(idk if this happens in real life BUT) i think mello and matt would find random food in the wammy canteen like plain crisps or desserts or cereals or bread, stuff that's not too overwhelming for near. cuz mello is afraid of being nice or something he would always be so dramatic about it he'd be like "someone stepped on my foot while i was getting your coco pops, you owe me your life now". 2.5- near would get those small pieces of side bread and a jacket potato for lunch & which was probably his autism-safe-food for 99% of the time in wammy's house, but sometimes he'd get something extremely cursed like plain pasta and cheese. and that's how he cheated the wammy's house nutritional system. 3- punishments in wammy's house would vary from detention to cleaning dishes or scraping litter. they would also have to do room service, for example near probably corrected a teacher's method and had to clean out mello's room. matt and mello would take advantage of lunch helper duties to sneak out chocolate, chips and other stuff. if they felt like it they'd pick up some stuff for near as well. those are the only ones i can remember off the top of my head, but i will make a part two eventually about the successor program and how each wammy boy got into it, the benefits and how long it lasts, thank you so much for reading this much if you got here!

Honestly, Step 2 Qiu would be the perfect fit for a friend group with Jeremy and Pran. They all hate the world but are great at tolerating each other. Jeremy was persistent in being Pran's friend, so was Qiu. Now they're all stuck going to the same boarding school, hating everyone else.

Qiu still flirts with being popular, however, since unfortunately their aloofness sadly makes cool in the eyes of a good chunk of the student body. And to Everett who really went from Pran to Qiu, an absolute legend. But Qiu stands by their homies. If you beef with Pran and Jeremy, you're inherently beefing with Qiu. So Everett can't catch a break if Qiu is in the Misanthropic Trio. The Populars cannot get this star of the halls even if they were to beg.

But compared to Pran who can't tolerate Shiloh at all, I think Qiu would be right there with Jeremy in being able to tolerate him but still not considering Shiloh a friend or someone they'd be interested in knowing.

As for Nate, he's Tamarack's childhood friend no matter who develops a romantic interest in her. If it's someone other than himself, he's twice as much of a jerk to them than usual. Tam has no 7 evil exes you have to defeat to date her, she just has her asshole childhood friend you have to get through. And if it's Nate himself crushing on Tam, he has to defeat... himself.

Let's start off on a positive which is that I love John-Michael Cassidy with my whole heart he's just a cowboy and he's great 🤠. 10/10 no one is doing it like him. I also really like Sandra but I do not fucking trust her. She's got a soothing an authoritative voice, milf energy for days, and so many secrets I'm sure of it. Why must Tot make me distrust a milf? Truly unfair. Also putting Tessa basically on public trial to make an example of her? Absolutely bullshit and even more reason not to trust Sandra idk what she's hiding but she IS

Fuck Austin. All my homies hate Austin. Where did he even come from? He's talking about how Tessa isn't part of the neighborhood but mate I have never heard of you before in my life you truly showed up just to be an antagonist and I will commit acts of cartoon violence. Especially for the slut shaming of Tessa and Nates friendship like yes I am a Tessa has 2 hands truther but that doesn't mean she's fucking these people! I love that Nate came to Tessa's defense and I love that John-Michael Cassidy got to punch Austin in the face.

Moving on in the episode I personally am never going to forgive Tot for Nate and Tessa's argument because that shit HURT TOT! I know I said you could do whatever you want forever but OUCH MAN WHY DID YOU DO THAT. Nate saying "You promised" before leaving BROKE ME. Mike LeBeau is delivering 10/10 voice acting as he always does but also Mike please my heart can't take it. Following that up with Tessa and Anisha talking and Anisha trying to her Tessa to understand why and how she fucked up I'm still screaming about it. Just. The whole vibe of it is Tessa thinking she's expendable and Nate and Anisha trying to prove to her she's not through caring for her in different ways and TESSA HAS TWO HANDS GODDAMMIT Tot I'm gnawing on these characters I love them so much

A fun fact for anyone who hasn't listened to Soul Operator yet: you can get through everything that's currently out in roughly 2 hours. We did a group listen in the The Grotto discord and it wasn't all that long so if you're looking for something short and amazing to sink your teeth into then you gotta check out Soul Operator it's so fucking good

I'm not just annoying about it because I promised Tot I would be, it truly is a phenomenal show and I would be annoying about it with or without promises PLEASE listen to Soul Operator its good for you

i'd been idly following the devs the past season, mostly through tumblr and the occasional game but not really any sustained attention - however i watched a couple games this season already, including last night's, and the vibe seems almost electric with the team. like the energy is so high and they just do not quit. i was wondering what you (or devs fans generally) might attribute to this change? if there has been one? it's very likely i just didn't watch enough games last year to really get a feel for the devs game play and as a cohesive team on ice, but something just feels different this year. am i a delusional bandwagoner or did the devs really switch things up this year? (also vitek vaněček, beloved...he was insane last night, has he been that solid all year?)

i think there’s a lot of things that go into it, but it really feels like one of them is that they’re just *tired* of being a bad team. they’re tired of losing and of falling apart and they’re all kind of in that mentality now, you know? last season i think we saw glimpses of this but nico was coming back from almost a full year of no play, a lot of our vets were gone, and our physicality (name nate and miles) were missing for part or all of the season.

also like. our defense really has shifted in the last two years with the additions of dougie, siegs, and marino. that makes a really big difference, because i think our shots against right now are like. 24.6? and it’s been hovering closer to 21/22. goaltending’s been an issue for years but if you’re goalie can manage an .850 or higher with 21 shots against, that’s 2 goals and we have the offense power and control to do that (i think we’ve hit 37 sog in all but three games this season so far?) and a lot of this is just our team getting older! i think all but 3 of our current guys were drafted 2017 or later and jesper and miles are 2016 and 2014 respectively. they made a lot of dumb mistakes because they were young and inexperienced and there was no consistency for them to fall back on

also our pp1 is like, what? nico jesper jack dougie and nate? nico and jack have barely been able to play together (jack’s rookie season cut short, nico injured basically all of his sophomore season, and then jack was out essentially the first two months) so a lot of the improvement on the power play is just them finding their chemistry (also recchi leaving fuck that dude all my homies hate recchi)

vitek 💖💖💖 absolutely love that dude he was INSANE last night!! i splurged on a nice ticket for myself and was basically right behind him and it truly felt like something magic to watch. he had a bit of a rough start (home opener against detroit…..rough night tbh!) but he’s been a really really great addition this season. i’m so fond of him already

and all this is to say: genuinely idk why we’re doing this well. i think i hoped and expected us to be middle of the league flighting for a wild card spot this season, and idk if we’ll keep up what we’ve been doing but there’s been such a shift in play and energy and attitude and it’s so so so exciting to watch

What's your opinion on Entrapta and Entrapdak ? I personally think she deserves better tbh 😔

i don't think entrapdak works. but i'll get into that in a minute.

as for entrapta, she definitely deserved better. more so than just in writing in general, but as well just how she was treated as an autistic individual.

for starters, i want to comment on her design. she does not look like the age she's apparently supposed to be ( according to nate, entrapta is in her late 20s, early 30s ). a lot of people who have discovered this have commented something to the extent of:

"she's 30?! i thought she was 16-18!"

now, if i didn't know her age or personality, i'd assume she was 19-20. but considering that i do know her personality, i'm not surprised that people thought she was younger. her big pigtails, being short, and the top side of her overalls being out of place all are designed in a way that makes her look younger.

the reason why this is an issue is because, with her design and personality, this is infantilizing. especially because every other adult character looks their age, or at least has obvious implications of looking older ( such as wrinkles under their eyes, wearing makeup, etc. ). entrapta does not.

throughout the entire show, entrapta is extremely oblivious, forgetful, honestly rather careless, and generally is treated more like a robotic nuisance rather than a human being that deserves support and care.

she's practically ostracized by the other princesses, is pulled by them, is leashed by them, talked down to by them, etc. she is not actually treated as someone who is wanted, but rather only someone who might be needed.

this video actually discusses low empathy, how to write it correctly, and how SPOP did a complete disservice to entrapta and the autistic community by their piss-poor portrayal of low empathy and autistic people in general:

as for entrapdak...

i personally feel like nate made entrapta 30-smth yrs old, so entrapdak would be less weird. i could talk about how hordak is essentially a bum instead of a Big Bad, like he's supposed to be, but that's for another day.

the primary issue i have with entrapdak is that it paints entrapta in a really bad light, more than people might think.

many people seem to label entrapta as morally grey/chaotic neutral ( i'm p sure you can look up the spop wiki and see that ), but i strongly disagree with this label, due to how it is written and how it further pushes a bigoted idea of autistic people.

and no, entrapta being written by an autistic person ( tbh, i highly doubt that ) does not mean she's suddenly even decent autistic rep.

entrapta is perceived as "morally grey" purely because of her low empathy. they use it to demonize and infantilize her, instead of respecting it as a part of her identity.

having low empathy does not make anyone a bad person, or even a morally grey person. donnie, from ROTTMNT, has low empathy, but you can tell he deeply loves his family and tries his best to keep people safe.

entrapta's low empathy is represented as her not caring about the lives at stake, only caring about people unless it involves technology, or only doing things because of technology, and is generally either treated like a lost child or like she's a demon.

SPOP's portrayal of autism and low empathy in quite a few autistic people is harmful and gives the same message that neurodivergent in general have been given for years:

"something is wrong with you."

her being involved with hordak, a literal imperialist, someone who does not care for anyone ( except for entrapta, i guess? ), and is willing to sacrifice anything and anyone for the sake of his goals, in any other way but in an antagonistic dynamic is, at best, offensive and stereotypical, and at worst, dangerous.

if you are not autistic, and you want to write autistic people, you need to do it with respect. genuine respect.

you cannot treat autistic people as if they don't know what they're doing.

you cannot treat autistic people as if they don't care about anyone but themselves.

you cannot treat autistic people as if something is wrong with them.

you cannot treat autistic people as if they have to change to be accepted by anybody.

we are not your props for representation. we are people.

all in all, if you want to write autistic characters, do not do what the SPOP writers did. just don't.
