How would Prism react to finding out Phoenix can come back from the dead?

“and all this time, i thought i had the advantage of continual experimentation and the power of multiple iterations, but it was you! i really did never stand a chance!” Prism crossed her arms. “you’re lucky i’ve only found out now, when i can be happy i was never able to kill you. i’d almost call it cheating, to be able to come back from the dead.”

“okay, but to be fair, your robots only managed to kill me like, twice,” Phoenix said. “i didn’t just brute force my way through. most of the time.”

”i do have to wonder what caused this phenomenon, though. if it’s something that can be replicated, it would revolutionize, well… everything! you really have no idea?”

Phoenix shook their head.

“on second thought, that might be good. if Zor ever learned how to do it, it would be disastrous. i’ll look into this.” Prism paused, then smiled. “it’s incredible. you really are a phoenix.”

The fascinating thing about having only just joined gravity falls fandom, but being previously aware of its presence on the internet; is I know a decade ago the only character with major presence out of the fandom was Dipper. Like if you stumbled on fanart or content while not in fandom most of it involved him. Dipper getting possessed, Dipper beat up, Dipper tormenting his family while possessed, him with Wirt of garden wall.

So when I watched I expected a slightly different show. Something slightly less rounded. Something really only focused on Dipper. Primarily I expected more Dipper getting possessed whump. I thought he was possessed for a string of episodes at one point bc of the sheer amount of Dipper possession art I saw roughly a decade ago.

But now the characters with the biggest presence are the old men. In particular theres alot more focus on Fiddleford than ever. Alot of art, analysis, and fic is recontextualizing the traumas these old men have been through. The way the memory gun is an analogy for addiction, the way Bill is just a shitty abusive ex (an entertaining one, but one nonetheless), the way that the show tackles generational trauma so on an so forth.

But thats still not the show in its entirety, the microscope just shifted.

What I'm saying is there is a non zero chance some poor soul will walk into Gravity Falls thinking its more about old man Mcgucket than anything, only to get wildly confused. I wish them luck I can only imagine the show that existed in their head before watching and I hope the tonal disonace was as funny as mine was when I realised Dipper was just some sweaty kid who loved his family.

You know, four years ago I was so worried that my characters would be seen as Cringe for even just like... being supernatural in any way. Uhhh this is a really hard question 😭 I don't think i really have a singular favorite...

I'd have to say... Pyrrha's Magnetism, Jaunes aura amplification and maybe Yangs Burn? Or Adam's Moonslice, they're very similar semblances but Adam's arguably looks cooler lol

I think they just have a lot of uses you could get creative with, especially if you probably combined them. Like, what would Yangs semblance amplified look like?? And I'm biased towards magnetism purely because I'm a Magneto fan ngl, but that one's really cool bc you could get REALLY creative with it.

Other semblances i like is Rens specifically after the evolution and Foxes telepathy. Both are super fun for a lot of reasons, I'm a fan of mind or emotion based powers :P

I had a dream a couple nights ago that izuku had some crazy ass reality breaking quirk but he didn’t really want it so he just pretended he was quirkless (saiki k style) but at one point he was forced to use it in a bad situation so he basically gaslit everyone into thinking it was someone else and by the end everyone including the guy who he claimed did it was convinced it was that guy

Friendly FYI - the Shi'ar suit Charles wears in '97 is based off of a suit he has in Fatal Attractions that is Shi'ar tech and somehow allows him to channel his telepathic powers to let him walk. However iirc it's very draining on him.
