Look at these two and tell me they're not father and daughter!
I mean, they have the same eyes; they're tuxedo cats; they have similar facial features; and most importantly, they have white paw/paws!
Okay, for those who don't know, El Guante Blanco is an elder tuxedo cat, adventurer, and swordsman who is Puss in Boots’ former mentor. His right paw is the color white, earning him the name "El Guante Blanco," which is Spanish for "the white glove." He has clothing similar to Puss's (hat and belt with sword) but doesn't wear boots. He has a similar appearance to Kitty Softpaws. His black fur appears to be mildly sun-bleached, as it can appear tawny. As he aged, he also had many random white hairs scattered across his body. He is from the Netflix series "The Adventures of Puss in Boots."
I headcanon him as Kitty's long-lost father and mentor because Guante and Puss are like Don Diego de la Vega and Alejandro Murrieta from The Mask of Zorro. And Kitty is like Elena Montero, Don Diego de la Vega's long-lost daughter.
In the movies, Kitty was on par with Puss, if not superior to him, (in my opinion). How else would Kitty know how to move and fight like Puss unless she was taught by the very same person?
Being an adventurer and hero is dangerous business, and Guante probably had his fair share of bounties on his head. He probably felt that his life was too dangerous to keep his little "Kitty Softpaws" by his side and had to make the hard decision to give her to a human family that he thought would take good care of her.
So that's my basic headcanon and theory anyway; on another note, I am in the middle of writing a fanfiction about Guante and Kitty's backstory based on my headcanon, so be on the lookout for that, you guys.
Also, tell me in the comments below what you think about El Guante Blanco being Kitty Softpaws' long-lost father.
🚫 This is my headcanon, so please be respectful. 🚫
🚫 If you don't like anything in my headcanon, please don't comment. 🚫

Get To Know Your Fanfic Writer
Tagged by @penna-nomen, thank you!! <3 <3
When did you post your first ever fanfic? 15 May 2012, on LiveJournal. It was a very indulging secretly self-insert Peter Burke fic.
First character(s) you wrote for: The White Collar fandom. Mostly Peter & Neal and Peter/El
Main character(s) you’re currently writing for: Zorro. Sounds weird, I know, but gotta follow the muse...
Character(s) you haven’t written about before but plan on writing about soon: That is a good question. Nothing specific comes to mind right now. I haven't really felt the urge to write for a new fandom recently. All my projects are from my current fandoms. (Unless you count Alejandro Murrieta/Zorro as a new character - I do have a fun Mask of Zorro/Disney Zorro crossover idea). As for new fandoms, I do have a bit of an obsession with Good Omens at the moment, though I haven't had any specific idea popping in my head.
Fandom(s) you’re currently writing for: Zorro. And there's that White Collar/Forever crossover I haven't given up on yet. Oh and a hint of Person of Interest if you count that POI/Zorro fusion that I'm tempted to write LOL
Platonic pairing(s) you currently write for: Peter & Neal, Diego & Bernardo. As mentioned, thinking of a Diego & Alejandro story.
Romantic pairing(s) you currently write for: Rosarita/Diego, but in the past, mostly Peter/El (I honestly don't do much romantic pairings otherwise)
Your top 3 tags on AO3 (if you post your works on AO3): Fluff, episode tag, Angst. Yep, that sounds pretty accurate to me LOL
Your current platform where you post your works: AO3 and fanfiction.net
Snippet of the wip you’re currently working on:
At 7:00, Henry opened the newspaper he had brought with him and, still following the instructions given by his son, he opened it at the sport section.
“I saw a mockingbird in the park,” he said out loud to no one in particular and feeling rather foolish doing so.
Appearing out of nowhere, a short bald man wearing thick glasses sat down next to him and opened his own newspaper.
“What color was the mockingbird?” the man asked, without looking at Henry.
Henry startled and turned to face the man. “There’s more?!”

Fun fact?
In the 1998 movie Mask of Zorro with Antonio Banderas, the successor to Zorro is Alejandro Murrieta, who was brother of Joaquin Murrieta. Joaquin's death is what leads to Alejandro's quest for vengeance and becoming Zorro.
Today You Learned Joaquin Murrieta was totes mcgotes a real guy:
Tumblr media
Yup! He lived from 1829-1853. He was an outlaw operating in the California territory who became a popular, Robin Hood-like figure. The actual details of his life are a bit murky, and a bunch of legends sprouted up around him (that made him into a sympathetic figure), like that his wife was raped and murdered by Anglo-American miners, leading him to want revenge.
He and several members of his gang were killed by the newly-formed California Rangers, specifically Ranger Harry Love (a fictionalized version of him is one of the main villains of The Mask of Zorro played by the same actor who would go on and play non-Tom Cavanaugh Eobard Thawne on The Flash!), who needed proof to show that he'd killed him. So what do you situation? Welp you pickle his head in a jar of course!
No really.
Another detail that made it into the movie, although in the film it's because Captain Love is a crazy person who thinks it's a sign of strength, and keeps the jar under his desk. Nope, real-life Love just needed a way to prove that he'd done it.
[He did the same with Three-Fingered Jack's hand, another bandit who ran with Murrieta, and is also in the film.]
Joaquin Murrieta is sometimes thought to be the inspiration for Zorro in the original Zorro story, The Curse of Capistrano, and became a symbol of Hispanic and Mestizo resistance to Anglo-American power. YMMV on whether this is a good thing--he was, after all, a bandit who murdered people, including Chinese immigrants who were certainly not part of the problem of white American supremacy. The truth is probably a lot bleaker than the idea that he was a heroic outlaw type.
Still, I think he's an interesting fellow! And it's cool that the Zorro movie decided to incorporate his story into their fictional narrative. Because you don't necessarily expect to learn something when you watch these movies, huh?

Aaaaaaaand because I haven't been on Tumblr in two weeks..... here I am catching up on my old challenges :) Thank you, @valiantarcher!
1. Three non-romantic duos: Inigo Montoya and Fezzik (The Princess Bride, Diego de la Vega and Alejandro Murrieta (The Mask of Zorro), Indiana Jones and his father Henry Jones (Indiana Jones)

4. Last film: The Bishop's Wife (1947)
5. Currently reading: Tales from the Gas Station: Volume 4 by Jack Townsend
6. Currently watching: nothing at the moment, but I plan to start Monk soon

The Mask Of Zorro (1998) 8/10
Tumblr media
On the run from the men who killed his brother, Alejandro Murrieta (Antonio Banderas) seeks the company of Don Diego de la Vega (Anthony Hopkins) who trains him to be the next Zorro, a masked outlaw/hero of the people. However, Alejandro isn't the only one who is out for revenge.
Let me just say that Antonio is eye candy.
On a more serious note, this movie is entertaining, with eye catching sword fights, and several chases. Anthony Hopkins' appearance here is very stark compared to Silence Of The Lambs. Here he appears friendly and homely, the type of man you'd probably see on your morning walk. Compared to Hannibal Lector, whom you just want to rot in prison for what he did. He plays the mentor to Antonio's Alejandro, a brave, yet slightly naive person who just wants justice done to avenge his brother.
Catherine Zeta-Jones's Elena is so elegant, and soft spoken. She has moments of anger, and her fierce personality comes through at times, but she just wants peace, if anything. She's well rounded, and not easily swayed as she makes herself look. She's underestimated by the men in the film, but she finds a way to prove them wrong, in her own way.
The character Zorro is also the inspiration for Puss In Boots, also another character that Antonio Banderas plays. The hat, the signature 'Z', the boots and cape, are all stark references with Puss. (However, Puss uses a 'P' instead of 'Z').
There's not much thinking involved; this is a movie about getting revenge, really. That would be one of the themes. Another theme would be successor and mentor. There's also racism, sexism, and how the rich will do anything to stay rich, while keeping the poor people poor. All of these speak for themselves.
This is a good, funny, romantic action movie to watch, especially if you're bored.
