last song: a pyrotechnical brass cover of "Gli occhi miei" by my favorite brass band ever, Mnozil Brass. The original song was sung by Dino (yeah, for real) in the year 1968. Fun fact: this song was translated into English with the title "Help Yourself". link to the cover (the best part is arguably that it does not have lyrics).

last film: Barbie, at the cinema! (oh my god how long ago was that. My life has been pretty busy lately). I never have the energy to watch movies at home... I need to make time for them and go to the cinema! I was pretty curious about Oppenheimer but it was a 3h movie with no break so I gave up.

currently watching: nothing, as usual, even though I got curious about Il Giovane Montalbano and watched a few episodes on TV with my mother. I think Good Omens is probably interesting but I don't think I will ever watch it by myself, I'm waiting for friends to egg me on and do a rewatch with me :D

current obsessions: ahem... probably the Netherlands... uhhh I can't stop thinking about that country for one second even though I came back like 2 weeks ago. I kept on biking everywhere, I'm trying to find sambal, sesame oil, ketjap manis and gerookte tofu, I broke my streak on Duolingo but I plan on buying a proper texbook. I also want accessible and modern public transport, a generally progressive, queer-friendly and kink-neutral public opinion, clouds in the sky, less pollution and wind. And I will miss the linzenburgers by Jumbo. The good part is that now I'm near my friends and family now but it's so so hard for me to let go; I'm still shocked I have lived in 2023 for six months and now I'm back in 1993.

Last film: The Pale Blue Eyes (not good but not entirely bad either, it's meh I guess, or maybe I was just too tired to really appreciate it, but it was something to watch)

Currently watching: Ghost Files, probably? I have several TV shows I guess I could say "I'm watching", in the sense that I watch an episode or two every 3-6 months...

Currently reading: The Locked Tomb series, I'm on Harrow the Ninth, and I love it and I have no idea what's happening even though I've read so many spoilers :) (I'm also currently reading 4 other books as well, including LoTR, again...)

Current obsession: definitely not the locked tomb series :) And I'm gonna go ahead and mention baking, because oh man, have you seen what wonders one can do with just a bit of flour and yeast? How could one not be obsessed! I love baking so freaking much

nearly dies a bunch of time in the first leg of the campaign because he thinks as a combat class, he has to be up in the middle of the action. it’s only later when he realizes he’s better off as a support member of the party, helping from a distance and letting others shine, that he realizes where his strengths are.

aligning for him is hard bc my heart wants to make season 1 joel neutral evil but that isn’t rly accurate anymore, so maybe neutral good now.

I love knitting and reading (although I cannot do both simultaneously unfortunately), and have recently been very into Destiny 2!

18. what hair products do you use?

I use ogx marula shampoo and conditioner, and that’s about it 😅 Sometimes if it is very tangly I’ll use a detangling spray (the one I have is from Briogeo), or if I’m blowdrying it I’ll use a heat protection spray, but those occasions are few and far between!

30. is there dishes in your room?

Nope! Unless we are counting those cute little jewelry dishes lol. I have some to hold rings and stuff!

7. three words from your native language that you like the most? First three that come to my mind are Dietrologia (”behind-logy”): the act of thinking (often maliciously) about the undeclared reasons why something happens, esp in politics.Accrocco/accozzaglia: several things put together in a clumsy/messy way. Think of it as machinery made by Wile E. Coyote trying to catch Road Runner (or maybe as a heap of odd socks and gloves right behind your garage door).Sgangherato: could be said of somebody (a sloppy or maybe vulgar person) or of things (meaning it’s rickety, broken down).

8. do you get confused with other nationalities? if so, which ones and by whom? I’ll only say that some USAmericans think Sicily is a state of its own and that French and Italian are mutually intelligible. Ah, and Italy is quite diverse, so people living on the Alps look very different from people living in the South, but Italians are stereotypically seen as specifically Neapolitans.

13. does your country (or family) have any specific superstitions or traditions that might seem strange to outsiders? It’s not specifically a tradition but when answering the phone we say “pronto?” (literally “[is it] ready?”). Back when the phone had human operators instead of automatic commutation this was used to confirm we were ready to talk.

16. which stereotype about your country you hate the most and which one you somewhat agree with?Most stereotypes about Italy are partly true, but I hate when foreigners say that Italian = untrustworthy. Something I can agree on though is that nobody really follows the rules. In fact, it’s not rare to see signs saying “è severamente vietato” (”it’s strictly forbidden”), because simply saying “forbidden” is not enough (it implies there is some way to sneak off or avoid consequences).

18. do you speak with a dialect of your native language?I do and I love it!! I’m basically bilingual because dialect in my region is quite different from standard Italian. Most people in their 70s and 80s cannot properly speak Italian, and it’s preferred (seen as more informal and friendly) when speaking to 60- and 50-year-olds. Sadly, young people do not use it as much because it’s seen as unrefined (vocabulary is deeply rooted in peasant culture and it’s not considered appropriate to talk dialect in formal/refined settings). Most regions have their own dialects but some are much more similar to standard Italian. Most of those varieties are sadly disappearing, but hey, it’s what happens when a nation gets older!
