Since I was a child, I had to study the art of rulership in order to become a king, so I wasn't able to play with toys.

However, after I learned about Japanese culture and arts, I became interested in Super Sentai works as well.

And so, when I finally came to Japan, I saw children having fun wearing the transformation gear and having goods from the Super Sentai series.

The children would decide on transformation poses and shout out their catchphrases with smiles on their faces.

In this country, children could transform into whatever they dreamed of.

I began thinking that I was very envious of this scene.

hrmmm iirc, i though saku was cute n a sweetiepie, tsuzu was p real, itaru i was actually pretty 'eh' about! i thought masumi's crush on izumi was a kinda cute angle to go at, but i very much liked that izumi was kinda like 'ok kid ur nice but no. im an adult. go play nice w ur friends now.' i was soooo charmed by citron's 'serious-ish' moments that i was supes excited to see where his character would go from there!!

as for summer troupe, i was ANNOYEDDDD w tenma lololololol he was just such a little asss...muku was SO real, yuki was so fun w the little barbs, and kazu and misumi were so sweeettttttt

autumn... ill tell u what i actually really like everyone's voices in autumn troupe so that was funny as first impressions. juza was so <3! OMI.. I WAS ENAMOURED. banri n taichi both gave the impression that they had sooo much going on under those first glances. and ofc fav dad sakyo <333

winter....fuyu....i feel like homare and azuma stood out v nicely, they seemed to have a lot going on lol. tsumu seemed v meek in an endearing way, like i could understand why he was so hesitant a lot in early winter, hiso didnt super capture me, and unforch tasuku was kinda. kinda nothing to me at first LOL

ill put rookies all in a row here too, chikage pissed me OFF skjncdksnjf, kumon was such an earnest kid he so had my heart right away, azami was awwwww!, and guy...[ok everyone im gonna tell u a secret rn ok?. um. i never actually got to guy's chapter....i still have to read it i know.....] but for him it was also <3 heart emoji at first sight!! what a pretty man....what a nice voice!!!! and lore w citron?? i was intrigued!!!

AND OFC IZUMI1!!!!!! i was so overjoyed at first to find that she had her own personality, she was so funny sakjcnkjnsdcd what an icon <3!!!!!!

Mankai March question 9!

Happy birthday to the love of my life, Sakuya Sakuma!! Since he was the first actor in the troupe and one of the first characters we meet, let’s talk first impressions! What were your first impressions of the cast? Or just your oshi? Are they different from now, or more or less the same?

hi icha!! I just finished the anniversary event lol ,, three ヽ(´▽｀’)ノ for mankai!! (yes that’s actually what cheers on my phone autocorrects to). ummm I think this event was so sweet. I don’t have too much to say since a lot of it reviews stuff that had already happened and if I talked abt every a3 character moment that had gone in since the beginning I would never bc able to move on with my life. so this’ll be disjointed.

I liked how everyone got izumi a present individually and how they surprised her with the message book and she surprised them back! it was so sweet and izumi performing all of the plays they did was so good… like man. felt like it rly demonstrated her passion!

this is also the second time I’ve seen some other game localized ad red rover, a game which I’ve also never played. two nickels! (the first is for eng translations of poker face ft. gumi and prod. yuchaP that translate hana ichi monme to red rover)

rly loved the re-mention of citron wanting to leave bc he was being followed. runaway prince. also guy seems like he’s successfully followed him,, and tenma!! him being like. well I’ve got the best guys and izumi to back me up… even if they’re sometimes annoying…. no, they’re ALWAYS annoying as hell. and tenma trying to pick out a cute sticker from yukis collection as yuki thinks of how he used to get made fun of for having his collection… yeah. the way yuki and tenma BOTH have a moment where they go like … in the middle of bickering and r like. well I’m thankful this guy is by my side. it’s sweet.

I also forgot muku gave up track and field bc of an injury!! that rly sucks… in other thoughts muku joined the troupe right after spring which makes perfect sense since he loves princes so much I think the fairy tale style of spring troupe would appeal to him so much! whenever muku gets his prince role it’ll be an Moment for sure.

the banri and juza filling out pages was fun I think. the way they introspect as each other does their page is a neat detail. also izumi supporting juzas acting growth will never not warm my heart. I like to think she sees herself in him just a bit. sakyos message was so sweet…

the best part of this event I think is the interplay between roommates like. tasuku and tsumugi fondly reminiscing over like elementary school or whatever. and tasuku only submitting a “thank you” at the end for that! that’s so. Him. also gosh. tasuku and tsumugi’s gratitude towards like being able to act as they wish and with each other… it gets me every time

The Cheers event really was very cute!! it's a lot of reviewing but after one year of content it's really sweet to have a review of it all. It's so so good. On this event there was a SR for every single characters and the backstage are a little more detailled about how each character feels about Izumi and stuff and it's honestly pretty sweet. It's where Hisoka gifts her the cat pillow and i still have been crying over it ever since.

ANYWAY. THEM!!!!

I honestly love how everyone really wanted to thank Izumi and it shows also the impact she really had on their lives. When you think most of them ran into the theater by chance, none of them would have expected just how much this would change their lives and now they're growing in ways they would never have imagined and it's so much. And i love Izumi giving it back and performing all the plays, it's really so sweet and i'm just, so happy everyone was so happy about it.

and ooh that's so cool about the localization :ooo so nice.

YEAH Citron's whole deal being reminded is really neat imo, it really shows you just how far he's come by accepting staying here with everyone. THE TENMA BIT IS SO CUTE YES. He loves them so much he forgot for a second that they annoy him ALL the time. (on that note there's a series of backstage called the "One Day Leader Swap" (you can search for them) for each leader where they have, well, what it says on the tin. All of them are really funny, but i esp remember how Tenma's was soft because he had a pretty good experience, then came back to his troupe being annoying and yet he still smiled and went "well. I wouldn't have it any other way." and it's just. Them being annoying isn't a bug it's a FEATURE!!!! And god the Yuki bit too it's so much. When you remember how much they didn't want to room together too it adds a layer.

And yeah god, Muku… He mentions in the summer first chap that he wanted to be a track runner because it was like a hero of one of his manga and he was always bummed when he had to quit and now he has to cheer on his old team, probably feeling guilty of not being able to still be there and helpful for them and probably adding to his anxiety to not being able to keep up with acting… Poor sweetie. Instead he found something that really helped him. And yeah, the fact he just loved RomeJuli so much being what inspired him to join is really so sweet. Cheering for our sweet prince, always.

Banri and Juza's were indeed very sweet, and the fact they introspect that way does bring this layer of their growth being interwinded. Especially Banri who wouldn't have been there without his obsession with Juza and ended up finding something that makes him so happy instead of it all. All the messages are lovely.

Tsumu and Tasu are so cute on all of this sobbbsss. They're so good.

And oh boy. yeah Hisoka says that line when he's having his fever at the end of the Winter first chapter. It's because of this philosophy he got lured to the unopening door and why Izumi and him got locked here until Hisoka had his delirious dream about apologizing to "August" for something Hisoka has done. The next morning Hisoka didn't remember anything about this fever dream, including what he commented on for his stamina and stuff. It's really indeed… very worrying at least.

And god the Azuma line; bites fist that guy. man.

And SAKUYAAAAAAAAAAAA BABY.

The whole thing was just. so nice. I love them all so much. Events usually focus on a handful of people so it was nice to see all of them just, talk about how much all this time there was good to them. It really drives home just how much of a home this whole family became.

Chikage: “The atmosphere in Spring troupe is calm and laid-back. When I’m with you guys, I feel a little drained… Well, maybe this is what you call ‘family’, huh? …By the way, did Citron perhaps mean ‘I’m going to expose you, so prepare yourself’?“

Sakuya: Chikage-san is always so calm… and he really feels like a mature man! We hold a coin toss match every day, and the way he tosses the coin is really cool and stylish too!

Masumi: Chikage is… a spice-aholic. He always adds a huge amount of spicy-looking sauce to his food and just looking at it makes my mouth hurt… I think his tongue is weird. …Well, I’ll only acknowledge his magic trick skills.

Tsuzuru: Chikage-san is a mysterious person, isn’t he? He always has so many different stories to tell, and he speaks really well so I can’t help but listen… But at that point, I’m already being toyed with… I seriously can’t see through his lies at all…

Itaru: Chikage-san after entering the Theatre company is a little different from the impression I got at the office. Well, I can’t speak for others either, and frankly, I have a better impression of the way he is now. That’s because I never thought that that person would… Well, I guess I should keep this a secret just in case.

Kumon: “Everyone… Thank you…! I can smile so happily when I’m with you guys! I still suck at acting, but I’ll practice super hard! Please take care of me from now on as well!”

Tenma: Kumon really loves Juza-san, huh? I don’t have any siblings, so I don’t understand this whole sibling affection thing… But I’m going to make him come to love acting just as much someday.

Yuki: Kumon’s like a combination of the Classic Delinquent and Muku, with a dash of happy-go-luckiness. At any rate, he’s noisy. But, well, I guess I can praise him for trying his hardest.

Muku: Kyu-chan is a hard worker and he’s really kind. He’s played with me a lot since we were little, and he’s my cousin who I love! From now on, I hope Director-san and everyone from the Company will be able to get along with Kyu-chan even more!

Misumi: Kumon’s a hard worker with an earnest heart! But sometimes he works a little too hard, so I worry~. As his triangle friend, I have to keep a close eye on him!

Kazunari: Kumopi is~ Summer troupe's resident hype man! His smiling face is super duper~ cute, and it makes me feel so much better when we're together~. Kumopi, thanks for joining Summer troupe ♪ let's keep getting along piko ✰

AUTUMN

Azami: “I think the whole gang from Autumn troupe are good guys. …’Cept shitty Sakyo. Ah, but I’ll just say this. Wash your faces more thoroughly and carefully. This is the basics of skin care. I won’t go easy on anyone who skips out.”

Banri: Azami’s a real cheeky guy. Well, it’s kinda fun seein’ Sakyo-san being made fun of though. He’s gotta have a lot of guts if he’s gonna join Autumn troupe, so he might just be the right member for us.

Juza: It looks like he’s gettin’ along well with his fellow rookie Kumon. Azami is close to Kumon in age, and he has his act together, so I’m grateful to him as an older bro too.

Taichi: Until now, I was the youngest one in Autumn troupe, but I’m happy A-chan joined us and it’s like I have another little brother! …Ban-chan told me I look puny and like the younger brother when Azami and I stand together though…

Omi: For some reason… I can’t leave Azami alone and I tend to look after him. Maybe it’s just his rebellious phase, but I think there’s a part of him that’s not very upfront about his feelings. I hope he doesn’t think I’m bothering him…

Sakyo: I’ve known Bon since he was a kid. …He used to be cute, clinging onto me… but how the hell did he grow up to be such a brat? I’m going to re-educate him properly at this Theatre company.

WINTER

Guy: “Objective evaluations are very enlightening. Thank you. My acting is still extremely unrefined… but I hope I can grow with you all, little by little. I will be counting on you all from now on as well.”

Tsumugi: Guy-san has been helping me care for the flower garden. His expression doesn’t change, but his hands that handle the flowers are very gentle and careful. That is also Guy-san’s personality. Let’s start with cultivating the foundation, and continue working carefully in both our acting and gardening.

Tasuku: Guy-san will play the tsukkomi role for Arisugawa and the others in Winter troupe… That’s what I was thinking, but… Well, his attitude towards theatre looks sincere to me. Let’s do our best together from here on out.

Hisoka: Guy is an adult. He’s serious and kind. He doesn’t get mad when I sleep, and he transports me quietly and perfectly. And also… he smells good. That’s why I can sleep peacefully by his side. Thanks for joining Winter troupe.

Story Clear!

So I just saw the announcement about the EN server shutting down or at least dicontinued (hopefully just for now) and I might just burst into tears 🥲 I want to put my thoughts or rather feelings of the journy up until now on here to come down but maybe also as some form of comfort for anyone who needs it? It's very long and might have some broken english as it's not my first language so do keep it in mind please 😅

Anyways, I started A3! last year on march 7th because I saw a youtube video of people cosplaying Sakuya and Sakyo. At taht point, I already knew of A3! somewhere in my distant memories back when it was JP only. I decided to try out the game since I was getting bored of my current mobile games and the few reviews I could find of it were relatively positive. I had no idea just what a big part of my life this game was about the become 🤧

Btw I'm listening to some A3! songs right now, specifically Sakuya's 2nd character song, and it's not helping me 😢 So at the time, lockdown just started 2 days ago, which left me with a lot of time playing it and, I kid you not, I gulfed the main story down like it was the last slice of cake at home. I have 2 siblings. I think I finished it in a week or so despite it being only unlockable through leveling up, and if my memory serves me right, you need to be around lvl 75 to unlock all 4 episodes. As one can see, I was VERY invested in the story. It was just so....nice? I don't know how to exactly describe it but I was surprised by how likable everyone was. Of course I didn't hold such strong feelings for everyone back then as I do now but I was intrigued enough back then of nearly everyone, which is kind of rather rare in such types of games, no? At least for me it is, although I haven't played terribly a lot (Love Live, MLQC, Mystic Messenger).

I really like how the story actually continues through the events and how it alternated between stories exploring certain characters more (show events) and stories focusing on just them having fun. Getting to know everyone bit by bit and seeing how everyone grows closer to each other, not only within their respective troupes but the whole theater, makes me really all warm and fuzzy and it's found family, what more could you want?

Also, I really like Izumi, our dear MC 🥰 Even though she's supposed to be our self-insert, I found myself really enjoying reading her thoughts, observing her reactions to other characters' shenanigans (like her 'I do not see' to the members plan of faking their identity to bail Citron out lol) and just....her personality. Trying not to digress here but she has a lot more personality than other MCs in these joseimuke games and it makes her interactions with others not only bearable but even enjoyable. I'm not saying that this is what a perfect MC looks like or that she's superior to bland self-inserts. After all, it depends on the story, gameplay and other things. It's just a nice bonus I'm very grateful for. I mean, I got really emotional when Izumi performed with the other staff members all of the plays the actors have put out so far for the first anniversary. Her realizing she gained a new dream for her lost one just really took my heart, broke it in thousand pieces and then mended it again.

I also love A3! songs ❤ I did wonder how they would work in this franchise since it's not about idols but actors, though I guess there was nothing to worry about. I really like the duets because it's always a different duo and hearing them singing together, harmonizing with each other, complimenting each other, just fills me with undescribable joy. Of course the songs also slap pretty much every time. Even by limiting my options to 1 troupe, I still wouldn't be able to pick only one favourite (I like the majority of Winter's song tho, like Shoutai is just 🤌 and my sibling blasted Unmasked non-stop so I can't get it outta my head anymore). Gosh, I was so excited for 'Double Solitaire' since it would complete trilogy of the Hyodosakas singing together. I was really looking forward to getting all the songs and I was even saving up for Summer Troupe's 6th play.

If I had to describe the game A3! in one word, it'd be "charming". Coming to game itself, there are so many little quirks, that on their own aren't anything groundbreaking or big but together give the game its own flair. Live 2D is pretty common to see nowdays in games because it brings the characters to life through movements like 3D models. But I think A3! is able to illustrate it just as well, if not even better with their 2D sprites. Citron moonwalked by flipping the image over and sliding across the screen, Hisoka appeared out of nowhere by coming from above the screen, they do a little jump when they're happy, they go down a bit when they're sad. And that's just things with their whole sprite. The little drops when Tsuzuru finds himself in an awkward situation or is worried, the little note when Sakuya is happy, the hearts when Kazunari is lowkey flirting with Izumi, it's so cute! Or Omi's O.O face, Taichi's crying face (the usual one, not his face when he cried out of guilt of betraying Mankai), Yuki's done expression, H O M A R E AHA! They each have at least one personalized expression and also quote. Can you hear Kazunari's Yoropiko~☆, Citron's humming, Taichi's loud ass whining and scream of terror, Tsumugi's awkawrd laugh? It's brimming with life.

But also the UI (?how it looks) is joyful. The main screen's background cascading shapes changes depending from which Troupe your current character is from, the loading screen has sakura petals and a bird, the colors are very bright and saturated fitting to the overall color palette of the whole game, the little notebook during practice showing all the necessary infomation and a little sketch by the characters. It's just really charming.

As frustrating as it was, not getting halloween Tsuzuru after 110 pulls or Valentine Omi after 120, it was my first time ever understanding why gachas are called hellholes. Through my strong connections to the characters, their cards automatically appealed to me more. But the art is also so good???? Azuma is always looking flawless obviously but Omi's unbloomed Wolf card, where he is standing in the sunset looking at his camera or Kazunari's Shinobi card, unbloomed all concentrated on his panting and bloomed all shiny smiling like the fireworks in the background? Breathtaking everytime. I also appreciate it not needing multiple copies to unlock the whole backstage story.

I think I'm slowly running out of things to say, which might be good for whoever managed to come this far. I have to say though, A3! helped me through the pandemic. Being a perfect distraction to the world's chaos and more importantly my crushing schoolwork and worries for personal future. I'm a very pessimistic person but seeing the characters overcoming their hardships through the help of their to-be "family" and just being happy doing trouble, gave me a little hope and light for a bit every day. I came to cherish everyone, even those I like the least. I haven't felt like this since Mystic Messenger, which was also a game, that helped me through a difficult time. I can only wish to a shooting star, that it's not the end for the EN Server yet. While yes, the JP server is thriving and I could just switch to reading fantranslation, through my experience, my enjoyment considerably sinks playing like that and I wish to fully enjoy A3!.

A certain toy had become very popular amongst kids my age. During recess at school, everyone would be talking about it. As I heard my friends talking about that toy, I thought to myself, "That would be nice, I want one too."

But there was no way I could ask the people I was living with, who were forced to take care of me for something.

Of course, I knew better than anyone that I shouldn't be envious of such things, but yet I found myself feeling wronged....in the end, I found myself thinking to give up on it.

Note: I will take into account hair, color scheme, sprite poses, mostly outfits that are not from plays or scouts, and memorability. This is half an objective view and half my personal opinion.

Disclaimer: I curse a lot for comedic effort. I am mean because I am funny. No, you cannot disagree.

Spring 🌸

sakuya: you get what you see. a literal spring babey. his hair and color scheme’s a little generic, but he’s mankai’s poster boy, so that’s understandable. speaking of generic, his main pose is just this emoji 🧍‍♂️ his outfits tend to be kinda basic, but any outfit with a mostly pink top gets him bonus points. 6/10

masumi: okay his hair is elite. probably one of the most memorable character design aspects among the cast. his mole and eyes also make him very pretty. love my boy’s dark color scheme. unfortunately, points must be docked for baiting us with the emo fit, then as the story progresses, he starts dressing like the trust fund kid he is smh. 9/10

tsuzuru: i love you tsuzu but. my mans is so basic. if he didn’t have such a great personality, he’d be as bland as untoasted white bread. the saya of a3. his best design aspect is the fact that he doesn’t dye his roots. his outfits look comfy, but not necessarily eye-catching. 4/10

itaru: everyone who starts a3! with no knowledge of these characters has one (1) thought about itaru. sec sea man. so obviously there’s something appealing/good about his character design. i think part of the appeal is his fuck-all demeanor. obviously, his eyes and hairstyle are attractive, but the way the artists draw him gives him an air of not caring, which is also attractive in a way. his dyed tips are also nice. he looks kinda lame when he dresses professionally, but his casual outfits hit. especially the ones with light pink. 8/10

citron: although i’m not a big fan of the “character is foreign and therefore must talk and dress different and be funny” trope in these types of media, his fashion does make him stand out from the other characters who tend to have more basic clothes. citron’s summer, travel, and autumn outfits SLAP and anyone who says otherwise has bad taste. his hair and eyes are interesting, but his overall color scheme can be a bit repetitive. 7/10

chikage: i hate this guy’s fucking bowlcut. fucking salad bowl lookin ass. every outfit is the same turtleneck and sneakers in two alternate colors. his outfits are so plain. only thing i like is his casual outfit glasses. HOWEVER. that’s the point. he’s supposed to look boring and blend in because he’s a spy. it’s a smart design, i just don’t like it so im docking points. stay mad about it. 5/10

Summer ☀️

tenma: im yawning. you think tsuzu was boring? this guy has orange hair and i still find his design boring. that’s how you know he’s basic. he’s got generic messy shounen protag hair. he could be from any property. if i drew fanart of him, people would ask where he’s from. he either dresses like your slightly homophobic frat boy classmate or a grandfather who gets his shit stolen by the asshole kids next door. 2/10

yuki: he has the r a n g e. all of yuki’s casual outfits hit. they’re all different, but cute in their own way. to no one’s surprise, one of the best styled characters. though i like his general color scheme, i’m personally not the biggest fan of his hairstyle. it’s okay, but a little plain at times. but i think it suits him well. 7/10

muku: i love him. muku’s design is what i love about this game. you see him, and you immediately know what his character archtype is supposed to be. he’s the soft, cute boy. and if this was a mediocre series, that’d be all muku is. but since this is a3, he’s so much more than that. he’s smart, passionate, sensitive to others’ feelings, and protective. a3 does a great job designing characters that look exactly like their archtype, but having a much more developed personality than that. getting back to the actual subject at hand, i love his hairstyle and color, as well as his outfits. you can never go wrong with light pink hair. i may be biased but fuck you. 10/10

misumi: another great memorable design. his eye shape and hair style are really unique. his outfits also elevate his design. street fashion is always a plus for me. though sumi’s design is special in the world of a3! where most of the characters are just. guys. regular lookin dudes. i think that outside of the game, his design would not be as unique. 8/10

kazunari: personally, im a fan. maybe it’s cause i have an affinity for blonde anime boys. but his hairstyle is pretty unique and his trendy looks set him apart from most characters, even outside this game. and he has a pretty lovable expression in his sprites. his fatal flaw is that his fits are either a hit or miss. they’re either really cute or wtf. at least he’s memorable. 8/10

kumon: i love that he reminds me of an owl. his hair and eyes are very cute and his color scheme is great. and i think they did a great job making him look related to juza, but still very much his own character. but he dresses like your classmate from middle school that looks like a nike-sponsored highlighter. yeah, he’s the sporty one, and i like the windbreakers but... i cannot excuse his summer fit. also, i find his design a little tame compared to some of the other characters in the game. 6/10

Autumn 🍂

banri: i hate his hair. i hate it so much. i know in canon it’s nice and he takes good care of it, but it looks so fucking greasy. the style makes him look so greasy and it makes me mad. he looks like an asshole. i mean, he is, so it fits. if this dumb bitch changed his hair more often, i’d like his design so much more. you saw this coming; his love for cheetah print is fucking repulsive. BUT, maybe unpopular opinion, minus the animal print, his sense of fashion is not bad. why do yall clown on it. if the fit is fresh, the fit is fresh. anyway, he looks like an ass, but objectively his design is kinda eh. 5/10

juza: im sorry im DEADLY fucking biased when it comes to juza, but he’s so handsome. his hair is a such a rich, pretty shade of purple and his eyes are so mesmerizing. his hairstyle is so attractive. his face is so pretty. yeah his design isn’t crazy unique, but the simplicity just works. im so sorry im this man’s whore i didn’t choose this life... but i can stop being a simp for one second to say that he has a boring fashion sense. i mean it’s kinda hot how simple his outfits are but his travel fit is good-- wait a minute i just remembered the fucking sandals. docking one point. 9/10

taichi: okay shut the fuck up i LOVE taichi’s design. so eye-catching and fun. as i’ve said i love street fashion, and taichi’s lil e-boy fits are right up my alley. that shade of bright red goes so well with his fashion sense, making a really cohesive design. with his main outfit, you can tell he purposely dresses like that to be trendy and it’s so smart. 10/10

omi: im sorry omi stans but his design is kinda,, boring. i legit had such a hard time identifying him when i first got into this game. the scar saves it a bit. but... only a bit. he’s just got. hair. and a dad outfit. i mean his tits are huge, but i don’t think i can call that a character design aspect. kinda forgettable design. i don’t dislike it though, so he ranks higher than tenma did. 3/10

sakyo: im not sure why but i really like sakyo’s design?? the contrast of his light hair and his dark clothes is nice. also, megane rights. even when i thought he was an npc during my first playthrough, i really dug his design and thought he was memorable. i actually cannot pinpoint a reason why. i wish i had more constructive things to say... but upon thinking about it, he has a karen haircut, which kinda dampers my thoughts on his design. i like his moles, but i honestly did not notice them until the game pointed them out. 7/10

azami: azami has a damn good design. i don’t think anyone can deny that. the long hair, the contrast of black hair and bright blue eyes, his eye shape. all very eye-catching design aspects. and the street fashion style strikes again. the color scheme matches well with everything. this review is lame, but there’s really only good things i can say about his design so. 10/10

Winter ❄️

tsumugi: it’s so late and im so tired of looking at these sprites. anyway, tsumugi’s design is okay. i think his color scheme’s a bit limited and his outfits are a bit meh. he has a more respectable bowlcut than chikage, but it’s still a bowlcut and it’s still boring. i think the best part of his design is his eyes, they’re very soft and kind. but other than that, tsumugi looks pretty basic. 5/10

tasuku: tbh, i didn’t even realize that the godza member tasuku was the same character as the winter troupe guy in the game’s opening until the middle of episode 3... yeah. im slow. ooooooor... tasuku has the worst fucking design in the game. yeah i said it. come at me, but tasuku’s design fucking sucks. i literally thought he was a minor character until they forced me to realize he wasn’t. his fashion sense is... questionable at best. i look at that man’s hair and think he doesn’t shampoo. he looks so bland i could dry up from looking at him. im sorry but his tits do not make up for the sheer fucking snorefest of his character design. he’s so boring i won’t elaborate anymore. 1/10

hisoka: ya get what ya see part 2. i like that i can tell he’s the sleepy and mysterious character just by his design, but honestly, that’s a character trope im generally not a big fan of. so i wasn’t thrilled by hisoka’s design at first. but it’s effective. i like the hairstyle with the white hair, but i’m not too fond of his color scheme. his outfits look comfy and soft though. it makes sense, but it’s nothing too memorable if you compare him to characters outside the game. 5/10.

homare: ah, now this is a memorable character design. his hairstyle annoyed me in the beginning, but now i love it. it’s so unique and fun. and i like the purple. i also like his outfits. very classy. but honestly, most of his charisma lies in his face. i think that the pure eccentricity of the hairstyle is enough to put him in the top tier without considering any other element. you really could not find this design in any other media. fuck it. i don’t need to consider anything else. 9/10

azuma: i’ll be honest. im not a fan of long-haired anime men. especially the pretty, flirty types. i don’t know, i just don’t vibe with them. originally, i didn’t like azuma’s design, but now i do. i don’t know how, but i think it’s because azuma is just that powerful. his ponytail makes it more bearable for me and i like the way his bangs frame his face. he just has pretty eyes and face. unfortunately his color scheme is a little too repetitive for me and his casual outfits are a little boring. 6/10

guy: maybe it’s because he looks dead inside, but i love him. i don’t even know this character that well yet, but i think his deadass expression is great. the darker under-eyeline sets him apart from the other characters and i love how he dresses. i think his hair is kinda eh. i personally like it, but objectively, it’s meh. it’s a solid design, but ngl it’s nothing special when i really think about it. 6/10

a happy early white day to you, icha! I’d say for your princess treatment I wrote about chikage but. let’s be truthful I did that for me. anyways tsumugi and itaru as leads… eyes emoji. this whole event was just very sweet and cute so I honestly don’t have much to say abt it, only I was thinking abt chikage during it just because. I think he’d be such a fun addition to this event due to the whole like. mildly antagonistic vibes he has with izumi. in a good way I’m not saying he’d kidnap her again I just do think like those two would probably actually snipe at each other instead of being as nice as everyone is here. or maybe he’d be just as nice as well and the contrast would be charming… who’s to say. loved muku stepping down so some random girl could get the white horse on the carousel… prince behavior. suddenly remembered that as a kid I very specifically wanted to be like… yknow how in classic shoujo setups there’s like popular prince character girl likes initially and the bad boy she eventually gives her heart to. anyways that popular prince character in general I wanted to be a shoujo prince as a kid but like unfortunately when ur like 8 acts of chivalry are really limited to just like. holding the door open for girls in your class. which I did do and wonder why I was not super popular. all this is to say I think me and muku would get along great. itaru saying work is busy because staff got shuffled around… chikage? that’s my guess abt it. the real highlight of this event tho was the tasuku tsumugi itaru dynamics it truly warmed my heart. like… the way tasuku was gonna accompany tsumugi to the amusement park the way they are supporting each other after having not been able to for so long and the way itaru after a draining days work goes with tsumugi anyways. i like to think it’s because in terms of energy tsumugi’s one of the least draining people out there. and then the way itaru says not to worry abt taxi fare and doesn’t specify anything more because like. of course tasuku will come for the two of them. the way itaru and tsumugi make up a bunch of bullshit on stage and itaru just has like, a truly great amount of fun talking about the eye of the abyss and whatever. like! he enjoys being nerdy! he enjoys acting! idk I just thought the three of em in specific were very lovely? like the way that their interactions just felt very peaceful and warm. the way tsumugi didn’t think of calling tasuku to pick them up but itaru did because he knew it would be fine. its just… nice. also my personal headcanon is citron drew one of the acting roles, said “i refuse to be a part of the monarchy!” or smthing like that and handed it over to muku bc… the role of a prince/sir or whatever, I think he’d appreciate it

It was really nice to see Tsumugi and Itaru as lead this event, their dynamic is just so nice.

and oh god you're actually talking about Chikage hold on. hold on. Need a sec to have the brain working again. But yeah Chikage would be pretty funny in this vibe. though honestly after reading his backstages, this guy is a complete menace. "midly antagonistic vibes with Izumi" from Izumi's side maybe, the guy is laying in the most soul destroying devoted love declaration and pretends to be Izumi's boyfriend for no reason because smiling and going "well i'm joking of course. or was i.". I do NOT trust him with playing a prince being all lovey dovey with Izumi. and i would love to say "at least it's the first event since he joined so maybe he wouldn't be this bad" but then i remember he started doing those in his first backstages and i'm supposed to be normal. That said i think Chikage appears in Itaru's backstage for this event? i don't remember well. So at least he's lurking while everyone is being silly i love them.

Actually now that i think about it considering the Spring chap ends on a cliffhanger that is immediately continued in the main story, i wonder if it doesn't mean ODP is set somewhere in the middle of the Spring chapter. Which. yeah okay there you got me it would mean Chikage is prob also still antagonistic to MC and specifically not here because he heard everyone make a fuss and went nope. nope nope nope nope, without me guys, i'm here to destroy my brother not for this bullshit. I could imagine that just fine. So yeah perhaps early at that point he probably would have just be the mean bitch of the gang. Please help.

Now, about Muku. Muku is such a sweetheart 😭 and ohmygod. Prince Kiri lore unlocked…. I don't understand how you couldn't get popular with all of this. Though ngl now it's really projecting the image of Kishima gsnk onto you. Incredible. But yes i see it now, i think you and Muku would get along so well, i love it so much.

Tasu/Tsumu/ita have indeed such a nice dynamic. It's also really nice to see Itaru "almost quited the company because he could never be as passionate as anyone else about theater" is out there enjoying a good day with the biggest theater addicts of the company. Feels nice feels organic. I love Tasuku having fun with them, and yeah, i agree with you, Tsumugi must be one of the least draining people out there. Must be really soothing to hang out with him just like that.

AND YEAH THE PLAY WAS SO FUN. I love how Itaru improvises to save the play. It's something that stands out to me too since, yknow, Sakuya improvising when Itaru couldn't follow the script back in RomeJuli was the reason Itaru felt supported and felt the passion for theater he ended up feeling? so to see Itaru specially save the day by improvising on stage feels like a call back to that everytime to me. Like Itaru was saved once by someone covering up for him and now he will know where to be on the look out to cover up for his troupesmates no matter what. But i genuinely love how it reflected on this play and wht can i say. Itaru living out his dream of being a hero while Tsumugi is having fun playing a corrupted evil guy is just making my heart go bonkers. Oghhhh them. The way they were so in synch about all of this is really so fun to me. Nerd boys save the day.

And i love all you bring up also about their dynamic with Tasuku in that whole time. god it's so cute, they're all so cute.

AND PLEASE for the Citron thing. I could see it, and i would definitely see him hand over the roles to Muku when he can. One stone two birds, getting rid of the icky feeling AND having Muku be happy, what's more to ask.
