Y'know what I want? I want sick Bruce Wayne.
I want a Bruce that babies his kids when they're sick. He goes all out. 6'4 muscle-bound Jason Todd is getting tucked into bed with a kiss on the forehead to check his temperature and whines if Bruce forgets.
As good as his memory is, Bruce can't exactly remember what Thomas and Martha used to do when he was sick. They had a routine but the intricacies of it constantly escape him. As little as that may be, it does pang every now and again that he's forgetting them, forgetting how they loved him. He doesn't want that for any of his kids.
So he babies them, treats them like the little kids he knows they aren't and rarely if ever got to be. He deals with any vomit, tears or just general irritation that comes with being sick. It gets to point where when the kids are sick and Bruce isn't home, they can barely function.
Dick: THIS IS IT- THIS IS THE END
Wally: dude you just have a cold?
Dick: JUST A- JUST A COLD?!? WALLY, ARE YOU INSANE?? HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO MANAGE WITHOUT MY HOT CHOCOLATE AND HOME MADE BUNNY MARSHMALLOWS??!?
Wally: ok one, bunny marshmallows? adorable. and two, i've seen you walk off a fractured collarbone, two bruised ribs and a twisted ankle???
Dick: ....yeah but the marshmallows
Wally:
But Bruce? Oh when Bruce is sick, he powers through. But when he's so sick he considers himself a liability, he curls up in a small, dark room like a pregnant cat. It's practically instinct for him – when he's compromised like that, he needs to be in a place that he's knows is safe.
Very Sick Bruce also goes into Mama Bear Mode. He wants his kids in his sight at all times or he's practically inconsolable. If they're not with him, then they might be in danger, anything could happen – how can he protect them if they're not there? Just anxiety out of the wazoo.
I can see him trying to drag his 7 kids into one room so he can keep an eye on his babies.
Damian: baba we cannot all possibly fit-
Cass: -we will
Damian:
Damian: who's going first?
The kids do make things more comfortable. Fluffing his pillows, getting him tea and making sure he has his stuffies. Bruce appreciates it but he just says that all he needs are his kids. That always has them sobbing.
(happy holidays to my cold twin @bruciemilf i was inspired by our mutual sickness lol)

If you have some time could you do a part teo for the prompto starscourge? I know it's supposed to be angst but at the same time I want a good ending idk?? Anyways keep up the good work! And if not I would love to see Ignis anf Gladio's starscourge parts
For you anon, I’ll make time! I’m also not sick anymore so in less of in angsty mood so getting the chance to make the sunshine child happy is great idea!!! (Also there’s no need to worry because I’m still working on the Ignis and Gladio scourge parts) Then last but not least I want to say thank do much you for your kind words, and thank you for giving me my first ask prompt that I get to answer! I really hope you like the story!! (I apologize now because this is super long)
If you missed part one it’s right here: Part 1
Starscourge (Prompto Part2)
Maybe it really is better this way…
Time was nonexistent as the undertow violently yanked you further, and further out into the dark depths. Currents felt as if they were tossing you around in every direction as if you were nothing more than a rag doll caught in it’s iron grip. It wasn’t long before it was impossible tell one direction from another. Suddenly your lungs began to scream for air, and your body began to react on instinct rather than logic. Flailing arms and legs filled your vision as they desperately attempted to find a way out of the depths. Cold wind enveloped your face as your head miraculously broke the surface of the water. Alright I’m still alive, but now what am I going to do? Leaning back into the water you allowed yourself to float because your only other options would be to start swimming, but you clueless as to which way would carry back to shore. With the ambient sound of the ocean lulling you into a trance, you thought of the one thing that makes any situation brighter. Prompto.
Memories of your fist “date” came flooding into the forefront of your mind all at once. It all started when Wiz was asked to travel to the Cleigne to help a sick chocobo, and this lead to him leaving you in charge of the outpost until he returned. Everything was running smoothly until the final chocobo check of the night. Carefully you began to prep the chocobos for bed which included a nightly grooming, feeding, and a head count to make sure they were all accounted for. One, two, three, four… oh no. Panic began to set in as you counted, and recounted the number of chocochicks, but always coming up short.
“Hey Y/N!” The sound of the voice behind you jolted you from your worried thoughts.
Glancing over your shoulder you saw the familiar blond boy bounding over to you. A large smile was plastered across his face as he approached, but it quickly disintegrated once he saw the raw fear written across your face.
“Is… everything alright?” Prompt’s usual light voice was tense as he tried to tentatively approach the situation.
“No! Wiz left me in charge of the outpost, and I already managed to lose a chocochick. Not to mention that it’s already dusk, and that means if I can’t find it by dark it’ll be as good as gone!” Fear began to seep into every words as you pictured Wiz’s disappointment once he returned, but also because you pictured that scared chocochick all alone in the wilderness.
“WHAT!? Oh man we’ve gotta find it!” Almost immediately Prompto had intertwined your hand in his, and was dragging you towards the camper where the rest of the guys were preparing to turn in for the night.
“WE HAVE A CODE RED SITUATION! THERE IS A MISSING CHOCOCHICK, AND WE’RE GOING TO HELP Y/N FIND IT!” Prompto’s loud command took everyone by surprise, but the boys were more than willing to help.
“Alright Ignis you start looking East of here, Gladio you head South, Noctis take the West, and I’ll go North with Y/N. Ready, set, go!” Everyone set out as soon as the words had left his mouth.
The two of you mounted some chocobos, and set off towards Neeglyss Pond. All your worries seem to fly away in the wind that was blowing through your hair. It was so easy for you to get carried away while you were riding the bird because they always made you feel like you were at home. Luckily for you Duscae is full of vast fields so you were only forced to dismount your chocobos once you had hit the lakefront. You were scanning the shore for the missing chick when your eyes drifted to the sky above you, stars were beginning to pepper the late twilight hues. Time was running out, and you still had’t found the baby. This is useless, we’re never going to fi-
“Y/N! You gotta hear this!” Excitement was overflowing from Prompto’s voice as he began frantically waving for you to join him by your chocobos.
Hope washed over your body as you began to sprint over to the ecstatic blond who instantly pressed his cell phone up to your ear.
“Hey Prompto, let Y/N know that I got the chick back to the outpost safely. We’ll see you two once you get back.” The gruff voice that had left the voice message was none other than Gladio.
Tears of sheer happiness were threatening to spill out of your eyes as you engulfed Prompto in a bear hug. All the while a barely coherent mixture of laughter, and thank-yous escaped your mouth that was buried deep into Promto’s neck. You refused to pull away until you thought that you’d sufficiently suffocated the boy with gratitude.
“Thank you so much, Prompto. If it was’t for your help today I can just about guarantee that I wouldn’t have found the chick.”
“It was no trouble at all. Really. Except… I uh… was like wondering… if you uh… would want to… like stay here for a while… with me… and uh… like look… at the stars…?” Prompto was a deep shade of red as he stumbled across his own words, but cute none the less.
Of course you had accepted the invitation, and the two of you curled up against your chocobos while staring at the stars that now littered the dark sky. You can’t even remember how many hours you spent underneath the stars with him. Although you do remember the way the moonlight perfectly highlighted every detail of his face. You remember the gigantic smile plastered across his face when he showed all the photos he had taken that day. You remember the dark blush that crossed his face when you saw the candid of you riding your chocobo in the evening sunlight. You remember everything about him.
The excruciating pain that shot through your shoulder snapped you back into the present. Something had clamped itself around your injured arm, and was beginning to pull at it. Carelessly you let agonizing screams tear through your lips until you heard unfamiliar voices try to soothe your pain. That’s when you realized that it was hands clamped around your arm, and they were pulling you out of the water.
“SHE’S ALIVE! SOMEONE CALL A DOCTOR!” Another unfamiliar voice began shouting.
Your eyes began to adjust to the early morning light around you, and you could take in the unfamiliar city that surrounded you. The stone beneath you was a very light gray path for the maze of buildings built high around it. There were stairs high above your head, and canals flowed in every direction below your feet. Although the colorful presence of the city was the most mesmerizing part about it. Each vibrant building was unique from the one next to it.
“Everyone, please stand back!” Your heart froze at the sound of a girl’s gentle voice.
“L- la- lady Lun- Lunafreya?” The pain that had set your body ablaze moments ago had caused you to stumble upon your words.
The petite girl bent down next to you, and immediately her hands started to glow. As she placed them upon your blackened shoulder you felt the warmth of the light seep into your wounds, but this time the light didn’t burn. Instead you felt the darkness being pulled from your body, and you felt the scourge that was tearing you apart was finally being purged.
“That is all I can do for now, but trust that relief will come in a matter of days.” As Lunafreya lifted her hands from your wound you felt that she had lifted your dark burden once, and for all.
“Lunafreya, wait. I have news about Noctis. Is there anywhere we can speak… privately.” The words tumbled out of your mouth without a second thought.
After all this is all that you could offer to her for saving your life, and while it was no where as miraculous as what she had done for you.
“Follow me. I would love to hear what you have to say.” A warm smile graced Lunafreya’s kind face as she extended her hand out to you.
So it seems that this is the way that things are meant to be…
I’m sorry this is so long I had no intentions of writing a novel. I really hope you enjoyed it anon, and maybe if you ask I can turn this one shot into a three shot to cover the reunion between the reader and Prom. ;) (I’m just kidding because I’m probably gonna do a part three since I got so carried away with the flashback. BUT JUST IMAGINE GLADIO SLAYING ANYTHING IN HIS WAY WHILE PROTECTIVELY CRADLING A CHOCOCHICK.)
