summary: charles has one rule for you, don’t date his teammate. he doesn’t want his little sister infringing, but both you and carlos can’t help falling for each other. so what harm does a little soft launch do? well, a failed soft launch. (side note: carlos watches game of thrones and i love game of thrones, so there’s some content like that in here as well.)

Being the youngest Leclerc sibling came with its benefits. Like being able to watch your brothers race, meeting lovely fans, having your own amazing fans, and getting to travel across the world. Opportunities were endless for you. Magazines wanted photo shoots, people wanted interviews, you were lucky really.

The only con? Having to look at Carlos Sainz Jr. every day, and not be able to do anything about your crush.

When Carlos joined Charles in Ferrari in 2021, Charles made a point to forbid you from dating him, just like Arthur did with his friends. Which you figured was fine, until you met Carlos.

He was such a gentleman, pulling your chair out for you, getting you a drink when you wanted one, making sure you were comfortable in the paddock, and making sure your headphones felt good before races.

Carlos experienced something very similar. Charles took him aside an hour before he was to meet you, and told him that you were off limits. He didn’t want a relationship with his younger sister to ruin such a good team, god forbid the relationship be messy and end horribly.

But lucky for you and Carlos, your relationship was perfect. No one knew, and you intended to keep it that way. That was until you were spotted together at dinner after his win in Singapore. People couldn’t fathom what was going on. The ‘young, innocent, law degree leclerc’ dating Carlos Sainz? Her brothers teammate??

Arthur had his suspicions. The way that you were on your phone at family dinners, smiling and blushing, was enough of a sign for him. Charles, oblivious as always, had no idea. And Arthur wasn’t a snitch, you got yourself in this, you could deal with Charles on your own.

After about three months of privately dating, that article came out. So, you both decided to soft launch your relationship. Surely Charles couldn’t be all that mad. Carlos knew from the first time he met you, that he wanted to spend his life with you. Cliché? Sure. But your demeanor, sarcasm, kindness, and the way you held yourself was enough to make him want to drop to his knees.

“Do you think I should post this?” you asked Carlos, showing him a picture of the two of you, but not noticeably him.

“Yeah, you can’t even tell it’s me.” Carlos looked at you, head on his chest so he could see your phone.

Post-sex cuddles were very important, you even said ‘I need them to survive. Don’t laugh at me!’ They were intimate, yet sweet and calming.

“Okay. I’m gonna post it with these other two…” you typed a caption and posted it, groaning in Carlos’ sheets as he laughed, running his fingers through your hair.

“It’ll be okay, amor.” he kissed your temple, both of you falling back to your cuddles as you drifted to sleep as your post got attention.

Soft launching was a good idea, in theory. You both thought it was the perfect way to announce your relationship, but not with Charles calling you every ten minutes and blowing up your messages to find out who the guy was in your photo on Instagram.

You sighed as your phone started ringing for the eighth time during this Game of Thrones episode. You and Carlos sat by each other, watching your show. Game of Thrones time, was your guys’ time to disconnect, not be on your phones, and enjoy the show and each other. Not a time to deal with a protective older brother.

Looking down at your phone, you saw the picture of you and Charles as he called again, “I should probably just answer. He’s not gonna stop until I answer.” Carlos got up, gave you a kiss and started walking to the kitchen, “Answer him, hermosa. I’ll go get more wine.” As Carlos went to the kitchen, your thumb hit the ‘accept’ button and you put your phone up to your ear.

“Pourquoi ne m'as-tu pas répondu ? Je pensais que tu étais mort ou quelque chose comme ça ! Qu'est-ce que c'est, y/n ?!”(why have you not been answering me? i thought you died or something! what the hell, y/n?!) Charles was shouting through the phone, you could tell he was worried and pissed at the same time.

“Je suis désolé, Charles. J'étais occupé. What’s up?” (i’m sorry, charles. i was busy.)

Charles sighed on the other side of the phone as he sat down at his barstool in his kitchen, “Please, just tell me who this guy is. I wont get mad, I swear. I don’t even care who it is, I just want to make sure he’s a good guy.”

Carlos made eye contact with you as he sat down beside you, whispering “If you want to tell him, you can, amor.” You nodded, taking a deep breath, “Carlos.” You said. One word. One name that brought fear through Charles. Carlos?! His teammate.

“What do you mean ‘Carlos’?” Charles asked, his voice suddenly too calm. “Carlos….I’m dating Carlos.” you stared at Carlos as he went wide eyed, Charles silent on the other line.

“Charles? Are you there?” you heard shuffling, Carlos handing you your wine as Charles cleared his throat.

“Okay. Um…alright. I gotta go, Y/N. Love you.” Charles hung up, leaving you staring at the glass in your hands.

“What happened? Are you okay?” Carlos asked you, brushing a strand of your hair behind your ear, “He didn’t really say anything when I told him. Just ‘Okay, alright, I gotta go, Love you.’ and then hung up.”

Carlos sucked his lips in, placing his hand on your neck, making you lean into his touch. You fell back into his sofa, clinging to his side, Carlos turning Game of Thrones back on and pulling the blanket over you two.

He wasn’t sure what it would take to convince Charles that this wasn’t a fling. But he would try everything.

After Carlos’ post, you freaked out. Of course, he asked you first, and double checked, and triple checked. You wanted everyone to know that you guys were dating. The only worry was ‘what would Charles do/think’?

Both of you had talked to Charles since the call a few days ago. Charles asked Carlos when he wanted to train again, and Charles checked on you everyday.

Arthur didn’t care. He was worried, at first. He thought maybe Carlos wouldn’t treat you like a princess, like you deserved to be treated. Carla told Arthur that you couldn’t have a better boyfriend.

When Carlos posted, Carla called you immediately, asking for details. Like when you started dating, the first date, did Charles know? And you trusted Carla with your life. The girl knew how to listen, too.

Lorenzo wasn’t too bothered. He knew Carlos, knew he was a good guy, and accepted it fairly fast. He also wanted you to be treated well, it’s what you deserved.

Charles wanted the same thing. He looked out for you the most. The guys you dated had to pass a test in Charles’ books. They needed to be kind, funny, honest, loyal, a gentleman, a family guy, good goals, and they needed to love you. And Charles ticked all of those off when he saw that post. He knew Carlos more than a lot of people.

Carlos was kind, loyal, and honest. He never lied to Charles, never broke a promise, and was kind to everyone. The man was also quite funny. He knew he could be a gentleman, he saw him with his last girlfriend three years ago. Carlos was a huge family guy, and had good goals. And obviously, he loved you. Charles decided he had no reason to be mad. You two were in love, and he needed to accept that.

When you called him, you were nervous. Carlos had went out for his morning run, which you usually joined him on. But you wanted to talk to Charles. It only rang three times before he picked up.

“Hello?” your brother groggy voice came through your phone speaker, which was sat on the counter as you made coffee.

“Hey. Can you talk for a minute?” stirring your coffee, you picked up your phone to hold in one hand.

“Yeah. What’s up?”

“Are you mad at me? For dating Carlos? Because we aren’t breaking up if you are. You’re just going to have to deal with it! Charles, I love him more than anyone-“ Charles cut off your rambling.

“Y/N, stop. I’m not mad. Its okay.” he sat up in his bed, looking at the time- 5am? You called him at 5am? “Wait, it’s 5am. Why are you even up??”

“Oh, Carlos and I have been getting up every morning at 4:30am to run and workout together.” you took a sip of your coffee, “I skipped today to call you, through.”

“Wow. He’s already rubbing off his good habits.” Charles smiled, happy that you were happy.

“Yeah…you’re okay with this, though?” you asked, setting your cup down.

“Of course. I’m sorry about the other day. I was just startled.” he apologized, he really did feel bad. He didn’t intend to be rude and freak you out.

“It’s okay. Thank you for being okay with this. I’ll let you go back to sleep.”

“Great, I need my eight hours. Night, Y/N,” Charles yawned, making you laugh a bit. “Night? Love you.” Charles muttered an ‘I love you’ back and hung up.

No need to worry about that anymore, you thought. Carlos walking in the front door, and by your smile, he didn’t even need to ask. Charles obviously didn’t mind.

Dan Heng

Upon meeting you, he was flashed with your (fav color) clothing. Was even a bit stunned by your cute clothing style.

When you joined the express and got your own room, him and the Astral Express Crew watched as you lugged box after box into your new room.

Days later, They were invited into your room, or better yet your gallery of figurines of anime characters and Sanrio. Not to mention your obvious theme of (color).

He was impressed by your interior design abilities.

And was almost embarrassed to invite you into his room that was also the archive room.

"Sooo, why is your room the archive room? Not judging! Just wondering is all," you asked him. He shrugged, "I'm not sure, It's more comforting in here I suppose." Comforting? This was comforting?

The day the two of you got together, with the help of Cupid and her assistant (March and Caelus LMAO), Dan Heng bought you a Cinnamon key chain and presented it to you after he asked to be your boyfriend, to which you said yes to.

You cheesed so hard afterwards. The keychain now hung on any part of you at all times, whether it was the belt hoop on your pants or hooked onto the backpack you decided to wear that day. It always stayed on you.

Pompom once complained about your crippling addiction to buying cute things. "You're going to flood the Express with all these things you keep buying!" they scolded.

It didn't get any better when Dan Heng walked in. "And you!" Pompom turned to him, pointing an accusing finger at him, "you need to stop encouraging your partners shopping addiction!"

Did the scolding stop the two of you? No it did not.

The following day, you and Dang Heng stood side by side with matching fluffy sweaters with cute accessories and make up that slayed.

"There's no stopping you is there...?" Pompom sighed, defeated.

Aventurine

"Oh? And who's this cutie?" he questioned, grinning at the figure that stood next to Jade. "Oh, this? This is (name), they're new here! Don't they have a killer style?"

Yes, Aventurine agreed. He loved the cute fluffy Kuromi sweater you wore and matching black shorts and shoes, your make up also fitting the color scheme.

The next time he went shopping after that, he spotted a Hottopic and immediately thought of you. He figured he'd be seeing you again and decided to buy you a Kuromi keychain. And Hello Kitty headphones. And Cinnamon wallet.

The two of you only met once and he's already gifted you three things that probably cost more than you'd like to think about. "Thanks, I guess! But why would buy such nice things after meeting me once?" you asked.

He shrugged, "I just saw the hottopic and thought of you, Cutie. You stand out to me, after all."

Truth was, he was intrigued. How could such a cute thing such as yourself be a part of an organization such as this one? How did you find yourself with a position here? Were you the same as him or did you come here all on your own? He had a lot of questions for you, but didn't dare to ask you. Not just yet.

Looks can be deceiving, he learned. You joined him on his mission to Penacony and witnessed first hand the skills you had that probably got you into (I forgor the name). He also learned that you could very well hold your own. How can you make fighting look so...cute?

After his encounter with Sunday, you tried so desperately to find him. You wanted to make sure he wasn't hurt, you were afraid you wouldn't find him in time.

By the time you did find him, it was too late. His form had changed and he was battling the Astral Express Crew.

You only met up again after it was all over. You expressed your concern and told him what happened after you two got separated. He didn't want to admit how it made him feel.

"Also I'm sorry...I sort of lost the Kuromi keychain you bought me while I was trying to find you," you apologized.

To think you cared so much about his safety that you ended up losing your precious keychain.

He chuckled, "That's alright, Cutie. We can always get you new one." He pat your head, slightly ruffling your hair. Gods above, even your hair was soft and cute.

After a year of denying his feelings, buying you gifts, pushing you away and pulling you back in only to push you away once more, an almost never-ending cycle.

After you told him about himself and how he constantly played with your feelings, he was able to snap out of it. In that moment, he truly felt as if he was going to lose you.

Your usual cute outfit replaced by something dull and boring compared to your usual. He knew he fucked up.

And in the heat of the moment, he ended up spilling everything. His fears, his past, his feelings about his so called gift, his feelings about you.

His confession was said so abruptly that you weren't sure how to react. Should you be mad? Happy? Confused even?

"Sugar? You okay? I know that was a lot and I'm sorry..." Aventurine ducked his head, looking down at his shoes shamefully. He felt mega embarrassed for dumping all of that onto you.

"I love you, Aventurine. Please, never think for a second that I'd leave you. Not if I can help it."

Aventurine promised himself to always keep yourself from loosing your bright colors ever again. He never wanted to see you in the state you were in that day again, not if he could help it.

Blade

You were the complete opposite of this man. His dark colors and brooding personality a stark contrast from your colorful clothing and bright smile.

That's why Kafka thought you two were perfect for each other. You know how the saying goes, opposites attract. Plus she hoped you'd be able to bring him out of his shell.

Upon meeting for the first time, he showed no reaction. Didn't even comment on your super adorbs outfit. Though he did catch a glimpse of the hello kitty keychain that hung on your hip.

You followed his gaze and realized he was looking at the hello kitty key chain. "Do you like Hello Kitty?" you asked that bright smile of yours. Before he could respond, you detach the keychain and held it out for him.

"Here, for you," you gifted. "I don't need that," he responded, rejecting the gift. "Oh c'mon, think of it as a first meeting gift," this was the best excuse you could come up with on the spot. Truth be told, you just wanted to see this cold brooding man with a hello kitty keychain, oh how hilarious that would be.

He grunted but took the keychain anyways.

Mission after mission together and finally Blade was able to open up a bit, especially after the mission at the Xhianzou Lofuo.

On the way back their base, Kafka caught Blade gazing at the Hello Kitty keychain he held so dearly in his palm. She grinned and leaned in close, "they've done much for you during this mission, don't you think they deserve something in return?"

And you did receive something in return. Once the two of you were alone, Blade gifted you a kiss, "thank you," he said, pulling away.

Of course, that wasn't enough for you. So you pulled him back in, neither of you letting go until you were completely out of breath.

Never did he expect such actions from a cute thing like you.

From then on, whenever Blade spots Sanrio, figurines, or the clothing style you liked so much from shopping districts in the planets he visited, he doesn't resist on buying anything he thought you'd like.

"Seriously? More things? How big are your pockets man?" Silver Wolf complained as she spotted Blade walking down the street with multiple bags in hand.

"It's for (name)," he explained. "Right, of course," she answered sarcastically. Who else would it have been for anyways?

it’d be really interesting to see you go the sweeter and bubblier route! I think it’s still important she’s not just an airhead, rather she’s just as (maybe a little less or maybe a little more) smart as tsukki- it’s their chemistry and bond that brings them together rather than a rivalry or banter. she’s not stupid, instead she chooses to be sweet with him and bring out a more docile area of his complex personality. she’s not snarky, she chooses to spend her time with him rather than being brought to it by the need to prove something to him. she knows she doesn’t, because they love each other and they get to be calm and enjoy themselves around each other in all their respective hobbies- and if tsukki’s hand tape gets replaced with a pink, patterned version then, well, what’s a guy to do?

i've seen others say this, but tsukishima with an emotionally intelligent partner to match his general intelligence is such a great concept.

but like agh i'm obsessed. obsessed. big scary boy who turns into a precious little softy with his partner? stop, it's everything really. like, imagine them talking in the hallway and he's looking at her so gently, tucking her hair behind her ear, then someone else comes up to talk to them and his face just drops. uuuuggggghhhhhhh.

or she's giving a presentation in class and the person next to tsuki keeps talking and he kicks their chair and glares at them like "how dare you speak when she's speaking, know your place you filthy mortal". lmao a little overboard but you get the point.

and just imagine all the little physical ways she creeps into his life. like, as you said, the occasional coloured tape on his fingers, hello kitty stickers on his headphones, a badtz-maru charm on his school bag (cause she thinks he looks like him), him using a pen with a fluffy pink top she lent him, him starting to use a fruity flavoured lip balm instead of his old plain one. and his fashion style slowly morphs from plain and basic to still simple but chic and slightly preppy.

oh, and her asking for his opinion on her new nails. and he always says he likes them. omg maybe this is too much, but what if for his birthday she writes his name on her nails. because tsukishima in english has ten letters, one for each finger. or maybe it's kei written in a tiny font on her thumb (in english or kanji). and when he sees it his face goes bright red and he pulls her into a hug so he can hide his blush from her, but she can feel his heart practically beating out of his chest.

oh my god and when he realises he loves her, like he's in love, he makes her a playlist. it's the sappiest thing he's ever done and probably will ever do in his life, but it's the only thing he can think of in the moment.

or maybe he chooses just one song that perfectly encapsulates the way he feels about her. as they walk home together, he unexpectedly places his headphones over her ears and presses play. he tries to act cool and collected, but he's dying inside and can't bring himself to look at her while it plays.

first of all you’re SO good at setting the scene. the first description of r with big headphones and sepia sunglasses makes she look sooo cool. and eddie!! the way his transformative smile makes him younger!! his excitement in hearing her good news like it’s his!! he’s so sweet it almost made me forget they’re gonna hate each other

"Do we know those guys?" you ask. 

Morgan grabs your hand and drags you up. "They know us," she says. "That's what matters."

You're both embarrassed by her and impressed. Morgan is pretty and talented and extremely loud — she's not afraid to stick up for herself, even when she's (nearly always) wrong.

You often think the worst thing about Morgan is that you love her, or you could love her more, if only she felt the same way. She isn't all evil and she never will be, she's just a person. But she takes shit out on you and makes your life harder than it needs to be, so even her most endearing moments fall short.

It drives Eddie insane. He can't help it. He hates you and he wants to linger on the sidelines and watch you play. He can't stand the despondent look in your eyes when you look at him, when you look at the floor. He needs you to know that you're better than they tell you, but he can't make himself say the words. 

eddie is just SOOO. like he’s so confused about his own feelings it makes me genuinely both furious and sorry for him

He's tipsy and he won't remember, but he wants to fuck you stupid just for that (affectionately).

Eddie worries he'd wanted to see you so badly you've appeared as a hallucination, and he hates himself and it's all old news anyways, but you turn back with a cold as ice beer in hand and press it into his arm until he whines.

Your thoughts are a mess until they aren’t — hold his hand. You put your fingers against his palm and he squeezes them together like he’s collected them, tugging you out of the crowd and across the room to the slick black bar.

His fingers twitch, eager to write about you. He has some lyrics in mind. Evil wretched girl with wicked sweet hands. Heart eater. Soft around the edges. 

He wants to write about your stupid chubby thighs and how they look in skirts. He wants to write about your wrists, your knees and their ever-present bruises. Metaphors for your sickly sweetness won’t stick; cruel becomes kind. Taunting turns teasing.

Eddie locks the door and Wayne shuffles into the kitchen promising coffee and cake. He should protest, tell Wayne he can go back to bed and they’ll catch up in the morning, but he missed the small stuff like this, when he’d get home late from band practice or a midnight premiere of a sci-fi flick and his uncle would be sitting up waiting.

Eddie hides his smile with a long sip of coffee. It’s hot and awful, ‘cause no matter how much love Wayne puts into it, dollar store coffee tastes like burnt grounds from the get go. Eddie missed it more than anything. Sometimes he’s in the back of the queasy tour bus or lying on the floor in his hotel room coming down off of something risky and all he can think about is Wayne’s coffee.

Anyway, the memory of her face won’t leave me alone. It makes me feel like crying. So I haven’t touched anything in two weeks and I thought coming home for Christmas would make up for all the secrets I’m keeping

It doesn’t feel like admitting defeat, as he’d initially thought it might. Neither does it feel confessional. You can’t confess to a secret already known. 

He kisses you just once. A light brush of his lips against yours. Anymore than that and he knows he’ll start making promises like someone who has room for them. His eyes scrunch closed hard and he struggles not to squeeze your poor cheek as the pressure of your lips builds, as they part, as he pulls back and you chase him. He can’t kiss your mouth anymore than that, but your hands are grabbing at him, pleading and twitching and cold against the searing skin of his abdomen as they search underneath his shirt. Eddie feels the soft curve of your hip under his hand, knowing he can’t fuck you here, and undecided on whether that’ll be his ruin or his saviour.

“I feel sick all the time,” you say. Your hands flex against his skin. “The only time I feel alright is when I’m playing– when I’m making something.” You press your head to his chest. “Or when I’m with you.”

Eddie thinks of all the shitty decisions he’s made. His restlessness, his bad attitude. His propensity to assume the worst. How he’d taken your thumb rubbing a smudge off of his cheek in the Prover Theatre as a jab, rather than a helping hand. 

He wraps his arms around you. 

Your head fits under his rather well. 

“I know what you mean,” he says. And out of everything he’s told you today, that’s the hardest to say aloud. 

jade, my love. you know how i feel about your writing. this doesn’t come as a surprise for you and it certainly shouldn’t come as one for me, but it does, every time. not to steal your own writing but your works have something transformative about them, where every time i feel like i can’t go back to the person i was before reading them. like poetry, you know? that inner shift you feel when something hits you deep down? that’s your writing for me. eddie and r’s conflicting feelings and mean remarks and utter honest confessions were so beautifully written and progressed so naturally. you’re so talented, but mostly you work so hard on your writing and it’s so evident that you love it so deeply, i can’t thank you enough for sharing it with us. can’t wait to see what’s coming next from you (you knew what you were doing writing that cliffhanger!!!) (also now i truly am a little bit sorry that this might too long)

AHHHH IM SO SPOILED LETS GO

setting the scene <3 okay thank you so much firstly, I think my problem as a writer is that half of the time I don't actually REMEMBER to set the scene but I've been getting much better at that! as well as learning to include like past details / more back story for characters and I'm so happy to see it's coming through

Morgan is kinda slay <\3 I wanted her and Ananya to feel very real, and for that I didn't just want to make them like blindly hate the reader, because if they did they wouldn't keep her in their internationally famous band! I also just really enjoy writing them. Ananya is this effortlessly beautiful intelligent girl who worked hard to get where she is, and she's not going to let Morgan, also beautiful but not quite as smart (thinks she's smart lol) ruin that, but she's still someone who has her eyes on other things. In the chapter I'm writing now they've had a spat and I've tried to emphasise how much Morgan relies on her casually

Eddie remembers her!! And he's been holding on to that little tidbit for so long!!! Pencilled in, I think he's gonna bring it up in like a heartbreak moment

Oh my god!! I won't lie I thought the like a dog comparison was literally so cruel, as I was writing it I was wondering if maybe it is too far but that's actually the point, he does go too far and if you said that to somebody you knew better it would probably damage your relationship, and I needed that to give their relationship this tenuous unsteadiness so I can manoeuvre the plot in the last chapter and the upcoming one. And I can kind of use readers vulnerability against her.

EXACTLY! he's "mean" like mean is a criminal offence, and absolutely she could have said you're a dick you're a jerk but those insults could have other influencing factors, the root of the insult is that he literally was just mean he lost his temper and she wasn't as innocent as she thinks (are we ever?) but what he said was so close to the bone, it was exactly what she hates about herself and he read her for filth and I think that's so interesting, that he can see her so clearly, and a big focus or theme for me in the fic that he uses that skill in a way to hurt her, and then spends the rest of the time feeling guilty and trying to walk it back because her slight is half imagined (she WASNT making fun of him at prover theatre, and she DID honestly forget she met him years ago, but those things left him off kilter, like an ego blow he wasn't expecring)

Eddie is so fucking confused about what he wants in the second chapter. I think I was a little confused too on where I wanted to go and I think that's why they ended up meeting on good terms so quickly, but it actually worked out because I was able to show their true intentions to EACH OTHER but not yet the people reading — reader knows what Eddie told her while he was drunk/high, but you guys don't yet, and I've been seeding it in, there's a little more of it in chapter 3 and there's even more now in the current wip, and Eddie doesn't QUITE know what he told her either even though he's remembered little bits, which is an important dynamic between them between each other. In the same way, she got drunk and told him about how she worries she'll be nothing (which was honestly self indulgent) and she has to trust him with that. Trying to build their relationship!

The skirt thing! My very first rival rockstar request I got at Halloween, I answered it with a plot line about skirts! Okay so i knew I wanted to include that but didn't know if I would, and I wanted to keep the option open hence inserting those details about Morgan thinking she doesn't suit them and Eddie going crazy over them. I don't know if I'll ever include it but it was like a secret homage to the idea that turned into this fic!

Eddie and Wayne!!! I realised pretty recently that I can literally make their relationship whatever I wanted it to be and If It Barks and the new ghost fic I'm writing fell victim to that, it was honestly one of my favourite moments getting to write about them, very very enjoyable.

YOU ALWAYS CATCH MY TINY REFERENCES 😭 u have no idea what it means for me to be able to throw in a little detail wondering if anybody notices and knowing that you do.

Eddie kissing her arm was like. I wanted to show that he's losing his pride? Not that it's humiliating to be affectionate, bit I figured it was incredibly intimate to do that, it's not like a kiss to the cheek that can be explained away, and I also just wanted the imagery there. I think that's a good thing to paint, the two of them in a snug nook of the bathroom all folded in on each other and he could kiss her on the lips if he wanted to, but he genuinely just wanted to kiss her arm and couldn't really stop himself from doing it

I'm always conflicted including details like "he wants to fuck you" because I don't want to take away from the romance, but then I remember that sex is actually romantic most of the time and I feel better about it. Like, he wants to fuck you stupid (affectionately) worked for me because he REALLY meant the affectionately part! he has such a raging crush on her at that point, and at this point when he's kissing her in the bathroom, and they still haven't fucked yet and he's a real human being, of course he wants to fuck her, she wants him to fuck her too 🤧 I would have made them in the bathroom honestly but I wanted to show that they're still not on sure footing, and that reader is super not okay in the situation that she's in (not so much because of Eddie, but I hope that it's evident that she has like a levy that's about to overflow) — she means it when she says she doesn't feel sick with him (self indulgence again, I put that bit in because I wanted her to feel relatable sure but I wanted to vent about some of my own feelings at the same time, I feel good when I'm writing and when I'm with the people I love, but the rest of the time I feel fucking awful, and it's awful, and I think it's one of those things other people can't fix for you, so that's why he hugs her and walks her back and they don't fuck because I didn't want it to look like he was attempting a quick fix)

My love!! I can't believe that I get to be your friend and also someone that you read. I say it to you all the time but I genuinely just forget that you can see what I'm making and that we literally met through my bad fanfic, I'm so happy to know you're still reading me, still enjoying it, still finding all these details and I'm incredibly spoiled to get to see your thoughts like this. I really love talking about why I've written what I have and even more do I enjoy seeing what you thought was good. I'm not gonna lie I absolutely love the attention and it isn't lost on me how long this takes you every time, it's a real actual true gift not just to receive your commentary but to be your friend !!
