@asklordcaptaincastronova
Sir, it's just like a Rogue Trader to flippantly refer to "applying money" as "using magic."

You are very good with words, i need a dissertation from you of every Mafin interaction, please and thank you. 🫶🏻😌
I don't know if good is the word I'd use. I'm mostly kind of a bitch to them. I am Cruella and the words are my Dalmatians.
But rest assured, I've got more than a few scenes lined up to fanwank about. I'll just take a small break and spend a week chasing sunshine and dreaming about all of the coats I can make out of the plethora of Mafin scenes I haven't even touched yet. When I'm back from my vacation I'll be back with the answer, the flirt and the fucking heartbreak. And then some.
Also here's to hoping there's some new scenes lined up next week too.

those are sure some asks: 7, 11, 16? please and thank you!
Thank you again friend :)
7. Song stuck in your head? HERE
This one is a friend's fault. Driving around town, comes on the radio, and neither of us can ignore it.
11. Something on your wish list.
Sleep. More sleep.
16. They say you can tell a lot about a person from the state of their desk...Do you have a desk? Can you describe it?
I have three desks.
One for sewing, which is currently a mess because I am in the middle of making a caplet. Threads everywhere, my favorite snip scissors to the side, a pin cushion that I only use half the time and the other half the pins end up in the mat the machine sits on.
On the top of this desk is a small rectangular zen type fountain (why I thought that was a good idea I don't know I never plug it in) Several seashells from places I've traveled, a tiny metal lighthouse glued to a slice of blue geode, a poorly painted scene of a beach, and two ceramic seagulls perched on a piece of driftwood which I inherited from my grandmother. And this guy:
Second is the office desk and this is highly organized, everything labeled, computer always cleaned down, papers in their correct boxes. (Can't let anyone know we do work here!!) No picture, I'd be giving away too many secrets.
The third is home office. This one has lots of tiny drawers and a pull down so you can cover the desk when anyone visits. The only thing on the top of the desk is a printer. It looks like the picture below. One of the neighbors was moving and hardly used it. She was giving it away for free and I couldn't say no! My art pens, brushes, random small supplies are in the top.

I’m very pumped for your eras design (and if you end up doing it as a tote bag… I mean I’m gonna order it anyway but yeah) but also from your quick sketch, I love the little maple leaves because as a Canadian who had to draw those a lot as a kid when I had to draw the flag… I appreciate the struggle of trying to draw those
dghjskfhgfs I've had to draw them before and I'm literally saving them for last bc they're somehow SO much harder than anything else on there???? I'm screaming that you could even tell they were rough maple leaves tbh

With Kamala/Walz going up DAILY, I've seen more people talking about voting third party/Jill Stein (EW) and I believe the above screencaps from @three--rings can explain WHY Third Party votes NEVER work NOR is this the election to screw around in.
Everyone....like she says above.....PLEASE LEARN FROM HISTORY!!!
(Because if Trump gets in, he's NEVER LEAVING).

lead balloon (the tumblr post that saved me)
if this comic resonated with you, it would mean the world to me if you donated to this palestinian family's escape fund.
--
no creative notes because this isn't that kind of comic.
I know I don’t owe any of you anything but I still felt compelled to write about my long term absence. And I feel far enough away from the dangerous spot I was in to be able to make this comic. I have a therapist now, and she agreed that making this could be a very cathartic gesture, and the start of properly leaving these thoughts behind me. I am still, at seemingly random times, blindsided by fleeting desires to kill myself. They’re always passing urges, but it’s disarming, and uncomfortable. I worry sometimes that my brain’s spent so long thinking only about suicide that it’s forgotten how to think about anything else. Like, now that I've opened that door for myself, I'll never be able to fully shut it again. But I’m trying my best to encourage my mind in other directions. We'll see how that goes.
I am still donating all proceeds from my store to Palestinian causes. So far, I've donated over $15K, not including donations coming from my own pocket or the fundraising streams which jointly raised around $10K. In the time since I made my initial post about where this money would be going, the focus has shifted from aid organisations to directly donating to escape funds.
If you'd like to do the same, you can look at Operation Olive Branch, which hosts hundreds of Palestinian escape funds or donate to Safebow, which has helped facilitate the safe crossing and securing of important medical procedures for over 150 at-risk palestinians since the beginning of the genocide.

Loving reminder from your land history auntie:
North American golf courses have had 50-100 years of arsenic and mercury based fungicide and herbicides applied to their soils.
Do not eat anything that has been grown on a golf course or downstream from a golf course. I know it sounds cool and radical, but you are too valuable to poison yourself with heavy metals.
Protect each other, turn your local golf course into a pollinator garden, not a sex forest or community garden.
