I saw @regressionworldz make art for this (go check it out!!) and as an indie game fan myself, i thought it was so cute I had to make headcanons.

If you came to the factory regressed, the characters would definitely be less hostile, if not the feature deactivating completely after noticing setting is different. (they'd stay non-hostile knowing you're a regressor)

huggy wuggy always makes sure to hold your hand, his long lanky arms can stretch with you where ever you decide to pull him next.

huggy was quite eager to introduce you to kissy missy, her warmer but vibrant colors captivated you as she greeted your tiny self and picked you up and spun you around, delight to meet a new kid.

missy adores you and has a habit of calling you 'love/lovey/lovely' in a platonic sense! huggy likes calling you 'kiddo' or 'bug' and even 'little one'

there's a breakroom/kitchen were its stocked with snacks and drinks. how they never go spoiled is part of the magic <3

pj pug-a-pillar (my fav<3) loves skittering around with you on his back! when he's walking, you bump from side to side and he loves hearing your delighted giggles. he's v careful u don't fall off, lest he catch a glare from huggy

pj also has some song like you're bouncing on his back, something like. 'bumpity bump bump, bumpity bump bump, bumping back and forth.' with a silly tune behind it.

mommy long legs likes humming to you. you guys definitely have a little hum/whistle as like echolocation for when you get separated. (she gets distracted telling stories at you wanted the factory)

isn't mommy longlegs like a slinky? she doesn't mind the nickname! whatever you wanna call her, she'll accept

And/or the mental torture??1,1&÷>+> the like tests in chapter 2 being for the orphans so they can go fight/flight and form a connection to the toy they are asaigned WHATTTTT (wack a wuggy or something below)

The orphans AND the coworkers who didnt know (IM SO SAD) especially the footage found about someone wanting to adopt a kid from the inner orphanage (because that was like, a thing for the workers to do) just to get paperwork that "they are in "testing"" LIKE NOOOOAAAOOO. Theres litterally footage of the kids getting picked off with everyone celebrating "who is leaving today?" WHYYYYE (scene where the player goes into the giant sphere where they had a fake town)

and then again what about the kids/workers who DID KNOW. (Catnap,, THEO) like theo being taken away for trying to escape the orphanage, and then being turned into the cat thang (AND THEN THE CO. MAKING HIM INTO A MARKATEBLE PLUSHIE AND SHOW HAGHSHA)

its so crazy how the prototype teied to help him out when he was a kid, and in return once tunred into some giant gas tank to make the orphans sleep, he became the prototypes "worshipper" (he is standing on two legs worshipping bodies that supposed to look like the prototype)

AND THE PLAYER OMG me and my sister had theories about the player being like a worker or a kid from there and it was kinda confirmed to maybe be BOTH??? INSANE!!! hoe did they escape the happy hour?? Why did they come back?? Who wrote the letter "wer'e still here" and WHO do they think is still there LIKE CMON!!!

Theres so much more like how my sister is in love with Mrs.Delight like where did she and the teachers even come from, (I ALSO LOVE HER shes so CRAZY), the kid body left in a duffel bag left at LUDWIGS the OWNER AGHH, DOG DAY!! being left alive and then litterally being EATEN ALIVE??? and then the prototype killing catnap, catnap giving up his body??? (im gonna be so fr i thought the prototype was offering his hand not gonna STAB HIM) hugfy wuggy confirmed dead, AND WHAT HAPPENED TO KISSY MISSY!!!!?

kissy’s favorite memory in your relationship was the first Valentine’s day you shared together, she learned about the holiday in January and spent a long time preparing for the day, getting you gifts and such. little did she know you were doing the exact same thing! so when the time came, you two absolutely drowned each other in love and gifts!

kissy does love to feel protected by you, however she’s naturally more of a protector (ya know, considering)

kissy doesn’t mean to be, but she’s kind of a “blanket hog” if you let her sleep in the bed. she’s much larger than you, sure, but she likes the feeling of being wrapped up like a burrito and unintentionally steals the blanket from you in her sleep.

its 6am but i cant get myself to settle down enough to sleep bc i slept most of the day yesterday. im bored and feel so wonky so its son time (ft the hubby wubby <3) weeww im tired

how shelldon is with donnie vs how he is with me has always been very funny to me, especially since he's still going through his rebellious phase rn. with donnie hes all "FUCK U OLD MAN IM BALLIN" and then with me hes gone right back into baby mode like "mama? mama give me huggy and kissy? 🥺 cuddles from mommy pls??"

shelldon is honestly rather pet-like on occasion. he'll rest on my lap and if i try to get up or move him he screams. he wriggles his way in between me and donnie if we're in bed and he wants snuggles and he refuses to move, unless of course one of us gets up in which he immediately steals that spot to have more room for himself. enjoys playing fetch. terrorizes small critters and bugs by chasing them around. stares at us so intently whenever we eat even though he literally cant even eat in the first place, why do u want people food so bad

his first time being rebuilt, he didnt really understand a lot of things, and one of the main ones for him was the idea of object permanence. like, once something was put away somewhere it was just GONE to him. he understood it later on, but for a while he just did not get it. so whenever i would leave to go back home or exit the room he was like. "where did she go. wh. WHERE DID SHE-"

when he finally got that i wasnt just disappearing off the face of the earth whenever i was out of sight, he ended up switching to another very pet-like habit for a while. he'd just stare at the door where id left like "do u rlly think shes coming back this time??" "yes shelldon, she'll come back" and then tackle me the instant i return. nowadays hes Too Cool for that but he still is very happy to see me whenever i come back to the lair

usually neither me nor shelldon go out into the city with the guys-- shelldon really only goes if donnie needs his help for a mission-- so we spent a lot of time in the lair together. he likes to tell me about things i missed while i was at home for the week, and shows me cool tricks he's learned how to do. we also watch youtube videos or tv a lot of the time, curled up in bed (well, IM curled up, shelldon doesnt really have,,,, yknow limbs to be able to do that with. he just kind of sits there on top of a bunch of pillows so hes at the same level i am). a lot of the time donnie will come home to see me and shelldon just lazing about. if hes back from a particularly tiring mission, he likes to join our little snuggle pile and sleep for a while. and if we're out in the living room, theres like a 50% chance the rest of the family will join us for cuddles and sleepy times.

theres a charger in both the lab and our room for shelldon. he doesnt really NEED two charging stations, but, we like him to have the option to be able to sleep with us if he wants to. he gets very embarrassed about it sometimes, but he rlly does like being able to stay with us for bedtime.

yk, I think something that really scares me in this horror stuff is the body dysmorphia, and just being trapped. im mainly talking about poppy playtime, tadc, and Amanda the adventurer.

in poppy playtime, human KIDS were forced into a toy body against their will and having to deal with that. it's unknown if they remember their life before the transfer, but in chapter one, in the Huggy vent chase, there is writing on the wall and at one point you can see the phrase "this isn't my body!" Just the horrors of being taken deep underground and undergoing a traumatizing process, coming out scarred and fucked up. And you're stuck like that. Catnap's throat I believe is all fucked up because he can't talk or breathe properly. And Huggy and Kissy are super unstable due to the lack of bones in their arms and legs.

then tadc is horrible in a whole different way. You wake up in a whole new non-human and unrealistic body, and ur stuck in a world that defies everything you were used to. the physics, the looks, the touch- everything feels unreal, like you're trapped in a dream. but you know ur trapped in a world where you have no real control for yourself. and you know you can't die here. you live on forever, but always with the threat of "abstracting" and staying in a deep dark hole, being trapped there forever. Just knowing that there is no way to escape this world or body ur trapped in sounds.. terrifying to me.

Amanda the Adventurer is pretty similar. Amanda used to be a girl named Rebecca (if I recall correctly, it's been a while) who was transferred into a computer. and she grew so lonely and trapped that she started bringing people into the computer with her. And her anger against Wooly makes sense -- I think he only exists to keep her trapped and to keep her from going insane.

The horror that really gets to me is stuff like that; psychological and existential horror. Have u ever heard of Jim's Computer? That one is really good.

But yeah see this is why "dumb little kid's games / shows" really get to me sometimes. I think so deeply about it, and I imagine myself in the world, and it scares me, but it also really captivates me.

I cannot wait to see the dark stuff in tadc. tadc is so brightly colored and super goofy and comedic, so dark moments would just be freaking awesome. I love dark themes.

All of this makes me furious that content farms even exist in the first place. LIKE THIS SHIT AIN'T FOR KIDS. IN. ANY. WAY.

Backstory of the au time✨

TW: signs of abuse, death mention.

Kai, a 25+ year old woman, works at the toy factory. Recently the factory has made their beloved maskot a tall new 'robot', to play around with the kids.

Kai was contracted...for a weird specific job in the said factory.

She was there for..."emotional support"...for who? The 'robot' itself.

She soon realizes Huggy is a living being, an experiment. She is there to help them stay sane and mentally well to play with the kids...while behind the scenes, he's being tested on.

One specific day things went wrong, Huggy seemingly "died" in one of his testing hours...Kai was very attached to him and he was attached to her. She cried and screamed at the scientists, this was the last drop for her.

She witnessed them treat Huggy poorly and tire him to a very unhealthy point of exhaustion. And she couldn't do anything to stop it. But this time they managed to kill them.

She was done with this job, she wanted to quit and find a way to expose the company for what they were doing, while she was snapping at the scientist who had 'killed' her fluffy friend, they managed to silence her forever. And give her a 'new job'.

Y'all can p much guess what they did yo her by the drawings I made nfjfndn and that Huggy didn't actually die that day.
