I think people overestimate how feminist team black is. If someone brings up how Baela should be the heir to Driftmark, it's always "she would've been Queen if not for the Greens!", ignoring that 1, she would be Queen consort, not a Queen in her own right, and 2 she has a legitimate claim in her own right to Driftmark. Team Black's goal is to crown Rhaenyra, but Rhaenyra becoming Queen isn't a win for feminism because it does nothing to dismantle the rest of the patriarchal system that exists in Westeros. From what we've gotten so far, it reads that Rhaenyra wants to be the exception and not the rule. Rhaenyra has made a lot of bad political decisions, which means she can't acknowledge Baela's claim because it would weaken her own claim (blatantly admitting her eldest sons are illegitimate would not end well for her to say the least). So she betrothes Jace and Luke to Baela and Rhaena to kind of atone for that, like as a consolation prize Baela will be Queen and Rhaena will be lady of Driftmark, neither of them would hold either title in their own right. It's good matches because the kids like each other and will treat each other well, but it's not a feminist win or a feministic liberation. It's usurpation, usurpation that takes place because Rhaenyra has to do damage control after having illegitimate children and after a serious of bad political decisions (both hers and her fathers, Viserys is the arbiter of this entire mess). To me, Rhaenyra is very reminiscent of Mary Queen of Scots, I can see a lot of elements drawn from Mary's history in Rhaenyra's story and character, down to their sons eventually taking the crown they failed to claim/keep.

okay so when the Aemond is pranked with a flying pig by his sibling and cousin its malicious and not fair towards Aemond from his cousins and they are barbasic and savages and Alicent's train moves towards them being bastards of Rhaenyra.
but then Aemond losses his eye which is the consequence of him taunting his cousins 'bastards' and 'lord strong', its a small 'training yard bluster' the same insult she must have been neatly saying it to her young boys and now it bare consequences which does not go according to her and leaves her up for confrontation is just an 'insult'
which otherwise would lead to death and exile.

Jon Snow and Cole Criston
Jon Snow looked at his tiny hands. He was back as a child, just after the fever, he thinks. Well, if I understand it right, he time traveled into the past. The people talk about King Viserys I. As he has no home now, it would work if he joined the Watch again.
Cole POV
Cole looked at the young child who seemed to be clutching a bastard sword that seemed like a Zweihänder in his tiny hands, but he seemed to defy all expectations as he brandished the sword with surprising skill and dexterity.
Defeating most of the bandits showed a nice future for the boy. Maybe he takes him as a squire at the Red Keep.
Cole made his way to the boy, but made sure the boy could hear him.
Jon pointed his sword and spoke in a very childish tone:" Who are you?"
Cole: " I am Criton Cole, Ser Cole of the Kingsguard. What is your name?"
Jon knew who that man was; he was the Kingmaker. " I am Jon Snow."
Cole:" A Bastard of the North. What are you doing so far in the South?"
Jon:" I have no idea how I landed here, but I am on my way to join the Watch."
Cole's eyes opened, and you could feel he wasn't very pleased:" You want to join the rapists and murderers; how old are you?"
Jon:" It's an honorable post and a way to have honor and pride as a bastard and a good future. And almost at my 6 namesday! "
Cole smiled at the words of "honor and pride" and said, " How about you join me for a few years at King's Landing as Squire before you throw away it all?" I don't think any Lord or similar would allow a young child to join the watch."
Jon knew he could just leave, but he was hungry and couldn't stop himself from whispering out, " Uncle and his lady wife said it would bring honor to the family. And a safe place too."
Cole wants to kill two people even more than Daemon, and that means a lot.
But in the end Cole got a Squire with Jon.
++
Ends with Criston becoming the father figure for young Jon. It was something interesting for Jon and at the same time, Cole too.
A/N
Queen Alicent connects the odds: Jon is Daemon's son... The way he fights everyone other than Cole, Viserys, and Jon, knew it.
Cole doesn't want to accept it, so he doesn't acknowledge it.
And viserys is viserys enough explained..

sorry not sorry for continuing to knightpost but like every now and then the thought hits me “oh is this what sports people are like. is this why they like sports” but then I remember that the vast majority of sports people do not have active and extremely gay crushes on the Sport Players(tm). like sorry 2 str8 men bc while I DO go to a joust to experience the glory of choreographed violence, I am ALSO there to swoon over sweaty men and leave fundamentally changed and at least 20 degrees gayer
anyways if they weren’t based out of fucking Florida I would fully consider running off and becoming a squire

Year of the Alice Day 347
This is my first (and hopefully only) one-year project (which will be only 365 days) and this one is Alice's Adventures in Wonderland-themed.
In this pic, Squire Flicker hears the Caterpillar asking "who are you" off-screen.
Made with Microsoft Paint.
Enjoy! ♠️♥️♣️♦️
