SO!! first of all thank you to @trying-to-eat-the-stars for introducing me to milgram, i am eternally grateful, also i will try not to make this a big fandom-centric post and try to just focus on my opinions on the music since that is what the chain post is!!!!

'Weakness' by Haruka - haruka my son my special guy i want to adopt him oh my god this is already turning into a fandom post rather than a song post please forgive me. uhhh song words uhh well i really like the pace of it i love the fast bits and the quiet bits too this is such a good song i can't stop listening to it!! the pace is great and i love the singer's voice

so yeah all of these songs are from milgram!!!! milgram is quite danganronpa-y in my brain, it's about murders and it's japanese lol but it mostly consists of music! if anyone would like to learn more about it please message me because id love to share it with you!!

'Umbilical' by Yuno - YUNO IS A GIRLBOSS i love her voice she is so cute, was tempted to put her second song Tear Drop here but decided to put this one here instead as it's faster paced and more cutesy!! very girly and cute!!!!! i love her

'half' by Kazui - ohhh kazui he is so lovely.... maybe i just get attached to men with kazui at the start of their name😃 but i love him. um anyway about the song! i don't tend to enjoy music with voices as deep as his but the more my big theory about him develops the more i love the song :) very calming and pretty and quite slow, i like the whistling in the background

'All-Knowing And All-Agony' by Haruka - haruka's other song too lol i had to put both of them bc i listen to them both very often, i really like the pace of both of his songs!! his voice is lovely and again the slow bits. also the end bit the final few lines are SO GOOD it gives me goosebumps!!! listen to 2:54 onwards to get a feel of the fast pace of most of the song then hear the last few lines where he's all quiet and ughhhh it's so good

'This Is How To Be In Love With You' by Mahiru - okay yeah i love danganronpa's mahiru as well so it's a funny coincidence that i love both mahiru and kazui(chi) from both milgram and danganronpa lol anyway!!! this is another super girly song, she's adorable, fast paced and fun and cute!

Hey! Its thing >:)!

Its the thing i was teasing at in that post last night, and technically for like... four months? five? huh its been a bit since i second changed my url huh. Im not gonna go check or anything. If I were a bit more patient i wouldve waited for the archive collection become canon but im not. funfacterdroid is just more of my bran! Anyway! This post is my first impressions and opinions on each song on Back to the Egg! The Wings album i temporarily renamed myself after. (told ya i was gonna ramble wasnt i ydbfyufjd). It also happens to be the only wings album i havent listened to yet. And sure theres a bunch of singles and b-sides i havent listened to either, but this is the last one! I figured it should get some of its own treatment! I know that its gonna sound different to London Town and the two before it, cause McCulloch and English arent here. I’ve also heard that this album is bad and people called Paul a sellout because he transitioned to New Wave. New Wave is my favorite genre and I guess Wings werent ever that far from it? But they’re still a rock band at heart so i dont know how that change is going to fare. Enough introduction: Lets just go track by track! -Side One: Sunny Side Up-

Reception: Its just some radio garble, an instrumental meant to introduce the album. dont really have any opinions on it. Getting Closer: JAHBUDHSAUHJDHS WOAH WOAH WOAH!!! I didnt expect such a threatening title to be so upbeat. Like... opposite of Beware My Love. I do think its odd that there is barely any backup singing? Its not horrible just weird that this song, out of all the openers, doesnt. That outro is very much meant to be like a darker part of the song, like the dream sequence from A Day In The Life, but god dammit this song is just so upbeat! so weirdly cheerful and gentle! And... only 3 minutes? Rockshow and Jet were 4... eh those albums had a lot less songs, this one has 13 not counting Reception! Same as London Town, which i also really like! We’re Open Tonight: Oooohhh!! Very soft, I think I know what its about but when taken literally, to me it sounds like a quaint little shop trying to lure you in, sinisterly. I think the bass is making it sound evil to me, but thats a great thing! Clearly its trying to be like another I’m Carrying but that song fucking sucks!!!!!! I also really like how its only 1 minute, something so haunting about it. Not sure if thats positive or negative but the songs cool! Spin It On: hHEHEYEHY!! Getting Closer.... 2! kinda. Its much much faster and i can barely understand the words hes saying... or what hes spinning. The backing vocals are really cool though. the lyrics mention a pinball table? Y.. you know pinball doesn't spin right? it falls.... Questionable lyrics aside, theres really not a lot of SPEEDY Wings songs! Glad that one of the few is also extremely good!

Again and Again and Again: WOW OKAY! this is sung by denny, all of these songs start pretty fast unlike a good chunk of their past work, but i really like that! But it also means i cannot process a single thing denny is saying, i think he said something about a school? and being in a bad situation? ah whatever. Denny used to be in an R&B band and i really think thats going to work here! This isnt an exactly a Rhythm-y or Bluesey song, but He’s clearly having fun! thats why i love wings in general, its easy to tell that the band was having fun recording a song! Old Siam, Sir: A-hmm. Paul’s doing his squeaky voice again... I guess that can work sometimes but its absolutely not complimenting the piano in the background. Also, I feel like a squeaky voice wouldnt work the best for a story song. A story thats pretty incomprehensible too? Who is this lady! What the fuck is this village!! This is the song you wanted to make 4 minutes? and it fades out too... how much did they record... Arrow Through Me: So this is the one that the critics liked? Its the most synth heavy which i understand why people like, I like synths too! I like how the bass (which i think is also from a synth?) lines up perfectly with the horns! Its alright, it might grow on me later, but now its just a passable song. One i wouldnt skip. Plus I really like the reverb effects, the whole album has em but this one really makes use!! Kinda bad overall though.

-Side Two: Over Easy- Rockestra Theme: Just an instrumental. But one thats really important to music history! I don’t actually know the full story to this one, but I do know that i really like it! Plus the vocal effects on Paul’s... Scatting i guess you could call it? Whatever it is, it works! To You: This sounds... eerily like Getting Closer. But bad... Eh I like that organ. Not much to say really... theres only like one verse. After the Ball / Million Miles: Oh cool another medley. Last one we got was two albums ago! I guess since this is technically two songs id have to... review them both? After the Ball is exactly what it sounds like. A gentle rock song about seeing your love after a party :)! Pretty standard for wings. Million Miles! Sounds a lot like After the Ball but with an accordian? Fuck I’m not complaining. But also who the fuck is Deo. Winter Rose / Love Awake: Uh- Something is,,, wrong with Paul’s voice. like he damaged it? I mean its not horrible it just kinda takes me out of the emersion? Oh we’re already on Love Awake! his voice is fine now..! Man this song is mediocre! No wonder the 70s are regarded as lame./lh Weird that Linda isn’t singing backup here? Or if she is that Denny’s voice is just drowning her out. Winter Rose itself is kinda lame but its... sweeter I guess?  The Broadcast: SINISTER!!!!!!! I do not know who is talking but this sounds... dystopian. I don’t even know what the poem is about its just... the whole song is slightly off. But i mean that in a good way! So Glad to See You Here: MAN! They were trying so hard to be punk... Okay as a punk song this sounds horrible! But as a song in general i like it! It’s not mixed the best but i really like the lyrics! And I-HOLY SHIT WE’RE OPEN TONIGHT PART TWO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I really didnt expect that,,, thats.... genuinely cool! Baby’s Request: Oh the finale! H..huh... Jazzy! And its about going to sleep.. i think? Regardless, Paul’s good at writing songs to fall asleep to, this isnt an exception at all!! Although it is weird that at the end the same horn plays as the one in Thrillington’s Monkberry Moon Delight... Its probably just a coincidence, i thought it was funny though. ---- Okay! Overall, I liked Sunny Side-Up more as a whole since i like 4/6 of its songs, but MAN So Glad to See You Here and Baby’s Request are REALLLY GOOD-But then again. I only listened to all of these songs once, and i wont listen to them again until ive finished writing this post, just to keep my first impressions fresh. I don’t really know what else to say that album was fun as hell! So I’d give Back To The Egg a... 7.8/10! I really didnt expect to like it this much. even though New Wave is my favorite music genre, i didnt think paul would be able to do it justice! Especially since the genre was just starting itself up... heh.... hope it gets archived soon.

On his days off, be aware of his schedule by not arranging too many activities. If you really fancy an activity with your husband on the weekend, consider picking one day on the weekend, or making plans every other weekend. Or just communicate with him to find out his plans first.

Trust

This is important to the success of any relationship. Healthy relationships is built by being honest with each other, communicating often, and learning how to fight impartially. It takes time to build trust. Over the time, you two will learn what it means to keep promises, be yourself, and show how much you love and value each other.

If you have doubts about your husband and find it hard to trust him, seek counselling. Don’t participate in activities like infidelity or spying.

Companionship

Confidently, you can say that your husband is your homie, lover, and friend. Remaining friends and companions throughout the years need that you find habits to make quality time to be together and have new practices.

Marrying your best friend also means being watchful of how you talk to each other, not taking him for granted, and making small sacrifices to please each other. Practice using kind words, show your thankfulness for him daily, and choose to watch his favorite local sports game instead of your go-to show.

so you want to make a twitter (part 2)

i’ve seen a few guides on twitter for new twitter users, which is nice, but something about having the posts being things you had to finds on twitter--a new site for the people who needed those guides--seemed unhelpful to me. so, i figured id make a small series of guides of my own here for anyone considering a move (or just making an account) who dont know how

this is a series of posts, since im going to be sort of detailed, so feel free to use just the pieces you need. ill tag them all “lews twitter tutorials” so you can find them on my blog

this is written under the assumption that youve read part 1 of this mini guide series, and dont know anything about twitter or any other social media site but tumblr

ill put it under a cut to save your space, but here’s the most important feature of twitter: tweeting!

so, tweeting. this is something you obviously have to know how to do.  this is how to make a tweet, differences between tumblr and twitter, and how to interact with a tweet

so, making one! when you make a new tweet on mobile, the screen looks like this

(the icons are p much the same whether you use mobile or desktop, so it doesnt matter which i use)

first, the tweet itself! tweets can only be up to 280 characters, and cant be edited once you post them. theres no feature to bold, italicize, underline, or add linked text in twitter, so its not as good as tumblr for stuff like that, unfortunately. 

here’s what the icons at the bottom do, from left to right

- pictures! this is sort of straightforward: it lets you add pictures. a tweet can only contain either 4 pictures, 1 gif, or 1 video. you cant have a gif and a picture, or a picture and a video. 

a note for artists! twitter is known to compress image quality when images are uploaded, BUT there is a workaround! if you have even one single transparent pixel, your image wont be compressed. 

a note for everyone! you can enable image transcription captions in settings (Settings > Accessibility > compose image descriptions). this allows you to type a short image description to any image you post, if you choose to. it’s a feature i recommend you have on and try to use for your followers who might have worse vision!

- gif keyboard! this image is a search for reaction gifs, basically. i almost never use it bc i can usually never find the specific gif im looking for...

- polls! tis is a feature i like about twitter! it allows you to conduct anonymous polls with up to four options. you can set a time limit and leave it up to allow people to respond. settle arguments between you and your friends or get opinions!

you cant post an image and a poll in the same tweet, so if you want opinions on something in an image, just have the poll be a reply to your tweet

- location! you can add your current location to any tweet. ive had this disabled for so long i genuinely dont know like... anything about this.

listen, im trying my best

- the little circle at the bottom which is grey with a dot of blue is the character counter. the circle is grey when empty, and gets bluer as you tweet. it wont count out how many characters you have left until youre within 20 of being full, in which case itll let you know so you dont go over the limit. 

- finally, theres the + icon, which is for making threads. it lets you edit multiple tweets at once, connected in a string. threads are helpful for a lot of reasons!

if you have information to share, then put it together in a thread! if one tweet in a thread is retweeted, it’s marked as being part of a thread. this will encourage readers to look at the rest!

if you like to livetweet series, put it in a thread! this allows you to keep all your livetweets in one place, and also allows people following you to mute the thread if they arent interested

- i also know on mobile if you close out with the X, you can save a tweet to drafts to edit and post later. i dont know if you can do this on desktop because i never use desktop, and when i have, i couldnt ever find the drafts thing. i know if you delete the app, all your drafts are deleted, too

WELL, now that youve got the basics on a tweet....

interacting with the tweets of others

okay, heres a bit on what buttons do what, and some Twitter Manners

here’s our sample tweet, posted. this isnt how it appears on the timeline, but how it appears once you click it, so i can show the full range of things you can do with a tweet.

you can see the tweet, who posted it, and the date/time, and other stuff

- profile. top left. if you click the icon/display name/handle of the op, you can go to their profile!

- menu. see the little arrow in the top right corner? thats a menu. 

on your own tweet, you can delete the tweet here, pin it to your profile, or mute it. muting a tweet means you no longer get notifications when someone interacts with it

on someone else’s tweet, you can follow or unfollow the op of the tweet, mute the op, block the op, or report the tweet

in the bottom row....

- theres tweet activity. it only shows up on your own tweet, and lets you see how many people have seen your tweet.

- below this would tell you how many likes and retweets your tweet got, but no one liked or retweeted my wonderful tweet for some strange reason, so i cant show you

worth noting, if your account is on private, you wont show up in the notifications of people who arent following you

now for the buttons

- the speech bubble is replies! that lets you repy to the tweet

worth saying, if you reply to a retweet or conversation, its important to be sure to un-@ the people who you arent talking to. when you reply to someone, at the top of the reply it will list everyone youre replying to. click the little names and unclick the check boxes by the names of those not involved, and youre good to go! not doing this is considered rude/annoying

- next, retweeting! retweeting is sort of like reblogging. you retweet another tweet so it shows up on your own account. you can retweet without comment, which brings the tweet as is, or with comment, which allows you to add your own sort of caption. the op of the tweet will nto be notified for any replies, likes, or retweets on a comment retweet

a note! people often do retweets with comments on stuff like news stories to add their own commentary/jokes

another note! DO NOT do this to art by artists, even if youre doing it to be nice! a lot of artists, especially international artists, find this incredibly rude, as it takes away attention and retweets from the art itself. if you want to share art, just retweet. if you want to say something nice, just tell them in replies!

its not uncommon for people to retweet something without comment, then make a tweet of their own to comment on them.these tweets generally start with LRT (last retweet)

- likes are pretty simple. you press the like button and you like the post. one thing thats different from tumblr to twitter, though, is twitter has a feature that shows your likes (and that you liked them) to your followers (if they havent disabled it). 

- the share button allows you to share tweets! you can DM them to your friends, bookmark them (this is good for articles and such), or copy the link to share elsewhere.

and... that concludes tweeting!

What are your thoughts on the album as a whole and the individual songs?? Also how do you feel about the direction bts seems to be taking with not only their music style but also the way bigshit is marketing them. Youve always seemed the type to be able to sort out and share your thoughts clearly so im really interested in what you have to say about this album!

I’m really flattered you asked! I’ve listened to the album about two more times after my first comments, and my opinion has somewhat changed due to commentary others have provided. (I want to apologize in advance because this is going to be long and I’m on mobile so I can’t put it under a cut).

To be honest? I initially didn’t like the concept of the album. It’s seemed like the opposite of what I love about BTS’ music- very EDM, feeding into more mainstream pop, with the majority of songs seemingly about the very overused topic of love. I was scared that they were going to keep going down this road as they got more popular, in fact their first big song, I Need U, was their first song to contain an EDM(?) influence. I’ve never been musically into their more party-banger songs like Fire, Dope, and Not Today, it’s just not my style of music. I missed songs like Hip Hop Lover, So 4 More, Adult Child, etc., which is the style of music I have in my mind as “bangtan’s style”.

But reading over other people’s opinions and the lyrics of each song, I began to see that even if I disliked the music style, it was a valid and necessary change, and the core message of the album is still very much bangtan’s style.

Bangtan can’t stay in the Dark and Wild or HYYH eras I fell in love with forever. Their style of music must change if they want to keep their music fresh to the ear, and even if they do change styles they will always keep what I love about them- their interesting thoughts and lyrics that make them human and their passion and drive that earns them my respect as artists. That has always and will always remain what makes bangtan who they are, not the style of their music or the clothes they wear or the choreo they perform. They’re bigger than that.

As for marketing- I really liked what they did with the short films, but the Highlight reels and Smeraldo felt kind of forgettable after this comeback. Maybe they’ll come into play later? I don’t know, but what made the short films so effective in the first place was how they built up the hype around the album way more effectively than any teaser could have. It was ingenious. If I could relive that week again, I would.

Now, for individual songs. I absolutely love Serendipity! I had no idea Jimin’s voice would suit R&B like that, and I love the atmosphere of the song. And the drop! God, when that hits I just want to close my eyes and drift away with his voice. A beautiful song, 10/10.

DNA is, like I’ve said before, not my kind of song, but I’ll still vibe to it. I especially love how they finally let Tae use his deep voice on a title track and how they let Jeongguk back onto the rap line haha. My favorite part is definitely either Yoongi’s rap or Tae’s part at the bridge. 6.4/10.

Best of Me: Although it is clearly influenced by the Chainsmokers, it was still very much Bangtan’s song. I think that was most evident in the breakdown/bridge. My favorite part is Yoongi’s verse (he brings the energy) and the faint choir in the background of the last chorus, which got stuck in my head all day today. Also, I think you can hear Hoseok singing in that chorus! 7/10

Dimple: This song encompasses my feelings towards Namseok’s dimples. But seriously, “illegirl” made me smile so much lmao I bet jeongguk wrote that (mr shesus and all). It gets a little repetitive if you play it all the time, but spaced out this song is pretty and fun. Jin’s “oh baby noooo hey” gave me CHILLS. 6.9/10 (upped from 6.5 cause of subject matter and Jin.)

Pied Piper: The first thought I had of this song was that it somehow sounded a lot like an EXO song haha. But that changed as soon as I read Namjoon’s verse. The more I listened to this song the more I liked it! I absolutely love how self-aware bangtan is and how free they are in their song topics, and this perfectly highlights both. I also love all the little flourishes in this song, like that guitar chord in tae’s verse and Hoseok singing!!!!! 9/10.

Mic Drop: I love how the inspiration behind this song (I mean seriously, how many k-pop songs do you know that were inspired by Obama’s mic drop?) and the rapper line’s performance, but honestly the chorus is too grating at some points. I think the auto tune is used well and it adds good parts, but overall it’s too biting. Rap line killed it, though! 6.7/10

Go Go: 1) I think the way they satirized YOLO culture was super creative! It allows them to venture into this style of song while also presenting a message befitting BTS. Loved that. 2) HOSEOK IN THIS SONG SMDJSJFN sorry I know I’m supposed to be reviewing the album but I had to fangirl a little bit. His and Jimin’s voices suit this genre so well. 3) The only part o disliked was that really high-pitched part before the hoseok’s yoloyoloyolo, you know what I’m talking about. Again, it’s a little grating on the ears and turned me off from the song for a moment. Also, I’m just waiting for someone to edit tae’s “EVERYBODY” into Shots by lmfao. 7.5/10

Outro: HER: I. Love. This. Song. It’s my type of music, and the kind of Bangtan I had worried wouldn’t be part of this album. I love all parts of it- Namjoon’s flow and quotable lyrics, Yoongi’s soft singing and scathing lyrics, and Hoseok’s singing!!!!! And again, the LYRICS! I need to see more people talking about the lyrics to this song- personally I feel like it’s about their relationship to the fandom and how they have to keep up their idol image even if that’s not who they are. Yoongi’s verse makes this clear and Hoseok’s is the most interesting to me (but that could be my bias showing). The whole concept of putting on a mask because you’re scared they won’t love the you behind the mask- that is what love yourself is about, facing what’s behind that mask and accepting it so you can confidently face the people you love. 10/10

Ocean: There is so much to love about this track. As soon as I heard there was going to be a hidden track I knew it was made my Namjoon and he never disappoints. It’s emotional, atmospheric, meaningful, etc.. I loved Namjoon and Yoongi’s verses, plus the rush of the clapping parts in the chorus, as well as tae’s low register at the end!!!!! Yes!!!!!!!!!!! I love how much they used it this comeback. The chorus got a little overused but it was cancelled out by the amazing lyrics and namjoon’s monologue that I hope he never stops doing. 8.5/10.
