EVER RED: THE THEORY (MASTERPOST)
Tumblr media
This is a post compiling all the theories surrounding Ever Red from the Fragaria discord server
Last updated: Dec 2 2023
AMNESIA THEORY, THE TIMELINES
Fragaria's story is confirmed to be separated into two: The MVs and the voice dramas. This could imply two separate timelines. The 1st timeline is “ruined”, and the 2nd timeline (possibly the one for the MVs) acts as the present. In the Ever Red MV, there are lyrics highlighted in red, most of them pointing to them forgetting something.
Tumblr media
This theory is unrelated from Ever Red, but the main point of the amnesia theory is that the knights don't remember their "original" selves, their current names and forms being a show of their connections to their lords (hence why Hangyon's name is only 2 letters off from Hangyodon for example).
Tumblr media Tumblr media
These lyrics also point to something being forgotten (strawberry/fruit representing memories. Sweet and sour memories, a memory that ripens/develos as it is repressed)
But forgetting their old identities also means forgetting past events.
RIBBONS
Tumblr media
The ribbons represent the pains of the past. In this part, Hallritt sings "Once the ribbon is tied, the knot marks are still there." Once pain is inflicted, the wounds and memories are still there.
Tumblr media
The ribbon now ties everyone close to each other. The Red Bouquet will be there for Hallritt to help process his past, and make things right again (see next header).
I just want you to laugh, that's all I wish for Even if our memories are mismatched
Tumblr media
Hallritt is now being covered by the ribbon, except for his eyes. He must face the truth of what he did.
HIDDEN AUDIO, "ELDRITCH HALLRITT"
Refer to this post to listen to the hidden audio.  "Move. That dream… It was my fault." It was Hallritt's fault for the destruction of the 1st timeline. Around 3 minutes into the MV, there is a quick frame of this shadow version of Hallritt which me and the discord have named Eldritch Hallritt/Eldritt.
Tumblr media
(isn't he so silly <3)
He was the "original" Hallritt from the 1st timeline, and a manifestation of the current Hallritt’s true feelings and repressed memories. He knows everything. He was the one who destroyed the 1st timeline, and is here to make sure the Hallritt of the current timeline doesn’t mess up.
But what was Hallritt's mistake in the first place?
SEEDS
SEEDS are the antagonists of Fragaria's story. They could be the original knights, as seeds come first before flowers/bouquets. One day, they took things too far, leading them to be banished and replaced by the Fragarians.
They might have once tricked Eldritt/The "original Hallritt" into joining them, which led to him ruining his contract with Hello Kitty, destroying the 1st timeline. Eldritt then reset the timeline into the current one, and is watching over the current Hallritt to not make the same mistake he did.
BONUS/MINI THEORIES
My friend Angel pointed out that "Fragaria Memories" sounds similar to "Fragmented Memories"
System Hallritt - Eldritt is an alter for Hallritt (+ is a protector or a gatekeeper) who wanted to prevent him from finding out the truth, but they can't run from it forever.
Bouquet leader doomed yaoi (I don't have a better name for this) - If Cielomort and Badobarm find out about Hallritt's secret, they could get angry and not trust him anymore. If this happens, the conflict could grow, repeating what happened in the 1st timeline that led to its destruction.
Hangyon and Chaco know - These two are suspicious. For Chaco, his title is "The detour dog with a hidden motive." The hidden motive could maybe have something to do with SEEDs. For Hangyon, if he knows what happened in the 1st timeline, that could be why he's close with Badobarm specifically. He watches him for any signs of the past repeating itself.
In a world that continues to change Only time will never come back Yet no one can take away our memories (EVER RED) I'll never forget them for eternity Living in memory No one can see it, but it'll never disappear Ever certain, ever red

Don't Care for an Old Man's Underwear! Ep 2 Stray Thoughts
Thanks again to @isaksbestpillow for making this watch possible.
Last time, we met Okita Makoto, a middle-aged supervisor of a copier sales company whose toxic masculinity has let him down in his professional and personal relationships. He regularly offends his juniors (especially the women on their team), his kpop stan wife, mangaka daughter, and queer son. An unlikely encounter with a self-assured gay man led to the start of a new friendship, and Okita has promised his son that he will work to update himself so he can connect with his family and peers.
I am a little sad for this man that the opening sequence was a dream. As off-putting as he is, I do think he genuinely cares for his family.
Mm, ruined it immediately by being rude to Moe.
Oh, Okita. You can't walk it back right away like that. You're going to kill the trust of your team. You just said that people have a right to their breaks.
Oof, that was painful. Growth is not easy and not a straight line.
Wow, finally a show captures the constant pressure heteronormativity places on you when you don't fit in with it. That was an excellent sequence when Kakeru hesitated at the door.
Genuinely, this show is doing really well so far. It's putting in a lot of empathetic work on a man whose position allows his bad behaviors to cause issues for other people. I like that the show doesn't demonize him, and shows that his actions come from a believable human place. I also like that they use the wise gay child to ask the big question: Do you want to connect with others, or have you given up on people altogether?
Bro, you really should not have opened her mail. Even if you were concerned you broke it, you should have just called her down. This is not cool.
I actually like this junior's explanation of why he wears a bra. I'm glad it wasn't a gender thing or even an expectedly queer thing. He just wanted to feel like he's supported and that's enough.
Okay, I'm very excited about Okita Makoto going to sell yaoi at a fan event. I hope he brings Igarashi Daichi with him.
This flashback for Moe was also so good. We all make flippant comments about things we don't like or understand all the time. We won't remember it, but the people around us might. In this case, Moe knows her father will never understand her passions and can't share them with him.
Yes, Daichi!!
Everything about this con is excellent so far. Makoto may be getting shock at everyone's outfits, but he picked up immediately at how determined everyone is and appreciates their discipline.
I love Apple.
Daichi doesn't know what a fujoshi actually is? There's something interesting here about a self-actualized gay not even participating in this part of fandom.
Okay, I'm alright with it. He has the right attitude.
"People who love something are strong." He's beginning to believe.
Yes, Daichi, go on your date!
I teared up when Moe got emotional about Makoto selling the books, and love them ending that moment with her scream about him looking inside the work as a way to check on Kakeru.
I'm glad Makoto only observed that moment between Daichi and that guy, and has to confront the practical reality that Daichi is gay, and not just some magical youth that helps him. Daichi has a life.
Ending on Makoto seeing Kakeru as he wants to be is an excellent way to end this, because he's forced to see that people find strength in passions outside of his experience and must apply it to the people in his life.
This show is so good. There are quite a few characters, and the way they're weaving them into the narrative of the episode is truly special. In this episode we had Kakeru struggling to leave the house because he can't feel safe being seen as he is, while Moe is fighting to get out of the house because she needs to be seen by her people. Makoto is trying, but he's still not ready to see everyone the way they are. This is so legible. I am rooting for everyone.

19. what's been keeping you up at night lately?
your mom.
ok just kidding. uhhh not much. maybe the mistakes I need to fix and this distinct feeling of wrongness that lingers.
6. what role do you play in your group of friends?
let's ask them shall we
Tumblr media Tumblr media
42. how did you meet your best friend(s)?
aha i actually wanted someone to ask this one! I'll give you three stories
sri: when i was in kindergarten i remember very clearly seeing this fucker in the restroom. she pulled out her handkerchief and made a banana out of it? i was not impressed. but she then proceeded to eat it/put it in her mouth. which I was impressed with. and then she saw me when I got stuck on the very top of this giraffe thing which you can climb. a teacher had to come up and get me down. bitch was just staring at me the whole time. didn't move a muscle. i love her so very much.
vhas: ok so. i had (have. love her very very much she's a menace and we met in a whole other way) a best friend and I got them into wattpad when I was 13. or 12. idk. then that friend in turn went to a classmate and made them join wattpad. so now all three of us started writing very bad very cringe stories. i was writing a straight romance paranormal story and vhas was writing some tragic yaoi godbles. i read it and fell in love with his writing. so one day, without warning, I just went up to him and said "hey! i love your writing!" and fucked right off. no intro no how are you no nothing. we ended up talking in hangouts (rip) and I made covers for his stories and shit. and then the rest is history.
sree: this is the menace friend. she lives really close to my house. first way we met was through our school bus (we took the same one and I sat next to her one day). she was reading harry potter and we figured that we both loved books. i introduced her to a few. and the very same week I went to my classical music class and they were there. i was like ??? but we became quick friends. proximity, similar interests, orange slices and stupidity. yeah. they're pretty neat.
22. how old were you when you joined the internet?
around 12, i think
38. what is your love language? i'm very expressive about my love for people, but the main ones are: physical touch, words of affirmation and gift giving.
33. have you ever thought about changing your name?
nope! i love my name very very much :D
47. how well-decorated is your bedroom?
not much. at first i had a sticky notes wall filled with quotes poetry etc etc but then had to take it down because it was getting dusty. then there's this huge ass micky mouse sticker stuck on my wardrobe (my dad bought it when I was a kid). skk chibi figurines and iwaoi standee both from my lovely friend vhas. then books. a few magnets stuck to my wardrobe. that's all
50. what do you consider most important in a romantic/platonic partner? being ready to put in work in the relationship. must be an open communicator/must be willing to try. oh, and a good sense of humour (this is very specific btw. i have a type. i will not elaborate).
92. who's in your dream blunt rotation? great question. idk if I'll ever smoke weed but. if I do tay will be my go-to person (@spiderbends)
90. weirdest habit?
i bite people. is that weird? idk
72. which is more important when it comes to clothing, comfort or style?
comfort all the wayyyy
75. how would you describe your favorite person?
icarus. burning wings. the kindest smile. the bravest man. lover, healer, believer. object of all my sweet dreams and sweetest nightmares.
70. when it comes to affection/intimacy, do you prefer to stick to one person or are you more open about it?
intimacy/affection to me isn't strictly connected to romance. and I'm a very affectionate person by nature. i love fiercely. all my loved ones will be bombarded with my love. get loved, loser.

jesus man, i had a dream.... Okay, you know those stupid italian comedies from like the 60s/70s like the bud spencer and terrence hill movies, uuh fantozzi (?), like those movies, right? My dad loves them, he loves watching repulsive old italian men in slapstick comedies. And I dreamt up an entire movie like that, except it was weirdly gay. It was an Italian comedy movie from the 60s about this loser 20 something year old (clearly played by a 40 year old man) who got dumped by his girlfriend and he moved in with an old war veteran. And dude. I wanted those disgusting old italian men to pork nasty. like the 20 yr old was reckless and dumb and the old war veteran was a little crazy in the head and they got into all kinds of shenanigans. what sealed the deal was that there were tons of people in the movie who constantly assumed they were living together for gay reasons. i dont remember why they were actually living together. It must have been for gay reasons.
It's amazing. i want ugly italian old man yaoi. love blooms across all generations etc. etc.

rereading part 2 thoughts (part 2)
For all that Yuko is a crazy fangirl using a hero to justify her want for blood, i kinda like that she's not far off in that "Chainsaw Man kills bad guys" without nuance.
Also her saying the reality of CSM going to her school disappointing because he doesn't stop bullies, only devils. How would a Denji like that even look like, considering he... Doesn't have a solid grasp in human morality conventions...
Those panels where the bubble is behind the window... So cool
It's probably just a japanese school clothes convention (?) but i like how the devil hunters look like Jotaro. I think they are organized in a way that makes sense, if they were dealing with a weaker devil they could've had a chance...
This type of club should be illegal, then again, with so many deaths, i guess it's logical that people just don't know how to regulate things like teenagers wanting to be heros
Gives more weight to the theory that Yoshida's organization wants to make people avoid seeing devils in a more positive light or people think making contracts with devils is good
Btw why is the Justice Devil preying on so many kids? First the class prez, now Yuko. It seems as if its looking for something, maybe Justice also wanted to fight Chainsaw Man...
Yoru having a guerrilla armament hiding in almost every classroom is kinda badass. Also the fact she wanted to use Yukos body parts, because Yuko is Asa's. Yoru is neutral to this lesbian drama, but waiting to see what'll happen next. She's like me watching telenovelas
So messed up that she compared herself to the gun devil.... Her sense of justice is completely warped up. But that's the thing about justice right.... The way people use it.... And why they fear it....
Becoming a symbol once again is relevant... It really makes me wonder what will happen to Denji sjsjs
It's interesting that Yoru asked what Yuko offered in exchange and Yuko said nothing. I don't remember if they say it later, that's why I'm re reading. If Yuko is just lying, then that's funny. Of Yuko really didn't have to offer anything, then the Justice Devil was super duper using her for the shady reason they use school girls.
Klk reference
Yoru looking at the power of possessions coming from deep love with surprise... She already tried to found Asa a bf please don't get ideas in your head sjsj
Like a child's justice.... Pure revenge. The believe that just destroying the school will bring peace... Also justice devil is so funny for contracting with two morally dubious high school girls in love
The fact she blamed someone else because she couldn't accept SHE hurt Asa. Funny. But not funny haha
Never meet your heroes absjsj
You know Yoru feels smug that Denji is indeed Chainsaw Man like she told Asa to keep talking to him. Well, that if she recognized him
I suppose Denji tries to reveal things slowly because he thinks that makes him look more cool. I personally would've just transformed in front of the tv cameramen. But i guess we wouldn't have a plot
Also Denji trying to convince the frightened girl that he's human <\3
I don't understand why Yoshida hand signal has to be like that... Unnecessary
Also I've always thought Fujimoto's male hands had way too long fingers but it makes sense if he reads BL like ajsjsjsk long finger yaoi men Aki and Yoshida. You know he's giggling while drawing them
The way the girl looked at Asa... I wonder if she'll start a rumour...
Hilarious that they live in a world so bleak and dark and yet they say a girl has no backbone if she makes a deal with the devil... Truly a realistic depiction of society, kudos to Fujimoto
That dream is so cool... Visually i mean. Kinda makes me think Asa will keep killing every innocent that comes in contact with her.... Whatever it does mean, it will be sad. That Yuko sword must be powerful too...
Door leitmotif
Would you still love me if I was a worm
Also did she become a fiend and if she did, were Yukos feeling enough to mix with Justice, or Justice is just letting Yuko do whatever because if fits their plan
Yuko: I'm a bad person because I did something good to you because I wanted to be friends. Me: sure that's a sound logic, totally not warped up by loneliness and fan culture
Other people's thought drown her head. She can tell she doesn't really think that's justice... I guess, in order for true justice to happen, you need absolute truth. But truth is sooo warped up by people's perception of things... And a human can't hold all that in her head. So it seems justice is fickle. But i don't want to analyze justice too much as a concept, because Fujimoto and me come from two totally different cultures.... Also Fujimoto just does whatever anyway, like it's more about the vibe than a deep set philosophy. Then again Makima was pure domination in every sense of the world, so we shouldn't underestimate this story
Was Yuko fighting a complete possession? Also she's confirming here that yeah, Justice is at school looking for something.
Asa but you deserve to laugh, it's absolutely hilarious ajajsjs
Never promise to give back something like that... It's manga curse
That man is way more muscular than Yoshida c'mon, i don't think it'll be him but welp, we have to wait
Chainsaw Man part 2: Chainsaw Men
I like the art style a lot but the shadows are a bit distracting, they look too cartoony.... What's the point of that? Maybe it just looks cool

The Husky and His White Cat Shizun - Chapter 33
Original Title:  二哈和他的白猫师尊
Genres: Drama, Romance, Tragedy, Xianxia, Yaoi
This translation is based on multiple MTLs and my own limited knowledge of Chinese characters. If I have made any egregious mistakes, please let me know.
Chapter Index
Chapter 33 - This Venerable One is Off to Find His Weapon
Chu Wanning was shocked by the sudden kiss. He couldn't make out what Mo Ran was muttering. His words were just buzzing in his ears like static.
Mo Ran lightheartedly muttered a few words then fell asleep again.
". . ."
Chu Wanning wanted to shake him awake.
However, the begonia flowers on the tree outside the window by the bed had just bloomed. Just as Chu Wanning raised his hand, a pale pink begonia flower softly drifted onto the tip of Mo Ran's nose.
". . ."
Mo Ran sniffed uncomfortably, but he continued to sleep soundly and still didn't wake up. So, the hand that was reached out to shake him awake, by some miracle, changed directions. Chu Wanning picked up the begonia and pinched it between his fingers, examining it carefully.
While looking at the flower, lost in thought, he slowly started to remember some details.
He vaguely remembered that Mo Ran had cleaned his wound for him yesterday and fed him some soup.
After that, Mo Ran seemed to hold him close, stroking his hair throughout the night, whispering in his ear.
Chu Wanning was dumbfounded. He must have been dreaming, right?
The tips of his ears subconsciously turned red, resembling the brilliant colour of the begonia flower resting in his fingertips when it was in full bloom.
He swiftly swallowed his reprimands.
Really. . . He didn't know how he should scold him.
"Why are you sleeping here?"
That sounded like a sloppy woman having an affair.
"Get out of bed! Who told you you could sleep with me?!"
That sounded like a sloppy vixen.
"You dare kiss me?"
In all honesty, it was just the lips that touched. Compared to that time in the illusion, it wasn't really a kiss. With all this debate, it seemed like he was just trying to cover it up
". . ."
Not knowing what to do, Elder Yuheng could only silently roll onto his side on the bed, burying his face into the bedding. His slender fingers gripped the sheets, a little annoyed and irritated.
In the end, he chose to break Mo Ran's arms and legs. He sat up and brushed off his clothes first, and then shook the other party awake.
So, when Mo Ran opened his drowsy sleepy eyes, what he saw was Elder Yuheng sitting by the bed with a profoundly cold look on his face.
A cold sweat immediately broke out.
"Shizun, I --"
Chu Wanning interrupted indifferently: "You broke my Flower Spirit Sacrifice Technique yesterday?"
"I didn't do it on purpose. . ."
"Fine." Chu Wanning was very cold, waving his sleeves like nothing, "Get up. Go to your morning lesson."
Mo Ran was about to collapse. He rubbed his hair a little anxiously: "Why am I sleeping here. . ."
"You were tired." Chu Wanning was very calm. "Looking at you like this, you must have been busy yesterday."
As he spoke, he glanced at the medicine on the table: "In the future, don't barge into the Red Lotus Pavilion without permission. If you want something, report to me in advance."
"Yes, Shizun."
"You may go."
Ta XianJun felt that he had barely escaped with his life and ran away in a hurry.
When he left, Chu Wanning laid back on the bed. Raising his hand to open his palm, he looked out the window at the brilliantly flourishing flowers through the gap between his fingertips. The wind-blown flowers fell like fragrant snow.
The soft hue of the begonia was like a fragmented memory of last night.
Very light, but difficult to distinguish between true and false.
He decided not to take the initiative to bring up yesterday's affairs.
It was too embarrassing!!!
Elder Yuheng cherished his reputation like it was gold and would rather die than tarnish it. So, a few days later, when Mo Ran saw Chu Wanning again, Elder Yuheng was still calm, noble and cold, graceful in his white robes.
Neither of them actively mentioned the cuddling that happened that night. Every now and then, however, when their eyes met, Mo Ran's gaze seemed to linger on Chu Wanning for a while, and then, out of habit, chase after Shi Mei.
And Chu Wanning?
Whenever he met Mo Ran's gaze, he would immediately coldly turn away. Then, when the other wasn't aware, he glanced back at him, seemingly inadvertently.
Xue Zhengyong soon learned that Chu Wanning was punished.
Sure enough, the venerable lord of Life-Death Peak was defensive over his shortcomings and immediately made a big stink about it. But this stink wasn't doing anything for anyone, so he could only sulk behind closed doors.
——He should've added an extra rule when he made the sect rules: Elders are above the rules.
Madam Wang made a pot of tea and talked to him in a hushed voice. Only then did Xue Zhengyong calm down, but he still said: "Elder Yuheng is naturally stubborn. If he does this again in the future, you must help me persuade him. Something. He is a shizun that the other sects of the upper cultivation world couldn't even dream of having yet he suffers here like this. How can I make things right?"
Madam Wang said: "It's not that I didn't try to persuade him out of it. You know that Elder Yuheng is a very stubborn man."
Xue Zhengyong said: "It's just a matter of time, madam. Bring me some of those muscle-relaxing and pain-relieving medicines you've mixed. I'll go see Yuheng."
"Take the white one internally and apply the red one externally." Madam Wang handed the two small porcelain jars to Xue Zhengyong, and said, "I heard Ran'er say that Elder Yuheng has been rubbing down the lions at Naihe Bridge these days. You should be able to find him there."
So Xue Zhengyong grabbed the porcelain jars and rushed all the way to the edge of the jade bridge.
Chu Wanning was indeed there. At this time in the afternoon, the disciples were busy practicing and few people passed by Naihe Bridge. On the winding jade bridge, Chu Wanning stood alone, standing tall and upright, with a strong character.
Forest leaves on both sides of the river, white clothes against the bamboo; the posture of a gentleman.
Xue Zhengyong walked over and smiled heartily: "Elder Yuheng, are you looking for fish?"
Chu Wanning turned his face to the side: "My Lord must be joking. This river flows through the yellow spring water of the underworld, how can there be fish."
"Haha, I'm just kidding. You're so elegant that you're no fun. You won't be able to get a wife if you go on like this."
Chu Wanning: ". . ."
"Here, the wound medicine, my wife mixed it. The white one is taken internally and the red one is applied externally. It works very well. Here you are."
". . ." Chu Wanning originally didn't want it, but seeing that Xue Zhengyong was so proud of the medicine his wife made, he couldn't refuse it. He accepted it and said lightly, "Thank you. "
Xue Zhengyong was a rough man, but facing Chu Wanning, he was a bit cautious. He didn't dare try coming up with just any sort of casual small talk. After thinking about it, he picked a topic: "Yuheng, in three years, the Spirit Mountain Sword Discussion will take place. When the time comes, young talents from various sects will gather together to compete for a higher and lower level. What do you think are Meng'er and Ran'er chances of winning?"
Chu Wanning said: "That's three years away. It's not easy to say. I can only say that, at the moment, Mo Ran isn't trying to make any progress and Xue Meng is gullible and conceited. They both aren't where they should be."
He spoke dryly and meanly, without beating around the bush.
Xue Zhengyong couldn't keep a straight face, and muttered: "Ah, these young kids . . ."
Chu Wanning said: "They're weak, not young."
Xue Zhengyong: "That's true, but they aren't even 20 after all. As a father and uncle, it's inevitable that I'll be a bit biased, haha."
Chu Wanning: "To nurture without teaching is the father's fault. To teach without severity is the teacher's laziness. If these two people go down the wrong path in the future, you and I are to blame. How can you be biased?"
". . ."
Chu Wanning added: "Does Lord remember that Linyi Rufeng Sect also produced two heavenly sons back then?"
When he mentioned this, Xue Zhengyong's heart suddenly sank.
More than twenty years ago, the Linyi Rufeng Sect, the first major sect in the upper cultivator world, once had a pair of brothers, both of whom were young and very talented. The two of them were able to subdue a hundred-year-old demon alone at the age of ten, and at the age of fifteen, they had reached the point where they could create their own techniques and start their own sects.
However, there is no room for two tigers on one mountain*. As both of them were among the highest-ranked cultivators, the siblings ended up in deep rivalry. At the Spirit Mountain Sword Discussion, the younger brother was despised by all the sects and spurned by the elders for spying on his older brother's techniques in advance. After the meeting, the younger brother was immediately punished by his father. He was arrogant and haughty. From then on, he held a grudge, specializing in wayward tricks, and finally degenerated into a heartless demonic cultivator.
*(T/N: 一山不容二虎. Same thing as "this town's not big enough for the both of us.")
Chu Wanning mentioned this old matter right now, undoubtedly wanting to tell Xue Zhengyong: Although Xue Meng and Mo Ran are excellent, their well-being is more important than their techniques.
It is a pity that Xue Zhengyong is harsh on himself and serious with his disciples, but he is lenient with his son and nephew to the point of spoiling them, so he didn't listen to Chu Wanning’s words, only scoffed and said: "With Elder Yuheng's guidance, they won't follow the path of those two brothers."
Chu Wanning shook his head.
"Human nature is stubborn. Unless you are painfully determined, it's easier said than done."
When he said this, Xue Zhengyong couldn't help but feel a little uneasy. He didn't know if Chu Wanning was implying something. After hesitating briefly, he said: "Yuheng, aren't you being a bit . . . Well, like I said, don't be offended, aren't you somewhat looking down on my nephew?"
Chu Wanning did not mean that. He didn't expect Xue Zhengyong to misunderstand him like that and he was speechless for a moment.
Xue Zhengyong said anxiously: "In fact, I don't particularly care if they can come to prominence in three years. Especially Mo Ran. He grew up with a lot of hardship, his nature is inevitably a bit stubborn and twisted. I hope you don't dislike him because he was raised in an entertainment pavilion. Alas, he is the only flesh and blood left of my elder brother in the world. I always have some bias in my heart for him . . ."
Chu Wanning interrupted Xue Zhengyong and said: "My Lord has misunderstood. I won't look down on him. If I minded Mo Ran's background, why would I be willing to accept him as a disciple."
Seeing his straightforwardness and resounding tone, Xue Zhengyong said joyfully: "That's good, that's good."
Chu Wanning's gaze fell back down to the river rolling under the bridge. He watched the flooding waves surge up, waves fighting clash. No more words were spoken. It's a pity that the conversation between the two on the bridge and Chu Wanning's confession were just like in the previous life, easily swallowed by the waves.
In the end, no one else heard that he was "not disgusted" by Mo Ran.
Three months of grounding passed in a flash.
On that day, Chu Wanning summoned his three disciples to Red Lotus Pavilion and said: "Your spiritual cores are all stable. I have summoned you here today to take you to Rising Sun Peak so you can try to summon your own weapons."
Upon hearing this, Xue Meng and Shi Mei's eyes widened and a joyful look appeared on their faces.
Rising Sun Peak was a sacred mountain in the upper cultivation world. Its peak is 1000 feet tall and it stretches for more than 10 000 feet wide.
According to legend, Rising Sun Peak was once the place where the god Gouchen Shanggong forged his sword. Gouchen Shanggong is a god of war, in charge of the north and south celestial poles, and dominates the world.
When the Emperor of Heaven was slaying demons, Gouchen Shanggong used the mountain as his base, the lake and the sea as a pool, and his own blood as the raging fire and forged the first real "sword" in the world. This sword struck through the heavens and earth. The natural order was torn apart, and the sea flowed backwards.
The Emperor of Heaven took the "sword" and suppressed the demons under the earth in two strokes, making it difficult for them to rise up from then on.
And those two moved across the earthly frontier, cracking out two hideous deep valleys. After this battle, the heavens rained down, ghosts cried in the night, thunder crashed, and the torrential rain poured for thousands of years. The two deep trenches cut by the divine sword filled with rainwater, and it became the Yangtze River and the Yellow River that gave birth to countless lives.
As for the world-breaking Rising Sun Peak, it has become a sacred place of worship for immortal cultivators generations later. The aura left behind by the ancient god is so dense that, to this day, countless mysterious spirits still haunt the mountains and exotic flowers and plants continue to grow. Numerous cultivators also peered at Rising Sun Peak to break through the Great Dao and ascend.
But for the rest of the world, the biggest attraction of this strange peak where the divine sword was cast is still its "Jincheng Lake".
It is an ice pool on the top of Rising Sun Peak, which is frozen all year round.
According to the rumours, when Gouchen Shanggong made his divine sword, he cut through the palm of his hand and squeezed out his own divine blood, and a drop of blood splashed on the lowlands of the peak. After millions of years, the divine blood had still not dried up. It formed this clear and visible right to the bottom golden pool, embraced by future generations.
Regardless of whether this rumour is true or not, the golden pool's wonder was not. Although it was frozen three feet thick all year round, there were very few Taoist priests who could make the pool water temporarily melt with the power of their spiritual core, and an ancient beast will jump out of the lake with a weapon in its mouth and offer it to the people on the shore.
Xue Meng asked impatiently: "Shizun, what ancient beast jumped out when you received your divine weapon?"
Chu Wanning said: " A Kunpeng."
When Xue Meng heard this, an eager light flashed in his eyes: "Amazing! I get to see a Kunpeng!"
Mo Ran: "Wait until you melt the lake before you talk."
"What do you mean? Do you think I can't melt Jincheng Lake?"
Mo Ran chuckled: "Oh, why are you angry? I didn't say that."
Chu Wanning said: "It won't necessarily be a Kunpeng who brings the weapon from the lake. It is said that there are more than a hundred sacred beasts living in Jincheng Lake, guarding the martial arts spirits. As long as one of them likes you, it seeks the weapons it can obtain and offers them to the person on the shore. Moreover, these sacred beasts have different temperaments, and they will make various requests of you. If you can't complete them, they will take their weapons and return to the bottom of the lake."
Xue Meng wondered: "That's how it is? Shizun, what request the Kunpeng request from you?"
Chu Wanning said: "It said it wanted to eat meat buns."
The three disciples were stunned for a moment before bursting out laughing. Xue Meng said: "I was scared to death. I thought it would be something difficult."
Chu Wanning also smiled faintly and said: "I was just lucky. These divine beasts have strange and unusual requests, they could ask for anything. I have also heard that someone summoned a Xishu, and the little rat asked that man to let him marry his wife. The man didn't agree and the Xishu left with the weapon in his arms. Since then that person has never had the chance to cultivate."
Shi Mei murmured: "That's such a shame . . ."
Chu Wanning glanced at him and said: "What's a shame? I respect him."
Shi Mei hurriedly said: "Shizun misunderstood. I didn't mean that. Naturally, exchanging your wife for a powerful weapon is out of the question. It's just a pity that he missed out on such a divine weapon."
Chu Wanning said: "It's just a rumour, but it's a pity that I never met such a person. Many years ago in Jincheng Lake, I saw how wretched the human heart could be."
He paused, seeming to remember something, and his eyebrows furrowed.
"Never mention it. Over the past thousands of years, Jincheng Lake has witnessed swaying loyalty and also many people who have been exposed to the unfairness of the world. In front of the martial arts spirits, how many people can give up the opportunity to become a cultivator? Stick to your morals without hesitation . . .? Haha."
Chu Wanning scoffed. It seemed that something in his memory was grinding him. His expression gradually became indifferent, his lips finally tightened, and he kept silent. His sharp eyebrows frowned slightly, and seeing his expression, he seemed to feel a little disgusted.
"Shizun, it is said that Jincheng Lake's divine weapons have a temper, so did you use yours smoothly on the first try?" Xue Meng changed the topic when he saw that he was displeased.
Chu Wanning raised his eyes and said faintly: "As a shizun, I have three divine weapons. Which one are you referring to?"

January Favorites 2021!
GREETINGS
------------------------------------------
February 06. 2021
Hello,
I actually wrote a lot for this month, perfect way to start off the new year! I have been catching up and watching some dramas and some of the new anime this season, which i’ll discuss a few down below. I’m just realizing that the manhwa recommendations list is growing very long and it reading those titles that i have discussed made me reminisce on some of them and most of which I would re read again. I tried to read some shoujo manga again and thought the stories were shit, so i don’t think i’ll ever go back. I’m thinking of starting some shoujo manhwa’s because I have a few titles that seemed like they might have an interesting plot line. I’ll list in in my favorites if I do end up reading those, but so far i’m still filtering the BL titles .lol.
I’m just going to put this out there now before you read the “Hell segment” I mentioned a few titles that were popular that i dropped and I listed the reasons why i dropped it, they are popular for a reason and if you like that and don’t take the plot line too seriously then that’s on you, but i don’t like the subject matter being glorified rather than “lesson learned” if you know what i’m saying so take my comments down there with a grain of salt...it’s just how i read it and interpreted the subject matter, it has nothing to do with the creator and their thoughts. This is going to apply to all of my reviews, they are just my opinions only so don't take what i say seriously if it you are offended that i happen to diss your favorite manga.
Anyways, i have no music recommendations this month all i have been listening to is podcasts, so listening to people talk about nothing.lol. That’s what my life has come to...
If you would like I can share a few that I have been listening to, let me know.
Alright, you all have a lot to read to i’ll just end here.

So crash into you is now finished and you can now read the entire thing, so happy it ended really well and of course if you have seen my last favorites journal I made and entire post dedicated to this manhwa. The story is really heart breaking and definitely deals with more adult and mature content and it really is disturbing in some parts, so viewer discretion is advised.
That’s all i have to announce as an update, the rest is still ongoing. This month I came up with certain themes for my hell segment, last month I started with some manhwa that all had a common theme of Scum antagonists that you will run into when reading these manhwa, some of which ranges from mild inconvenience to this piece of shit should be set on fire. If you have not read that please check it out and watch me rant about stupid people.
This week featured another theme that you will run into reading shounen ai/ yaoi manhwa and manga, it’s a very universal theme of “threesomes”...I don’t get it, I don’t get why people think that’s  okay to have three dicks in a room...i’m like there’s three dicks here, that’s way too many..lol. to each their own I guess, but i’ve selected three to talk about that also deals with mature themes and a bunch of people making poor decisions.
But before that, let’s talk about the normal shounen ai manhwa/manga that I have to recommend this month.
-----------------------------------------------
Welcome to heaven
-----------------------------------------------
1) Inner Beauty:
Tumblr media
“Minjae’s been dumped. Fed up with their long distance relationship, his actress girlfriend Hye-Eun left him while he was “finding himself” in Australia. When Minjae rushes home and runs into Hye-Eun and her gorgeous new man, Woochan, at the airport, drama ensues. Amidst the chaos, the two love rivals bang heads. Upon waking, they discover they’ve changed bodies! Why have they switched? How will they cope? Will they ever be able to go back? Find out as Minjae and Woochan embark on a journey that takes “self-discovery” to a whole new level!”
Firstly this reminded me of the k-drama secret garden, if you have seen it you know that the main protagonists switched bodies at some point and with this manhwa, it happens in the first chapter. I liked how the relationship between the two boys started with minjae’s girlfriend leaving him for another man woochan, and after minjae and woochan switched bodies because he wanted to give the girlfriend a necklace as a gift , he switched bodies with woochan after bumping into him. They went to a shaman to seek out various ways to get back into their bodies while they find out things about each other that they were not aware of,  in the end minjae and woochan were drawn to each other. The necklace is a tribal ornament that has a mysterious power to show a person’s past through their dreams. It seems that the reason why their bodies keep switching was because there was another necklace that was similar that was supposed to be it's partner; they go a try to search for the mysterious phenomenon surrounding the necklace that leads to their relationships with other people changing.
my favorite part of this story is that woochan and his father didn't get along very well because of a misunderstanding, while other parents didn't admit to their mistakes, woochan's father wanted to do so and repair his relationship with woochan, which made the story more compelling. Theres so many manga plot lines whee the parent is abusive and harsh and never did they think it was thier fault, but in this story woochan's father mans up to the things he did and how it affected woochan and i'm really happy about that.
Another thing I like about this story is the end where woochan who was an actor turned director made a film about his and minjae’s relationship because he wanted their story to be remembered and inspire other relationships that were similar to their own to overcome their hardships. This story has so much meaning and it’s something I would recommend to anyone who just likes a good story.
2) False Memories (lee gpiee):
Tumblr media
” Wan’s got a face that scares everyone away before he can really become friends with anyone. So when Ha-woon befriends Wan on his first day at his new school, Wan is elated. Ha-woon must be an angel! It doesn’t take long, though, for Ha-woon to betray him in a terrible way, and Wan discovers Ha-woon might be more devil than angel. But then an accident happens that gives Wan a second chance at friendship with his angel. And it all starts with one big, fat lie.”
This one is really interesting, it is about a boy named wan and he was the new transfer student at a new school and how despite how he looks he wanted make friends this time around. Hawoon met wan when he was climbed off of a tree and fell on him, he immediately took a liking to him and befriended him, being very grateful to have finally met a friend he wanted to be a very likable person to hawoon, but then it was discovered that hawoon had many secrets and is not the kind person he is portrayed to be. There was an incident where one of his followers was spying on him and he wanted wan to essentially beat that person up in front of his other gang members. Obviously wan didn’t want that and this caused some strife between the two of them and wan began to be bullied by hawoon and his gang members. Later hawoon was trying to escape from his brother who went to his apartment to look for him and ran into wan who hides him over night, things tooka turn for the worse when hawoon thinks wan is being really nosy about his business and pushes him away and that is when the guy who hawoon wanted to beat up his him on the head and hawoon woke up with amnesia. Being the only person who had witnessed that, wan brought hawoon back to his place, when hawoon woke up with no previous memories of wan he lied to him claiming to be his best friend and the tow of them started to pursue this new friendship, of course things don’t last forever and the both of them discovered that hawoon in fact had many secrets that he preferred to keep under wraps especially about his family.
I know a lot of comments have said that it was stupid to lie to him about being friends but I understand that it was wan’s way to know the real hawoon. Hawoon’s personality was built by the lack of trust he has received from people and he was never able to open up to a person about anything. I really liked how the incident ended up saving their relationship in the end and they have a lot of cute moments together while going from being friends to being in love with each other. This is a very wholesome story and if you like that plot you will like this story, it really is not complicated.
3) Hand in Hand:
Tumblr media
“While running a small pharmacy in the outskirts of the city, Sam meets a mysterious and out of place patient. This man named noah who was covered in bruises every time he had stopped by the pharmacy, Sam noticed that he seems to be in worse shape every time they meet and became curious as to why that might be, one day he saw noah getting into a shady van with a bunch of people and discovered that this town had a secret that kept everyone involved very secretive. Noah who was discovered to be a part of that society still goes and sees sam in order to be close to him, sam was then reeled into his world and became part of that society that was kept hidden.”
Sorry I had to write that summary on my own cause I could not find a good summary, so basically the pharmacy was inherited by Sam when his father passed away in this small town, there was no one to take over for him so Sam had to give up his dream of staying away from this town to moving back to take over the family business, There one night upon closing he meets a man covered in bruises while coming in to buy some alcohol and cigarettes, he treated him because it looked painful and was curious about him,
This curiosity escalated when he saw him get into a van with a bunch of ugly dudes, the pharmacy assistant said that there were gangs running around and it was best to avoid these people. Sam made the assumption that it was these men that were beating that man up and decided to pull him away from them. Noah then introduced himself to sam as they walk back to noahs apartment and he showed some interest in sam and asked what he wanted as payment for his treatment, Sam of course didn’t want anything which made noah surprised, but relayed to him that the offer still stands when he feel like telling him.
Not only being curious that noah shows up in front of him each time with more bruises but the fact that he may have discovered the town had a secret.
It was in fact an underground gambling scene that caused a lot of people to be very irritable, noah was involved in this and called it “work” as he had a debt to pay back to the person that took him in. Sam didn’t want to be involved but because of his interest in noah the two of them became romantically involved upon a few meetings and Sam started to develop feelings for him and likewise noah was in love with Sam.  I’m not going to spoil the end because it was really intense, if you like mysterious plot points to your story this one will do the trick, it will keep you guessing as to what will happen next.
4) Stanning 101:
Tumblr media
“Ji-Yul Park is an ordinary office worker who spends his spare time stanning a boy group, unlock and more specifically it’s leader, Jay.One day, he time travels back to his past where he encounters Juno, another idol and becomes his manager. What happenes when Juno develops feelings for Ji-Yul? Would Ji-Yul choose loyalty with Juno or his fanboy fantasy with Jay? And what is the purpose for Ji-Yul traveling back to the past-what is he supposed to repair or change?”
I’m not going to lie this title...don’t let it fool you, I thought this was going to be a satire on the whole K-pop fandom and just a story poking fun at k-pop fans...but boy was I fooled..LOL. This summary doesn’t even begin to describe how deep this story goes.
So as the summary says it’s about a fan named ji yul who is a stan of a group called “unlock” and his favorite member Jay was going to leave for military service and he was really bummed about not being able to see him for a while, so he went out drinking with his friends who share the same interest and cried his eyes out wishing that he could go back to the time when jay and his group first debuted.
And of course....that happened some how he was enabled into a time skip backwards to when the group first debuted. He first met up with a roommate that he was going to be sharing a room with, this was none other than juno a trainee a small company, Juno was a sensation later on in history and he was a rival of the unlock, and of course being a stand of jay he didn’t like the idea of being around juno. Upon meeting ji yul was already drunk and the next morning found juno and him had slept on the same bed, this made things between them awkward. But upon a series of events he became juno’s manager and inevitably began to understand the person juno is and how hard he worked, as well as his ties with jay. While trying to figure out what was the reason for the time skip he met another person who was sent back to the same time for a different reason his name was suho, and suho was here for another person named rose who was a in a different group. Rose is a sunbae of Juno’s and the two of them are acquainted, But there was something about Rose that was alluring and that made his “ sponsors” want to see him all the time, this lead to a lot of conflict within his group, saying that he’s the kind of person who would sleep around with anyone that has money.
Suho was a fan of rose and the reason he came back was because in his time he had found out that Rose had committed suicide, now....this is a topic that i feel very strongly about as you may know if you listen to k-pop news there are certain group members from famous groups that have committed suicide as of late, a lot of which was diagnosis of depression,
This story deals with not only suho having had gone through depression and suicide attempts but Rose who was going through that as well, Suho wanted to make sure rose stays alive, so when he was able to meet him he did all he can to be beside him and get him away from these sponsors that clearly only want one thing from him. This had made rose and suho close enough to develop romantic feelings towards each other, it gave rose the courage to confront the ceo from the company. In the end the company ceo was being a dick and tried to force rose to sleep with these people in order to get chances to be on screen and promote their group. One of their members knew from the start what rose had to go through and after rose was being hunted down by the ceo after disappearing, the member took footage from the ceo of all the nasty things he made rose do and gave it to Suho? I don’t remember this part well, but suho somehow go the usb footage and saw that rose had been sexually abused and assaulted by those men. Rose had went to see suho at the time and saw that he found the footage, at that moment he wanted to jump off the railings because he felt ashamed, but suho explained that it was rose’s music that saved him from doing the same thing he tried to do which was of course suicide.
Needless to say, at least in this story suho’s love for rose was able to keep him alive and as soon as suho w able to convey that he had disappeared and asked rose to find him in the future. I chose to write about Suho’s story because I just want to put it out there that suicide and depression are real struggles and to please seek help as soon as you can. Back to ji yul and juno, they in fact had developed feelings for each other and ji yul was sent back because he was in car accident with juno and in the both of them lost their memory of each other that was why ji yul only remembered Jay and being a fan of unlock while not remembering the times he shared with juno and how much he loved him. This made. He was able to tell juno after some time that he is in fact from the future and the both of them tried different ways to preserve the time that they had before ji yul would be sent back. Ji yul tried to defy fate but it turns out the accident happened to juno being in the car without having him there, meaning things will still take its course and you can cheat fate. So ji yul grabbed juno who was still unconscious and put him into the passenger’s seat and said his goodbyes to him, wishing for them to meet again even though knowing that it could be impossible for them to be together in the future he drove into the upcoming traffic. Ji yul woke up again back in the time he belonged the only thing he can remember was seeing juno’s picture in front of him and tears leaving his eyes.
Omg this is a k-drama all in one package, this is where i’ll stop because the manhwa is not finished, so if you liked my summary of it so far please read the actual thing, you will not be disappointed, I promise you.

Welcome to hell
-------------------------------------------------
I don’t know how to begin this segment after writing all of that for the heaven’s segment, those stories were just so good compared to the trash that i’m about to share here. But most of the trashiest stories have more complex plot points than normal stories. I mean you need to go through hell to come out the other side right?
*warning* this section talks about mature content! 18+ only, read at your own risk!
Let’s begin then.
1) Private lessons:
Tumblr media
“Hajoon has been crushing on Eun-woo ever since they started college together, but he hasn’t had any opportunities to get close with him. At least they have a class together this semester: a lecture taught by the popular Professor Seo Joohyuk. Hours after the first class, Hajoon remembers he left his assignments in the classroom. Upon reaching the lecture hall, he becomes witness and accomplice to a series of private lessons Joo-hyuk is giving Eun-woo—lessons that unleash his own deepest, riskiest desires.”
I’m starting off strong ...oh where to begin? This story has so many messed up characters, I’d have to say all three of them are messed up. Firstly I don’t care if your professor looks like a  dilf (urban dictionary if you don’t know what it means) you should never get involved with them. Lol. And I don’t know what school you people go to to have professors that look like this...all of mine were crusty old men who were mean and arrogant.
I makes me sick to think that there are some older men that would take advantage of people like the way Joohyuk did with Eunwoo and Hajoon. Hajoon just wanted to get Eunwoo’s attention, but because of joohyuk, he took “notice me senpai” to the next level. but I guess i understand from hajoon’s point of view that if he does nothing, he will never be change his relationship, so if he liked him then getting involve would be a way in. Eunwoo was so enthralled with joohyuk that he would just be a sex partner knowing that he would never have potential feelings for him in the end. I did feel sorry for him at first but then there was this part in the story where they were all preparing for this festival thing and he and hajoon were in a group and had to be waiters for the night of the festival, this was when eunwoo started to somewhat show interest in hajoon. Then that fricken dilf was like “you’re doing things on your own and i’m going to show you why you shouldn’t defy me...” or something like that, asserting dominance saying that eunwoo would always choose me over you to hajoon, and indeed on the night of the festival when he was supposed to work, shit went down between hajoon and this senior and fight broke out while hajoon was defending eunwoo , only later to find out that eunwoo was screwing the dilf in his office while all this was going on, I think i felt my veins snap...this idiot had the audacity to f around with that dilf while hajoon was working his ass off and even defended him. Smh....anyways in the end Eunwoo fell in love with hajoon and gave up on his feelings over joohyuk, knowing that joohyuk will always look at his other partner seojin. So in the end it worked out, but this whole story is a dumpster fire of trash.
So moral of this story is don’t get involved with dilfs, don't simp for them...lol. Just don’t do it. I don’t recommend this story for the content but if you are into trash and BDSM, then maybe this is the one for you.
2) Behind the scenes:
Tumblr media
“Korea’s hunkiest top model Woo Taeyoung has decided to try his hand at acting once more. No more of those teen heartthrob roles, Taeyoung has his eyes set on a much more…mature role. And when he finds out his idol, the dreamy Koo Min-ki, is set to be one of the main actors of the film, he is even more determined to get the role as his co-star. The two seem to have a natural chemistry with each other…both on and off screen. Will this end up helping their performances? Or will it cause their worlds to come crashing down?”
This story is a also a dumpster fire of flaming garbage, it starts off with a model turned actor named taeyoung who works mainly as a model but is secretly a fan boy of another famous actor named minki and he went to his fan signing in disguise, only to be discovered by the fans and cause a racket and minki ended up injuring himself. This caused taeyoung to be able to meet minki in the most embarrassing way, but he wanted to make it up to him by helping him until his injury was recovered. One night minki was driven home by taeyoung and they ran into another popular actor named wonho...(monsta x..lol. i’m so kidding don't kill me...) and this dude saw minki coming out of taeyoung’s car and immediately became violent...
there it is red flag!
Turns out wonho was minks boyfriend, taeyoung only knew that his favorite actor minki was in a 10 year long relationship with his girlfriend, says the media, but he didn’t know that it was a man...and this violent piece of shit at that. Taeyoung had heard rumors of wonho being excessively violent to anyone who comes near minki and anyone who has worked with him always was threatened by wonho. So even though taeyoung reluctantly left minki with wonho he still was really worried, rightfully so.
Wonho is the worst kind of garbage out there; even being in a relationship he still forced minki into having sex with him. This is rape, even if you are in a relationship it means the same thing it’s non consensual and disgusting. Not only this but being violent to everyone that is near minki, is enough for anyone to end this relationship. But minki was that idiot who believed that the old  wonho he once knew  would come back one day and so this ongoing relationship abuse lasted for a long time. Taeyoung of course got an opportunity to make his acting debut, and auditioned for the of minki’s character’s lover, it was the first queer film in production so to the director it was a passion project that he wanted to see succeed. He passed the audition and showed his potential and chemistry with minki on screen very well, so the director was happy casting him in the role. But of course guess who finds out and showed up on the film set...wonho. He obviously made minki uncomfortable and also taeyoung, but in series of events taeyoung went to the bathroom and found wonho and minki making out inside and realized the person he admired was gay and was in a relationship with wonho for a long time. Later on he got to know minki more and found that he had romantic feelings towards him rather than just admiration. Because minki and wonho’s relationship was abusive minki was contemplating on ending it but didn’t have the courage to, it was taeyoung who showed genuine feelings for minki that was able to push minki to move forward. So while this was going on, wonho was in fact being sponsored by a certain person in order to get roles in his acting career, this person was taeyoung’s cousin...yeah i know messed up,. This dude is very toxic and made things go wrong between wonho and minki and that’s how their relationship went downhill for 10 years. Anyways to sum it all up a lot of stuff went down and wonho’s actions were no longer acceptable and as soon as minki found out this ongoing sexual relationship between wonho and taeyoung’s cousin, he broke it off with him finally and moved around different places for a while since wonho would not leave his apartment he couldn’t go back. Taeyoung and minki ended up dating each other now and he succeeded as a model turned actor with this role. Wonho after a series of events was able to let minki go after seeing him one last time and apologizing for everything he’s done to him. The movie was very successful and won many awards and the ending of the series just showed taeyoung and minki talking about their relationship on screen and off screen to the viewers...hence the title “behind the scenes”
Okay this trash made me angry and sad at the same time since it talked about a relationship that has gone bad and two people refusing to leave it since they have been together for a long time. You know when you should end things and if a person starts to change there is no way for them to be the same again. So all in all this story is really good for depicting all sorts of relationship issues and drama. I would say yes give this read because the story itself says a lot about the writer and how they think. This is one of those stories the pull you into the depths of hell and once you resurface your see things in a different perspective.
3) Turn off the camera:
Tumblr media
“Yeon Jihoon is the leader of an idol group that’s hit a dead-end in their career. Now, he’s received a golden opportunity to save his group: a spot on the year’s most anticipated reality show, where he’ll spend two weeks living and filming with top stars Do Yoojin and Seon Yohan. The one threat to the show’s success? Yoojin and Yohan won’t stop having sex with each other. To stop a scandal from tanking the show and his career, Jihoon must keep his co-stars’ antics hidden from the cameras at all costs. Will Jihoon be able to keep these steamy shenanigans a secret for two weeks? And will he survive when both of his co-stars turn their attention on him?”
This is some straight up kinky garbage, like the description says, jihoon got the opportunity to promote his group by becoming a member in an upcoming reality show with two popular actors, the show is a reality show of the three of them living together doing daily activities while cameras are installed in their home. You can see where this is going right? When jihoon first arrived into the house to greet the other two actors; yoojin and yohan and he found the two of them in a room having doing sexual acts and even tried to cover for them when the camera crew arrived up stairs in the room.
After several attempts of the other two actors having sex at different points in time jihoon became very aware of the fact that they were doing this for the fun of not being able to get caught having sex on camera. So basically this was like a fun game to the two actors.
Yoojin and yohan were caught the third time by jihoon while having sex on the kitchen table and so the three of them had a discussion and jihoon made them sign an agreement not to touch him...of course that didn’t work and he was caught in unfortunate circumstances surrounding the both of them, to the point where both sex partners started to want to pursue jihoon for themselves.lol
This manhwa is just straight up kinky trash, it is meant to be a satire on three some relationships and not meant to be taken seriously, so just going by that, there’s not much point to the story, it’s not in depth it’s just interesting to watch jihoon reject these actors advances in order to save his virginity.lol. I feel like from the recent chapters jihoon maybe more interested in yoojin than yohan so i’m waiting to see if yohan even has a chance to be on jihoon’s radar.
This is still ongoing and it only has 20 chapters so far so i don’t have that much to say about it, this was just something really normal in terms of yaoi to read while I was reading some dark stories, the art is really nice too if that is of any interest to you.
*********************************
So there are a couple of series that are quite popular that I have left out because I have dropped then fairly early on.  one series called “Hate or Love” which i started a while back then and didn’t like the whole plot of having an abusive sibling forcing another sibling into a sexual relationship... i’m like nope...
This manhwa should have just been called “ Domestic boyfriend” I would have avoided it all together, because I have read “Domestic girlfriend” it is essentially the theme, and a giant dumpster fire of flaming garbage.
The main reason i stopped it was because the other person that I was hoping the main guy would end up with didn’t end up as the “ winner” well from what the comments said anyways, cause i stopped fairly early on when i found out the guy i liked was not going to be the end game, that makes me sad cause from the early chapters that i have read, there was a lot of sexual tension between the two of them and I was hoping this author would not push abusive sibling relationship as the plot...but looks like she did ...and i don’t care for it and find it gross...but that’s my morals, even if they were not siblings by blood they grew up together as siblings...that’s still vastly inappropriate. I'm used to it since I grew up with Japanese anime and manga with incest themes, but it still bothers me.... Vampire knight...
Even if they were not even related, i still would not like that red haired dude regardless cause his character seems like a dick, and i don’t think he suffered enough consequences for his actions to make him a redeemable character in my opinion. And also...out of 7 billion people on this earth, you would rather be with your brother...smh.
Also if we are talking about using sibling relationships in a sexual way as a plot line, then how i interpret this manhwa is that it is focused on more of glorifying abuse and sexual relations between siblings rather than making the subject matter more serious, if you know what I mean. But to each their own if you just read it because it interests you then feel free to do so, i’m not interested and decided to just drop it early on.
The other one is called “ Yours to claim” another popular series but again I don’t like dark haired dude,  I think he’s a dick and if it was me I’d choose the blonde guy, he seems like he would be a person that would treat me better. I just don’t understand the appeal of being treated like shit by people, if anyone treats you like that...please dump their ass! Because It’s not okay! Both of these have the “ other guy “ as the better option for a potential relationship but they always choose the other messed up abusive/ bad boy and i just don’t why...i just feel disappointed but literally not surprised since it’s an ongoing trope in any sort of romance based media.
But needless to say there is nothing for us as the audience to do but to read them, we don't make any calls on who the person ends up with and the plot lines that happen in the story, so that is that i guess.
I’m having a mental breakdown just thinking about these two series, i included then briefly cause they fall into this weeks’ theme of trash.

Nothing special to share in this department this month, mostly listening to podcasts .lol.

K-DRAMAS/SHOWS
-------------------------------------------------------
The tale of nokdu:
Tumblr media
I described this drama as the mulan reversal, if you know the story of mulan, she dresses up as a man and goes into the imperial army camp to fight in the war in place of her father, nokdu is an adopted child that was suddenly hunted down by a bunch of assassins one day and instead of fleeing with his father and older brother he decided to follow the assassin into the city since he was able to injure them in the leg. He followed the assassin into town and was almost able to catch them when he was suddenly arrested from a disturbance another young man in town has caused. Later he found out that the assassin was heading to a village that was out of sight and exclusively to women, in order for him to go in he would need to dress up as a woman, the opportunity arose when he helped a young woman escape from the village with her husband and she gave him her clothes in exchange for his to escape. He then infiltrates the village and now has to chase after the assassin and try to kill the mastermind behind the assault on his family. But what he discovers was more than what it seems. This is 16 episodes and is completed if you want to watch it; I recommend it since its really good.
True beauty:
Tumblr media
Everyone and their mother is watching this web toon turned drama, I say this cause my sister who gave up watching any k-dramas watched this one and read it...this is something, she doesn’t like a lot of things so i decided to watch it after she told me it was good. I watched it and I didn’t like it mainly because the problems in here is very much a young adult type of problem, like having acne and having to deal with bullies at school, these are all problems you mainly deal with when younger so none of this drama is relatable so I didn’t enjoy it. If you like the high school romance drama setting you might like this, but I have watched so much more meaningful dramas, this doesn’t do it for me.
That’s all the dramas I have watched so far, I mainly have been listening to podcasts instead of watching anything, I find it hard to find an interesting drama to watch these days, I have been enjoying listening to people talk about nothing lol.

ANIME
---------------------------------------------------------
Haikyuu:
Tumblr media
Finished Haikyuu season 4 part 2, I left this for a while so that all the episodes were finished and every time I watch it i gives me the same feeling every time. This part focuses on a lot of characters that were not fully flushed out in the first few seasons, like tanaka and nishinoya and one of the bench players...i forgot his name. I really like their portrayal of hinata this season he really is the saving grace of karasuno, not because of his obscure skills in volleyball or incredible stamina but because he’s playing volleyball because he loves it and it is fun even if the stakes are high. I feel a lot of the players here this season were so stressed they forgot that the game is supposed to be fun, and he keeps reminding them that it is what it is and that they should live in the moment. I loved seeing that develop in his character because i feel like there was too much focused on kageyama for a while and I wanted to see more of hinata’s growth.
So I was pleased with season 4 and I can’t wait to see more, haikyuu is really one of those anime that people are widely talking about now and it really is well deserved.
Skate the infinity:
Tumblr media
Another sports anime about skate boarding, the animation is really nice and art style is really beautiful. I know there are so many sports anime out there now but this one is really interesting, I like the relationship between the two main characters reki and langa, it reminds me of the friendship between riku and sora in Kingdom hearts, reki teaches langa how to skate board from scratch and langa being a previous snow boarder was able to race one of the best contenders in the underground skating rink and beat them in a match but of course he isn’t a genius so he wanted to learn everything from the ground up since he thought it was fun. Lol. I like seeing the progress so far in their skating journey, this anime is really wholesome.
Dr. Ramune mysterious disease specialist:
Tumblr media
This is a very satire anime, It is really comedic and deals with a doctor treating weird diseases, like the first episode there was a girl with a disease that made her cry out condiments as tears. It's actually very interesting in terms of the types of diseases they treat in each episode and how he uses these magical items to do so, that is a really bad explanation for this show but please watch it .It’s interesting so far and I’ll write more as it finishes.
so as a finishing statement, I hope you all enjoyed the favorites for January, I have been able to catch up on a lot of things which is why I have so many things to talk about this month, I already have the next theme for the Hell segment planed out for next month, so I can't wait to share that, if you like the manhwa recommendations and my excessive ranting so far.
until then. please take care of yourself and your love ones ! lunar new years is coming up, have a great year and I hope 2021 will be a lot better please follow me on my social media listed below if you'd like
thanks!

rey! do you have any recs for kdramas? i have never watched any, but i like lovable characters and romance ? thank you in advance!
Tumblr media
I DO IN FACT HAVE DRAMA RECS HII not all of these will be kdramas, but ill start with the kdramas ive watched and enjoyed and ill include all the warnings for them that i can remember off the top of my head and a brief synopsis for u!
kdramas-
1. weight lifting fairy kim bok joo
this was probably one of the first kdramas i saw people post about in like 2015 and i watched a little bit of it in 2016 but then only just got around to finishing it last year. the basic gist of it is its about a young sports college weight lifter, kim bok joo, centering around her navigating through her life and trying to figure out who she is and what she wants in life and what she wants to be. her romantic interest in the show is a swimmer and they have a sort of rivals to friends to lovers, he is SO in love with her and its adorable. i absolutely loved the side characters in this show theyre all so fun and kim bok joos best friends and weight lifting team are especially delightful. my main warning would be that this show addresses eating disorders and theres a lot of mention of both weight gain and weight loss, theres also a plot point early on where kim bok joo has a crush on her eventual love interests older brother but it gets resolved and the older brother literally goes "i didnt realize you had a crush on me and if i knew that i wouldnt have been so friendly with you, it would be completely innapropriate for us to be in a relationship". overall its a really sweet and emotional fun show but if you have issues with weight talk id skip this one
2. tale of the nine tailed
this one is really recent from last year and i didnt expect to be so hooked by it but boy howdy did i get attached to all the characters and the wild plot. it feels hard to explain the plot but basically a nine tailed fox named lee yeon is living in modern day seoul and is working for the underworld finding paranormal spirits/creatures/other rogue foxes that are causing havoc on the world, hes resigned himself to living this life while waiting for his girlfriend who died tragically 600 years ago to come back to life because he traded his status as a mountain god in order to ensure that her soul would one day be reincarnated. a plucky investigative journalist named nam ji ah figures out that hes not human and shenanagins ensue because she looks exactly like his dead girlfriend oooooo whatll happen. the plot beyond that gets really wild and its hard to explain and is easier to just watch. if u enjoy paranormal adventures this one is good. my one big complaint and issue with this is that the immortal mountain spirit meets his original girlfriend when shes a child and she continues to visit him off and on as she grows up which is Hm I Dont Like That! but thankfully the present time romance our female lead meets him when shes about 30 if im remembering right. also warnings for general fantasy violence, references to child abuse, animal death, and abandonment issues
3. extraordinary you
HUGE unreality warning for this. if you have issues with feeling unreal or have paranoia/delusions about not being a real person id avoid this one just because of its premise
ok i know i said tale of the nine tailed was a hard plot to explain but BOY extraordinary you is even HARDER to explain. because its so wild but so good. its about a girl who realizes that she is literally a side character in a comic book, and the story becomes her trying to change the story to save her character from dying but it becomes a lot more than that. the romance in this is literally tooth achingly sweet and the show itself is very pretty, i loved the side characters in this one and the show was engaging and interesting to watch it became really layered and meta. super reccomend this one honestly. my main issues/warnings that i can remember off the top of my head were just one character being the classic controlling boyfriend stereotype, bullying someone specifically for being poor, unreality like i mentioned before, and then at the very end there was this love interest for a side character who got reincarnated from a past piece of writing that they had been in and put in the comic but she was a student and he was the school cook which is weird but thankfully they like barely interact at all and theres no real romance he just like recognizes her and its barely a thing at the end of the show but its still weird
4. mystic pop up bar
big warning for suicide, sexual harrasment (which is framed as being bad and the guy whos harrassing the girl literally gets thrown off a roof)
i havent finished this one yet and thats mainly because im not emotionally ready because this one makes me soooo emotional. if you like found family this is a good one. its about a pop up bar run by a woman whos been tasked with solving the problems of a certain amount of people in order to atone for her crimes in the past before dying, shes able to enter the dreams of people and solve their issues using the information she gets in the dreams. paranormal shenanagins ensue, she acquires a son and a husband and it kills me its so fun and quirky and fun despite handling dark themes and peoples problems. also very sweet the found family murders me
5. kingdom (netflix original)
i literally am not going to be able to watch any other zombie media because kingdom and train to busan are the best pieces of zombie media ive ever seen. warnings for gore and violence and just general horror aspects.
i absolutely love this one its so thrilling and well done, i love the acting and the way that this show looks its absolutely gorgeous. a zombie plague breaks out in joseon period korea where the emperor has died and then was brought back to life by the queen and her father in a ploy to try and keep their family in political power, the crown prince must find answers. a lot more happens and its very dramatic and good i love the characters in this one
cdramas
1. the untamed. if you follow me and you havent watched the untamed im begging you to watch the untamed. literally one of the most beautiful stories ive experienced in my life i am not joking when i say i cried multiple times over it. the main characters are canonically gay in love and have a son together please watch the untamed. handles a lot of dark themes, heres a tw guide
2. the sleuth of the ming dynasty
this is another one i havent finished but its fun so far, very gay, found family, food, and solving murder mysteries during the ming dynasty
3. hikaru no go (also known as qi hun)
havent finished this one, there is some propaganda about hong kong in the first episode but as far as i know thats the only instance of something like that in the show
this ones about the game go and so far its very sweet and fun, local boy awakens a ghost who was a master of the game of go hundreds of years ago and eventually is persuaded to learn how to play go with the aid of the ghost. im really liking this one so far its very cute and i love the characters in it. if youve watched the untamed nie huaisangs actor ji li is in this one!
4. the legend of yunqian
this ones very short and on youtube, all the episodes are about 5 minutes long and its a lesbian time travel fantasy adventure with a happy ending! funny and cute
jdramas
1. cherry magic
please please please watch cherry magic. the premise sounds very much like a weird yaoi kind of thing but trust me on this. trust me. it is so heart warming and sweet and i was so emotional about it and the growth of the main character.
adachi gains the power to read peoples minds on his 30th birthday based off a urban legend that if youre a 30 year old virgin that youll become a wizard. after gaining this power he accidentally finds out that his extremely popular and handsome coworker has a crush on him, and shenanagins ensue along with adachi having blossoming feelings in return. this show was really refreshing in a lot of ways, adachi is a main character who like.. is unsure of himself and insecure in a very kind of realistic way, he closes himself off and is afraid to reach out to people and through the course of the show we see him slowly come out of his shell and realize that hes likeable and lovable and that people want to be around him and its so nice to see. my main complaint about this show is that i dont really like the background couple, but otherwise this is a very sweet and refreshing gay romance that has a happy ending!
some others that i myself havent seen but that ive seen people talk about a lot and that i want to watch eventually:
- the legend of fei (cdrama)
- the wolf (cdrama)
- gaurdian (cdrama, not the kdrama one called goblin)
- healer (kdrama, i did watch some of this one but it was in 2016 and i never finished it so i barely remember any of it but i do remember liking it)
- nobody knows (kdrama)
- its ok to not be ok (kdrama)
sorry this is so long but i hope youll be able to find a drama u enjoy!!

Not related to 19 days so you don't have to answer. but I'm curious to know what are your thoughts on given specifically about akihiko&ugets "relationship" and how they still were having that "relationship" even after the initial break up in highschool. and how it completely ended in chapter27. i think that it was heartbreaking but at the same time it was needed? If that makes sense
Good evening, dear anon-san! (_ _)
I’m so sorry I have kept you waiting this long. I needed to catch up on the manga to answer your question and then my inbox got suddenly filled with 19 Days asks and I thought I would go through a couple of them first. Again, I apologize for the wait. Thank you for your patience! (_ _) Also, I don’t mind questions about other stories than 19 Days at all! This was very refreshing and exciting.
My thoughts on Given and AkiUgetsu
I absolutely loved Given. I have read a lot of yaoi and shounen-ai works but I would have to say Given is the best BL I have come across. (The very close second would probably be Hodokeru Kaibutsu and Hadakeru Kaibutsu by  Ogeretsu Tanaka.) Given’s characters and relationships are complex, the development is well-paced and realistic, the premise is unique, and all of that is wrapped nicely in the blanket theme of music. The anime adaptation was great, too, and Mafuyu’s song ripped my poor heart to shreds.
Perhaps not surprisingly given my track record of the type of characters I tend to fall in love with, Ugetsu immediately became my favorite character. He was dark and a little twisted, insanely talented, beautiful and sensual. To me, Ugetsu was and still is the most complex and interesting character in Given. Also, as soon as it was clear his and Akihiko’s relationship status was very much in the realm of “it’s complicated”, AkiUgetsu became my OTP. I was instantly drawn to them as a couple. They stroked my need for dark, twisted, complicated, and dysfunctional so good.
My thoughts on the AkiUgetsu development
I think Akihiiko and Ugetsu’s relationship was sparked under unfortunate signs and was doomed to fail from the get-go. Mentally it was painful and violent right from the start.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Akihiko’s love was entwined with his envy for Ugetsu. He was drawn to Ugetsu but at the same time resented him. When faced by Ugetsu’s mass of prodigy talent, Akihiko felt defeated and gave up on the violin despite being fairly confident in his music prior to that. He loved Ugetsu and cared about him, but that love made him give up on his dreams and run away from challenges. Gradually, he lost sight of his passion for music. Even if the love was real for both of them, that is not the kind of foundation that could carry a happy relationship.
Ugetsu saw Akihiko slowly but surely lose his motivation and passion, too. I’m sure he just didn’t know what was causing it and he didn’t know how to help him.
Tumblr media
He wanted to find a trigger that would spark a change in Akihiko and return him to how Ugetsu remembered him in the beginning. The thing is, though, I don’t think Ugetsu is a comforting character. He’s not the type who would stand in the sidelines cheering for Akihiko or have a heart-to-heart about his lost motivation. Akihiko’s attitude bothered him and made him sad but to me, it always looked like he didn’t think it was up to him to raise Akihiko’s spirits. No one but Akihiko himself could rekindle his passion and find the drive to improve. He didn’t want to see Akihiko’s half-hearted efforts and was pretty open about it. I’ve always felt like he thought Akihiko was settling for less and on some level, he looked down on Akihiko for playing the drums in a band.
What makes Ugetsu’s position heartbreaking is that I don’t think he saw it was him and their relationship that ultimately snuffed out Akihiko’s passion. Or that it was his talent that had planted that seed from the beginning. At least not in so many words. He came to realize the change and what had probably triggered it at the second live performance. Akihiko had found his new trigger and he had found it somewhere else than with Ugetsu. I don’t think any of that was Ugetsu’s fault, though. It wasn’t his fault that Akihiko gave up. Their relationship was just doomed from the beginning.
I think their first break-up in high school was what made Ugetsu’s such an interesting character to me. It spoke volumes of how complicated of a person he was. I think being in control and keeping a distance around himself is very important to Ugetsu.
Tumblr media
When Akihiko bought the mug and moved in, he breached Ugetsu’s sense of space and control. I’m sure his reaction to Akihiko’s gift surprised both of them, and Ugetsu felt bad for shattering the mug. It looked like his heart was torn in two directions. Later on, he got used to Akihiko’s presence, but I think the mug incident was a sign that Ugetsu needed the feeling of having a tight grip on his own priorities. He loved Akihiko but…
Tumblr media
…his love for Akihiko ultimately distracted his love for music. Creating and playing music was who Ugetsu was as a person. It consumed him as a whole and having that kind of single-track mind was Ugetsu’s lifeline. Anything or anyone disturbing it made him feel uneasy and like he wasn’t in control of his own feelings and freedom anymore. Because he loved Akihiko, he became something Ugetsu started to chase instead of music. Ugetsu chases big emotions in his music but his love for Akihiko was threatening to come in the way of that by occupying his mind with something else.
I don’t know if I’m projecting too much but I resonate with that feeling. When I get into something, it quickly becomes my passion and drives my ambitions. I become obsessed and consumed and feel like other interests threaten my relationship with that special thing. They threaten my sense of “control”, so I push them away. I make a choice to not follow some other paths next to what I’m interested in, and I feel like that was going on with Ugetsu when he decided to break up with Akihiko the first time. That, and he could see Akihiko’s passion for music slowly withering away next to him.
But instead of separating completely, they stayed as “roommates” and fell into this back-and-forth of a relationship that was painful for both of them. Neither of them was able to pull the plug on their relationship. They were unable to let go but hurt each other by staying together.
Tumblr media
They weren’t just roommates even after breaking up. Their relationship had become stale and repetitive - a painful cycle of both their good and bad times going around over and over again. After being apart for a while, they reminisced what they loved about each other but soon after, Ugetsu would find a new man which painfully crashed Akihiko back to earth. It was like breaking up a hundred times instead of just once.
It seemed they also had sex occasionally after breaking up. Another thing that further complicated things.
Tumblr media
I think the sex between them as “roommates” took a rather dark tone. Sex was about power and territory and a way for Akihiko to take his frustration out on something. As Ugetsu kept trying to push Akihiko away by sleeping with other guys, Akihiko had the growing need to assert his status and reclaim Ugetsu via sex. Seeing Ugetsu with others was painful, and the more it hurt, the more he tried to cling onto Ugetsu physically. And Ugetsu let him.
Before long, though, this whole cycle became suffocating for Akihiko. The place he had once cherished and felt like he belonged to had become a pit he couldn’t climb out of. He couldn’t get out and nothing from the outside could get in.
Again, I’m not blaming either of them for that. Or if I did, I would say they’re both guilty. Neither of them was able to take the final step despite seeing how much they were making each other suffer. Overall, AkiUgetsu has beautiful parallels to how Mafuyu was (and still is) struggling with letting go of Yuki’s ghost and moving on with the precious memories still in his heart.
As someone who loves Ugetsu to death, the buildup that eventually led to their final break-up was probably the most heartbreaking part for me. Firstly, there was the time Ugetsu waited for Akihiko to come home.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
How distracted and pained Ugetsu was by Akihiko’s absence spoke volumes of how close to Ugetsu’s heart Akihiko had managed to nestle over the years. Despite their first break-up, he loved Akihiko to death, and to finally come face-to-face with the possibility that Akihiko wouldn’t come back must have felt like dying. Akihiko had seen parts of him that no one had probably ever seen before, and every one of those parts Akihiko had touched must have hurt.
I must admit, watching Ugetsu in so much pain while Akihiko was having fun with Haruki made me…angry. It wasn’t fair. It wasn’t fair that Akihiko is the one needing to be saved and was helped by Haruki while Ugetsu had no one to catch him. It wasn’t fair that Ugetsu had become this suffocating thing for Akihiko despite loving him and someone Akihiko needed to get away from. So yeah, I was angry and bitter.
However, I want to stress that it was only because my heart was aching for Ugetsu. I don’t hate Akihiko for trying to break free from his suffocating pit and finding someone who can restore his breathing. I don’t hate him for wanting to see the fireworks again. I’ve been in his position in real life and know how freeing that time with Haruki must have felt. It was something he needed to do for himself. My frustration stems purely from my own bias for Ugetsu and how I relate to him. I don’t hate Akihiko, Haruki, AkiHaru, or think the author somehow wronged the characters. I think it was rather realistic how it all went down.
What broke my heart for Ugetsu the most was that he was essentially left behind. I always feel for those kinds of characters. Despite waiting for Akihiko to finally leave, Ugetsu still panics when Akihiko tells him he’s going to move out.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ugetsu had tried to leave Akihiko many times and been waiting for him to let go of Ugetsu. But when the time finally came, it was as if Ugetsu’s instincts kicked in and he lashed out. He wanted to stop hurting Akihiko but not being with him hurt even more because it was a sudden surge of pain instead of a steady undertone, so his knee-jerk reaction was to protect himself from that. And it was painful to come to realize that Akihiko was the one walking away. He had found something outside their basement apartment that was giving him the courage to leave Ugetsu. I’m sure it all - the good and bad of their relationship - wrapped together in Ugetsu’s head, and to him, it felt like Akihiko was also walking away from how much he loved Ugetsu. It hurt, and he didn’t want to hear it. It was him about getting mad at the person finally doing something they both knew had to be done.
Before I continue, I want to thank you, dear anon-san. I had been putting off reading the chapter about their final teary goodbyes for the longest time, but your ask finally gave me the push to get it over with. I had always known they were going to break up and I had seen panels of it floating around, but that part had always been an emotionally wrecking hump in Given that I’ve been avoiding. So, thank you for ripping off the bandaid for me.
To my surprise, their goodbyes weren’t as painful as I had dreaded. It hurt my soul but it was painful in a different way than I had expected.
Tumblr media
I could feel Ugetsu’s pain and bitterness in my teeth but also - and perhaps a bit surprisingly - Akihiko’s comfort for him despite what they were going through. He didn’t want Ugetsu to think that while Akihiko was walking away from him, it meant he hadn’t loved Ugetsu from the bottom of his heart. He had. He admired Ugetsu and cared about him, but their relationship was also partly why Akihiko’s own drive for music had been fading out. Akihiko had loved the violin more than anything and poured a lot of effort into it. And even though he was now playing a different instrument, he was never going to forget the violin or let that spark and passion, now rekindled, die out. He was going to keep at the violin but it was going to be to a different tune.
I think that’s comforting. I didn’t have the feeling of left behind for Ugetsu as strong in my heart anymore. Ugetsu’s love wasn’t poison but something that had made Akihiko very happy in the past.
I also think it was very telling how Ugetsu still turned around to reach for Akihiko in the end.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It was that hard for him to let him go. Ugetsu feels big and deep, and his love for Akihiko was no different. I’ve always been grateful for Mafuyu and Ugetsu’s bonding. How Mafuyu had managed to affect Ugetsu was no doubt a big comfort in the turmoil of Akihiko leaving him. New dawns were breaking for both Ugetsu and Mafuyu, and it was scary and painful for both of them.
I was also comforted by how despite the pain AkiUgetsu had gone through, there had always been “music”. It had surrounded them in the enclosed cocoon of the basement apartment and allowed them to be just for each other. Over the years, it had soaked in all their good times, memories, and their love for each other. And after Akihiko left, Ugetsu wished that the music alone would always remain in the house.
Tumblr media
In conclusion, despite how much I ship AkiUgetsu, I would agree that their break-up made sense and was needed in the story. They were both unhappy in the relationship, and I don’t know if there would ever have been a way to make them happy and content with each other. I believe they loved each other and they had a lot of happy times, but they were kind of heading towards a dead-end from the beginning. If Akihiko’s reaction to Ugetsu’s talent had been different or if they had found a solution by communication about their problems, they could have perhaps stayed together. But I don’t know if any of those changes in characters would have been possible while they were still around each other.
And yet, I ship them. I ship them to hell and back. They are very much my jam. I love Ugetsu’s sensual darkness and him being a little mischievous and twisted. I love how big his emotions are and the contrast they create with his seemingly distant and hard-to-approach demeanor. I would kill human people for his genuine smile. I love Akihiko’s big build and rough appearances. I love his possessiveness and strength. I love how Ugetsu gets under his skin sometimes. I love how he can be both gentle and forceful with Ugetsu. I love how he’s made Ugetsu feel like he can trust Akihiko. I love the angst of them loving each but also kind of bringing out the worst in each other. I love them creating their own little world in that basement where it’s only them and music.
I just love them. Also, I can’t wait for the movie to come out so I can have my AkiUgetsu heart ripped out of my chest in animation.
Thank you for your question, dear anon-san! (_ _) I hope it was worth the wait.

Spencer x Ghost?
Spencer x Ghost
(AAAAA- it has been months since you sent this to me, and all i can say is im so sorry) Side note I have my friend @lethalbreadkills helping me with this one!
For reference: Maddie (maddiefriendlovesbilly) is green, Jimmy (lethalbreadkills) is red (((its 4:30 at the time i have joined this so im dead braincell wise sorry yall))) and Orange is stuff we decided together :3
Also this is so very chaotic im so sorry for this anon but this has been in my fuckin drafts for SO LONG and this is the only way its getting finished (its now 5 am uwu) im so sorry for all the shitposting i do its a mess. I shouldnt have been allowed here. (we finished at about 5:30 am its hell <3)
Sphost? Ghencer?? Sphoster??? I adore and despise them all equally.
We have decided that it should be BeanieGhost
Anyway I think this ship is really cute
They’re both so neurotic I can only imagine the chaos that would ensue
One of them starts a rant on some topic and the other joins the hell in
I’m an advocate of LETTING SPENCER INFO DUMP BECAUSE HE DESERVES IT OKAY
And Ghost would let this dream come true???
I would die for both of them and if Spencer told me I had to die I wouldn’t even complain, no questions I’d just be like “Aight.” I trust him that much.
(Not sure I trust Ghost’s judgment enough to do that unquestioningly; sorry Ghost)
Back on topic
I can’t imagine these guys on anything that comes close to society’s definition of a date
It’d be more like “hey you wanna come on this hunt with us?” “maybe, depends if there’ll be snacks” or like chilling in Spence’s room binging the entire star trek: original series in one sitting or “oops sorry about that level 11 entity that attached to my soul and is now wreaking havoc in your house, wanna make out later to make up for it?” “Fine but you also have to play three rounds of Call of Duty with me afterward”
They wouldn’t be romantic often but like highkey? I can see them throwing themselves into the line of fire for each other with a recklessness only they could survive
We can’t forget that Spencer is a more than 60,000-year-old overpowered demon/god/entity/thing, which, yes, could throw a slight wrench in this ship for multiple reasons, but I choose to make angst out of it instead.
Side note: Ghost is a chronic conspiracy theorist (and you can’t tell me otherwise) and every once in awhile Spencer will offhandedly say something like “Y’know I helped the Egyptians build the pyramids” and Ghost just goes fucking feral.
Look, I’m not saying Spencer IS touch-starved and most likely has issues creating and developing relationships and therefore avoids interpersonal connection, especially offline, but I AM saying he is prime material for it. (thats a lie thats exactly what shes saying don’t believe it) (I’m projecting okay dont judge me) (loser imagine projecting)
Imagine with me for a second: Why does Spencer willingly stay with a family who locks him in their basement with only minor complaining? He’s a near all-powerful entity just released into the world for Spence’s-sake - If he wanted to, there’s no telling what havoc he could wreak! So why doesn’t he? Why would someone so powerful, so terrifying, so dangerous that a group of people decided to seal him away forever stay with the first family he finds in sub-par conditions for years - especially someone who’s seen to be as high-maintenance as Spencer? Let me hit you with a theory: He’s chasing the feelings of validation, safety, and love - no matter how rarely it’s shown - that a family can provide. Being socially isolated for even a few years can do a number to a person’s psyche (I should know, I’m projecting onto this character right now), let alone thousands.
Now maybe Ghost can’t match thousands of years in isolation, but damn if he doesn’t have a few years of crippling loneliness on his record too.
I can see the two of them learning how to be vulnerable around others together, emotionally and physically; learning how to open up and how to talk through issues; and some third point, because points are better in threes.
(May I suggest that these losers are both trans but thats just me adding in my own projection lmao)
(You absolutely may)
Imagine the conversation thats just “so i have a murderer in my head thats an ass” “rip to u ig sounds like a you problem :///”
imo spence has trouble expressing emotions other than like,,, annoyance and haughtiness, its like sort of his go-to defence, so showing Ghost his emotions is a big step for him
I hear you, and i say yes good. (found this one headcanon that i kinda live by where he was uh, either autistic or adhd i dont remember but theres that too) OH yeah that would be at thing huh. Spencer: *is emotionally vulnerable @ ghost* ghost: oh shit im trusted??? Oh fuck uh.
Yeah so like…. Ghost and spence showing emotion at eachother is kind of :flushed: ghost be like: whats an emotion. Imagine having emotions fuciiing loser hhaha,,,, *laughs nervously*
Ghost is also very emotionally distant with most people so it would probably be like “what??? The fuck?? Emotions?????? You have those???”
Ghost and Spencer be like *gay*
So another idea is that maybe Spencer realizes Ghost doesnt play any games [like the uncultured SWINE he is] and decides he must [remedy] this and so he introduces him to like, nintendo first. (some bitches thought that said nintendo fortnite. Im bitches) and theyre playing like, mario kart or smash or smth and Ghost gets really [fuckin into it]
Ghost and spencer: *literally in eachothers laps playing fucking wii tennis*
Spooker: what are the- *TOAST FUCKING SLAPS A HAND ACROSS HIS MOUTH* shut up you dont wanna know what happens when its mentsonssbfdjfsd (sorry i had a stroke uwuwuwuw)
(Theyre in denial we don’t judge in this house)
They will not hesitate to play dirty either, they will straight up push each other over and vaguely flirt
Ghost is losing and straight up fucking goes “ur hot” and spencer actually dies and boom ghost is the winner. sparkle emoji Magic sparkle emoji
“I am Not a HomoSexual:™:” “Yeah, sure you aren’t” “Screw off”
Pet-names-ish: Asshole, Gaymer-Boy, casual insults, Mr. Spirit Bitch, Mistake, Loves Ghosts More Than His Boyfriend What A Fucking Loser aka Gay-ass
Pros:
They both open up a lot most likely. Gain someone to trust since they’ve sort of been through the same things (though on much different scales)
I can see soft hours of hanging in each other’s bedrooms
Spencer is a tsundere you cant tell me otherwise youre just a coward if you disagree
So is Ghost so this can only go well
Every time Ghost has to solve a case at the Acachallas Spence is just peaking out from his basement like “the fuck is this?? Hot Man??????”
Enemies to lovers 500k (Gets Hot and Steamy :flushed: NOT CLICKBAIT!!!!11!!!!! 18+!!!!!!! GAY LOVE StORY!!!!!!) Lemonz!!! Made from teh Sexiest of Wattpaders UWUWUWU YAOI Boys Love don’t like don’t read!! (this is so fucking stupid jkfnd) I hate this with a passion Q^Q. All my years of being a basic watpad fanboy have helped me to the moment i bring maddie to tears
The steam is just like,,,,, holding hands and being angy all the fuckin time the steam is literal because their anger translates into actual steam
Cons:
Their angst has nowhere to go and it just sits between them like two raccoons at a dumpster-style mexican standoff
They really start off hating each other huh. Like, I know this can still lead to healthy relationships but neither of them are very good at healthy relationships with people he hasn’t known for his Whole Life so that’s an Oh No.
They totally feed off of each other’s stupidity (but this could be seen as a pro too so take that as you will) as well as anger - im talking one-upping each other kinda shit
Its ridiculous honestly how intense it gets, like they straight up need intervention sometimes because they dont realize they can just STOP
Conclusions:
I think this would be a relationship that would that a lot of time and hard work to make work, but i think in the end it would be really super cute!! Like it would make no fuckin sense to anyone else but somehow they’d understand each other and help each other through their similar issues. Also theyre both big nerds in different ways and i think they’d have just ranting sessions back and forth over and over and it would be soft!!!!! So yeah, i think it would work, at least, i want it to :D
So. Maybe?? I feel like it could, but they’d need to work pretty hard to make it healthy and not constant fighting. Could be stupid amounts of cute and wholesome but also could be stupid amounts of oh no and pain, depending on how the two act. If they learned how to get along with each other and work past their differences it could be super cute and soft. Just a very, er, bumpy beginning. And middle. And end. (this makes me very nervous,,,,why did you mention an end) (wouldnt you like to know weather boy) (TvT) UFDUNS bumpy but soft . Agreeing with the loser gay, want this to work it’d be interesting :3

Akatsuki no Yona chp 181-192
found this commentary i never formally saved
Wow, so much new information in just 12 chapters.
I hadn't continued reading since chapter 180
But man, the things at play here. Soo-won's illness makes so much sense why he's taking such drastic measures and moving quickly. He doesn't have the luxury of time. He has no idea how much longer he will last. Or maybe he does have an idea and it's not much.
I hate that Hak and Yona haven't gotten to have a real conversation about themselves since Yona said she was jealous of the wind tribe girl. I hate the whole "circumstances forcing them to remain apart" but not hating it like it's bad writing or anything. It's excellent writing and storytelling I just can't effing stand it. I need them to talk again. The whole Soo-won thing will make Yona choose to avoid Hak. But I'm glad that Zeno already knew about the illness, so the pressure isn't entirely on Yona (she just doesn't know that. I hope she gets to learn it)
Getting to see how Soo-won's parents met, I feel like we're getting close. One day we'll see the flashback of how Soo-won's father really died, if he was indeed killed by Il. Based on Soo-won's dream I think it might be true since Il spoke the words "so you've come" as if he was always expecting Soo-won to kill him one day. But even if it's true we need to know why, especially since he was so anti-weapon.
And man, something about Soo-won's reaction to Hak's choices reads almost like longing. Not that I think this is what's going on or anything, but it struck me that it would be really interesting if our main three characters were at one point a true love triangle. Yona loved Soo-won who loved Hak who loved Yona. I distinctly remember a flashback scene between Hak and Soo-won where Soo-won basically said he wanted Hak, and Hak told him to become king by marrying Yona and he'd have him. I know it was in relation to as working, serving, fighting, but from Soo-won's reactions of seeing Hak in the castle, my mind went a different way. Maybe my assumptions are faulty from reading waaaay too much yaoi and BL but from a storytelling perspective it felt like Soo-won was longing for Hak but holding himself back. Like "what are you doing, you're not supposed to be here while I'm doing important things." as if there's a certain facade he must maintain as king that he knows will drop when he's around Hak.
And Soo-won babbling in a sick haze to Yona about Hak just reinforces it that he's talking about him fondly as if none of the events of the manga have occurred.
Also, the conversation where Soo-won says that he doesn't need an heir and the next king doesn't need to be related to him and could be of any status. His men then ask him if he has someone specific in mind, and Soo-won looks thoughtful. the NEXT PAGE cuts to Hak and what he's doing. If this was a movie that exact moment would be foreshadowing of Soo-won intending to give the throne to Hak. A man not related to him and of lower status because neither matters in his mind. And that brings all kinds of nostalgia to me if that was intentional. I hope it was intentional. This mangaka, she plants many seeds early on and then develops them. I mean, Soo-won has said things about not having enough time or "there's something important I must do" since he first encountered Yona in Awa and she tried to take his sword. 100+ chapters later we find out he has a fatal disease.
I think the illness is what makes Soo-won so unpredictable to his enemies. They don't expect swift retaliation. They expect him to be like most other people and take lots of time and planning, not make instant decisions in the blink of an eye and react with the tenacity to outmaneuver them despite the extensive planning they did to try to beat him or surprise him.
Also, for the first time it feels like this story's "final boss" won't necessarily be Soo-won. For some reason it feels like Soo-won will become a piece that Yona can use to some ultimate goal. I don't know what that goal might be or how they'd come to those circumstances but that feels like a distinct possibility as we get more glimpses of Soo-won with Hak or Yona around.
There's also such a potential for parallel here. That because of Soo-won's assassination, Yona will know how Soo-won felt when his dad was killed.
I'm also not forgetting that Yona's now doubting the circumstances under which her mother was killed. She's becoming more and more aware of the political climate of manipulating information and controlling appearances to imply things without stating them outright.
two things from ik-soo's foretelling are still unclear. The sword and the shield for Yona. Like of course it's assumed Hak is one of them, but the way I remember it being described is that they would appear. Unless I'm remembering wrong and it was "make themselves known"

I'm not against SessRin as the ship itself, rather I'm against the idea of it being canon. I wouldn't even care if InuYasha was of a more mature genre. Yes, the trope is very popular even in hentai, yaoi and yuri. However, all of these genres are explicitly for adults - the type of audience that are well capable of seperating between fiction and real life, knowing what's wrong and right. Yasahime's still cleary targeted at a younger audience - kids that can still be easily affected by fiction.
Hey, nonnie! I really appreciate the ask. Apologies for the slight delay. 😊
I read what you had to say, and I think you bring up a very valid point that I don't see being discussed enough quite honestly.
Because you're right, Inuyasha is geared towards a younger audience. That explains why it was the very first anime for many of us growing up.
Ironically enough, some of you who like me stayed up late to catch it on TV remember that Inuyasha came out on a network called "Adult Swim" of all things. haha (I gather that had more to do with the occasional foul language than anything else.) Cartoon Network- what Adult Swim is known as during the daytime- shows children's programs and Inuyasha wouldn't have been exactly appropriate on there either.
Now let's take a quick look at the other anime shows I remember that would come out on the line-up along with Inuyasha. Cowboy Bepop and Ghost in the Shell are the first two that come to memory. If you aren't familiar with those, readers, I encourage you to look them up and see how they're described in comparison to Inuyasha. They both tackle some pretty dark and heavy adult themes. Inuyasha, on the other hand, is based off a shonen manga aimed at young teens, boys specifically.
I'm not personally familiar with the yaoi and yuri genres myself, but from what I do know, a lot of their stories center around sexual romance and homoeroticism. Inuyasha may include some romance, but by no means does the author insert explicitly sexual elements into her story. Fans who are mature to handle that kind of content can if they so choose to-- bring on the fan fiction and fan art! But can the series itself be justified in doing so? Well, I hope not since the average Inuyasha viewer is only just a teenager.
You're correct, fiction is capable of influencing and shaping how some kids learn to view and make sense of certain events. I'm going to give you a real life example here. Keep in mind, readers, that this is an extreme case that obviously wouldn't apply to everyone or every situation. The purpose of recounting this tale is to demonstrate that young minds are more vulnerable to the influences around them, be them real or imagined.
Years ago there used to be this internet urban legend called "The Slender Man." In 2014, these two 12-year old girls (so roughly the same age many of us started watching Inuyasha) became obsessed with this fictional character and wanted to prove to everyone he existed. In order to do that, they made up their minds to kill one of their classmates to please him. They ended up stabbing the victim numerous times, but she somehow miraculously survived. The two girls who were found guilty of this crime ended up being admitted into mental health institutions. Please feel free to read up more on this yourself. It sounds creepy, I know, but how the community came together to support the victim and her recovery was a touching ending to such a horrific story.
Like I already mentioned, this was an extreme case that almost resulted in murder. Death, however, isn't the only bad outcome that can occur. Child abuse in all its complex forms is a serious outcome, too. It should go without saying that no child watching Inuyasha should accept the idea of a young girl (like themselves but maybe younger) being pursued later once she's "old enough" by the same male authority figure who was her main protector during their travels. You could tell Rin felt legitimately safe and happy for the first time in a long time while in his company. I also like to wonder if that's because Sesshomaru reminded her of someone she knew before her family was killed. But who really knows? After all, kids are very trusting by nature. Let's be honest, the happy-go-lucky Rin would've followed just about anyone who saved her! It just happened to be Sesshomaru, which of course I'm grateful for. So tell me again, why does this protector-ward dynamic they've got going on need to turn romantic?
Seriously, why are viewers expecting a romance to happen anyway? It's not like we have been given any solid indication to suggest that these two are destined for it. Allow me to explain why I believe that is. Sessrin fans anticipate a romance in their future despite the lack of foreshadowing, because this trope IS popular. (But only in series geared towards adults- like you said, nonnie.) In other words, it's been so engrained in our minds that it's a completely normal direction we should come to expect a relationship between an older man and a young girl/woman to take. So even though it hasn't been hinted at much if at all, it's apparently bound to happen regardless.
A young woman who decides to be with an older man isn't the issue here, BUT there's a fine line and at times the stories we tell will tread that line and test its boundaries. Case in point: shipping Sesshomaru with "Adult Rin" although we've only met and gotten to know her as a young girl up until now. In many instances, adult!Rin supposedly only has to mean she's old enough to bear children. If it was the norm for a girl to have kids at 15 or 16 in Feudal Japan, then that must mean we should not only tolerate it but celebrate it too, right?
Yes, fiction is a creative outlet to explore and push the boundaries from time to time, but we must be careful of what messages we're sending and who the target audience is. Would it really be wise to portray in a positive light a teenage girl getting pregnant with one of the people who helped raised her's babies on a show for teens? That's not my idea of a wholesome family lesson I'd ever want to teach my kids or have them learn elsewhere.
What we're essentially doing is telling the young Inuyasha viewers that it's totally normal to sexualize and romanticize a young girl's future without her say. That it's okay to speak for her and decide that's what her character would want even if we haven't met this adult version of her yet. What about Rin's hopes and dreams? How about we wait to see how she is as a grown-up first before we come to such big conclusions. Wouldn't you say you're jumping the gun a bit, shippers?
Nobody is saying you can't picture it, alright, but to claim it's the only obvious progression- because evidently there must be one for some reason?- of the relationship Rin's formed with Sesshomaru is absolutely absurd. If that's the case, then basically all the other "who's Sesshomaru's baby mama" theories are just as plausible as yours if not more so.
Also, guys, we really ought to stop stating that Sesshomaru will never have the capacity to care for another human being besides Rin like it's a fact. I'm aware that to many the appeal of this ship is that she was the first one to break through that icy exterior of his, so that must translate to a love that transcends and what not. If she wasn't a child he guarded like his own first and foremost, then this ship could have potential. That's not the case though, so moving right along!
Right, so who says his affection towards humans has to stop at Rin? Why can't the mom- if there is a mom- be some new character? That's really not reaching- yes, even for Sesshomaru. Knowing Rin, she's probably the one who introduced them! Plus, it's not like we don't have other canon sources that already show us Sesshomaru coming to the aid of humans. He has saved and protected Kagome on a few occasions that we know of so far, as well as Kohaku. And no, he didn't just protect him because Rin asked him to. Perhaps that was why he did at first, but please give Sesshomaru credit where credit is due. He is not the cold heartless demon we once believed him to be. How else do you think he is capable of activating Tenseiga's powers? Yeah, no, Sesshomaru grew to care for that kid, and Kokahu wouldn't have stuck around him for as long as he did if he didn't believe Sesshomaru didn't have his best interests at heart. Well, in Sesshomaru's own special little way that is. 😆
I got a little sidetracked- my bad! I suppose it's all relevant when you think about it. Alrighty, nonnie, I hope I adressed your ask the way you wanted. Please feel free to drop by again! 🖖
Reminder: Do not plan to engage in discourse on this blog if you are going to be disrespectful. The views I'm expressing aren't "an attack," so there's no need to get defensive and aggressive. I've even had a few Sessrin shippers themselves tell me I make valid points and that I do it in an upright manner. So if you don't believe me, then maybe you'll believe them. Thank you!
