Greetings
Tumblr media
It is a pleasure to meet you all.
My name is Belos.
My son Hunter and his friend Luz found the idea of creating an account for me hilarious.
They talked about "advertising my alchemical studies" but I digress.
Nevertheless, it makes them happy and it is some form of a nice distraction from my regular work.
Feel free to ask any questions regarding my work.
Sincerely,
Yours truly.

So, can we just talk about the way that Philip's apparent ability to possess corpses didn't come into play this special?
I mean, the credits to King's Tide and the first half of the special showed Philip observing our crew from afar/implicitly roaming around Gravesfield on his own, and Hunter wasn't a corpse when he got possessed (aka being literally infected by touching Gooplos without a covering over his sowing machine puncture wound), so this corpse possession seems to be setting up something for the next two specials.
Or as Golden Demise on the TOH server suggested, there is one particular corpse that Philip could try his hand at possessing...
Tumblr media
Though then again, last we saw of the Boiling Isles, it was being ripped apart by the Collector to build an Owl House for "Owl House," and possessing the Boiling Isles would utterly destroy everyone's home, so perhaps that option might not be quite as viable for possession - let alone the maximum at which the Owl Crew will be pushing the boundaries.
Tumblr media
After all, there ARE the multitudes of other Titan remains scattered across the Demon Realm with one big graveyard on the other side of the world at that, which I would not be surprised if we travel back to at some point during the next two specials with the Collector's help.
And with so many corpses all in one place, what's to say that Philip can't potentially combine them in an effort to take out the Collector. Whereas one titan could only seal them away, just imagine what a horrific chimera of several titan corpses could potentially do.
Sure would be a great opportunity to flex the crew's inspirations from Fullmetal Alchemist even more, amiright?

Thanks To Them Week Day 6 - Sadness
“Collector...Caleb had blonde hair. This is black!!”
Have some nice, gutwrenching Fullmetal Alchemist parallels. The Owl House Wiki mentioned that Philip’s first Grimwalker apparently died on the spot (no idea where this was mentioned). How do I have to imagine this? Did it just fall over dead, or did it go full messed up human transmutation, with protruding ribs and spitting up it’s innards? Either way part of the drama comes from the fact that it just didn’t look enough like Caleb (the hair thing is from the fma manga but it would also be very noticeable upon inspection)

Another day- another AU- behold
Alchemist Philip!
Tumblr media
Some context of this AU:
Warning: Good Philip AU - and I still make it tragic
- Philip's and by that extent Caleb's childhood as well, was rough, they lost their parents due to both witch accusation and an accident that was totally not planned by Caleb
- Caleb took Pip to Gravesfield- far, far away from their original home - unlike their canon counter part, they weren't fond of the witch trials, but they didn't say anything otherwise they would have been accused
- Philip took interest in alchemy pretty early, often wandering out and gathering herbs, stones and other stuff, while Caleb became a carpenter apprentice. Caleb advised his brother to not share his interest to the townsfolk. His interest grew when he became sick with an incurable illness
- Philip is left handed, a sin at that time, which is how he got the scars on his left arm, basically school years were rough for him because he couldn't fit in
- When Caleb met Evelyn, Pip was around 10 years old, his brother 19 (idk if that makes sense in canon but whatever), he was at first sceptical of Evelyn, as he is of everyone
- He eventually warmed up to Evelyn, when she found his research journals on alchemy, where she wasn't disturbed by it
- When the witch general visited their home, because of some rumours regarding a witch in Gravesfield, he found Pip's research. Thinking it was some sort of witchcraft, Philip was accused as one
- Caleb tried to plead that his brother isn't a witch, just a curious young boy. The townsfolk did not believe him, thought that he was cursed to like his brother and just threw him in jail, so he couldn't intervene
- When Evelyn returned to Gravesfield, she heard of an upcoming witch trial. After finding Caleb in jail and learning what will happen, she attacked the witch general and freed Philip, she took both to the Boiling Isles. However, during the attack and fight that started, Philip got injured on his right eye, making him blind on said eye
- While on the Isles, they tried to fit in, Philip still refuses to write with his left hand, but he still continued his alchemy passion, which was helped by Evelyn who taught him everything she knows about potions
- Philip eventually found a way to be immortal- altough he did not intended that. It did cure his illness that was thought to be not curable
- The side effect is his gooey state, which he manages, like Eda, with potions
- Because of this, the residence of the Isles feared him, which is why he hides his human ears from now on - he later does so with a concealment stone
- For his 18th birthday (long before his life became an immortal mess) he got two gifts: A coat made out of witches wool, knitted by Evelyn and a palisman, carved by Caleb
- He watches over Caleb's descendants, sometimes offers them advice
More will come sooner or later - just wanted to explain some stuff first with this little doodle~

This episode pretty much solidified my thoughts on Belos
He is pure evil. He is a megalomaniac sadist who simply desires to hurt others, gain power and recognition. But he's not pure evil because he inherently lacks those qualities or was evil sense birth. Like characters such as Michael Myers or Henry Creel. Rather he is pure evil because he actively rejects any good qualities from himself.
Some were comparing him to Envy from FMA. And expected him to have a sad, tragic death even with how much of a monster he was.
The better comparison has always been Father from that series.
Both of them have simular plans at points. The 'day of unity' is clearly a nod to the promised day from FMA. And both of them end up becoming god-like beings by absorbing the settings equivalent to God. On that note both of them appear to give a righteous or 'holy' aura. Belos goes for the 'savior'/'prophet' image(And people have pointed out the way he looks like he's in a crucified pose in the finale) in Father's case his main form looks like the typical 'Bearded man in light' interpretation of God. In both of their cases, they are truthfully symbolic representations of the devil. With numerous parralels to Satan; making these visuals they take ironic. And both lose any dignity by the end and cowardly plead for mercy they gave no one else. While saying things to dodge responsibility for their actions.
Father once had some semblance of good qualities. He did care for Hoenheim at some point. Hence why he gave him an immortal body of his own. And as Hoenheim says, the reason he makes the other Homunculi call him 'Father' is because he secretly wants human connection and a family.
He simply rejected these qualities or threw them away. Out of his own selfishness. . He wanted to do away with any of those human qualities because he was 'above' them. He is still a very interesting character for this, and one could maybe still view him as tragic to a slight extent.
Philip is like this, he has human qualities or desires. He did love his brother and deep...deep down feels guilt over his death. He just rejects that fact, and ultimately his love for his brother. When he sees his ghost(literal or not) he makes it clear he blames him for everything and tries to kill him again. His upbringing did set him down the path of evil...but he spent centuries surrounded by chances to change his worldview. He refused, manipulating and killing those he tricked into trusting him instead.
He chooses to hurt and kill people because he steadily grew to enjoy doing those things. Threw away any of those sympathetic qualities and now only cares for living out his hero fantasy while gaining control over everything .
The overall point is that a pure evil villain, a complete monster does not have to be a flat character. They can be complex and interesting, Philip and Father certainly are. In cases like these it's a case where it's interesting how they actively choose to snuff out anything good in them. And the psychology behind that decision. They add to what makes them fascinating if anything.

"Greetings young lad."
He holds his quill in his right hand as he holds some kind of journal in his left.
He looked to the person right in front of him.
While some features felt familiar to him, some things were quite off and different.
"I have been informed by my sons friend, Luz, about the existence of different universes. It peaked my interest so I wanted to conduct a study on how different each universe is."
He explained calmly as his eyes now looked down to his opened journal.
"If you got time to answer some questions and explain how your world differentiates from mine, it would be greatly appreciated."
*The teen slowly gives out a wide shit eating grin. * Look at who we have here. Mr. ButterTwink, long time no see! *Philip spreads his hands to the sides, slowly walking up to the Alchemist as if he was the villain who got the protagonist in his trap.*
Since i am so nice, of course i am going to answer your stupid questions. With all seriousness and honesty. *It is unclear how many layers of fat sarcasm and meta-irony there is to Philip's statement. But he definitely wants to have fun with this conversation.*

would Philip like full metal alchemist? Just like the creator?
I’m not sure, actually. I know nothing about it other than that there is a character that wants to bring a family member back from the dead (I think). Philip would definitely relate to that character and their drive.

Had a rough day, one of my experiments exploded and I still have yet to get rid of the stains on my clothes, skin and hair.
Luckily no major objects were affected.
Buttermilk hid behind me, so she is fine.

Fantober 2023 Day 8 - Hands
"Don't leave me here like this! Please bring me back to life soon! Promise me?"
I love recreating messed up Fullmetal Alchemist panels with the Wittebanes ❤️❤️❤️
Philip deserves some freaky nightmares. Although they probably didn't help in the slightest with what was already wrong with him.

Belos x Male Human Alchemist!Reader
----------------------------
Working for the Emperor was already quite the honour in itself, who wouldn't want to work for the messenger of the Titan?
Yet you didn't only work for the Emperor, you worked with him.
He frequented your lab often for classified work on his staff and the like. You had a lot of informative improvements to offer and occasionally you would advise him while he would add new features.
Your relationship had been strictly professional.
..Most of the time.
If you didn't count the nights that you two would spend laughing over a scout's mission that had gone wrong in the funniest way possible. The mornings were he would stumble into your lab, clearly not ready to start the day and you would have a drink prepared for him to help wake him.
Then yes, professionalism.
It was nice and would continue to be as long as no one found out about your secret.
There was no easy to disguise your humanity, you had tried illusions and concealing stones but the effects were temporary at best.
Yet you had finally been able to manage by hiding your ears with accessories and clothing. No one seemed to be asking questions so you continued to disguise yourself without issue.
Of course, things never go as planned do they?
Certainly not for you, perhaps the Titan had some vendetta against you that you didn't know about?
You try to recreate Titan's blood one time-
Regardless, you had another issue at hand as the Emperor had been sitting at your lab table way earlier in the morning than you had expected and you did not have your ears hidden.
You both remained in a long silence before you broke it with a yelp as your hands flew to your ears.
"You-" The Emperor stood from his seat. "You're a human."
With no clue what to do, you turn to run back towards the door in hopes of at least stalling the situation. You could hear Belos calling out to you as you shut the door to your room. It had been connected to the lab for convenience, but now you were beginning to see the problems with having both being so close.
Your mind was racing with ways to explain yourself, maybe you could say that it was a prank, maybe you could say it was a side effect of your work or maybe--
"Are you alright?" His voice came from the other side of the door and you froze.
After a sigh, you forced out a reply. "I- Yeah."
How were you supposed to address that?
You fell quiet so he tried to continue on. "Are you really human?" He asked again with a tone in his voice that you couldn't place.
The silence should have been telling enough but clearly he wanted a straight answer so you told him. You told him that you were a human and that you had been trying to hide it for so long, you didn't think that you would have slipped up like this.
You could have sworn you had heard a sigh of relief before he knocked on the door. "May I come in?"
With hesitation, you unlocked the door and he stood in front of you with a gentle smile. His hand lifted your chin to face him since you hadn't been able to make eye contact, worried about his reaction.
"Oh my dear.. we have much to discuss, you and I." Belos had looked at you with such adoration it had caught you completely off guard.
He took your hands and led you out to the lab to sit with him.
Things had changed drastically when he found out you were human and he told you that he was too.
Instead of Belos-- or now that he told you it was Philip, he would show up almost every day. Sometimes it was for improvements and other times it was just to see you.
He would bring you breakfast and just sit, talking with you. You wondered if he knew that you noticed the longing stares he would give you.
You were professionals, even when you had both fallen asleep on the couch in your room with your arms wrapped around eachother.
It was strictly professional.
