Of course!

One aspect I love about them: I love Mal’s loyalty. It’s a little sad but this man has been a servant to others his whole life- to Alina, to the first army, to Ravka. This man made the very blatant choice to sacrifice himself for the world and I do believe he’d make that choice again and again. He thinks through a filter of what he can give others and that makes me just want to hide him from the world.

One aspect I wish more people understood about them: Okay on the flip side of that, this man has his own agency!!! Despite sharing the same upbringing as Alina, and living her to bits, he has his own thoughts and opinions. He is not a saint, not a Grisha, not a king, but he is a soldier. A soldier’s point of view of war I think is both needed and valuable and people need to stop acting like being “normal” makes him irrelevant and in the way.

One headcanon I have about them: My headcanon is that Mal comes up with stupid nicknames for everyone in his life. It starts out insulting, (he never lives down calling an all powerful saint “shadow man”) but eventually turns endearing. He refuses to give Nikolai a nickname just to wind him up, and Nikolai has been going on stealth missions to try and gain a nickname in a totally natural and accidental way ever since. Everyone sometimes forgets that Mal is the best tracker in Ravka and can literally feel you coming you dumbass. (The nickname dumbass sticks from then on.)

One character I love seeing them interact with: Okay unexpected answer even for me, but I really loved getting to see him interact with Baghra. I think unconsciously Mal has been missing some kind of cosmic purpose his entire life. Destiny just kind of follows him around like a shadow, and he doesn’t even understand what it means. Baghra meets him and reads him instantly. Perhaps this is because they’re related, or because of her age, but there’s something so absolutely bone chiling but right and surreal about their conversations.

One character I wish they would interact with more: Okay I don’t know if this even counts but, I sort of wish he and Matthias had gotten to meet and be friends. They both have lived such strict and militaristic upbringings and yet risked it all and threw away everything they knew in order to follow their hearts. I just think they might’ve pulled some interesting insight from each other!

One headcanon I have about them and another character: In my head Mal and Alina and a bunch of their kids spends lots of late nights outside during the heat of the summer. One night everyone bursts into laughter after a bug lands on Mal’s face and strangely starts to glow. The kids run around screaming trying to catch a firefly for themselves. Alina manages to catch one in between two palms, and for a second light bleeds through little gaps in between her fingertips. Mal just kind of sits back and smiles because Alina has always been so blindingly bright, and he’s happy to know there are still moments where she simply glows.

“R-really?” Evan says. He’s aiming for casual but the stutter gives him away. “Seems — ah, fuck — seems fine to me.”

Evan’s turnouts don’t give Tommy a lot of room to manoeuvre, but he’s made do with less. Besides, he knows Evan inside and out — knows he doesn’t need the full range of motion of his wrist to be able to wring every drop of pleasure out of Evan.

He shouldn’t be doing this here, though. Barely hidden away behind the 118’s ladder truck while the rest of the crew are putting out the last of the fire. It was a fire at a warehouse, air support called in to extinguish some stubborn flames on the roof. Once Tommy realized which crew they were assisting, he’d barely dowsed the last of the flames before he was putting the helicopter on the ground. It wasn’t the only him that felt the craving gnawing at his insides — Evan had been right there when he’d hopped out of the bird, his feet barely hitting the pavement before Evan took his hand and dragged him off.

Now, Tommy squeezes his hand around Evan’s cock on the downstroke, revelling in the way Evan’s head bangs against the side of the truck. Evan’s hips jerk in time with Tommy’s strokes, his breath coming in heaving gasps as Tommy pulls him closer and closer to the edge.

“I’m gonna get fired if someone catches us,” Tommy murmurs, then licks a wet stripe up Evan’s neck, chasing the taste of ash and sweat.

Evan’s arms wind around Tommy’s back, hauling him closer. “Eddie’s running interference,” he pants. “Come on, come on, I’m so close.”

Desire burns hot in Tommy’s veins, overriding his better judgement. He speeds up his strokes, jamming a thigh between Evan’s legs, giving him something to grind against. His wrist won’t thank him for it in a few hours but Tommy doesn’t care. The only thing that matters right now is the way Evan’s breath catches, his eyes rolling back as he grinds helplessly against Tommy’s leg; the choked-off moan as Evan comes, making a mess of his turnouts and Tommy’s hand.

And Tommy is addicted all over again.

For the Character ask game: Alina

Yay!! Thank you, I’d love to rave about Alina right about now.

One aspect I love about them: I love Alina’s compassion and understanding. She stuck by Mal her entire life. She understood Genya and befriended her even after being betrayed by her. She accepted Zoya as an ally after their rough start. She knew The Darkling was wrong and perhaps past redemption, but she still felt some compassion toward his suffering and I love her for that.

One aspect I wish people knew about them: She is so inherently flawed, and that’s a good thing! She is so caring and good at forgiving people but she does not always see their point of view before being fed it. She falls into the trap of temptation. She loves her powers which is not inherently bad, but causes her to make choices she might otherwise not. Alina is such a ball of sunshine at times, but the other side of that coin is sometimes being naive. And I love her for all of this!!! She learns and grows and the journey is so satisfying. Her ending, though bittersweet, is very much earned.

One headcanon I have about them: My headcanon is that she is such an attention whore that all of her loved ones refuse to let her near them while they are working asdfhjk. It’s not necessarily that she wants to be the center of attention, but more that she wants to feel loved and love them in return and sometimes her friends are like ???? I AM BUSY ma’am, please stop trying to hold my hand for two seconds.

One character I love seeing them interact with: trying hard not to make everything about my ship so, I actually love her dynamic with Nikolai so much! The golden retriever chaos is unmatched when they are together. I think they are so alike in many ways, and bring out so much softness in each other. I also think they should not be left alone without supervision so Zoya and Mal take turns on babysitting duty and pretend to be annoyed but they find it hilarious.

One character I wish they would interact with more: I love the girl gang and I would specifically like to see more of Alina and Zoya being besties! They are different in ways where they sometimes rub each other the wrong way but I love it for that reason. They’d help each other out of their shells in fun ways.

One headcanon that involves them and one other character: Okay finally to Malina, my headcanon is that when they sleep Alina is the big spoon. Every morning at the crack of dawn soldier man Mal is awake but Alina is groaning at him and not letting go of him when he tries to get up out of bed. Once she kept him there until mid morning when they hear the sounds of little kids causing chaos and she tries to be more of a morning person after that. Ironically the sun saint never becomes a morning person.

After watching the movies for the first time yesterday, I can finally feel like an imposter no longer, and your request is well-received along with your fair praise, my lady lord liege. I absolutely adore writing about the hobbits and I shall have much fun with this.

The hobbits with a plus sized Hobbit!Reader (Headcanons)

Frodo

He is not considered quite attractive at all to the usual hobbit; his skin too pale, and his body a bit too thin for the beauty standards you can find in the Shire. For this reason, he never really expected to meet someone he could call his in exchange for being called theirs, and was quite content to being a bachelor for life.

That all changed when he met you. At first glance, he thought you to be very attractive. But, surely you would be busy fending off other people's advances. To his surprise, he constantly sees you on your own, in public scenes. Finally, on his birthday party, he decides to approach you and strike a conversation.

A few weeks later, and you find yourself spending most of your time with this curious hobbit. You are aware the tiniest bit that you two must look weird together, but Frodo's personality shines through and you wouldn't change him for anything. You tell him as much the moment he dares to officially ask you out.

Dating him goes pretty smoothly, but sometimes there are tiny rocks that get in your way. Whether the insecurities stem from you or him, it is a fact that they are there.

Frodo feels like you should be with anyone else, and you feel like Frodo should be with someone more knowledgeable than you. This initial obstacle gets swiftly solved after a much-needed conversation where both of you lie yourselves open to the other. Needless to say, you come out from it much more connected than before.

Frodo is not a very good cook; Bilbo was the one who mainly did the kitchen duty, and he did try to teach his favourite nephew, but Frodo was a free spirit and preferred to spend his days reading a book. Still, he tries to cook for you with the help of Sam, who is a surprisingly stern teacher in gastronomical matters.

Before the Quest, he loved lying his head down on your thighs, as their softness was bliss for him. Afterwards, the comfort is still there but you are aware of the sheer need that underlies Frodo's actions. Your softness feels like an anchor to something he thought he had lost by the Ring's hand.

Sam

The most conveniently attractive of the four hobbits, yet he is very shy and also of a lower class, so he does not have many suitors. He has accepted this fact as well as he could but his eyes still strayed to you whenever he saw you in The Green Dragon while he was hanging out with Frodo, Merry, and Pippin.

Once you start dating, you are the most adorable and famous couple in that part of the Shire.

You help him a lot to get out of his shell, and he really appreciates the effort you make, even if he sometimes think he is not worthy of it. Thoughts like that are not allowed in your household and so you make him leave that notion aside.

The lovesick glances do not stop throughout the relationship, no matter how much time passes. Sam loves you as much (or more) as he did the first time he saw you.

One of his love languages is physical touch but every time he does touch you, he will get so flustered and his face so red that you start wondering if maybe you should call a healer.

Cooks all your favourite foods for you because "someone as pretty as you should be healthy and eating enough."

Merry

Fuck, does this guy (hobbit) adore you.

Although he may seem a bit shallow, only caring about the external appearance, your personality was the biggest reason why he chose to get close to you and ultimately stay. However, your appearance did have an effect of him, let's be honest.

After returning to the Shire, he had lost a lot of his fat, and was pure muscle, which made him a bit conscious of lying down with you, thinking he was too uncomfortable for you to cuddle him.

Further from the truth, you cuddle him even more, and are the big spoon whenever he needs it, which is now more than before the Quest. He not so secretly loves it when you cuddle like this because he just feels like he is enveloped by pure love.

Should he hear even a peep of any insecurity that may plague you, he will make sure that you hear him talk wonders about you to other hobbits and big folk that he meets. You comfort him, and he does his due duty like a decent partner.

Pippin

Again, a rather skinny hobbit for the Shire beauty canon. He doesn't really care about it to be honest, he is just so happy to spend time with you.

Does not leave your side if he can help it. Constantly wants to show you off and will talk everyone's ear off if you don't stop him (preferably with a kiss).

Teases you a LOT by poking your tummy whenever he gets bored and you're sitting side by side.

Whenever you're cuddling, he will position himself on top of you and put his hands under your shirt, and just bask in your warmth, as he makes cookies like a very content cat. If you play with his hair in that position, he will start snoring in minutes.

After the Quest, he was even skinnier, which made you focus on your newfound goal: make sure your partner regained his lost weight. He adores your cooking, so he is really excited about it.

Bilbo

Your designated cook no matter what you say. He doesn't "trust these dwarves to make anything that would befit a hobbit." He does a fairly good job with what supplies he has during the journey to Erebor. It's not as good as what he would make at home in Bag End, but you assure him that the gesture just makes it taste wonderful.

If anyone is mean to you because of your appearance, which gets more frequent as you get further from the Shire, he will be on them like a hellhound. No one speaks about you in that manner, and if he ever did that, he would beat himself.

Whenever he is not complaining during the Journey, he will be listing in his head possible meals he thinks you would like. Ends up imagining your smile at his work, and Thorin is just wondering if Gandalf didn't make a mistake by choosing this hobbit as a burglar; why, he only whines, and blushes at nothing!

At what point am I just repeating myself five times? Anyways, I hope you like this! It took me sooo long so I'm sorry for that💕
