it’s very good im enjoying the storylines a lot, lopez & jackson are so fun. i already know a lot of what happens in the later seasons but it’s so interesting to see everything come together!

I agree about chenford getting together but do we really need to wait until the season finale they have 23 episodes I'm hoping it's more like the mid season finale when Rosalind kidnaps Tim and forces them to reveal their feelings ala clois I see what they're setting up but I don't think it can sustain 22 episodes to me from a storytelling pov also I don't think the show is getting past a sixth season, a seventh one if they're very lucky and I need a full season of them in love and then getting engaged/married. I need so see a wedding and by some miracle maybe a few episodes when they're actually married. There's also always the fear of one of the actors leaving like we're one Chicago people WE KNOW the turnover on those shows is genuinely insane but it's a lot of other shows too. This last year so many shows lost half of their ships and it's not like this show didn't have two of its main characters leave already.

I actually think letting them take the full 23 episodes of the season before getting together in the finale isn’t so bad. If it were Tim and Lucy’s show then yes, it would probably happen by the mid season finale or even sooner, but there are other characters to consider who have storylines coming up. What with Nyla’s baby on the way, Lopez needing some detective storylines, Nolan and Bailey being a couple, Wesley becoming a prosecutor, and Nolan’s first rookie coming into the show (yay to Lisseth Chavez!!) there’s going to be A LOT going on this season. That’s not even including the stuff with Rosalind, and Lucy and Tim’s individuals storylines (i.e. we know Genny is coming back for an episode this season). Alexi himself even said there would be a delay in the consequences of Chenford’s kiss, because there’s just a lot going on and so they take a beat to focus on other things too while Ashley comes into play and the kiss really starts doing damage.

And y’know what? I’m kind of here for that! I like the idea of their relationship taking the full season. As long as we’ve been waiting for this as fans, this is still a very new thing to Lucy and Tim. They have a lot of things to deal with first: her trauma from Rosalind, her relationship with Chris, his with Ashley, accepting the fact that they almost did something that morally would not have made sense for either of them, and their true feelings. They were going to give way to this impulse they had, but I think they really need to recognize the permanence of these feelings they have for each other. Once they see that it’s real love and it’s something that’s not going away, and once they’re both single, THAT’S when they are going to get together. And that might take a while given everything they have to sift through emotionally and logistically, but it’s still going to happen. And damn if I don’t love a good angsty slowburn!!

So I can’t really say anything about the number of seasons they’ll have. I honestly have no idea, but I’m assuming they could do at least 2 more if they’re doing well enough with the network now to merit a spinoff. Whether they will, I don’t know. But I think they’ll milk this show for all it’s worth and I also think if they’re willing to write in Alyssa Diaz’s AND Mekia Cox’s pregnancies just to keep them on, it fosters a positive environment which means the actors probably won’t be leaving anytime soon. Titus only left because he wasn’t comfortable, morally, playing a cop anymore after the BLM movement reached its peak. That’s an extenuating circumstance, and a unicorn in this show’s otherwise relatively stable cast. Melissa and Eric also ADORE the fans, I really don’t see them leaving anytime soon. They’re Chenford nuts like us, they would want to do it justice. I know One Chicago has left me and so many others in the fandom heartbroken from completely unexpected character/actor exits, but this show has shown itself to be very different from OC so I’m going to try and keep the two separate.

ABC has also announced no scripted shows will appear on its schedule until next year, with The Rookie season 6 premiere now being announced: “at a later date.” This same rule applies to any renewal announcement on The Rookie spin-off show, The Rookie: Feds. So, with all that being said, it will be 2024 before we see The Rookie season 6.

Flashpoint

A Canadian cop show set in Toronto that first appeared on CTV and CBS on July 11th 2008 at 10pm on Friday known as the death slot it later switched to Thursday at 9pm on CBS. The show ran 5 seasons and went out with a bang. Team One goes on high risk hostage calls where people are having their worst moment. Because one moment changes Everything. The show stars Amy Jo Johnson the original pink ranger on MMPR as Julianna "Jules" Callaghan a profiler/sniper, former RCMP officer and only woman on the team until Donna in season 2 she is also the wife of Sam and mother of sadie.  Hugh Dillion from the headstones as Edward "Ed" Lane sniper and team leader he is also a husband to Sophie, dad of 2 Clark and Izzy. Enrico Colintoni from just shoot me and Veronica Mars as Gregory "Greg" Parker negotiator/profiler he has one son Dean. Castle

An American show that first premiered as a midseason replacement on ABC March 9th 2009 at 10pm after Monday night's Dancing with the Stars. The show ran for 8 seasons The show is about Detective's for the 12th precinct who solve the weirdest murders and bring justice to their familes.   It stars Nathan Fillion from Firefly as Richard ``Rick" Edger Castle, Famous Mystery Writer who is suffering from writer's block, and kills off Derrick Storm, the main character from his most successful book series. He is brought in by the NYPD for questioning regarding a copycat murder based on one of his Derek Storm novels. He then shadows and assists Kate. Born Richard Alexander Rodgers. Stana Katic as Katherine ``Kate" Houghton Beckett, NYPD homicide Detective from the 12th precinct and muse for Castle and Nikk Heat. Seamus Dever as Detective Kevin Ryan, a former narcotics detective who is a member of Beckett's team. Jon Huertas as Detective Javier ``Javi" Esposito, a former Army Special Forces soldier who is also a member of Beckett's team. He is best friends with his partner, Detective Ryan. Tamala Jones as Dr. Lanie Parish, a medical examiner and on-again-off-again love interest for Esposito, and is also a best friend of Beckett. Ruben Santiago-Hudson played  Captain Roy Montgomery from  (seasons 1–3; with a guest star in season 6),  he is Beckett's former boss and former captain of the 12th Precinct. Penny Johnson Jerald as Captain Victoria Gates sometimes called Iron gates she appears in (seasons 4–7), she was Captain Montgomery's replacement, and former Internal Affairs officer. Molly Quinn as Alexis Castle, Castle's daughter by his first wife, Meredith Lee Harper. Susan Sullivan as Martha Rodgers, Castle's mother, and Alexis's grandmother she is an actress on and off Broadway.

The rookie

 The show premiered on October 16th 2018. The series follows John Nolan, a forty year old newly divorced man from Pennsylvania. He is the oldest rookie on the force The man whose story inspired the premise of the show Bill Norcross, he continues to serve in the LAPD and is executive producer on The Rookie.  Currently in season 4 heading for season 5. Nathan Fillion from Castle and Firefly as John Nolan: The oldest rookie (Police Officer II) at the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD), he is assigned to the Wilshire Division. Melissa O'Neil as Lucy Chen: An ambitious rookie (Police Officer II) who struggles to prove herself to Tim Bradford, her training officer. Mekia Cox as Nyla Harper (season 2–present): Nolan's new training officer (Police Detective I), an experienced detective who has four years of undercover work under her belt. Eric Winter as Tim Bradford: A by the books, no-nonsense training officer (Police Officer III/Sergeant I) who trained Lucy.  Alyssa Diaz as Angela Lopez: An LAPD detective (Detective I). She is assigned to train Jackson West. Richard T. Jones as Wade Grey: A sergeant (Sergeant II) and watch commander at the Wilshire Station. Shawn Ashmore as Wesley Evers (season 3–present; recurring seasons 1–2): A defense lawyer and Angela's husband they have a son together named Jackson. Jenna Dewan as Bailey Nune she appears in (season 4; and as a guest in season 3): A firefighter who becomes Nolan's girlfriend. 

Law and orders svu

An American show that first premiered on September 20th 1999 on NBC 23 years ago and currently in season 23 renewed for season 24 about Svu detective's that solve rape, domestic violence and abuse cases. The series  follows Mariska Hargitay as Olivia Benson the longest running female in a drama series who solves sex crimes she starts out  as a Jr. Detective in  (seasons 1–12) becomes a Sr. Detective (seasons 13–15) gets promoted to Sergeant in (seasons 15–17) makes the rank of Lieutenant in (seasons 17–21) and finally Captain in (season 21–) her adopted son is Noah porter Benson played by Ryan Buggle in her 23 years as an SVU detective she has seen the worst she is empathetic and compassionate to victims. In real life Mariska own the joyful heart foundation a non profit helping the victims of rape and abuse. Ice-T who is a raper as Odafin Tutuola  who is Jr. Detective in (seasons 2–8) And Sr. Detective in (seasons 9–19) he then gets promoted to Sergeant in (season 19–). Kelli Giddish as Amanda Rollins Jr. Detective (seasons 13–21) Sr. Detective (season 21–). She has 2 kids Jessie and Billie. Peter Scanavino as Dominick Carisi Jr. A Jr. Detective jn (seasons 16–20) And Assistant DA (season 21–). 

Rizzoli and isles

 

An American show that first premiered on July 12th  2010 about Homicide Detective's and ran for 7 seasons The series' backstory is inspired by a series of novels by Tess Gerritsen Featuring Maura Isles/Jane Rizzoli. Jane Rizzoli appears in the series' first novel, The Surgeon, and  Maura Isles is introduced in the second, The Apprentice, which serves as the basis for the television series. The series starts off with Jane Rizzoli who has been investigating a serial killer named Charles Hoyt. It stars Angie Harmon who plays Jane Clementine Rizzoli: a Boston detective in the Homicide Unit and Maura's best friend. Sasha Alexander plays Dr. Maura Dorothea Isles: Chief Medical Examiner of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts' and Jane's best friend.  She is also a forensic expert working at the BPD. Bruce McGill plays Vincent "Vince" Walter Korsak: Rizzoli's former partner. The late Lee Thompson Young played Barold "Barry" Frost ( from seasons 1–4): he was Rizzoli's second partner and a wiz with computers. Jordan Bridges as Francesco "Frankie" Rizzoli, Jr.: a police officer and Jane's little brother. Brian Goodman plays Sean Cavanaugh in (seasons 3–4; recurring role in seasons 1–2, 5): the lieutenant of the Boston PD's Homicide Unit. Lorraine Bracco plays Angela Rizzoli: Jane, Frankie and Tommy's overbearing mother. Adam Sinclair plays Dr. Kent Drake ( in season 7; he has a recurring role in, season 6): he is a lab technician and Maura's new assistant.

Rookie blue

 A Canadian cop show that first appeared On June 24th, 2010, it aired in Canada on Global and in the USA on ABC.  Set in Toronto, the series follows the lives of five rookie cops from fictional 15 Division who have just graduated from the police academy. "to serve, protect, and don't screw up". Missy Peregrym as Andrea "Andy" McNally married Sam, Andy was a  former rookie turned Training Officer. Travis Milne as Christian "Chris" Diaz, former rookie turned Training Officer. Charlotte Sullivan as Gail Peck sister of Steve she was a former rookie turned Training Officer. Priscilla Faia as Chloe Price, former rookie turned Training Officer. Peter Mooney as Nick Collins Officer. Enuka Okuma as Traci Nash, former rookie turned Detective Sergeant. Gregory Smith as Dov Epstein, former rookie turned Detective. Ben Bass as Sam Swarek, Detective father to Marlo's son and Husband to Andy. Adam MacDonald as Stephen "Steve" Peck Detective brother of Gail peck. Rachael Ancheril as Marlo Cruz Detective has one Child with Sam. Eric Johnson as Lucas "Luke" Callaghan Detective. Unboxing HorrorPack - March 2021

HorrorPack is a subscription box featuring monthly shipments of four different horror movies on your choice of Blu-ray or DVD, including a limited edition title. As someone who collects horror movies and enjoys mystery boxes, it's right up my alley. I’ve detailed the films included in the March 2021 shipment below.

The only title I was familiar with in the package was Critters Attack, the fifth installment in the Critters franchise. Bobby Miller (The Cleanse) directs from a script by Scott Lobdell (Happy Death Day). Dee Wallace (E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial), who starred in the 1986 original, returns to the series as a bounty hunter - although her character has a different name for apparent legal reasons. Tashiana Washington, Ava Preston (Rusty Rivets), Jack Fulton, and Jaeden Noel (Killjoys) also star, with Steve Blum (Star Wars Rebels) voicing the crites.

Despite being made on a low budget as a Syfy original movie, the film boasts impressive practical creatures. The designs are faithful to the Chiodo Brothers' classic crites, and they have just as much personality. The film introduces a friendly crite, like Gizmo to Gremlins; a bit of an odd choice but it mostly works. The one-dimensional human story - revolving around a babysitter (Washington) watching three kids when the small yet vicious aliens invade - is regularly broken up by bursts of carnage, earning the series' first R rating.

Critters Attack was released on Blu-ray (with DVD and Digital) in 2019 via Warner Brothers. Special features include: Engineering Gore: Designing Critters featurette, Critters: An Out-of-this-World Experience featurette, The Critter Ball featurette, and scene-specific audio commentary with Miller and a crite. It also came with a slipcover.

As a collector, the greatest appeal of HorrorPack is the exclusive Blu-ray. These limited edition titles are often indie movies that otherwise may never be available in high definition, with past exclusives including The Barn, Dead Hooker in a Trunk, Night of Something Strange, 4/20 Massacre, The Black Dahlia Haunting, and President's Day.

This month's limited edition Blu-ray is After Dark. The 2013 effort is directed by Rico Johnson, who co-wrote the script with Carl Earhart. Korrina Rico, Scott DeFalco, Jesse James Youngblood, Mekia Cox (Once Upon a Time), David Thomas Jenkins, Marisa Saks, Lane Compton, and Jonathan Nsien star. The only special feature is the trailer.

I was hoping to enjoy this one, but it's a painfully generic slasher with a finale reflecting the then-popular so-called "torture porn" trend. It also features hateful language that no longer flies in 2021. It follows a group of shallow teenagers - entitled bros and catty girls - on a Spring Break trip to the sand dunes. While the film is hindered by its low budget, no amount of money could have saved it. It's so cliche ridden that it almost feels like a parody - except it's not (intentionally) funny.

Killer Movie premiered at the 2008 Tribeca Film Festival. Largely populated by TV talent, the cast features Paul Wesley (The Vampire Diaries), Kaley Cuoco (The Big Bang Theory), Gloria Votsis (White Collar), Jason London (Dazed and Confused), Al Santos (Jeepers Creepers 2), Adriana DeMeo (Without a Trace), Leighton Meester (Gossip Girl), Nestor Carbonell (Bates Motel), Torrey DeVitto (Pretty Little Liars), Robert Buckley (iZombie), and NSYNC's JC Chasez.

Reality TV director Jeff Fisher (The Challenge, The Simple Life) makes his feature debut as writer and director. Drawing on his background, the slasher follows a film crew in a small North Dakota town shooting a reality series about an underdog hockey team, but the focus shifts to true crime when a masked killer who films his murders strikes. The reality show-style talking head interstitials provide some levity but not enough to push it into horror-comedy territory, which could have improved the film. It has good production value, a strong cast, and a fun setup, but there are too many underdeveloped characters and subplots that merely pad the runtime.

Killer Movie was released on Blu-ray in 2009 by Phase 4 Films. Special features include a behind-the-scenes featurette and the theatrical trailer.

Child of Satan (also known as Neron) is a 2016 film co-directed by Mitesh Kumar Patel and Sam Son and written by Lekhraj Patel. Kacey Clarke (Resident Evil: Afterlife), Eric Roberts (The Dark Knight), Yves Bright, Caite Upton (The Amazing Race), James Martin Kelly, Raymond Forchion, Inger Tudor, and Kirk Bovill star.

Between the title and the artwork, it came as no surprise that this one is a riff on Rosemary's Baby. It doesn't bring anything new to the table, but it's so unintentionally campy that it's almost enjoyable... almost. After the premature birth of her son Neron (!), Allison (Clarke) begins to suspect there's something wrong with her baby, only to be dismissed by her husband (Bright) as the bodies of those close to her pile up. Roberts receives top billing despite limited screen time as a knowledgeable priest in an ill-fitting costume, though he earns his paycheck with his commitment to the balderdash he spews.

Child of Satan was released on Blu-ray in 2017 via Cinedigm and ITN Distribution. The lone special feature is a trailer.

From best to worst, I'd rank HorrorPack's March 2021 films as follows: Critters Attack, Killer Movie, Child of Satan, After Dark. While I wasn't a big fan of any of the selections this time around, the thrill of the unknown is what makes a mystery box so appealing. HorrorPack certainly delivers in that sense, along with the added allure of an exclusive/limited edition release. HorrorPack Blu-ray plans start at $24.99 for a single month and go as low as $22.74/month with an annual plan.
