For someone who rereads Kabuto's sections in the manga fairly regularly you wouldn't believe the amount of shit I just don't know about this guy.
#writing fanfic is hard#characterization is hard#not to be too whiny ultimately it truly doesn't matter#and I guess that's part of art generally#always chasing after the thing you're trying to say and unable to really spit it out#and looking at other people's stuff and feeling like they’ve got their shit more together#always a step behind always doing something wrong#could be more in character#could be more genuine#could be more creative#ultimately it's whatever I can give it#and what I can give always feels so lacking#not just in comparison to others#but a sentence coming out half formed#like trying to speak in a language you're barely fluent in#everyone else can just see the pointless stammering but I'm trying to say something#not even something beautiful just something that makes sense#fanfic thoughts

I hope this isn't weird but I've been reading this by @batmanisagatewaydrug and I had like the sudden, strongest urge to make art properly for the first time in ages, so uhhhh have some Jessie (or Jess? Can I call her Jess because I love her?) who is a terrible wet cat of a woman!
I wanted to get this done fast and human anatomy is not my forte so I traced a picture of Natalie in the City, who's a fashion blogger and has some cute fits, though no supervillain ones as far as I'm aware :3

#juney.txt#it's not a show i hate but wow the writing just isn't there#there's a whole lot of#shit just arbitrarily happens. we're doing this emotional scene where we SUBTLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:tm: hint at lore or character development#uhhhhh just because the writer says so i guess. it doesn't really feel natural or properly built to it usually just kinda happens.#there are moments it *doesn't* feel like that. the kinger and pomni stuff comes to mind as a rare exception#but for the most part it feelsss. cobbled together. inelegant.#half of episode one is just characters going ''huh?? what??? what is happening i don't understand???''#and it's usually to things the audience has figured out the general gist of within two seconds of seeing it. it's very awkward#idk i'm too sleep deprived to put my criticisms more concretely and into words. hence putting all this in the tags#writing is hard. the team behind the show just kinda don't have a grasp on what to do with it.#everything else about the show is technically competent#editing. cinnamon topography. animation. sound design. lighting and colour.#acting is a little rough but to be fair. like i said they're not working with the best writing#and also find me literally any piece of media from the past ten years with good acting#it's a dying art i tells ya

Wait why am I actually completely captivated by the tucao commentary streamer addition to Chiyo’s character in the new nozaki-kun live action adaptation 🤔 like I don’t know if it’s a great or terrible change yet but man is it bold & intriguing and I kinda have to respect the sheer guts of starting with a frame-by-frame faithful recreation of the manga source material and then just casually tossing in this fundamental shift in both relationship dynamics & Sakura/Qiandai as a character mid-episode 😭

#osc#object shows#tpot#twonut#tpot two#bfdi donut#Q-z art#couldn't find my old post of this my guess is cause i deleted it.#the distance of this drawing and what i draw now almost shows a huge shift in interest#and what kind of dynamics im inlove with now#this work still holds alot of value in my heart. because it reminds me of simpler times#admittedly i was alot happier than i am as of now#that damn pudding was my magnum opus#though im definitely the inventor and i feel no.1 fan of rootyshine (no competition ofc). it almost shows to any ogs who've followed my twt#- or tumblr. kinda got to see how much i grew as an artist. and how I'll continue to grow. even now im still learning#twonut was my start in loving rarepairs. and rootyshine is as if right now. my very favorite. my no.1 pick even#fun fact i used to switch around with hc two as tsmasc or tsfemme. really i was never consistent#theyre dynamic to me was something along the lines of. “god x some guy” kinda thing#it was funny. it was simple. and it was everything i could've ever needed at the time#quite alot. as seen in the pilot. she also seems like someone who can get very emotional in a sense. not in a way where she only cries#but generally shes very strong when it comes to expressing how she feels. and despite being someone who people rely on alot. aswell as#deeply look up to. shes flawed in how she carries herself#and that speaks to me alot. its what made me fall inlove with her character. even if it isnt something thats expressed in the pilot all much#as for shiny shes someone who almost parallels rooty in a way. shes also someone who holds herself to a high expectation.#almost to a point where she can feel diminished when she cant control how well she does. and can also be emotional with how she carries -#- herself. though she seems like someone who has a harder time really expressing it. shes has more restraint than rooty i feel#but that restraint comes with a consequence. she feels like someone. (even if the pilot showed she was just under pressure) -#that can have trouble when it comes to actually expressing certain emotions (maybe when it comes to apologizing or admitting her faults)#and with that. its one example of how they clash. and i could go on and on.#*first text i went one was about rooty. dunno what happened the part that specified it was abt might've gotten deleted. idk.
