly extinct in the modern day. [ Example of Engkantos, though not exactly, are Eden and Elysian. Their ancestors were Lambana engkantos but have long intermingled with humans. ]
Halimaw - An umbrella term for beings that are not human. They're monsters that were told in stories to scare children, but now live alongside humans after WW2. Examples are Kapres, Tikbalangs, Duwendes, Nuno sa Punso, and Sirenas. [ Example is Mutya, who is a Jiangxi/zombie ]
Aswang - An umbrella term for beings who have made contact with evil spirits or demons. Though most are genetically aswangs due to ancestors making demon pacts because of war. High-ranking Aswangs work in tandem with Engkantos to stop the spread of black magic use. Humanoid Aswangs also have no philtrum. Examples are manananggals, Tiktik, and weredogs.
Taong Mahika - Humans born with high hiwaga, usually coming from families who intermingled with Engkantos in ancient times. They often become babaylans, albularyos, or mangbabarang / mangkukulam. [ Examples are Bingsu (babaylan) and Nimuel (albularyo, later a mangbabarang) ]
I've been considering about expanding my character designs too and having a Bathaluman have a more global influence (since rn they all exist in one country-esque... Imagine a Lambana Engkanto in Italy LOL)

THE BANKS UNIVERSE.
Tumblr media
aka, the history of the valencia-banks family & how izidora came to be. trigger warnings: m/urder, s/uicide, d/eath, t/rafficking.
izidora's paternal grandmother, tala valencia (b. march 1st 1962), immigrated to new york city from the island of cuyo, palawan in the philippines in 1975 at the age of 13 with her mother, aunt, older brother, and younger cousin due to rising political tensions. at age 15, she fell in love with a classmate by the name of jerome banks — eventually giving birth to her first son, angelo banks, in 1977. jerome & tala married in 1979 at age 18 & went on to have three more sons. tala ran a bodega with her husband & continued to work at her mother and aunt's jewelry / herbal shop heirlooms; where they regularly practiced albularyo & tended to the community via magic.
izidora's father, angelo, was a kind-hearted & courageous boy who did well socially & in school — up until the age of 13, when his father was shot & killed at gunpoint during a robbery gone wrong of the family bodega one night during closing. after this encounter, angelo became more withdrawn; speaking only to family & the few friends that stuck with him after his father's murder. following the loss, the banks family struggled to keep up with the bodega financially, leading angelo to drop out of school at age 16 in order to help supplement their family's income from the jewelry store.
at age 18, angelo begins working as a driver for the post office. he meets a woman named noelle parker during a night out with his co-workers; after a few dates leading to semi-regular sexual encounters, noelle becomes pregnant. she gives birth to their first daughter, izidora korrin banks, on october 17th 1996 when angelo was 19 & noelle was 25. angelo decides to move in with noelle following izidora's birth & tries to develop a serious romantic relationship with noelle, but they eventually break up after a lengthy on/off dynamic in may 1998 when izidora is 2 years old.
two months after this break up, noelle reveals to angelo that she is pregnant again. angelo moves back into the apartment and attempts to reconcile with noelle for the sake of izidora & their unborn baby, with mixed results. by the time their second daughter, carina sinta banks, is born on february 22nd 1999 when angelo is 22 and noelle is 28, their relationship has become volatile & toxic.
angelo resolves to leave noelle for good when izidora is 3 years old & carina is just five months old, during the summer of 1999. tala & the maternal side of angelo’s family have routinely babysat the girls since izidora was first born, so angelo decides to move back home with the girls & stay with tala until he could afford to rent a house to live in with the girls. he attempts to cut noelle out of their lives for good, but when he agrees to meet with her one night at her apartment to pick up the last of his belongings, their conversation turns into an increasingly aggressive argument with noelle refusing to allow angelo to keep her away from the girls. when she is no longer able to manipulate him into staying, noelle grabs a gun as angelo heads for the door — in a fit of rage, she shoots him beneath the chin when he turns to face her, killing him instantly.
after a moment of panic, noelle decides to hysterically report angelo’s death to the police as a suicide over the phone & during interviews. police inform tala of this, who immediately rejects the decision & demands to see his body. angelo’s death remains closed as a suicide based on noelle’s account that his death had been due to their recent break up; despite tala’s adamance that he would never do such a thing to his kids & that angelo made the decision to leave noelle first.
tala & noelle, who never got along in the first place, continue to remain at odds over this due to custody and noelle constantly fighting with the valencia-banks family over the care of izidora & carina. when noelle refuses to tell the truth in public and swears to tala that she will continue to lie about angelo in order to obtain custody of the sisters, tala & the witches of the valencia family resort to the use of a mangkukulam ritual to torment noelle through the use of black magic for her misdeeds. after months of suffering the effects of the curse strengthening over time — becoming increasingly erratic and paranoid as her mental stability & insomnia worsened, noelle turns herself in & finally confesses to angelo’s murder. she is given life in prison in january of 2001, when izidora is 5 & carina is almost 2. noelle eventually commits suicide while in prison just two years later in 2003 — but not before sending a letter to her sister sherise that her daughters were ‘stolen’ from her.
after this, izidora & carina remain in the care of their grandmother tala, who loves & raises them like her own despite the loss of angelo and teaches them how to channel & use the magic they’ve inherited as witches. their aunt, sherise, does not begin to contact the girls until izidora is 8 & carina is 5 — although tala does not like or trust noelle’s side of the family, she reluctantly agrees to let the girls live with their aunt on a 3 week schedule once izidora is 10 & carina is 7. she is not aware of their aunt’s carelessness in raising them until izidora & carina confide in her at ages 12 and 9 that they do not like staying with her.
tala is nearing her 50s by the time the girls are teenagers & nico enters the picture. the rest follows as previously written, with nico hooking sherise on drugs & controlling the household. the girls are not seen for over 3 months since izidora’s 17th birthday in october 2013; in april 2014, after 6 months of no contact or communication, tala files a missing persons report — this gets debunked by nico claiming they are actually in upstate new york & living with his mother (who is actually deceased).
sherise attempts to get clean with tala’s encouragement and tries to get answers from nico. in turn, nico placates sherise with an overwhelming amount of drugs which cause her to eventually OD. with nico’s word against tala’s, no efforts are made to locate the sisters despite being missing with no contact between the girls & their grandmother for nearly 8 months. after a year of the girls being missing, tala suffers a heart attack at age 53 due to stress/overexertion. by year 2, tala is partially paralyzed on the left side of her body after suffering a mini stroke at age 54 & is unable to continue practicing albularyo & kulam full time as she used to due to her limited mobility/use of her left side. she instead has her niece, sampaguita valencia, act in her place — also known as “shah”, who eventually locates/aids izidora in her escape at age 20 by teaching her kulam, paying for the apartment that izidora continues to reside in, and helping her to eventually locate & rescue plenty of other trafficked women — including a drugged, severely beaten, and extremely traumatized carina when she’s 19 & izidora is 22.
as of now, tala is now 61 & lives in a lavish community paid for by izidora — she is cared for when necessary by a private nurse & receives regular visits from shah, izidora, & carina when available. they spend time together, help tala around the house/with errands, and continue with their magic in albularyo & kulam. although she is not as active as a community healer, she continues to be affectionately nicknamed “lola” or “lula” by those she’s helped over the years. she is also the grandmother-in-law to keith lane & great-grandmother of his & izidora’s twins, neji & nami.

Bigla ko narealize, at napaluha ako. Chariz.

OC Introduction: Margarette Camellia Sanchez
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Name: Margarette Camellia Sanchez
Birthday: December 24
Age: 20 (at the start of the game), 21 (after S1, entirety of S2, and the first half of S3), 22 (second half of S3, and entirety of S4), 25 (in Nightbringer)
Nationality: Filipino
Height: 165 cm
She is my Obey Me MC and is the most-utilized OC out of all of my OCs.
Personality:
She has a calm and composed personality, even in a stressful situation. This is due to her work environment as a pastry chef. But she also has a hidden mischievous side that often shows when she joins the Anti-Lucifer League with their antics, much to Lucifer's dismay.
She's perceptive of other people, especially when it comes to their emotions, but can be oblivious when it comes to herself. This obliviousness also applies when someone is showing romantic interest in her.
Similar to Levi, she also gets worked up whenever her interests are the topic of the conversation. She can and will talk your ear off when she gets the chance.
Introverted by nature, she cherishes her "me time" very much. She can attend social gatherings, but need some time to herself after a while to recharge.
Character lore tidbits:
Her nicknames are: Callie, Gremlin (affectionately by Lucifer), and Mani < it means 'peanut' in Filipino (her favorite food are peanuts and she used to eat half a kilogram of it when she was younger)
She likes reading and is a certified hopeless romantic.
Her main literary media are light novels and webcomics (Levi definitely approves of her choices)
She is a HUGE history, mythology, and astronomy geek!
Aside from cockroaches, she also hates the smell of garlic.
She hates it when several people asks for her help at the same time. She says it drains her energy too quickly.
Her MBTI type is INTP-T.
She owns a black cat named Pepper.
She is the middle child in a family of five.
Her older sister is a police officer and has taught her how to handle a gun (Camellia never used one even though she knew how to use a gun).
Her uncle from her father's side of the family runs a martial arts studio. He taught her judo, taekwondo, boxing, and arnis. Her favorite is arnis.
Her maternal grandmother is a known albularyo (healer) in their hometown. It is implied that the maternal side of Camellia's family are Lilith's descendants.
She can see otherworldly entities (they're usually harmless so she just ignores them)
Her hobbies are: baking, reading, and drawing.
She is a pastry chef, and she owns and runs a patisserie and café called Sweet Tooth's Haven with her classmate and bestfriend Momo Koizumi.
She's a very patient person, but rivals Lucifer and Satan when mad. (Mammon and Levi witnessed it first-hand when they got her sketchpad wet during their scuffle)
She's usually behaved but she also has a reputation for being a petty menace (the reason she's called "Gremlin" by Lucifer)
In the Timeskip AU that is still stuck in my drafts, she had twins: a boy and a girl. (One of them was summoned to Twisted Wonderland when they were 17)
She is a supportive and doting mother to her twins. She is also quite protective over them, especially when they were kids.
Q: What kind of relationship does she have with the boys?
Lucifer
They are dating!! When she first arrived at the Devildom and met him for the first time, he had piqued her interest. That interest soon developed into a small crush, then it turned into love (she needed Asmo's help to realize it though).
He was giving her the cold shoulder though, so she thought it was hopeless even if she confessed.
When she did confess before her departure at the end of S1, she was really shocked when he accepted and reciprocated her feelings. As it turns out, Lucifer thought she was interested in someone else, that's why he kept giving her the cold shoulder.
Even though they're already in an official relationship for a few years, she can't help but act like a middle schooler with a crush whenever Lucifer's around. He finds it very amusing.
Fun fact: they haven't done the deed™ yet as per Camellia's request until she was 26 (and they were already married at that time)
"What do you think of Lucifer?"
Camellia: He's amazing. He may not seem like it but he is a very caring person that treasures his family above all else. He's also very supportive, and understanding and respectful of my decisions. I'm so lucky to have him! ^^
Mammon
Her best friend and partner in crime. They are a chaos-incarnate when combined, much to Lucifer's dismay.
They are very protective with each other. Out of all the brothers (except Lucifer), the two of them have the strongest bond with each other.
"What do you think of Mammon?"
Camellia: Being his best friend is probably one of the best things that has happened to me. I can confidently say that his presence has changed my life positively. He is precious to me and that would never change. I do wish he'd stop getting in trouble every chance he gets. *sigh*
Leviathan
They get along pretty well because of their similarities in personality. They like exchanging recommendations with each other and has made it a bonding activity. Camellia often helps Levi through his social anxiety during social gatherings.
"What do you think of Leviathan?"
Camellia: Levi is an amazing person! I really love how he's so passionate about the things he likes, and I think everybody needs a little bit of that. I'm also grateful that I finally found someone who I can bond with over our favorite webcomics and light novel series. I hope he knows how awesome he is.
Satan
They also get along pretty well. He is her usual go-to whenever there's an upcoming test. They also bond over cats and go to regular cat café dates with Solomon. He knows Camellia owns a cat and is absolutely in love with Pepper (he is over the moon when he finally meets the cat).
Satan is her rambling buddy when her geek side is activated. And in turn, Satan tells her facts that she doesn't know yet and book recommendations.
"What do you think of Satan?"
Camellia: Sure, he's scary at first glance but he's a great person once you get to know him. I think his expressions when it comes to cats are quite adorable, but don't tell him I said that hehe.
Asmodeus
They did not get along at first but got closer later on. He's her fashion consultant (she has no clue when it comes to fashion lol) and her biggest hype man when it comes to her endeavors. He is also the one who helped Camellia realize her feelings towards Lucifer.
He brings her to some social events (with Mammon sometimes) so that she could experience more of the Devildom (his words). He is quite attentive of her during these events as he knows her social battery can get drained quickly. He only brings her when she agrees.
"What do you think of Asmodeus?"
Camellia: I cannot tell you enough how much I enjoy our time with each other. He is literally one of the nicest people I have met in my life. I have never met someone as supportive since I met Peachy, whom I met when I was in elementary school. I know I can rely on him and I hope he knows that he can rely on me too.
Beelzebub
Not as close as Mammon, Levi, and Satan, but they also get along well. He's her partner during workouts, and her No. 1 go-to when she needs help in general.
She occasionally bakes for him and she enjoys it. She does need his help reaching for the things in the cupboard though.
"What do you think of Beelzebub?"
Camellia: He's very nice. He may look intimidating but he's a gentle giant. Very sweet and kind, and he gives out one of the best hugs out there ^^
Belphegor
She had some trouble getting along with him after the events of Lesson 16, but she's slowly starting to open up to him again after bonding over astronomy.
"What do you think of Belphegor?"
Camellia: It's still a bit awkward around him but I know he's changed, so I'm giving him another chance. It's also nice to have someone knowledgeable about astronomy around, y'know?
Diavolo
They get along well so much so that the brothers sometimes say that they are like real siblings. They bond over things that they find interesting. Barbatos and Lucifer find the way they lit up over random things quite amusing to watch.
"What do you think of Diavolo?"
Camellia: He has this intimidating aura around him, but he's actually pretty cool to hang out with. There's never a dull moment when I'm with him. I like how he always works hard for the Devildom, and I respect him for that.
Barbatos
Camellia admires him a lot. She developed a crush of some sort towards him early on the start of the exchange program, though she never acted on it. She says the feelings she had for him at that time is akin to what a fan has for an idol.
Sometimes, she joins Luke and Barbatos's baking lessons for a chance to learn new recipes or skills. It become the highlight of her week if she does.
"What do you think of Barbatos?"
Camellia: He is so freaking amazing. Like– it's hard not to be amazed by him. He always does things so efficiently. It makes you wonder; does this man even make mistakes?? He's very nice but I definitely do NOT want to be on his bad side. Him being mad terrifies me a little.
Luke
She adores him a lot. They do a lot of baking together (sometimes joined by Barbatos and/or Simeon), and go to regularly planned outings with the other Purgatory Hall residents.
She is also protective over him, but even Luke is not safe from her teasing side, much to his chagrin.
With Simeon, the two of them tries to teach Solomon how to cook a decent and actually edible meal (there's no successful attempts yet, unfortunately).
"What do you think of Luke?"
Camellia: He is so adorable! He is like the little brother I never had!! There's just something about him that makes you wanna adopt him, y'know? It's also quite fun teasing him ehehe ಡ ͜ ʖ ಡ
Simeon
She finds his presence soothing. They both like to dote on Luke, and he sometimes give her some life advice or stories about the brothers, which she appreciates very much.
"What do you think of Simeon?"
Camellia: He is probably one of the nicest people I know. He's like a caring older brother figure for me. He's kind of funny when it comes to technology lol. Although he is quite scary when he's angry...
Solomon
She admires him like how a younger sibling admires their older sibling. They do like to tease each other from time to time and has a competition on who can fluster who more.
"What do you think of Solomon?"
Camellia: He's a very cool and funky guy. He is quite a menace sometimes, but it's part of his charm. I do hope he gets better at cooking though. It's obvious he likes cooking for others but you know the issue about his cooking...
Final thoughts/Facts:
She is my most developed character, as she was originally a self-insert character. She has some of my personality traits and my hobbies, but I decided to make her a bit more different than me because it feels weird to have a character based on me at the moment I created her.
She is not my first OC though (that title goes to her older sister, Lillienne Hyacinth Sanchez, originally named Lillienne Cordova)
Lillienne was supposed to be my MC's name in the game but they won't accept it, and I was obsessed with camellia flowers at the time I started playing Obey Me. And that was how she was created.
She was really fun to make and I love her to bits.
I'm really happy to properly introduce her to others!

something safe to read about izidora while i finish editing the (very long) timeline / things that won't fit in the post that i think is important.
izidora, her grandmother tala, and the rest of the women in her paternal family practice a form of filipino-based magic called albularyo & mangkukulam, which she learned from both her grandmother & her mentor, shah. she considers herself a bruha, and while she primarily uses albularyo / healing magic for positive reasons — such as assisting with the residents of her apartment building & community with a number of ailments as well as the magic actively used in the longevity pact for her immortality — izidora also uses a black magic form of mangkukulam in its' criminal punishment form. as a killer-for-hire, this is her main method against any abusers & those who harm others. (these jobs are always, always done for free.)
shah is the one who placed izidora in the apartment she now lives in after her escape & secured her a job as a waitress at a diner until she got on her feet & became involved in tattooing. she also continues teaching izidora, and helps with her poor eyesight. once izidora turned twenty three, she binded with her familiar — a large, black wolf named dante. she is highly thought of at her apartment complex as they protect her as much as she protects them.
i explained this before, but izidora is currently immune to death due to entering a knowledge & longevity pact with the guides within her spirituality. it is a soul pact, and she is given regenerative abilities sustained by a rare elixir — this is the reason why she is able to return to living after an extensive period of hours following a lethal injury. she is not yet immortal; just really close.
izidora is currently the primary caretaker of both her sister carina & her grandmother. she pays all of her grandmother's medical bills after lula suffered a stroke & required frequent care following the kidnapping of the banks sisters, and continues to practice healing magic with her despite tala no longer able to actively remain a healer in her community — most other witches are aware of & respect izidora as an extension of tala for this. carina, after being separated from izidora for four years, was found when she was nineteen & izidora was twenty two. she suffered from far more injuries than izidora did: while izidora herself suffers from legal blindness without the use of magic & has a large scar on the right side of her face after being cut from her right eye & cheek down to her jaw & neck area, carina’s physical symptoms are far worse. she required numerous hospital stays for withdrawal, underwent surgery for traumatic brain injuries that now leave carina with seizures, speech delays, night terrors, & mood stability issues, and is fully blind in her left eye & hard of hearing in her right ear — izidora continues to pay for her sister's care as a result of her regrets. carina is now twenty three, occasionally lives while izidora while not in treatment centers, and visits / facetimes frequently. their relationship, initially rocky, has improved tremendously. in fact, carina thinks her sister is 'the fucking coolest bitch she's ever met.'
