Amphibia AU
I'm gonna write about some of the ideas I thought up for this, and what generally happens plot-wise so I have somewhere to point to in case anypony asks what the deal is with these drawings I've been making. It'll be a big text wall, so, be warned:
The divergence point happens in season 3 (with maybe the exception of True Colors and Marcy not being stabbed, instead she's incapacitated in some other way), with Anne spending more time working with the resistance against Andrias. She meets with Mother Olm and gets guidance/training on better harnessing her calamity powers (the mossmen are hiding with the Olms and they help Anne out on this).
Some time after, there's a full battle between the resistance and Andrias + Frobos. This is it, a final push to save Amphibia, Anne's throwing hands with Andrias, everyone's giving it their all. But, in the thick of battle, Darcy shows up; she says that Andrias is a failure, and that from here on out, she'll be assuming direct control. The red moon opens its eyes. The Core's cambrian robots swarm the landscape, forcing the resistance to retreat. Andrias chases after Darcy.
Meanwhile, Marcy, partially amnesiac, is exploring the mental palace of the Core, interacting with its various personalities. She picks up on the situation outside from what she can gleam of far-away discussions. She finds out that several members of ancient newtopian royalty are leaving the Core to inhabit drone bodies of their own, claiming things like "an alien infant's body is a disgraceful host for someone as noble as me!" Those very same drones are summarily destroyed by the resistance.
Marcy realizes that she could use the same process to transfer herself into a small scouting drone to aid her friends on defeating the Core; though not without notice from the Core itself, which allows her to do so in order to get a fix on the resistance's location.
On the resistance's side, they stumble into Andrias and what remains of the Frobo army, still under his direct command. He's battered and injured, but after an initial scuffle he joins their ranks. A while later, Drone!Marcy finds them. The Core has them captured soon after that.
A great fight breaks out, but the girls are captured while the resistance scatters. Taken to the castle, they manage to break free, and rescue Marcy as well! But as they escape, Marcy catches a glimpse of herself in a tank. Unsure if she's the real Marcy or some kind of clone decoy, she joins the resistance, now regrouped on the remains of Toad Tower.
Now with (a still injured from True Colors) Marcy, the trio decides to pay a second visit to Mother Olm, to treat Marcy's injuries, and to confirm if she really is the real Marcy (she is, obviously). Now, all 3 girls can tap into their calamity powers! And right on time, because they'll need it.
The Core really starts to feel the heat around this point. Many former newtopian nobles went and blew themselves up thinking they were so much better than the resistance, those that remain understand that they're going to lose if this keeps up. Hell, they lost Marcy, and with all 3 girls under the Olms' guidance, they're starting to siphon away power from the music box! At this rate, they'll win without having to lift a finger!
In this desperation, the Core decides to let go of everything it once stood for, and for the sake of survival it merges all its personalities into one terrifyingly powerful intelligence. With the clone of Marcy primed and ready, this "Darcy Prime" recalls all the cambrian drones. The castle rises higher and higher into the sky. In this silence, the resistance finds out Darcy's final gambit: To use the Calamity Box to phase the Core moon out of Amphibia's universe and into Earth's.
Thanks to the girls siphoning power out of the box, the process is slowed, but not halted. They make their way to the castle while most of the resistance helps the population deal with the natural disasters that the moon's phasing is causing. There, the trio (+ Andrias & Frobots, for dealing with the drones) makes its final stand against Darcy.
The girls manage to overwhelm and defeat Darcy with a combined attack, and in stopping the teleportation sequence in the middle, the moon is in neither universe, and phases out of existence completely.
The girls safely retrieve the magic box, now sworn to be protected and never used for evil. The girls leave Amphibia, with a chance to return if they ever choose to, and hailed as heroes.
In broad strokes, that's it! That's the general outline for this AU that I made up, prone to change of course.
Told you it was a text wall...

Magic in my Amphibia Swap AU
Little write up of magic in the my setting cause there’s a lot at this point. Minor spoilers if you haven't read todays chapter (which will be posted shortly after this)
The Dark Arts Practitioners: Marcy, Maddie, Barry The dark arts at their core draw power from things in the world, aka spell components. The Calamity Stones projecting magic for ~7000 years imbued power into the plants and animals of Amphibia in different ways. They create magical effects through careful processes. Curses have the widest range of effects but can be undone and only work on living things. Alchemy is more constrained by its process but works independent of the target, more like chemistry. Rituals are the most finicky and also the most difficult to create. There are a number of known rituals but trying to invent new ones is a dangerous process.
Sorcery Practitioners: Anne, Valeriana  Sorcery is an art of bending physics, perception, and illusions to your will. It's a fairly poorly understood practice that was a secret of Val's order. Historically most practitioners of sorcery have been limited as they only have so much power to draw upon and could take years to be adept enough to cast spells without burning out. Anne, being the bearer of Heart has a much deeper pool of power to draw upon.
Druidry  Practitioners: Mossmen, Gardington, Marcy(As of this chapter) Druidry's origins is largely covered in this chapter and in the above note. Requires a conduit of some kind to really take advantage of. Like with Anne, Marcy's calamity powers allows her to kind of cheat the amount of time and practice it would take a normal amphibian to get good at it.
Calamity Powers Practitioners: Marcy, Anne, Sasha Specific powers granted to the bearers of the 3 stones powers. Includes things like Empath Sight, Ram, Trajectory, and Sasha's [redacted]. Probably do a separate write up for these sometime later. Maybe next update.

Amphibia Week-Day 5- Favourite Amphibia creature
The series itself has tons of cool creatures that make me a little hard for me just to choose one. However, i think i may go with the Mossmen.
Tumblr media
There is something so mysterious and intriguing about them. They are shown to be able to control the vegetation around them. They are like some kind of giant plant friendly bear. And considering the one Leif freed to escape from the castle may be the same one Anne and Wally saw in Season 1, that means they can live for more than thousands of years.  Another one is the snails, generally used as a way of transport:
Tumblr media
I find it cute how they are a mix between a horse and a dog. They seem to be very docile and loyal, not to mention quite intelligent. I also think it’s very funny how Anne had to read that entire book to be able to drive Bessie. If i lived in Amphibia, it would get one to have it as a pet and use it to move from town to town.

everyone sit down i am having Thoughts again
more specifically, i am having Thoughts about the line: "Does not sleep, and will not die."
Tumblr media
not only because of the horrifying implications that the core will run marcy's body to the ground, but because this line re-enforces how unnatural the core is. all organic, living things must come to an end. they all need rest. but the core doesn't. it isn't organic or natural; it's something artificial, man-made, unnatural.
which makes it all the more fitting that anne's powers are like a force of nature, something unrefined and instinctive, and all this reminded me of this post i made about the mossmen, and what possible purpose they could serve in the upcoming battle. their connection to all that is happening also seems even more plausible because of this:
Tumblr media
the flowers blooming as mother olm recited the prophecy caught my eye, and it wasn't until i went over my mossmen post that i realized why:
Tumblr media
because the mossman made a flower bloom in much the same way
p.s: unrelated, but this line also makes what marcy says in her themesong takeover a lot more depressing:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
you can sleep when you're dead, huh? but what if you can't do either...

Birds, Mammals and Mossmen
So, one thing i've always found interesting about the local fauna of Amphibia is how... Alien several creatures seem to it.
More speciffically, it's birds and mammals.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Amphibia's birds are enormous monsters, almost all of them are true Apex predators, and even the ones who aren't, are still huge, monstrously strong and dangerous.
They are mostly just oversized examples of their respective animals, but they also temd to possess one or two features not found in their Earth counterpart(be it teeth, a second set of eyes, or hair).
That part isn't too unusual. There are plenty of animals in Amphibia who are simply bigger versions of Earth Animals, and in several cases they feature additional extra additions.
But Birds are a bit different than these in several ways.
Tumblr media
First off, is that Amphibia has another kind of birds, one that fits into the environment far, far better compared to the other things that are living there.
These insects that very much look like birds.
They are numerous in diversity, a common sight, and again, fits into the local eco system far, far better than the giant, feathery, "normal" birds, who stick out drastically compared to their amphibian, reptilian, and insect companions.
And they aren't the only ones.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Amphibia has very few mammal species, but the ones that they do have, are very much like the birds, huge, oversized apex predators that don't really seem to fit into the local ecosystem.
Then there is the fact that despite their enormous size, strength and power, these animals are nowhere near as numerous in diversity as you would expect
On earth, just to give one example, we have dozens and dozens of different kinds of different predators species just within one category, which isn't the case with these guys. When Amphibians talk about herons, they talk about one single kind of bird, not a class of birds.
Frabkly speaking, just from how powerful they are, these birds should be dominating the ecosystem and have dozens and dozens of various subspecies. Instead they seem to be very limited in number, and isn't doing as well as you would expect for such powerful creatures.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And then of course we have chimera like monsters like Chicka-lisk the Stormbringer and... The wolf... manticore thing.
Animals that might be natural, but frankly look like someone stitched together different species with magic(Chicka-lisk in particular explicitly being a magical being), that stick out not only because of their chimera nature, but also because they are composed of at least one of these animals that don't seem like they fit in with the rest of the animals on the continent.
On their own, these animals would be unusual, but not completely out of the ordinary given Amphibia's bizarre creatures.
But then there are two other species that suggest a much, much different picture regarding these animals.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The Mossmen and the Shadowfish.
Both of whom were kidnapped/enslaved by the Amphibian Empire from their original homeworld, experimented upon, and then used for the betterment of the Amphibian ruling class.
They are completely alien, and frankly do not fit in with Amphibia's local ecosystem at all.
Just like birds, Bats, and the rest of the animals I've covered above.
In other words, i think that all of these, birds, bats, etc. Are what remains of species that were kidnapped from their own homeworlds and brought to Amphibia long ago. Whereupon they were experimented upon, grew enormous in size as well as mutated in various ways, while certain animals were the result of magic being used to create hybrids between local amphibia animals, and these imported species, creating monsters like the Chicka-lisk.
It would explain the lack of variety in these animals(As only a limited number of species would have been brought to the homeworld compared to how many existed on Earth), why there are two completely different sorts of birds on the continent that have nothing to do with each other, and why all of them just don't fit in at all with all the other creatures that call Amphibia home.

So.
-) The Mossmen advanced Amphibias (or at least Newtopias) medical technology.
-) And the “Shadowfish” allowed Amphibia to conquer death via their tech.
-) The Core is an amalgamation of Amphibias “best minds” and apparently created a possession machine & was demanding an intelligent Host from Andrias for a while.
———————
I got questions….
1). Dapper Mossman (in Andrias’ basement). — How long has he been there? — Where there more Mossmen but they died? (Assuming the implication of multiple when Andrias said “The MossMEN~ etc”). — When was Dapper captured and why is he still alive?
I think it could be important, like maybe Dapper is somehow keeping Andrias young (considering he’s the oldest character on the show I think), and perhaps kept his Frog and Toad pals young too. (Assuming the Frog is maybe Sprigs Ma/Grandma and the Toad is Barrel the Brave??)
2). I think the Shadowfish are not like literal fish people in the Amphibian oceans, but rather maybe connected to those creepy as all hell Jelly Ghosts? Just a thought tho.
3). Why was the Core created? Like, why would the “greatest minds” of Amphibia need to be stuffed, involuntarily or otherwise, into a robot body?
Like, From all other media, creating a container to stuff souls/consciousnesses/minds only results in the contents of the container going violently insane and or becoming contemptuous to life in some way.
And so far from vibe alone, the Core seems faux polite and extremely…. Idk, Prideful I think? Like in the Xmas Special it very much says “That was pathetic.” Like it thought it could do better.

I was going through this recurring background elements post when I realized something.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It’s very likely that these are depictions, or at least stylizations, of the same event: a frog presenting three humans with an ancient power.
We, or at least I, have been assuming that the mural in the opening and in the First Temple was the girls fighting the Night, but with last episode’s revelation that the Night is most likely an olm, that no longer makes sense to me. First of all, because the creature depicted on the mural is clearly a frog, or at the very least a toad; secondly, because olms are creatures of darkness, yet this creature seems to be giving out the fire (aka the calamity power) instead of shielding itself from it -
Tumblr media
- like the creature on the right (also looking more like an olm) is doing here.
I’m also associating the calamity power with fire, and more broadly with light, because the colors of the three gems (red, green and blue) are the primary components of light, and because light is quite obviously the only thing that can defeat the Night (the prophecy even refers to the three humans as “three stars burning bright”).
As an aside, light also works on the weird creatures in the basement, though I’m not sure if and how they are connected to the Night:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The only difference between the picture on the vase and the mural in the intro is in the humans. The three people the pink frog encountered were obviously Vikings, whereas the people on the mural look a lot like Anne, Sasha and Marcy, and might or might not be them. Even assuming that the people in the intro are our girls, we know there have been other humans in Amphibia before them but after Viking times, because of the walkman in Wax Museum.
So my question is: is it possible that the girls aren’t the end-all-be-all of this prophecy, that their arrival wasn’t special and foreseen, that they’re just three among many who’ve tried?
Tumblr media
Think about it. If three humans, and only three (those being Anne, Sasha and Marcy specifically), were ever meant to come to Amphibia and defeat the Night, Valeriana would have known for sure here that Anne was one of them. Instead, she only seems to realize after Anne passes her temple challenge and proves herself worthy.
Tumblr media
Note what she says, too: “We have been waiting for someone like you”, not “We have been waiting for you”. There was no telling it would be Anne, because she wasn’t the first human to try; but Valeriana seems convinced she’ll be the one to succeed.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This also explains why the temples felt so ill-fitted to the girls: because they weren’t made with them in mind. They couldn’t take into account their individual strengths and weaknesses, or the lessons they needed to hear at that point in their character arcs, because they weren’t built to guide them specifically.
Tumblr media
In The First Temple, Andrias mentions that the prophecy is being “undone”. I wondered why it was worded like that - how does one even undo a prophecy? Shouldn’t he want to prevent it, instead? And then I realized - the word choice only makes sense if the prophecy is already ongoing. You can’t prevent something that’s been happening for a thousand years, but you can put a stop to it - in Andrias’s case, by taking the calamity powers out of the equation and making sure they’re not used against him.
But then, you say, what happened to the previous humans who’ve tried fighting the Night? Did they die? Did they reincarnate?
Not exactly.
Tumblr media
It’s already been pointed out that the Vikings on the vase look like mossmen, and there are theories connecting Anne to the mossmen - perhaps, as a glimpse into what she will become if she can’t control her powers, or if she allows them to overwhelm her. We also know the mossmen are, for some reason, connected to bellflowers (and is that an olm statue, too?), which Anne was wearing in The Dinner.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
So ultimately, while we’re dealing with a cycle, it’s most likely not a reincarnation cycle. I figured I should mention it, because I did look into a few key concepts of Theravada Buddhism which Matt Braly could’ve been inspired by - but I advise you to take this with a grain of salt. Matt’s Thai heritage and culture is undeniably at the heart of this story, but not being Thai/Buddhist/Asian myself, I don’t want to misconstrue things and will ask if anyone with a deeper knowledge on the subject would like to pitch in or correct me on anything.
What I was able to figure out is that some Asian cultures believe in a cycle of continuous birth, death, and rebirth called samsara, which involves all matter and all living creatures.
Existence in samsara is painful and unsatisfactory, ever-changing but ever the same, and the only way out of the cycle is by achieving nirvana through the extinction of the three fires/three poisons/three unwholesome roots (these are described as ignorance, attachment, and aversion, and while they don’t quite seem to line up with wit, heart and strength or even stand in opposition to them specifically, I found the recurrence of the number three and of the fire imagery noteworthy all the same). With nirvana comes, among other things, full acceptance of the impermanence of reality.
Similar concepts and beliefs in cyclical patterns are sometimes represented, especially in Western culture, through the ouroboros -
Tumblr media
- which looks awfully like this guy right here, on Andrias’s belt.
We know Amphibia is, at its core, a story about change. Even though I don’t think literal reincarnation is involved, one could argue that a set of three people being taken from their homeworld, trying to defeat a threat, and ultimately being consumed by the powers they were supposed to wield against it, leaving a whole new set of people to replace them, could fulfill the same metaphorical purpose.
Why and how this happens in the first place isn’t clear to me, and again I’m not sure if Matt has been inspired by Buddhism at all - but it sure would be fitting if this show about accepting change ended with our characters finally breaking out of a painful, seemingly endless thousand-year-old cycle.

Mind
This is kind of rambly and out there and a bit conspiracyish and could probably be arranged better but I had a thought.
Tumblr media
In Barrel’s Warhammer, Braddock says that “Barrel gave his life defending a helpless village from a terrifying beast.” If the Green Toad in the ancient Calamity Trio is Barrel, this would seem to place the Warhammer legend and his death somewhere around the time the Box was stolen and the Trio split.
While Percy and Braddock are explaining the Warhammer to Sasha, Grime interrupts and claims “We don't even know if this tadpole tale is real!” Similarly, when Andrias reclaims the box, he complains that “...after a thousand years, no one even remembers our legacy. “
Tumblr media
(side note: check out the cool robe this totally cool newt has here)
In Olivia & Yunan, Olivia implies the Shadowfish are otherworldly prisoners taken by Amphibia’s ancestors. She doesn’t sound confident, but it seems as likely an explanation as any. Which makes sense, as Andrias couldn’t have been doing any otherworldly conquering without the Box. And later on, he says that studying the Mossmen and Shadowfish is what allowed them to create the Core.
His exact quote is: “A collection of Amphibia's greatest minds, preserved for all eternity. Studying the Mossman improved our medical technology, but it wasn't until we met the Shadowfish that we truly learned to conquer death, and thus, the core was born.“
Tumblr media
In the time since the Box was taken, the old tech in Amphibia languished; there was no power source to draw from. Andrias’s robot army was dormant, his castle grounded. It’s fair to say that The Core is a machine pumped full of minds and souls, so there’s no way that it could have been produced afterward.
Tumblr media
So if the Core is that old and was built out of medical knowledge to conquer death, and composed of the brightest minds of Amphibia, why wouldn’t Andrias want to stuff the smartest mind he knows into it to save it from death?
Tumblr media
So let’s say Barrel did die protecting a village from the Narwhal Worm. Marcy was stabbed through the chest and, for all intents and purposes, pretty much gone. If Marcy can be saved from death, why couldn’t Barrel?
Of course, this is operating on the assumption that Barrel is the Green Toad. I’m not sure if there’s ever been any word of god or anything claiming otherwise, so If there has and he’s not, disregard I guess. There was also little about how The Core operates from the little snippet in O&Y. I just had a thought at 2AM and wanted to vent it out.

‘Ivy on the Run’, and What Sasha Needs
So, back when I was rewatching Season 2B, I had considered a lot of the tiny details found in prior episodes that seemed to promise massive comebacks later on.
Tumblr media
I’m talking about the mossmen, who were alluded to way back in Wally and Anne, who were mentioned later with the mural and the sleepover episode.
Tumblr media
We also have stuff such as the ability for Anne to bend light into imagery, which I definitely absolutely believe is one of her powers that will be delved into in Season Three.
With all these details, I decided to really put my foot into the series and see how much could potentially be planted throughout what I once considered to be episodic episodes.
And that was where I had a realization.
Ivy on the Run wasn’t just a Sprig and Ivy episode. It wasn’t just some random episode for the sake of having fun with the characters.
This episode is where the show tells the audience subtly that Ivy Sundew is going to be an important character to the plot when it comes to being Sasha Waybrights’s Sprig equivalent, and I’m going to be talking about why I believe that here.
Ivy on the Run is established with three things in mind: to tell the audience about who Ivy is as a character, how she interacts with her family, and what she yearns for overall in the story.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The first scene showcases her personality through the environment itself.
She has a map of the Amphibian continent to track Sprig’s progress, she has posters that talk about finding your own path in life, and you can see that she is a very action-oriented person with the amount of knives and axes on the throwing board.
This entire episode is mainly about Ivy’s wanting to find adventure. She feels trapped in Wartwood because she saw nothing in her family but boring tea sessions, and continuously does actions that shows she’s antsy for her turn in the spotlight, for her turn to explore and conquer the world in her own way since she’s never been out of the Valley.
And here, the narrative makes sure to highlight the more rambunctious and feisty sides of the family too. With Ivy’s debut episode, we were never really given much information about her that wasn’t just one-dimensional tomboy attitude; there were moments where she showed genuine awkwardness over the whole courtship incident, but it wasn’t until Season Two where we were able to flesh her out more as a character overall.
Tumblr media
She hates the rules and regulations her mother does for her, she is very much okay with going against said rules if she believes her boundaries were crossed, she can be pretty adaptable in stressful situations, and it isn’t until the end of the episode — where she sees more sides of her mother being an experienced traveler — do we get to see her become more open-minded and excited for learning about this side of her family that she’s never heard of before.
And when the two Sundews went face to face...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
We get a parallel.
These episodes are similar in a lot of ways, but how they’re handled is executed differently.
They both focus on the wanting for communication and open-mindedness in a family dynamic, but what’s interesting here is that Sprig deliberately loses to let Hop Pop return to his role as the head of the house, while Felicia deliberately allows Ivy to win as a reassurance that she knows what her daughter needs.
In spite of Felicia’s strict actions, she pushes Ivy because she knows that Ivy will have to leave the Valley one day, and the ending makes a big promise that her part of the journey is almost ready.
Tumblr media
"Ivy, you think I don't see you, but I do. You want to travel the world and I get it. But you have to be patient, because it's dangerous out there, and I just want you to be ready before we go."
Of course, the last part is all about their tea trip outside the Valley, but this perhaps could be foreshadowing to another big event in Ivy’s life that will make her leave the Valley.
Now, let’s talk about Sasha and the theme of nurture in Amphibia.
With Sasha, we have an interesting arc going on with her. She has a promised redemption arc, but the thing with her is that the Season Three opening explicitly promises that she’s going to have to compromise with Wartwood if she ever wants to fight Andrias. And we all know how the town is slow when it comes to the respect department.
This is where we start to get some potential parallels with Anne and Sasha. The thing with these two characters is that they do make genuine connections, however the theme of nurture found throughout the story itself emphasizes heavily on the environment and the support system the girls have.
Tumblr media
For Anne, she was dropped into a place that knew boundaries and yet opened up to love instead of doubling down on punishment, and this leads to not only empathy but growth if Anne so chooses to become a good person.
Tumblr media
For Sasha, she’s not given that place to grow. It has been confirmed in the show itself that Sasha, ever since she dropped into Amphibia, had been imprisoned in Toad Tower for one month. One month. It wasn’t a surprise that Sasha took advantage of the chaos found in Prison Break, since it was a lot better than having nothing by being stubborn. She played it smart, however, that meant Sasha’s manipulative nature and wanting for control became more noticeable and a key to her own survival. And this environment didn’t get any better in spite the fallout of Reunion.
Tumblr media
Now take this angry and repressed teenager, who has no clue how to execute her actions in a genuine and authentic manner, and place her into Wartwood.
This is where Ivy Sundew comes in.
Ivy Sundew is not Sprig Plantar by any means; she is a fierce, no-can-do girl who loves adventure, fighting, ambushes, and won’t back down when it comes to being pushed around. Sprig is very emphatic but this makes him easy to push around if you look at him in Sasha’s eyes; we’ve seen him be desperate at times for the affection of people such as Sadie Croaker, and if Sasha ended up with him then the poor boy was gonna get chewed out eventually.
Tumblr media
Sasha has the strength, she really has the capability to do amazing things, but the major factor that she needs right now is a careful guide in showing how she could improve as a person, and that means she needs someone who believes in her first and foremost while not taking her shit.
This is why Ivy Sundew could be absolutely crucial to Sasha’s development.
Sasha right now has learned some tips from people such as Toadie when it comes to listening to others, but she needs more than just one person to make lessons about empathy and collaboration stick.
Ivy is not going to take Sasha when she’s pushy, rude, or plain manipulative. She’ll call her out, she’ll mark the boundaries, she won’t let Sasha just foot around her just because she can — and if you think about it, the Sundews have the same attitude too, they’re all fighters who won’t allow themselves to be pushed around by some external force.
And we wouldn’t have known these specific details at all if Ivy on the Run didn’t air.

As I suspected with my head canon. In Andrias’s conquest for power it would devastate Amphibia’s environment. The Plantars and Anne will be in for a nasty surprise once they find a way back. The frog citizens being the lowest members of the corrupt caste will be forced to work on the factories. Let’s hope Sasha’s rebellion force will extend from Wartwood and help everyone across Frog Valley.

If there’s any hope for Amphibia’s recovery it will be in the Mossmen. Marcy deduced that the plants way below the castle wouldn’t be able to grow the way they did without any sunlight. Had she seen these critters she would have figured out that it was because of them these plants were able to grow. It was because of their medicinal properties was Andrias able to heal Marcy’s stab wound (which he inflicted) with her not that worse for wear.

Andrias won’t let these Mossmen go so easily. If there’s any hope there’s at least this guy that was able to evade his capture.

It just hit me that since AU Andrias is a runaway prince, he and his friends are all going to be hunted down for a while. What if they have to split so that they all don’t get caught?
Andrias is big and recognizable, so he leaves his friends so they can be safe together. Or all of them leave each other without telling the others where they’re going so if one gets caught, there are no leads. They aren’t ready, they don’t want to, but they must.
Eventually, as time goes by, the three are forgotten. As more time passes, it is know that they must have gone with old age, so no use chasing them. The tale of the runaway prince becomes a myth and or forgotten.
Andrias’ face and name are forgotten to time by the greater populace of Amphibia, he can finally show up in towns without being recognized, no fear of reports to his father. He is an oddity, but nothing more, just a large newt who lives peacefully. One with tales of old friends who were in a garden together. Mossmen and battles.
The generations that knew who and what he used to be are gone, including Leif and Barrel.
AHHH the feels!!!
Yeah he, Barrel and Leif would 100% be Amphibia's most wanted and unless they went to Earth with the box they would be on the run...
And now all I can think of is if they find a way to get to Earth but only 1 of them can go and it's a one way trip so Barrel and Andrias say goodbye to Leif knowing they'll never see her again and then are stuck in Amphibia where they're chased, they split up planning to meet up... but the next thing Andrias hears is about Barrel the brave being killed protecting a town...
Him going kind of weird hermit until Anne, Marcy and Sasha arrive and then him doing his best to make sure these 3 won't have to lose each other.
