The Twins (Mollie & Archer) - because both were created using one little veldigoop, they were basically one organism during their early years, which meant they had to be close to each other at all times. eventually, the consumed enough humans so that they could fully develop on their own and be able to move a few feet away from each other without immediately dropping dead

Pamela "Claire" - pam is in this weird limbo where she's kind of an oc, but also derives from the fandom's collective oc, but i want to differentiate her from them??? idk, I gave her a new name, so that's a start. She's still connected to the name Claire because, thanks to @luxury-nightmare, someone named Claire was her first victim, but she just preferred the name Pamela, from someone else she consumed

So I left a lot of these non-existent or vague so people can plug in themselves and people they love BUT here’s who I picture 😍

Doc: I don’t really have an actor who fits her so I made this AI thing when I was thinking up the character? But I’ve pictured her as fairly petite (5’2”-5’4” ish?), small but not skinny, rounded but not thicc. Basically just the personification of softness and femininity. She’s got a lot of hair that’s wavy/curly that gets out of control easily and her personal style is the thrift shop version of Jess from New Girl. She looks like someone the apocalypse will chew up and spit out.

Andrew: my sweet baby angel! When we first meet him, he is 110% Lucas from Stranger Things. Fairly baby faced but brave in the face of it all - and still able to find happiness and joy. By the time Doc leaves the QZ, I’m kind of leaning Donald Glover? Someone mentioned they cast him as Andrew Garfield and I kinda love that too lol

Jess: Our third member of the codependency squad (who was honestly way understanding of her boyfriend/husband’s weird attachment and we love her for it) and resident comedian is, in my head, Doctor Who era Karen Gillan. Red hair, vibe of sass and strength but also naïveté (and so pretty that we can’t blame Andrew for gawking at her for months) we love her.

Derek: the good guy who might have been if it weren’t for trauma and Joel! He’s 40 year old James Marsden. Just… *chef’s kiss* Look between him, Joel and Tommy? Doc can PULL. Someone said they cast Oscar Isaac here and look… Oscar is like maybe the one man I might find more attractive than Pedro, it depends on the day BUT I cannot cast him as anything but a leading man. Oscar and Pedro can only be end game in my book (but I will accept any and all HC castings lol)

Kristen: Our favorite, competent as HELL trauma nurse! I pictured her as being unexpectedly feisty coming from a small, pretty, blonde package. Does she seem like someone you’d underestimate? Poor choice on your part but that’s her. Malin Akerman is who she is for me!

Marta: our tough still figuring it out assistant turned expert nurse! I wanted someone sweet but strong who could be both naive and brilliant, so Ana de Armas it is! Only realized just now that her name in Knives Out is also Marta lol I FORGOT THAT BUT OH WELL!

Elias: Our stalwart dogooder under the umbrella of FEDRA turned exhausted man trying to keep people alive, Elias is a kind hearted leader trying to do the best he can with what very little he has. His caring and drive I think are exemplified in Jimmy Smits - especially West Wing era Jimmy Smits at the beginning of the fic.

Kind of insane that Hasbro hasn’t given ANYTHING to a season from the Disney, Neo Saban, or Hasbro eras. Except Hyperforce. Which wasn’t a traditional season. And the only post Zordon stuff we’ve gotten is one time force book and like. Three In Space books (I’m counting Psycho Path as In Space because I don’t remember anyone from LG showing up)

The hierarchy has definitely been MMPR > In Space > Other (OCs or Hyperforce....which are basically glorified OCs, so.....) > Time Force; which I guess isn't totally shocking, but like the toyline, it's weird that they clearly know how popular In Space and Time Force are but never really capitalize on RPM's equal popularity. (Dino Thunder is also super popular but I wonder if they avoid that due to the can of worms that is Tommy's role in it.)

Though tbh the real tragedy was how Dino Fury and Cosmic Fury have been left behind by the comics. When BOOM first got the license they threw a bone to the seasons airing alongside their releases: Ninja Steel got its own annual story for Shattered Grid, Beast Morphers got some covers and cameos (even a special "first appearance" in Shattered Grid) - but Dino Fury has gotten one crowd shot appearance in Darkest Hour and Cosmic Fury nothing at all. And I have no clue why. You're not even going to make them one of the teams picked up by Hyperforce in 118??? Where's my Fern content!!!!!!!

CAKE SLICE - favourite cake flavour? are they specific about types of cakes? PANCAKE - what is their comfort breakfast? ANGER - what are some habits they have that will take some getting used to? Favorite cake flavor? Are they specific about types of cakes?

Poor Red… He loves the idea of cake, loves all the amazing and beautiful decorations and designs, the delicious aroma of one baking in the oven…

But after twenty plus years of being heavily restricted when it came to his diet, his taste buds and stomach just can’t handle all that sugary, rich goodness. He remembers that CJ LOVED chocolate cake and he tried it once… but gagged, dry-heaved, and retched at how overpowering it was on his tongue.

And Garrett taught him how to bake certain cakes, pies, and pastries when Red used to sneak off to the old man’s farm. And he could eat them afterwards and actually enjoy the little indulgence. But he was younger then and hadn’t been forced to follow his fighter’s diet that long at this point. The memories make him a little sad, but the price of vomiting it all back up just isn’t worth the battle.

What is their comfort breakfast?

That one’s a little tricky. In the palace, breakfast was a lot of protein and healthy fat with a few carbs mixed in. Boiled eggs, cottage cheese, smoked salmon, berries, avocados, whole milk… very, very clean. Routine is comfort for Red even if it appears stifling to Tommy and Jason. Drakkon tried to tempt him with waffles, sausages, rich pancakes with syrup… which he promptly vomited all over kitchen or outside in the flowerbeds if he managed to keep it down that long.

What are some habits they have that will take some getting used to?

Red loves the simple life. He much prefers things that are not electronic or complicated or high-tech. The palace was definitely not a modern environment and, though CJ had experienced a normal teenage life up until becoming a Ranger and then Drakkon’s psychiatric experiment, Red was a completely new and different person, just inhabiting another person’s body essentially. Complicated gadgets confused and frustrated him, sometimes frightened him. It only highlighted the areas he still felt ‘dumb’ in.

Red loves his music on the radio; that is not too involved to plug in and switch on or dial in the desired station. He usually has music playing while tidying the house or working in the yard.

He doesn’t use a lot of appliances either besides the stove top. His diet is pretty natural and straightforward without a lot of prep or elaborate cooking involved. Red uses a regular broom and mop on the floors, beats the rugs outside, etc. No weird robotic vacuums or other technology. Alexa would freak him out.

And the other three love the ease and convenience of modern technology. They use them but Red insists on doing his chores HIS way.

Red often forgets to keep his cell phone on him, which is a very, very basic old flip phone that is practically a dinosaur model. Remembering to charge it is another can of worms. He would often plunk it down and forget it wherever it lay. Since he was usually home if not out with one of the others, it wasn’t necessarily a huge deal but could be frustrating on occasion.

Since he doesn’t usually go out, Red is the group’s homebody. The others like to go to the mall, to the movies, out to eat… but other people, especially large groups, agitate Red. He gets into fight-or-flight mode from being overstimulated or feeling trapped or feeling like he’s being ‘sized up’. His PTSD flares up and he can hallucinate being back in a cage fight. If he catches this happening, he is prone to go missing, holing up somewhere Tommy and Jason never think to look. Drakkon only knows because he knows how Red thinks… and had sent several hours in the past prior to joining up with the other two, hunting his partner down in big-box stores or shopping centers.

As time goes on, Red branches out a little with his camera and taking up photography. Eventually, he’s persuaded to share his nature and gardening photos and he starts dabbling with a computer, starting his own little plant blog (with Jason’s help initially) under his new name ‘Jamie’.

Another annoying thing is that it doesn’t occur to him to start switching on the lights when it starts getting dark outside. In the palace, if it was too dark, one would light candles. There were big, bright overhead lights to flip on. Its almost like he just doesn’t realize he doesn’t have to navigate about in the dark. Tommy, Jason, and Drakkon occasionally hurt themselves by running into things or each other because there’s zero light.

And Tommy is petrified that Red always agrees or goes along with what everyone else says or wants since he went decades unable to have a voice. Sometimes he does this, but only because he doesn’t have an opinion or care all that much which is just gas on the fire for Tommy’s fretting.

Of course, both Tommy and Jason have to get used to Drakkon and Red and their joking/teasing about traumatic things that happened between them and all their nicknames for each other etc.

And Red is forever wearing clothing that is just slightly too big for him; perhaps rebelling subconsciously against his old skin tight uniform and collar??

Create a bouquet for them! What do those flowers mean? Are any of the flowers their particular favorite?

Red’s bouquet would made of Clematis blooms (mental beauty), Coreopsis (always cheerful), and Bird of Paradise (freedom/joy). White carnations (innocence), Lotus (rebirth), and purple Columbine (resolution) for the part of him that is CJ.

I think Red would love the Bird of Paradise. And of course he loves his Sweet Juliet.

What is something they will refuse to stay quiet about?

Red will call Drakkon out if he starts sliding into his bullshit attitude especially with Tommy. He knows they are going to butt heads often until they find a way to settle their issues with each other and themselves, but the bickering eventually gets on his last nerve.

He also feels that since they are technically older, he and Drakkon should be better role models now for Tommy and Jason (lol). Like with cautioning them about taking too many body shots (which everyone ends up fucking up with) or helping (or trying to help) with college course stuff, which they can’t really do more than harp about studying and doing homework given their own missing education.

Red is big on trying to compromise and be fair, for obvious reasons…

He gets REALLY upset if the others start treating him like a child or don’t listen to him when he’s expressing how he feels in relation to a question THEY asked. For example, the whole issue with the Snoopy Halloween costume and Tommy yelling at Drakkon when it was RED’S idea and he WANTED to be Snoopy!

As a lover of plants and animals, Red also harps on the others about using reusable totes at the store instead of plastic bags, cutting any rings on soft drink holders, using food scraps for composting, wasting water or electricity, recycling, not raking when the caterpillars are making their cozy hibernation hideouts, balloon releases hurting animals and other wildlife… He’s environmentally minded! Locals become familiar with him and Red becomes something of an unofficial ‘plant doctor.’

And Grid help you, if you mess with his gardening tools.

What things make them feel comforted? Hugs, kisses, food?

Red is comforted by touch. Hugs and kisses, stroking his hair or his back. Helping him feel like he’s hidden by assisting in creating a blanket-type nest or cocoon when he’s feeling overstimulated and needing to hide (early years). Having an arm around him. Holding his hand when he’s nervous or trying to overcome his fears. Laying down for a nap and a cuddle. Or a fuck and a cuddle.

WIP Game: By Any Other Name and Strawberry Fields!

I talked about by any other name here! here's another snippet:

“Thomas W. Gillis.”  Sidney looks at him again, but Hawkeye avoids his gaze.  “Born the same year as you,” he observes. “Friend of yours?” “We grew up together.”  It sounds forced, clipped, even to him. It’s not even half the story, and he senses that Sidney knows just how much he’s leaving out, if not exactly what.  Sidney glances at the headstone again.  “1951.” He raises his eyebrows. “Did he die in Korea?” he asks in that way he has—gentle, but matter-of-fact.  “Yeah, uh,” Hawkeye pauses. “I guess I never told you.”  He looks at the headstone. Nestled just behind it are Tommy’s parents, who died within four months of each other, a couple of years before Daniel. They can’t hide from time any more than the Pierces can; the faded granite betrays the grave with the latest birthdate as the oldest.  “He died at the 4077th.”  Sidney conceals his surprise well, but not well enough.  “Why do you suppose you never did?” “You remember what it was like over there,” he shrugs. “There was always something else.”  Sidney waits. Sidney always waits. Sidney can sense when Hawkeye wants to say more, even before Hawkeye can.  “I saw it happen,” Hawkeye adds carefully.  “That must have been very painful.”  It’s an honest assessment, not patronizing. He's always been able to count on Sidney for that.  “It was almost thirty years ago,” Hawkeye says, like that makes it better instead of worse. 

Unlike with Hawkeye's parents' graves, which he kind of does want to show Sidney, he just won't admit it, Hawkeye really does not plan on stopping at Tommy's grave. It's not in this excerpt, but on their way out of the cemetery, Sidney sees the same flowers from Hawkeye's parents' graves and the front of the house and makes the connection. W is a middle initial I gave Tommy because I thought he deserved one. That last line is very personal; it's weird to talk about your dead childhood best friend, and people will say they're sorry because there just isn't anything else to say, but it's weird to hear about something that happened so long ago so you say well, it was a long time ago, like that makes it better, but when you think about it it just means they died so young it's been that long and here you still are. Anyway. I hope you enjoy!

I am so happy you asked about Strawberry Fields because it's been on my mind! Strawberry Fields is very much a working title, but strawberries do figure. This fic is basically the night of the Rosslyn shooting from Josh's mom's perspective. One of the reasons I took a break was I couldn't figure out what the end point was, but I think it's going to be when she finally gets to DC, just before she sees him. I made some OCs to be her friends and neighbors and it was really fun! There's this one particular Moment I haven't been able to get right yet but I'm very excited for when I pull it off.

She took a third spoonful of filling. She never measured, it was always instinct. She always overfilled the spoon just slightly, so she could get it done in one go. Her hands were steady; she never spilled a drop. Jim had complimented her technique. She crimped the third tart, then went back for the fourth.  There was a sharp knock at the door.  The sound startled her. She dropped the spoon. It caught the side of the bowl with a splash, before clattering to the floor. There was a second knock. She turned in the direction of the front door, and her eye caught the television.  The letters scrolled across the screen in red.  Special Report Shots Fired President Bartlet She picked up the remote. She found the mute button without tearing her eyes away from the screen. The sound roared to life.  “—and we can now confirm that President Bartlet’s motorcade has arrived at George Washington University Hospital—” Oh, God, she thinks. Let that be all.  “—we are also receiving reports of several other injuries, but these victims have yet to be identified. The injury count is believed to be low—”  Someone would call. If it was— someone would have called her.  Someone was still knocking on the door. She stood, transfixed, in front of the TV. A shrill sound cut the kitchen in half, drowning out both the news report and the continued knocking.  The telephone.  She glanced toward the door, then turned her back on it.  She picked up the phone.

BUT the wip. Basically Steve was Seven and the oldest of three that escaped, a brother and a sister. I hadn't quite cleared up if they were OC's or characters. Now I know more I'm almost tempted to make the sister Chrissy. Wouldn't know about the brother. (Maybe Tommy, would that be weird? Honestly they don't need to like each other for this to work. Slight antagonism is almost preferable). But they escaped and are acting like normal humans, kind of trying not to be seen together as family too much. But their powers are very much like those of the stepford sisters from the show gifted, mindcontrol and telepathy. One getting hurt lets the others know too, things like that. Then Vecna comes to stir shit up, and Steve meets El obviously. So they begrudingly start stirring shit up, trying not to get caught, seperate but together. Steve is still be babysitter, something the others make fun of. They are those types of siblings that only get along cause "FAMILY".

Like ok I’m probably not the one to call folks out on this but my judgement for bedrock bros twt mains is unsurmountable at times. If you want a definition of flanderization and deviation from the plot. They’re right there.

They are probably the closest tbh out of all the sbi combos to folks just writing about, straight up ocs? Or in the worst cases writing uncomfortably close to this warped version of rpf. And I say that because I don’t think I’ve ever read a bedrock bros fic where it’s written ABOUT their characters.

I know the whole point of fanfiction is to explore possibilities, but in bedrock bros fics I feel like Tommy is always woobified or in some way like- unable to care for himself because frostbite made him lose a foot and/or he passed out in the snow from blood loss or something. He’s just a sopping wet creature with no bark or bite, a traumatized punching bag for the plot.

Meanwhile Techno is uncharacteristically caring, while in canon he basically is the first person to not believe Tommy. He is not cTechno, he sometimes isn’t even vaguely anarchical, he is just the idea of someone caring for someone else, with the motifs of the character his cc portrayed in videos sprinkled in.

Yes, the line between cTechno and “cc”Techno was more blurred than with other members of cSBI, or even other members of the DSMP in general, as lore was never seemed too serious with him, but like, idk how to stress the fact I don’t think I’ve ever read a bedrockbros fic ABOUT cTechno and cTommy.

You can have your own interpretations about the two, sure, but Techno literally said “he goes away for two weeks then comes back and makes everyone feel bad for him” about Tommy and his Exile.

He also (albeit jokingly) called after to Dream when he left after looking for Tommy, for him to “take him back”, and he (iirc) knew at that point that something bad had happened in exile.

Like- I don’t know. I don’t understand bedrockbro mains, especially on twitter, because 98% of the time they’re never writing or talking about bedrockbros, just these weird flanderized beyond recognition versions of them. Hooooo, okay, so, I have a LOT of fanfic that I'm theoretically working on/daydreaming about that doesn't get shared, but, uh, lets see what's not too horrifying to share...

I spent a couple of weeks a few months ago binge-watching Criminal Minds, and got infected by a plotbunny of Dean Winchester/Aaron Hotchner(/Haley Brooks) as a sort of... fix it crossover where, because they're both protagonists from rather different genres, their different approach manages to fix things in the other 'verse.

As in, Dean kills Foyet in proper I'm-fresh-out-of-hell-and-you-did-WHAT-to-my-boyfriend?! style. With added bonus 'you think you're good with a knife? Boy, have I got some things to show you. Say hello to Alastair for me when you get down there'.

And Hotch (and the team) profile the fucking devil so well they manage to talk him down from trying to wipe out humanity. (He goes off to fuck up heaven instead.)

I've gotten bits and pieces of, well, backstory written up, plus some 'Dean meets the BAU' and 'Hotch meets hunters' scenes that I love, but I've gotten stuck on something really stupid and just haven't managed to get my brain to move past it, so I haven't actually written the parts I started writing the story for yet ^^" (this happens to me a lot).

What else?

I have been working, on and off, on a Critical Role Time Travel AU that's actually kind of a spin-off of my very first Critical Role fic which is 'Molly lives rent-free in Caleb's head for the entire rest of the campaign' because as I was watching it I was constantly thinking 'but how would Molly react to this?!' so I wrote it (some of it).

And then I thought 'okay, but what if, okay, I know time-travel is supposed to be semi-impossible, but what if it is technically POSSIBLE, it's just that going backwards through time essentially destroys the soul/spirit/whatever, EXCEPT, of course, that when Caleb does it, he has a BONUS SOUL coming along for the ride, and it's basically enough for Molly to get through more or less intact?'

And then the Moonweaver is like 'fuck, you are my Most Troublesome Worshipper, what am I going to do with you?' and Molly is, you know, themself, so the Moonweaver, also being a goddess of lovers trysts, nudges things until Lucien ends up with twin baby brothers (Molly and Kingsley are both Aspects of the same being, and thus inextricably linked, so bits and pieces of Kingsley got dragged along for the ride, only not enough for him to have more than Weird Instincts) and a bonus Moonweaver Cleric mum.

Was this an excuse to write canon!verse Tealeaf triplets? Yes. Yes it was.

Did it turn into a Ridiculous Epic Saga of the Tea Leaves (Molly, Kingsley, Caduceus, Keg, and Ophelia Mardun) treking across all of Wildmount trying to save people from the future and stumbling into messes along the way? Yes. Yes it did.

Did I actually manage to write any of the actual story? No. I wrote backstory instead, and ended up mostly writing about the adventures of two separate Parent Squads that are probably... 40-60% OCs? doing a tiny little Molly's bidding. It very much became a And You Get A Parent And You Get A Parent And You Get Three Parents story.

I have Such Plans for this AU (including, importantly, a Shadowidomauk endgame), but, alas, actually writing it is proving... difficult.

One more for luck?

Hmm... I have Ideas for a Peaky Blinders AU based on my Little Sallyanne fic? It's not very well fleshed out yet, but it definitely results in Sally murdering the shit out of her brother's terrible wife, adopting her nibling, and going on to severely fuck up nazis when WWII rolls around.

This one is Percolating, and I'm really not sure what I want to do with it, exactly. Just general Vibes of Tommy being the feral gremlin mentor to my beloved feral gremlin child. (Also, Sally getting semi-adopted by Alfie Solomons, maybe, because here's this child going around claiming to be Jewish when she's not, and Alfie's like 'no, either you fucking Stop That, or you commit to the fucking bit' and Sally's like '-starry eyes- Okay Dad'. I would have to do a lot of research to do this justice because I'm aware that I don't know enough to know how to write this properly ^^" Basically, I just want everyone adopting her like a starving feral cat who will absolutely bite the hand that feeds her)

Technically, I think you can say that things like Never Simple, Not All Who Wander, and the various other unfinished things on my writing blog are all on a backburner right now? As well as the next instalments in my Somewhere Just Beyond My Reach and Gramarye and Trapped In The Amber series also count. I am Thinking About Them a lot, but there's either not enough for me to get my teeth stuck into, or my teeth are stuck and I can't chew on them properly =P

I still never got through beyond the grid. Does the comic series just… go back go being about MMPR exclusively afterward? That seems like, really weird. But I’ve ever really seen someone mention a thing anyone else did after that point.

The main series basically pivots to MMPR s2 after Beyond the Grid, yes. Necessary Evil starts after Jason, Zack, and Trini "go to the Peace Conference" (aka become Omega Rangers) and Aisha, Rocky, and Adam become MMPRs; while the Go Go Power Rangers prequel side talks about how Tommy got the White Light and rejoined the team. That being said elements and characters from other seasons do become important to the storylines; Andros in particular is a major character in the Charge to 100 storyline.

Though honestly, despite being a series set in MMPR's time, the MMPRs themselves take a back seat in importance depending on the storyline lol it's usually the Omegas and/or OCs that get the lion's share of the development and focus

for the ocs game: since i am currently obsessed w developing theo i would looovee to know how you would see the dynamic between flora (since they probably wouldn't get along at all) and her, especially since they both end up clashing w nancy (even though theo is. very similar to nancy).

theo is veryy much the snobby rich girl type. she's callous and honestly unlikable. also moved to hawkins before freshman year and was quickly taken in by the steve-carol-tommy friend group. but by s1 she's thrown out of the friend group bc she cheated on steve (but her brother stays friends w them and it gets very complicated) . it's through her family dynamics that you realize oh. there's a reason she's like this.

so. she's brenner's daughter, but was raised pretty much like any other normal kid. she has very complicated relationships with both her parents. w her father you have this immense pressure to be excepcional (bc if she has no powers she at the very least has to be academically talented) and to set an example to her younger brother. she's her mother's (and siblings) emotional support. from a very young age she was basically treated as a mini adult and a pseudo-parent. out of her siblings she's definitely the toughest and becomes her mother's and brother's biggest defender once they end up involved with will's disappearence.

flora’s only child who is also a daughter syndrome vs theo’s eldest daughter pseudo-parent syndrome, fight!

really, i think flora would probably get along better with theo’s twin, nell. flora and theo definitely wouldn’t get along, at least at the start. flora hates the ‘popular’ group since she was kinda of bullied for being the ‘weird quiet new girl’; so even though theo got kicked out, flora would assume the vibes are still there, the attitude. hell, flora only ever even went to one high school party. they definitely clash in a lot of aspects.

i could maybe see them getting along later on, a kind of ‘oh, your dad sucks? my dad sucks!’, recognition-of-one’s-self-in-another situation. also the complicated relationships with their mothers? aAAAaAaAAaaaa. girls who feel older than their actual ages, who feel responsible for their respective ‘siblings’ (theo’s actual siblings vs flora’s pseudo-siblings), tough girls who shouldn’t have to be tough but don’t have a choice anymore.

also caroline and flora’s mom, alice, should hang out actually. hawkins’ resident hot repressed mothers with sh*tty ex-husbands (joyce come join too).
