#aliens interacting with humans
For the ‘Humans are *insert word* here/alien fans fanclub’, I have another small headcanon:
I feel like most aliens (from aliens that travel planets, to aliens that are the embodiment of a nightmare, to aliens that are small and fuzzy),
would absolutely love David Attenborough. I mean they probably found out about Earth’s animals and how they live and stuff from watching his documentaries, because one human on a crewship put it on to help them fall asleep.
David Attenborough would be adored by all the cosmos I think.

What does Kirtch do when we start getting old and die?
Tumblr media
Real Vampire Husband situation ❤️
He'll never "adopt" another human, not because of grief, but because Kirtch has already decided that (Reader) is the bestest human ever, and there's no need to ever have another after them. Kirtch would extend their life for as long as possible with advanced alien medicine, but he understands that all living creatures die, and he wants to make as many happy memories with his pet before their time is up ❤️

Thinking abt human words that wouldn't properly translate into alien languages. Like u can translate inhumane into the alien word for cruel, but they might not have their own direct equivalent.
And cruel doesn't carry all the same connotations inhumane does, so some of the meaning is lost

Observation 1
Sentients of the stars, welcome back. This one’s ship has been placed among the debris field near Sol-4 for nearly two Terran weeks at this point.
This one is, unfortunately, unable to find the original comment, but one of you sentients, who is apparently from a not dissimilar race to the Terrans, commented that the size of this one’s crew would likely inform the Terrans of this one’s noble, diplomatic intentions. In addition, the species’ distaste for war would likely make them hesitant to attack unprovoked.
Bringing this up with Raxor has improved their mood. They had forgotten that other war-species have the urge to start conflicts and are driven to attack interlopers immediately. Raxor still urges that first contact should be done remotely…
A constant monitoring of the Terrans short-range communications has been underway.
Unlike this one’s own race, instantaneous communication is not reserved for the upper echelons of society. Any Terran with the resources may acquire the technology to achieve it. A far cry from the Xylokthian communications channels. These channels are reserved for Thalorix and special diplomats. This one has happy to have been given access before the mission began, although this one is many light-years out of range for it to be of use. Perhaps it was a symbolic gesture of importance.
Regardless.
The average Terran appears to give little to no thought to conflict given their communications. This has also eased Raxor’s mind. Raxor finds the Terrans to be a strange mix of Thalorix and Xyndri, in that they behave as the Xyndri but appear to think as the Thalorix.
An individual Terran can, seemingly, lose themselves in menial moment to moment tasks, much as the Xyndri. But most tend to have a view of themselves reminiscent of the Thalorix. Placing themselves in a position of greater import.
It truly is fascinating.
This one is excited to make first contact, but will have to wait authorization from this one’s assigned Thalorix ambassador, Lumina.
With that, on this TD 3rd of June, 2030, XD 4682C 4A 15L, feeling happy for the interactions, this is Elysia of Xylopthia, signing off!

Thinking today about how Shepard's conversation with Charles Saracino in ME1 is yet another example of Ashley disapproving of racism/xenophobia and parties like Terra Firma (samples below!). Still boggles my mind how people call her a space racist tbh
• If you ask him why the party commemorates Armistice Day (the day Shanxi was liberated from the turians) by protesting, the conversation goes like this:
Shepard: You're marking the end of the First Contact War with a protest? Saracino: As we have every year for the last 26 years. The war taught humanity a lesson that some would forget. If we don't stand up for ourselves, no one else will. Shepard (Paragon): I thought the lesson of the First Contact War was that there's other life in the galaxy, and they have opinions too. Saracino: Perhaps so, Commander. But if aliens feel free to express their "opinions" at gunpoint, why shouldn't we? Ashley: We should. But you're just looking for a reason. Saracino: I disagree. We have a backlog of grievances the aliens have ignored. Starting with Shanxi. Ashley: Were you at Shanxi? If not, shut your piehole. OR Shepard (Renegade): Every day I stand up for humanity. Often in the face of bullets. What have you done lately? You really think speeches help? Saracino: We all serve in our own way, Commander. I'm not a soldier, but I can tell the public why they should support your efforts. Ashley: Wearing a lapel on your uniform makes you a hero, huh? You wanna help humanity? Get out of your office and pitch in.
• If you ask him about Terra Firma, the conversation goes like this:
Shepard: I don't know Terra Firma's platform. What do you stand for? Saracino: Our core value is that Earth must "stand firm" against alien influences. Politically, culturally, and --in the worst case-- militarily. Ashley: It's a noble goal. Too bad so many of your supporters are just racists.
She disapproves of Terra Firma looking for ways to justify deliberate conflict with alien species, and gets worked up when Saracino uses Shanxi as a talking point in his own benefit. She, whose family was personally impacted by Shanxi for at least three generations, still refuses to fall for the easy trick of treating it as an excuse for xenophobia. Renegade dialogue options also show that she hates Saracino's guts for being all talk and putting no real effort into supporting humanity. I just love her.

Is there a tag for fun human-alien culture differences other than the “humans are space orcs” one? That one’s a fun tag, but it’s not really what I’m looking for (which is pretty obvious from the kind of content I post 😭)

an idea for the ‘Humans are *insert word here*’/ALIEN fans fandom: MUSIC & FILMS & PLAYS/MUSCIALS:
I had this idea in the back of my head for a while now…
what if Aliens or certain species of aliens never heard of Music?… like imagine a human is playing some music as they work and an alien hears it, and because they’ve never experienced it before it all feels euphoric for them…
they’d probably feel and could vividly imagine the lyrics as they happen aswell, and that would put them through astral projection.
I think it’d be the same for films & plays/musicals…
They probably would have a transcendant experience watching them, seeing the creativity of it all, feeling the emotions they see on screen or on stage, and going through this sense of euphoria & astral projection as they see something so bewildering… as they’ve never ever seen something like this, or atleast at such a level it can make them feel sad or angry or happy… it confuses them
which is why they now sometimes start watching moreand more of these films & plays/muscials and more music… so they can try to understand what it is that makes them feel so distant yet so close to reality as they hear & see this.
(like do you get what im saying?)

Won't Kirtch get lonely after we die if he doesn't adopt another human? Would he adopt a different pet? I don't want him to be sad 🥺👉👈
Tumblr media
You ever have a pet that almost ruined pets for you? Your absolute best friend, the sweetest animal you've ever met, whose personality was so unique and wonderful that you unintentionally compare every other animal to them? Kirtch wouldn't be lonely; he didn't get a human because he was lonely, but because humans are scarce since Earth is a no-fly-zone, and he was excited to get a chance to meet a human. He would miss (Reader) terribly, but he wouldn't allow his pain to taint their memory. Unless Kirtch hired a pirate to smuggle a human off of Earth illegally the chances he would even see another human in next to none. Maybe if he saw a human in terrible circumstances and felt the need to rescue them he would, but Kirtch works be content with the memories ❤️

Alien: So, what planet are you from?
Human: I’m from planet Earth!
Alien: Planet dirt??! Who the fuck calls their planet dirt?!!

Are you angry with her?? You would inform her if you were angry with her, correct? It would be illogical not to, of course. There’s probably a perfectly valid reason for your frustration so please inform her right away if there’s ever a problem and she will do her best to correct it. Just to be certain - you are not currently angry with her, yes? She’s only checking because she isn’t quite as adept at reading expressions as she’d prefer and you might - ah, you seem frustrated. Ensign? Ensign? Are you truly certain you aren’t-
