As much as I like the idea of Steve and Eddie immediately being comfortable around each other, I also really want it to be a progression.
Give me Steve who isn’t used to a lot of physical contact, even though he desperately wants it. He isn't used to just getting what he wants from people anymore. Especially things he wants bone deep. He kind of associates people giving him what he wants with being an asshole which he's trying hard not to be so it loops back around to him being afraid to get what he wants.
Not to mention the very real possibility of internalized homophobia. While Robin and Will being queer is absolutely fine with him, being queer himself is a different beast altogether. He can suspend biases for his friends because they're wonderful and he loves them to the moon and back. But whenever he thinks about how much he wants to play with Eddie's hair or how happy he feels when Eddie calls him by one of his nicknames for him, a voice that sounds suspiciously like Richard Harrington tears him apart over it.
In Eddie's case, he doesn't fully believe that Steve would want any of his usual affection. There's way better people than him that Steve could get that from.
He was mainly invading his space to try to get a reaction out of him before he realized he's actually a good dude. He lays off out of respect, but he hates it. He's always been physical with his friends, and he's come to like Steve a lot. But he sees a divide between them, a social one, despite being out of school. He doesn't want to be the one to drag such a pretty boy down into the muck of his life by being overly familiar with him.
This little dance could go on for months before one of them breaks.
I'd like to think its Steve who asks to be held. Like maybe he's just having a shit day and he's too tired to care about all the reasons he usually doesn't do this. His body aches in that way he knows is from not having had someone touch him in more than passing in a while, and Eddie is right there.
So he breaks down and asks if Eddie would be okay with hugging him.
He sounds miserable and Eddie has never had anyone ask if he's okay with giving them something as simple as a hug. He's not really used to people asking if he's alright with much of anything.
Of course he agrees and pulls Steve in for a lingering hug.
Its clear he isn't used to it, he's so tense and he's not really sure where to put his hands, so Eddie directs him what to do. It takes a few moments but Steve starts to relax more.
So Eddie rubs his back, pets his hair, lets him lean into him more. Its like trying to tame down a hurt dog, and he's sure Steve will bolt if he makes one wrong move. He wants to suggest they lay down, but thinks cuddling might be a little too advanced for now.
So he just holds Steve like that, and when they break away, he hesitates but chooses to be brave and tells him he can ask him for that any time he needs.
It takes a while, Steve has learned to subsist on minimal contact the way camels subsist on minimal water, but he does ask again.
And again.
And again.
Its gradual, but they both begin to gravitate toward one another. Steve no longer gently elbows Eddie away if he gets too close. And Eddie figures out where Steve is alright with being touched and in what settings. He's damn proud of himself for the nuance in that last part.
A few months into this new dynamic sees Steve initiating touches too. He gets incredibly nervous the first time, but Eddie seems happy with it so he doesn't stop himself from doing it again.
Soon they’ve hit the point of nearly always touching somehow. If they're in the same room they're sitting side by side. Steve plays with Eddie's rings almost as much as Eddie does. Eddie's legs belong in Steve's lap and vice versa. Steve is sure if he goes a full day without hugging Eddie he will in fact wither and die.
It doesn't take long after that for them to realize they’ve caught feelings. It does however take an age to talk about. Neither wants to ruin what they have, its so good and it took so much time and work to build. They work as friends and that should be plenty.
It isn't.
This time its Eddie who breaks.
Its during one of the nights Steve has stayed at his place long after sundown. The man is laying on Eddie's chest, legs interwoven, half asleep and watching TV. He's the portrait of comfort and when Eddie cards his hand through his hair, Steve makes this little content noise and it just slips out.
Three little words that make time stand still.
He knows Steve heard him, he felt him tense up. He wants to take it back just for that, but he's long since learned his lesson about being a coward. So he lays still and let's Steve process.
Steve who's mind is on fire right now.
He's sure Eddie couldn't have really meant that the way he wants him to. Its just wishful thinking projected onto platonic affection. Robin tells him she loves him all the time. But Eddie is still rubbing his back and he's gonna lose it trying to figure this out by himself.
So he asks, and they talk and they learn they're both kind of idiots.
They agree to give dating a try.
Its quickly apparent that's what they were meant to be doing all along. At this point it comes easily, naturally even.
Up until their first kiss.
Its not that they don't want to kiss, they definitely do, its that Eddie's never done it before and Steve has never kissed a guy.
Just like everything else, it takes some work to get right. The first time Steve had flinched a little when Eddie's stubble had grazed him, and the second time Eddie got a little overzealous with his tongue.
It takes practice, but they’re willing to put in the work.
Soon they share the kind of kisses that are easy to get lost in. They once spent the better part of a Saturday afternoon just kissing, with Steve sat comfortably in Eddie's lap.
Eventually they build up to more and that's when their patience and the lessons they've learned about each other up until this point really get put to the test.
Once again, Eddie doesn’t have any experience in this arena. He’d had daydreams a plenty, but he’s never actually touched another person intimately before. Steve has, but only girls and only so far. He thinks some things ought to carry over, but when they get to the part that involves stripping off clothes, he panics a little.
The first time they don’t make it very far. They want to, more than almost anything, but their joint fumbling wrecks the mood pretty quickly. They get as far as their boxers before they both concede and let themselves head back to their comfort zone, which is long makeouts. It makes the tension that much thicker.
For a while they focus on getting comfortable with one another in that sense. There’s a lot more times when one of them loses a shirt during a makeout session, more often than not the victim of roaming hands and needy fingers. They map each other out the same way they’ve been doing for months now, until the other doesn’t feel like foreign territory anymore. It helps put them both at ease, but it also makes them both so much needier.
When they finally do end up going all the way, they cling to each other for hours after. Now that they’ve been as close as they can be, it’s difficult to handle being apart. Eddie traces the various moles Steve has, while Steve does the same with Eddie’s tattoos. It’s sappy, and neither of them would give up those details under pain of death, but they tell each other how much it means to be able to be so close to someone else without being afraid. Eddie confides in Steve about how hard it is to be so far ostracized and how sometimes he wishes he were different just so he didn’t have to feel that way. Steve tells Eddie about growing up in a big empty house and how he sometimes feels like he’s just the ghost of an idea his parents had about what he should be.
They agree that so long as the other is breathing, they’ll always have someone who will hold them and remind them that they both have value.

Was there a moment in the book between eddie and richie that had you start thinking maybe there were deeper feelings between the two?
Like as in the earliest moment in the book where I started to go ‘hmmm’ on the very first read through?? Anon that was a long time ago!!!
Okay so, assuming I am 14 years old and reading IT for the very first time, without that much practice interpreting symbolism and without the world knowledge needed to make certain connections that seem so obvious to me now as an adult, and I’m just casually reading the novel having only ever watched the miniseries as a little kid… these are the moments that probably jumped out at me first:
For Eddie, it was The Dam in The Barrens (aka one of the most meaty chapters for Eddie analysis)
When Richie makes his entrance in the flashback, the first thing he does is pinch Eddie’s cheek. Then we get Eddie quietly observing Richie’s face when he’s being uncharacteristically solemn. Shortly after, Richie winks at him.
And then we get THIS:
‘Ben, Eddie saw, was looking at Richie with a mixture of awe and wariness. Eddie could understand that.’
And this little reference:
‘….Richie’s sometimes enchanting, often exhausting charm.’
And then this:
“Oh—you mean it was your idea, Eds? Jesus, I’m sorry.” He fell down in front of Eddie and began salaaming wildly again.
“Get up, stop it, you’re splattering mud on me!” Eddie cried.
Richie jumped to his feet a second time and pinched Eddie’s cheek. “Cute, cute, cute!” Richie exclaimed.
“Stop it, I hate that!”
And finally:
‘A piece of Red Cross adhesive tape was wrapped around one of the bows of his glasses, and the loose end flapped against his cheekbone as he worked. Bill caught Eddie’s eye, smiled a little, and shrugged. It was just Richie.’
This is all in the span of like… four pages, and it’s relevant that our very first introduction to Richie as a kid is through Eddie’s eyes, and that he spends the whole sequence inner monologuing about how great yet confusing Richie is. 14-year-old me definitely picked up on the ‘this guy teases me playfully and I pretend to hate it but I’m actually obsessed with him’ dynamic.
But I need to stop and meta for a second because this chapter is FULL of Eddie subtext and most of it flew over my head 15 years ago:
Before we’re even introduced to kid!Richie, adult Eddie reflects on, and admits to the reader, that he actually liked when Richie called him Eds because it was a secret identity Richie bestowed upon him. He also informs the reader that as a kid people made fun of him by using homophobic slurs, and that Bill was not one of those people. It is so important that the chapter which contains an almost absurd amount of gay coding begins with those two things: that as a kid Eddie had more thoughts about Richie than he let on, and that Eddie was not just targeted by bullies for his asthma, but also for his sexuality.
As the chapter goes on, it becomes very clear that when Richie calls him Eds, Eddie doesn’t always react to it. He reacts to it only when it’s accompanied by something flirtatious, a cheek pinch or a ‘cute’. This is the part that makes Eddie say he hates it, therefore it’s also the part he secretly likes. Also, when Eddie is watching Richie in that typical Eddie way where he can somehow make poorly taped up glasses sound poetic and delicate - Bill catches him in the act of staring, perfectly nonjudgmental. It’s important that it’s Bill who catches his eye - it connects back to the beginning of the chapter when he specifically states that Bill never called him a “sissy queerboy”. Bill never judges.
And then, of course, this scene leads right into Eddie’s recollection of the hobo sexually soliciting him, solidly drawing a connection between Eddie’s fear of sexuality and his fear of rotting/disease. Sandwiched between the real hobo and the IT leper encounter, there’s a short scene where Eddie tells Bill and Richie about what happened. Richie asks Eddie if he ‘knows about fucking’ and Eddie’s reaction is that he ‘hoped he wasn’t blushing’.
Then - THEN!! - Bill references gay sex, and in the same beat Richie says syphilis makes you rot, inadvertently creating a subconscious connection for Eddie between those two things. Sex gives you diseases.Sex makes you rot. Men can have sex with other men. If you have sex, sex with men, you get a disease, and you rot. It’s not a coincidence that after this conversation, not only is Eddie DRAWN to the house own Neibolt Street and pictures himself as the rotting hobo, when he eventually does encounter IT as the leper, it’s extra rotten and hones in on the blowjob solicitation… I mean, come on.
For Richie, it was the following chapter, Georgie’s Room and the House on Neibolt Street:
So like, the possibility that Richie had a school-yard crush on Eddie had already crossed my mind before this because of him winking at Eddie and calling him cute and stuff in the previous chapter. But this chapter definitely cemented it because it’s from Richie’s POV and there is one obvious standout…
“They’ll all pinch my cheek and tell me how much I’ve grown,” Eddie said.
“That’s cause they know how cute you are, Eds—just like me. I saw what a cutie you were the first time I met you.”
The SMOOTHNESS of it all. Richie has this wonderful ability to blatantly confess his feelings without ever being taken seriously for it. Can you imagine if Ben told Bev “I saw what a cutie you were the first time I met you”? It’s true, that’s exactly what happened. But would he ever say that to her at this point in time? NO! Because it’s very obviously FLIRTY LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT SHIT! But because it’s Richie and he’s cultivated a very specific persona where everything is done for laughs, he can just… make that kind of statement like it’s normal. Hiding in plain sight.
More meta things from this chapter that flew over my head 15 years ago:
First, way before the movie scenes, Richie has to make sure no one is looking before comforting Bill because they are out in public on the street and he assumes that other people would think he’s gay for… patting his friend on the back to try to get him to stop crying. Compare this to his easy physicality with Eddie down in The Barrens - physicality that is much more likely to be interpreted as flirtatious if anyone saw - and it’s very obvious that Richie is hyper-vigilant about being seen, publicly, as anything but straight. In The Barrens, it doesn’t matter - they tell Officer Nell mere pages before this that The Barrens is where they can all be themselves. Richie is himself in The Barrens, when he’s pinching Eddie’s cheek and calling him cute. Out on the street, he can’t even do something as normal and expected as comforting his crying friend without worrying about the potential ramifications of it.
Second, when Richie meets up with Bev and reflects on how pretty she is, he gets all flustered and shit. And although nothing here involves Eddie, we do get this iconic line and perfect insight into Richie’s behavior:
‘Richie, as he usually did in such moments of confusion, took refuge in absurdity.’
His immediate, instinctual response to this confusing, uncomfortable newfound attraction to Beverly is to… throw himself on the ground and comically praise her, do Voices, and generally act like an idiot. Who does he act this way around the most? You guessed it! Eddie Kaspbrak!
It’s also in this chapter that we’re introduced to Richie’s thoughts on the teenage werewolf:
‘The Teenage Werewolf was somehow scarier, though … perhaps because he also seemed a little sad. What had happened wasn’t his own fault. There was this hypnotist who had fucked him up, but the only reason he’d been able to was that the kid who turned into the werewolf was full of anger and bad feelings.’
At first it’s like, aw, that’s cute, Richie’s showing empathy. But later in the same chapter, when IT appears as the werewolf with Richie’s name stitched into the jacket, it hits different - Riche wasn’t just showing empathy, he was relating to the werewolf’s struggle with ‘bad feelings’ and the sadness of him being a monster through no fault of his own.
Also in this chapter, there’s a small bit where Richie is lost in thought about Eddie’s trauma with the leper, and when he snaps out of it and talks to Ben, Ben is lost in thought about Bev’s trauma (the bruise on her cheek). Oh the parallels!
Anyway, this chapter functions the same way for Richie as The Dam in the Barrens does for Eddie - it starts out by demonstrating Richie’s discomfort with other people thinking he likes boys, moves into a series of interactions in which he flirts with Eddie and Bev, introduces the reader to his main IT manifestation, the teenage werewolf, and confirms that he relates to being a monster. Like Eddie, he feels an attachment to his ‘monster’ for reasons that are rooted in the way he sees himself. The subtext is much more subtle for Richie and there isn’t as much of it, but it’s there.
SO LONG STORY SHORT!! The moment(s) in the book where I first put two and two together as a casual reader were the ‘school-yard crush’ moments of pigtail pulling and flirtatious teasing. That stuff is obvious. Years later, as an adult, I can see that those same chapters that pinged for me as a teen are literally OVERFLOWING with subtext.

Anger headcanons for Fallout 4 companions
I actually sent @zirawrites an ask about anger headcanons for the different Fallout 4 companions but then I ended up sitting on the idea for a while and decided to write some out myself. Been wanting to write again, so this is a good excuse. Not all companions are there bc I'm not familiar with all of them yet, but feel free to add to this! (also please let me know about spelling mistakes!)
Cait: Is angry a lot, and at a great many things. Her anger is aggressive and very strongly externalized, but not dangerous unless you happen to be something that's been trying to kill her. When angry, Cait rants, raves, snaps aggressively at people, says things that are meant to be demeaning or hurtful. She goes looking for fights and often gets hurt in the process, deliberately. She vents her anger very openly but it dies down quickly, too, and she will not hold grudges over petty things. It's entirely possible that she would break your nose and then invite you for a drink, because once her anger at a specific thing or person has been vented out, it is gone.
Codsworth: Does not really get angry. He can be plenty indignant, scoffing and loudly wording his displeasure, but his programming does not really allow for full blown, boiling anger. His irritation is quickly forgotten and his mood defaults very much towards cheerful. If he dislikes people, it is mainly because the Sole Survivor dislikes them, in which case he will be either icily polite or snarky towards them, depending. He holds grudges, but only from slights against the Sole Survivor, not against himself.
Curie: Had to learn about anger very suddenly when she acquired her new body, along with a wide range of other emotions. The first time she got really angry, she ended up crying and hyperventilating, frustrated beyond measure at both the situation that set her off, and her inability to get a hold of herself. She is uncomfortable with being angry, because she feels it clouds her judgment and ability to act rationally. But despite her overall cheerful and enthusiastic behavior, she get angry a lot. At mundane things - like her body not working the way she wants it to, or not understanding a joke - as well as bigger things, like the state of the world and the loss of knowledge. She rarely acknowledges the feeling when it happens, though, and pushes it aside in favor of trying to rationalize the situation and focusing on what is important. If she feels her anger is justified, she will confront people about it, expecting them to cede to the voice of reason. If they don't, she is as likely to disengage as she is to break down crying. Curie does not deal well with anger and human idiocy. She is very quick to forgive, even after multiple offenses.
Danse: When angry, will be snappy and short, somewhat aggressive but not violent. Despite what you could expect from a guy who's constantly parading around in power armor spouting army propaganda, he has a pretty good grip on his emotions, and doesn't take them out on his companions. He's not too likely to vent it out in battle, either, aware that clouded emotions can and will negatively affect a soldiers performance. If he needs to blow out steam, he will do so by sparring or training. He will be much less in control of his anger when around non-humans, though, and much more likely to snap at them and react to perceived slights with violence. He holds grudges, but gives people a chance to redeem themselves through positive actions.
Deacon: Is practically impossible to get truly, aggressively angry. Deacon is snarky, distrustful and deceitful, a trained liar and excellent actor, and as such he needs to have a really good grip on his emotions. He will play along, provoke, taunt, flatter, flirt and threaten his way out of any situation, and does an excellent job at not letting anything get to him. Or, rather, at stomping down and bottling up any emotional responses he might have because they do not fit his plan. It takes a lot to break down Deacon's emotional walls. It would require earning his trust and then betraying it in the worst possible manner, or seriously hurting someone he is attached to, and there are not a lot of people this applies to. But if you manage to make him snap, he fucking snaps. Deacon angry - truly, deeply hurt and angry - is a terrifying, murderous whirlwind of destructive rage coupled with professional, deadly competence. When he took down the Deathclaws, it was messy and gory and an absolute bloodbath. Now he has years of Railroad experience under his belt to top it off, and getting on his bad side enough to make him loose it would mean a slow, excruciatingly painful death, and no one would ever find your corpse. As for grudges, Deacon will hold them pretty much indefinitely, but be surprisingly cheerful about it. It won't stop him from working with someone, but he will make sure to be completely insufferable the entire time.
Dogmeat: Much like you would expect from a dog, an angry Dogmeat is a growling, snarling mess of teeth. He bites, and he bites hard. It doesn't happen very often, though, and mostly out of self-defense or to protect his favorite humans. Dogmeat remembers humans that he registered as thread before, and will remain wary and threatening around them.
Nick Valentine: Much like Deacon, angering Valentine is a herculean feat, although not for the same reasons. He is not easily provoked, having heard every kind of insult ever that you could throw at a cop, at a detective AND at a synth before. If he does get angry, it will be a quiet, seething but driven sort of rage. He does not raise his voice, doesn't rant or rave or lash out, but rather sits down and quietly, efficiently breaks down the problem and sets out to solve it, stubbornly keeping at it even if it seems hopeless. Valentine's anger is the kind of anger that gets shit done. In truth, though, you are more likely to disappoint him than you are to truly anger him. But let's face it, no one wants to be on the receiving end of one of Nick's disappointed looks. They are too powerful. Contrary to what one would expect, though, Valentine does holds grudges. It takes a lot to make it into his bad books, because he is always inclined to see the best in people, but if you make it onto his shit list, you're probably stuck there for the rest of your life. It also might not end well for you. Ask Eddie Winter about it.
Piper Wrigth: Gets angry fairly often, and like Valentine, her anger is the kind of anger that pushes her forward, drives her to take action and get shit done. However, unlike Valentine, Piper's anger is loud, outspoken, biting and very much in-your-face. She will rant, she will shout, she will provoke and get all up in people's personal space and yell and threaten and terrify. She is scary when she is angry, and you do not want to stand in her way when she gets worked up, because you will be collateral damage. Piper holds grudges and will absolutely drag your name through the mud if you give her a reason to. This woman knows the power of the press, and while her greater goal is the pursuit of the truth, she is not above using her skills for petty revenge.
Preston Garvey: Tends to internalize his anger a lot, and redirect it at himself. It does not show much towards the outside, other than his tone getting more cold, more formal. He will express disagreement, and put his foot down and try to defuse or fix the situation, but he very rarely shouts or gets loud about it. But he will often be angry at himself for longer than he is angry at whatever set him off in the first place, replaying the situation in his head over and over, poking holes at his own behavior and trying to find what he did wrong, what he can do better next time, how he misstepped or misjudged or failed, even if he really can't be blamed for what happened. Much like Curie, Preston is quick to forgive and trust again, eager to believe in people and give them another chance. Slight him often enough, and he will be wary and tired, but still can be bullied into giving people one more chance. Just one more. One more.
Strong: Is angry pretty much all the time, and proud of it. Anger is an inherent part of his personality. Perhaps a side effect of the FEV-virus, since most super-mutants tend towards volatile and murderous. Strong's anger fluctuates between a quiet, rolling wrath and an all out screaming rage, and can be directed at nothing and everything, depending on the situation, but it never really goes away. Surprisingly, he does not hold grudges much. Maybe he considers humans unworthy of such attention, but his feelings towards them range from disdain to begrudging respect, and leave little space for angry resentment. People are worth his time, or they are not. Simple.
Companions I skipped because I am not familiar enough with them yet: Hancock, MacCready, and X6-88.

Thoughts I had while watching Mulan
Tumblr media
1.Fun fact: Mulan is the only princess who's not actually a princess- she has no ties to royalty whatsoever and is only part of the official lineup because she embodies the traits of a princess. 2. I've never been to the Great Wall of China, but I feel confident that it would be difficult to catapult over the wall. 3. Does Shan-Yu scare anyone else? 4. It's very noble of the Emperor to not want any protection for himself. 5. Mulan writing the answers on her arm were goals for my math tests in college. 6. Little Brother and Cri-Kee are two of my favorite sidekicks. 7. I wish my dad would pray for me not to be single anymore. 8. Grandmother Fa is hands down the best character in this movie. 9. Mulan is upset that she's getting a bath and a makeover but I would gladly take a free makeover. Preferably from MAC.
Tumblr media
10. She definitely started the wave of bad ass princesses and most relatable. 11. I am also clumsy AF so I feel this scene with the matchmaker. 12. Fun fact: the singing voice of Mulan is the same woman who was the singing voice of Jasmine. 13. Even in cartoon form China looks beautiful and I can't wait to visit both Disney parks there. 14. I like how the town has a guy who sits in a lookout tower just for the purpose of telling you when the government is on the way. 15. Mulan: the OG Katniss volunteering to go to war in her father's place. 16. I'm not sure how her father can try and put her in her "place" when he's known her for sixteen years and knows how independent she is. 17. I wish I could cut my hair like Mulan cuts hers with a sword and also look that good with a bob.
Tumblr media
18. But also she had great hair so it's kind of tragic. 19. Eddie Murphy is the greatest thing to happen to Disney since Robin Williams. Get this man into the Disney Legends stat. 20. Why did the ancestors choose this prayer to answer instead of allowing her not to be clumsy for the day? 21. Are we going to ignore the fact that it seemed like somehow Mushu got someone decapitated? 22. If this statue was supposed to wake up, does that mean Mushu killed the Great Stone Dragon? 23. Mushu translating for Cri-Kee is giving me major R2D2 and C3PO vibes. Or Han and Chewie. Or anyone who has this type of translation relationship. 24. Have I mentioned that Shan-Yu is scary? 25. Mulan practicing her "man" voice is what I sound like when I try to sing in lower keys. 26. Khan is one of the prettiest Disney horses out there and I want him. 27. DISHONOR ON YOUR COW.
Tumblr media
28. Cracks me up every time. 29. With the advice Mushu originally gives, I'm surprised no one punched Mulan in the face. 30. It should bother me that the men in Disney movies increase in handsomeness because they ARE cartoons, but it doesn't. They're hot. Sue me. 31. Why is Mulan's armor different than everyone else's? 32. Mulan thought of everything from cutting her hair to looking like a man but she forgot to think of a name. 33. I would love for someone to wake me up with a happy face of eggs and bacon. 34. Mushu is a great motivational speaker and I need him in my life. 35. I feel like since the Huns have already invaded they don't really have time to train warriors but okay. 36. I say this about one song every post, and "I'll Make a Man Out of You" is this movie's: are you even a Disney fan if you don't belt this out at the top of your lungs whenever it comes on?
Tumblr media
37. "Did they send me daughters when I asked for sons", "I'll make a man out of you" this song is just full of metaphors about Mulan. 38. YOU MUST BE AS SWIFT AS A COURSING RIVER. 39. The music overtook me again. I'm back. 40. Mulan not doing well in the first half of this is what I look like at the gym. 41. Shan-Yu is low key plotting to kill a child and he's just so evil. 42. I would not wanting to go swimming with naked men, either, Mulan. Unless that pool was filled with Zac Efron, Idris Elba, and Stephen Amell. 43. It's nice that Mulan likes Shang even though he's been so tough on her. 44. This scene change from "A Girl Worth Fighting For" to the ravaged camp and dead soldiers is such a quick transition from happy to depressing and I am not here for it. 45. Does Shang automatically become the General or does lineage not matter? 46. I still would like to know what exactly Mushu did to shoot off the canon that gave away their location. 47. Mulan picked up Mushu but not Cri-Kee even though Cri-Kee is too small to run after them. 48. I'm not sure if I'm more scared of the Huns, Shan-Yu himself, or Hayabusa (his falcon). 49. For those wondering, no I did not look up the name of the falcon. I am just full of Disney knowledge. 50. Mulan has excellent war strategy for never being in the army. 51. Can we pause for a second and look at how beautifully filmed this scene was?
Tumblr media
52. Even the avalanche. God I love animation. 53. Knowing all the animals survive this does nothing to lessen my anxiety about them getting crushed by the snow. 54. Honestly Mulan has some strength. I would've passed out from a paper cut, let alone a sword going through me. 55. I never noticed that the doctor probably told Shang that Mulan was a woman before he went in the tent. 56. Taking her hair down does not prove that she's a woman. Shang has long hair.
Tumblr media
57. Mulan is way too hard on herself. I can barely get out of bed let alone impersonate my father for war. 58. How on earth did the Huns possibly survive that avalanche. 59. "They popped out of the snow! Like daisies!" Mushu shares my sentiment. 60. How does Shang know Mulan's name? 61. Honestly, I'm with Shang. There's a big different between trusting her and trusting Ping. She lied to him the entire time. 62. Where did they get those dresses to dress up in? 63. Chien Po saving the Emperor gives me life. 64. How did Mulan get her shoe back after throwing it at Shan Yu? 65. These are the questions that keep me up at night. 66. Mushu and Cri-Kee just made a Batman and Robin joke and I've never laughed so hard or loved Disney so much. 67. Mulan getting the sword back from Shan Yu was awesome.
Tumblr media
68. But I'll be honest, shooting a firework into someone is a pretty violent death. 69. Chi Fu yelling at Mulan after she just SAVED CHINA is too much. 70. The Emperor gets it. She literally saved the country she should be bowed to. 71. But really, who turns down a position with the Emperor? She has guts. 72. "You fight good", an accurate depiction of me trying to flirt. 73. The Emperor scolding Shang for not being with Mulan is fabulous. I need him to go yell at all the guys that have turned me down. 74. "Would you like to stay forever" I need more Grandmother Fa and so did this movie.
