Anime Tag Game
1. Last anime you watched?
Nekopara (it's trash and I know that now but I was lured in by the pretty character designs)
2. Last anime you binge watched?
Might have been Attack On Titan but I've been slacking on anime in general lately so it's been a while
3. Recommend an anime and state your reason.
Death Parade. It's super interesting and gives a unique perspective on death and how you choose to live your life.
4. Anime you have not finished watching yet?
One Piece (and I probably never will lol)
5. An anime you do NOT recommend and state your reason.
Btooom! Went into it thinking it'd be a hunger games, battle royale type thing and instead got rape porn and pedophilia. Couldn't even make it past episode 4.
6. List your top 5 favorite anime.
1) Soul Eater
2) Death Parade
3) Black Lagoon
4) Durarara!!
5) Puella Magi Madoka Magica
7. Of your top 5 anime, list two of your favorite ships from each show.
Soul Eater - honestly don't really have any, Stein and Marie are cute I guess
Death Parade - Decim and Chiyuki
Black Lagoon - Revy and Rock
Durarara!! - the raira trio, Celty and Shinra
Puella Magi Madoka Magica - Madoka and Homura, Kyouko and Sayaka
8. Of your top 5 anime, list one ship you do not like.
Izaya and Shizuo from Durarara!! People just ship them cuz they're two attractive dudes who hate each other.
9. Of your top 5 anime, list one crack ship.
Eh, not into that.
10. Of your top 5 anime, list your favorite character from each one.
Soul Eater - Soul
Death Parade - Chiyuki
Black Lagoon - Revy
Durarara!! - Izaya
Puella Magi Madoka Magica - I love a lot of em but I'll go with Kyouko
11. List 3 of your husbando/waifu and what anime they are from.
Grimmjow from Bleach, Tohru from Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid, Sukuna from Jujutsu Kaisen
12. Favorite anime genre?
Urban fantasy. Shows like Noragami, Blood Blockade Battlefront, Death Note, etc.
13. Weirdest anime you've seen?
I've seen a lot of weird ones but I'll say FLCL
14. Subbed or dubbed?
Depends entirely on the show. Some dubs are really good, especially when it comes to comedy, others are garbage. No preference I guess but sub is more accessible.
15. Fanart or fanfic?
Both are good but I interact with fanart more
16. Protagonist or antagonist?
Depends but antagonists are typically more interesting
17. Funniest anime you've seen?
Nanbaka
18. Saddest anime you've seen?
Either Death Parade or Devilman: Crybaby (but Tokyo Magnitude 8.0 is also worth mentioning)
19. Anime character you dislike the most?
Sakura from Naruto. If you've seen the show you know why. Virtually no redeeming qualities in that one. Also Deku from My Hero Academia, he's just extremely basic and annoying.
20. Recommend an anime movie.
Wolf Children or any movie made by Mamoru Hosoda
I'll tag @auraphantom @unsuspectable-weirdo @redabeliz @d1ckgray5on @pandabully @musicmusnt @usernamethatisgood @only-active-at-night and anyone who wants to do it

We are at Episode 114.
Yuzu takes Yuya to the luxury boat Yusho is boarding, but they fail to meet it.
Yusho has refused Asuka's idea of an assault to Academia with the students, and wants her to stay. He believes he can talk Leo out. Dennis interferes, but then Kaito interferes Dennis's challenge. Card games on a cruiser ensue.
Dennis tries to make Kaito the heel for performance, Kaito doesn't take it.
Bubble Gardna's effects is based on Yuma's Half Unbreak, and Candy Crafter is an obvious reference to Sora.
Trapeze Witch's design features the same pink skirt as Dark Magician Girl, and has the same heart effects. Trapeze Witch is Level 7, since Trapeze Magician is analogous to Level 8.
Dennis successfully beats down Kaito, because he designed his strategy using the information available in Academia's database. Because of Sayaka's Little Fairy, his strategy fails, allowing Kaito to Rank-Up to Neo Galaxy-Eyes Cipher.
Since it is based on the original Neo Galaxy-Eyes, this is the only Monster in ARC-V that has a higher original ATK than Z-ARC, this remains to be the case even into post-canon.
Yusho starts clapping, causing the audience to clap with him.
Dennis is sad because he lost to another Xyz user from Xyz Dimension, despite being an Xyz user himself.
Yusho chides him for not responding, Dennis claims the applause is only for the victor, meaning he has the same anti-egaoist ideology as Yuri.
Dennis believes he is unfitting to meet Yuya, and Shun again as a traitor, and reveals Ruri, and Rin's prison towers. He theatrically cards himself.
Gang fails to find a boat. An odd-looking Serena meets with them, claiming she knows where a boat is.
Though Dennis's suicide is more emotional in English dub, due to brief glint his eyes, and Serena's sudden appearance, the whole thing is supposed to be a ruse (it is interesting that most people didn't catch this). He knows Rin, and Ruri are brainwashed, and he expects brainwashed Serena to encounter the cast, and capture Yuzu. But since he doesn't want more personal responsibility (in either to betray the gang, or betray Yuri), and wants to ride the winning team, he removes himself off the field, and puts both sides in a position that will maximize damage.
tl;dr:
**If Academia wins, and reunifies the dimensions, he will be released from card, and avoid conflict with Yuri, either allied with Lancers, or allied with Academia, assuming Yuri loses control to Z-ARC.
**If Lancers win (and Dennis clearly thinks this is the highest possibility), he won't have to confront Yuri, or betray his comrades, since he now knows Yuya can speak to their hearts. And if Yuya loses control to Z-ARC, he won't have to put him down.
Of course, Dennis is assuming Yuya, and Yuri have more self-restraint than they actually do, so he is having way too high expectations on his best friend, and his mentor's kid. Since both will lose control, Dennis will fail in his Thanatos Gambit.
Dennis will also fail, since he presumably doesn't know Sora left Academia, or at least the full context of it. If he did, the situation might have been different, though at that point he would also have to reveal girls are brainwashed.
Serena's brainwashing is only present in the animated shots, the final shot removes the shadows.
Next episode is Captain Solo's ship.

If there was an animated adaptation of the Twilight series, who would you pick as the voice cast for all of the vampires?
Thoughts on an animated Twilight series.
We’re going to play a similar game as this, where we can pick and choose people across the time space continuum with a TARDIS. And also we’re ignoring language barriers.
With that, here we go.
Crispin Freeman as Jasper
Casting Crispin Freeman’s voice for me is a given. It’s sad, but if Crispin Freeman is cast in a role I will watch that show and I will watch it dubbed. The man is phenomenal and is not only charismatic in every single role he plays but plays a myriad of different personalities so damn well you almost don’t recognize it as his voice.
I honestly would put Crispin Freeman as pretty much anyone and expect him to pull it off. However, I think he’d do particularly well as Jasper. Of course, this would make Jasper one of the most charismatic characters on screen per voice alone but in an ideal world this is a more ensemble cast anyway.
Crispin Freeman as Kirei Kotomine in Fate/Zero
Bridget Hoffman as Esme
Bridget Hoffman is able to get across not only great raw emotion but also a clear sense of over the top, artificial, femininity that is very present in Esme. I think she could confer Esme’s general creepiness, as well as her likeability and mother persona, with a young voice very well.
Bridget Hoffman as Irisviel in Fate/Zero (same clip as above)
Rachel Lillis as Rosalie
I know Rachel from a very different role in the dub of “The Revolutionary Girl Utena” as Utena Tenjou. However, her voice is very pleasant to listen to, clear and melodic, and able to carry great emotional weight and pain when necessary. She also sounds very young when needed.
Rachel Lillis as Utena Tenjou in The Revolutionary Girl Utena (note, they start speaking about two minutes in)
Mamoru Miyano as Edward Cullen
And this is where we start drifting from English voice actors. The English dubbed Light Yagami sounds young but, well, he never sold me on the role the way the original Japanese voice actor did. This guy not only sells Light’s inherent creepiness, his charisma, his brilliance, and his sheer threatening persona. There are so many aspects to Light Yagami and the voice actor captures them all.
Many of these same aspects exist in Edward. Edward must at once be appealing, charismatic, terrifying, and completely mad.
Alternatively, David Vincent, who played Gilgamesh in Fate/Zero and most of the modern Fate franchise, and does contempt so damn well with an imposing but very young voice. However, we’re going to put him as Caius for similar reasons.
Mamoru Miyano as Light Yagami in Death Note
David Vincent as Gilgamesh in Fate
Lisa Ortiz as Victoria
Lisa is a phenomenal voice actress I’ve seen carry off a lot of different roles with several different personalities. What brings her to the table for Victoria is what she did with Shiori in the Revolutionary Girl Utena dub. Shiori carries such bitterness that turns itself into madness, and is overall such a desperate and miserable character. Lisa’s voice conveys all of that.
Many of these traits exist in Victoria as a character as well. Bonus that it makes Victoria sound younger and rougher around the edges.
Lisa Ortiz as Shiori in The Revolutionary Girl Utena (same clip as above)
Sarah Anne Williams as Jessica Stanley
Yes, we’re casting Jessica. Sarah played the role of Sayaka in the dub of P3M and greatly conveys a normal human girl who then falls into despair. Jessica doesn’t go quite that far, but I imagine the emotions of the movie disaster with Bella would really come through here with this voice actress.
As well, of course, as Jessica’s later contempt for Bella.
Sarah Anne Williams as Sayaka the Puella Magi Madoka Magica
Takahiro Sakurai as Aro
We get another Japanese voice actor because I can think of no better Aro. Takahiro perfectly portrays an otherworldly, ethreal, presence through his casting as the Medicine Seller in Mononoke. The Medicine Seller has a distinctly different persona than Aro but it’s that otherworldly aspect that I think is needed most of all.
Takahiro Sakurai as The Medicine Seller in Mononoke
Jamieson Price as Emmett
Jamieson is able to relay huge, easy going guy, so easily just through the sound of his voice. He’s not quite so Dudebro in the things I’ve seen him, but you easily get the idea of “huge” as well as someone with good humor and simple tastes in life.
Jamieson Price as Iskander in Fate/Zero
David Vincent as Caius
I brought this up earlier in Edward’s section but as Gilgamesh David Vincent is the king of contempt and disdain. This makes him an excellent and imposing Caius.
David Vincent as Gilgamesh in Fate (Same Clips As Earlier)
Peter O’Toole as Carlisle
Yes, we’re going back in time for this, but I’m not actually in charge of casting this show so I can do what I want. It helps that this was my vote for the live action fan cast of the movie, but beyond his sheer persona, I think his voice also fits Carlisle very well. There’s a whole range of emotion in there while, at its base, being something very charismatic and in certain moments kind.
Peter O’Toole as T.E. Lawrence in Lawrence of Arabia
Christina Valenzuela as Bella Swan
As Homura in the P3M dub, Christina has nerves of steel, but she also does despair so well. I believe she would easily pull off Bella’s depression throughout the series and especially in the New Moon arc.
Christina Valenzuela as Homura Akemi in Puella Magi Madoka Magica
I swear I have a choice for Marcus somewhere in my head, but it’s not immediately coming to mind. I might cast Freeman for him as well, and since Marcus has so few lines and does such different roles so well, probably no one would notice and or care.
So, I’ll quite while I’m ahead.

Askplosion #11:
(note that I know I mentioned a “Voiced Askplosion” last time in the tags for anyone who put a 🎤 in their ask, meaning they wanted to hear me respond verbally to it, but I only got one and it wasn’t anything serious - just a tease from someone I know - so I either won’t be doing it at all or will be holding off)
Asks responding to previous posts:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
ALYA NO!!!
(the idea of Sabrina avoiding not only Ms. Mendeleiev, but also Alya, is very amusing to me)
The fact that the special focuses on the love square instead of Sabrina and Delmar is a crime.
(also note that “Need some help?” is rhetorical in this context; Alya doesn’t care)
Tumblr media
Highly recommended, honestly, otherwise it just turns into a big shame because there are shows I really like but with some content that I don’t like, and why torture myself with it when I can cut it out instead?
Just to give a rough idea, here’s my cut of “Desperada”; mind you, this is just my quick cut of it (basically a “beta” version where I just removed everything I disliked without much care for transitioning/having everything make sense; some of Marinette’s friends talking, the guitar scene, Aspik, etcetera), as I’m not comfortable handing over my “perfect” cut of it since it’s like my personal copy.
Tumblr media
Yeah, that’s a super awkward scene. As much as I’d like to imagine that Adrien just doesn’t understand the “guy time” thing (which I still hate), the fact that they use the word “guy” specifically is--ugh.
I wasn’t aware of what he said in the French dub, so thanks! It’s really painful to see her throw so much love his way, openly and publicly and obviously, then be so humiliated for it, only for Adrien to feel nothing for her.
Say whatever you want about Chat Noir’s advances and how sAAAAAAD he is when she rejects him, but her rejections are just that; in private. There aren’t other heroes who are around and Chat is never really humiliated. Even in “Prime Queen,” Chat wasn’t the target - Ladybug was, and then Ladybug shifted it to Nadja - so Marinette is the one taking all the heat in love while Chat gets to sit on the sidelines (plus, then “Oblivio” happened and now people probably all thing they’re a thing).
Tumblr media
Yeah! That’s the group I was thinking of!
Thank you!
Tumblr media
I’m so sorry that happened. ;—;
I’m not aro but I am ace and I’ve gotten the whole, “oh it’s just because--” stuff before, so I know what it feels like to have people put on the pressure/invalidate you.
Tumblr media
YES.
IT’S GORGEOUS.
Tumblr media
I’m not really familiar with how holidays are celebrated outside of the bare basics of Christmas/New Year (which I am trying my hardest to forget lol), so I couldn’t say.
Sorry!
New Asks:
Tumblr media
10/10 thought, would fantasize again.
Though would also accept MC Audrey just doing some “spring cleaning” of the whole staff in general. I have no idea how she’d replace Jeremy since he’s the company’s poster boy but most of the writers have to go at the very least and Jeremy should be given less power.
Tumblr media
I think MC Audrey would appreciate how Kagami carries herself, though potential bonus if - while Tom and Sabine just openly trust whatever Marinette wants - Audrey does a bunch of digging to make sure Kagami is “worthy” of being with Marinette (she takes this all very seriously).
Double potential bonus if Kagami takes it just as seriously, so here’s Audrey and Kagami acting as if Kagami dating Marinette is like some sort of job interview.
Kagami handing over a “resume” of her accomplishments to Audrey. Audrey has already looked all of it up herself but appreciates the effort put in.
Tumblr media
If the question in Miraculous is, “Do we really need a--” and the thing being introduced is something the staff came up with then the answer is usually “no.”
The movie will look pretty and that’s all I’ll expect. It’s just Jeremy’s take on Miraculous. Luka and Kagami probably won’t even be around so I’m not even interested.
I’ll watch it, but I’m also not interested lol.
Tumblr media
Honestly, I’d rather turn into bubble froth.
Tumblr media
oddly specific but... I mean, damn
Tumblr media
I have no idea, and I try not to throw around words like “spite ship” because I know people could genuinely like the ship, though I will say that I went on AO3 and - unless I read from - the first Maribat fanfiction on there was posted after the airdate of “Chameleon.” I think it might’ve started with inspiration from “Marinette moves schools” ideas at the very least.
Non-Miraculous Asks responding to previous posts:
Tumblr media
Oh, I understood, no worries! It was just funny for the split second it took me to figure it out.
Tumblr media
My bad, that’s not how I meant to come off (especially since “magical girl shows” is a little broad; I mean, obviously I don’t think something like Cardcaptor Sakura is aiming for fanservice when Sakura’s--like... ten). I answered all those asks in the last askplosion in the same day so my brain was a little fried by the time I got to that ask.
I’m not even talking about Sailor Moon either; it’s just that I knew there are shows with fanservice and there are certain magical girl outfits where I kind of give the side-eye.
Absolutely zero problem with girls fighting in pretty outfits though. I fully admit that I’m a bit of a prude so sometimes I see fanservice where there might not be any. Super short skirts without shorts, for example, inherently throw me off (shout-out to Saint Tail - which I discovered while looking up “pretty magical girl outfits” - because the main character does have a skirt in “magical girl” form but also tights/boots and a cute hat, which is one of the more unique ones I’ve seen).
Non-Miraculous Asks:
Tumblr media
Do you mean Sailor Moon Crystal? Yeah, the only reason I hesitate on Sailor Moon in general is because I’m not crazy about the transformed designs. It’s not really a matter of animation but more a design choice that takes me out of the experience.
I have seen all of Cardcaptor Sakura anime though, and then all of the Clear Card arc. I like the former, despise the latter, and I tried to keep up with the manga but once one of the big plot details were revealed, I officially dropped it.
As for Revolutionary Girl Utena, I looked it up a while ago and don’t remember what exactly turned me away. It might’ve been the darker tone though if what you say is accurate that it’s a darker take on a magical girl show.
Also, I may or may not have looked up the ending of at least Princess Tutu and I’m sorry, I’m sure it’s a great anime, but if there isn’t a happy ending then I give whatever anime a hard pass.
(note: yes, I realize the hilarity of saying that when I continue watching Miraculous)
-
(More Madoka Magica talk/salt below!)
Tumblr media
Ohhh, it started a trend? I had no idea since I don’t actively keep up with every anime out there; descriptions need to really pull me in (the only current anime I’m keeping up with is Hanyou no Yashahime, Otherside Picnic, and Cells at Work (Season 2)).
The focus on specific--uh--body parts in magical girl transformations also reminds me that I think that’s usually what kills it for me, not because of the sexualization but because I expect transformations (especially ones that get repeated over and over) to be really dynamic with changing angles and such, which is harder to do when the camera is trying to draw focus to specific places.
Obviously you have to do it for some moments (I’ve always imagined Miraculous transformations like a potential sheep or another one for rabbit, then rabbit!Jean from Leave for Mendeleiev and fox!Juleka from LadyBugOut) because things will be weird if you focus on nothing, but I think there are ways to draw the eye without trying to sexualize.
Not having Ladybug-esque bodysuits is a good start. It reminds me too much of the Catwoman with just a bodysuit so it leaves nothing to the imagination.
Tumblr media
How did I forget about that Sayaka scene? omg (though I dunno if the Bechdel Test is hard to pass if there aren’t really any endgame male love interests? are there rules about that? not saying a pass isn’t a pass but it feels like cheating)
It is nice when fans can respect the opinions of others without having to outright attack. I have had a few people come to me with, “I see your point/respect it even if I disagree,” instead of accusing me/others of--well, you get it.
Fandoms can be really messy, particularly as they get larger. I think there’s a certain balance between small fandoms that all know each other and a big fandom that’s out of control. Then there are things like “loud minority” and it’s just uggggh.
Anyway, back to the asks themselves, yeah, I’m not crazy about taking things that are just meant to be positive/cute/whatever and being like, “OKAY BUT WHAT IF IT WAS EDGY AND SAD.”
n o ,  p l z
Tumblr media
Oh, I’ve never heard of that one!
Sayaka dying didn’t really do anything for me either. It’s hard to explain when I saw it so long ago, but it was just Sayaka’s attitude about the whole thing and it made it feel underwhelming. It was a shame too because I liked her and she had potential.
She was Madoka’s friend so I was just like, “Yeah, she’ll die soon.” Probably didn’t help since I knew what I knew about the show being “dark.”
Tumblr media
Madoka/Sayaka is probably what I’d support the most out of all the potential shoujo ai ships. To my knowledge, none of them are really canon, though I remember a special song after the death Sayaka and Kyoko which I guess makes them the most canon and that did basically nothing for me since their relationship didn’t interest me (nor did I care for Kyoko as a character). The PSP game might have more intimate potential between the girls, but I never played them so I can’t make those claims (I only remember something about everyone potentially living and then a bad ending for Sayaka where part of her body was decayed when they didn’t get her soul gem back in time).
The tomboy argument makes me think back to a conversation with a friend of mine where we were discussing tomboys in anime and... we couldn’t really think of any? At least any that really qualify as “tomboy” for me.
Like, Misty from Pokemon, for example. I knoooooow everyone really likes Misty, but regardless of my opinion on her, it’s hard to see her as a tomboy.
I feel like they try to lean that way by making her super aggressive and violent (because... m E N) and I think Ash makes a comment once about her not being “like a girl,” but... I feel like that’s just how general “aggressive” female characters are written?
I mean, that’s tsundere female characters I’ve seen in general. Really loud (and not in a “gIrlS aRe sO lOuD aND ScReEcHY” way but like... the way anime gives them big heads while they scream at whatever male character they’re mad at), angry a lot, short fuse, etcetera.
But Misty is still crazy about clothes and dolls, she still gushes about cute things and romance, and both of those things seem pretty indicative of what “standard girl character” would be defined by, since they’re all “stereotypically girl thing” (I say stereotypically for obvious reasons since boys can like blah and girls can like blah and gender exclusivity is blah--). I get that she dresses differently, but that’s about it, and it comes off like, “she dresses differently and she’s ANGRY and VIOLENT, so she’s a tomboy,” which... yeah. They even gave her three beauty queen sisters with CURVES and BUSTS as if to say, “See?? These are GIRLS, not TOMBOYS.” (busty females can exist who are also tomboys, thank you have a nice day).
This becomes more complicated in magical girl anime since girly clothes are usually part of that so “tomboy” means that frills and skirts probably wouldn’t be a factor.
I mean, if you gave those sorts of outfits to me, I’d be like, “SCREW IT, I’M NOT A MAGICAL GIRL ANYMORE. IF LOOKING PRETTY IS REDUCED TO SKIRTS AND FRILLS, SOMEONE ELSE CAN SAVE THE WORLD.”
I’d also like to see some mixes between personalites and “tomboy” things. Like, non-stereotypical tomboy personalities doing tomboy things. Mix and match, y’know?
This was really rambly, but to answer the question... no, I wouldn’t count Sayaka as a tomboy.
Tumblr media
All of this.
I think it also exemplifies the whole “dark and edgy magical girl show” thing because... ugh, how do I put this...
The “girls are overly emotional” thing is already bad, but then you realize that there not being any magical boys is also because that doesn’t hit the “shock value” threshold as much.
Y’know, because boys equal dark and edgy shows, so if there was even one magical boy it wouldn’t be as shocking when Mami gets her head chomped. They could’ve done, “emotional teenagers are the target because they’re in that vulnerable stage; smarter and more physically capable than children, but not as mature/stable as adults,” but having some boys in there for balance (it makes me feel weird saying that when I’m all for girl power shows with an all female cast, but in this show’s logic, it’s a different ball game) would make the show seem less bright and “girly” and thus lessen the shock value.
Does that make sense?

Akane:
Deserved so much better
SOMEONE GIVE HER PROPER ED ABOUT SEXUALITY SHE NEEDS IT PLEASE
"It was so dark I couldn't see my food!"
It's kinda relaxing how happy she always is
Her relationship with Nekomaru is 👌
Mikan:
It should be illegal to use her for fanservice.
Needs her own defense squad
Is honestly so cute
Needs a therapy.
Pretty useful tbh
Chiaki:
Waifu material. Obviously.
Was very useful, but It didn't look like such a big deal, unlike in Kyoko's case. Not that I dislike Kirigiri, but I like the fact that they have different energies
Her sleepiness and lags were kinda cute, even though they were caused by her... Unique nature
Her both deaths give me a real heartache
Hiyoko:
Dear little gremlin
I used to dislike her a lot, but her fte helped me understand her.
Give her a normal life, please
Her bond with Mahiru is preciousss
Mahiru:
I watched the dubbing for that one manga chapter and her creating the photoalbum with such passion was honestly so wholesome
One of the most real characters in the cast.
Could be the main character and I wouldn't mind
Could be a good leader
Twogami:
A great leader
Such a good person I can't
He kept his promise.
His bond with Ryota in the anime always made me smile.
His talent is really cool too
Teruteru:
He just wanted to see his momma 😓
Seems like a really aprroachable guy when he's not a total perv

It was Thanksgiving weekend in Canada and I didn’t have anything to do so I rewatched the first DR anime lmao
Now that I’ve actually seen someone play through the first trial, I can definitely see what people meant about the anime leaving a lot of things out.
One thing I couldn’t stop noticing was how the beds in the dorm are in the middle of the room, not touching any of the walls??? Like, that was just so weird.
APPARENTLY I’m a weak ass bitch because I’m like 90% sure I must have started shipping Naegi and Kirigiri after she told him Sayaka may have been trying to protect him when she wrote Leon’s name on the wall because it was just extremely soft for her to go out of her way to do that. And then she blushed while apologizing for getting mad at him for keeping secrets from her and they had their adorable pinky promise and I was completely gone.
I forgot how a lot of the third trial was like. Kind of goofy. And then the stuff with Sakura started and it was So Many Emotions until the end.
The Twist that they actually all knew each other before this is still like. Oof, my heart. Because if you go into it blind the way I did seven years ago, the end credits picture is just a cute “what could have been” picture and then partway through it’s like “surprise motherfuckers, it’s a real picture and it’s from THE PAST and they all FORGOT EACH OTHER” and how fucking dare you?
I also forgot how tense it got in the middle section when Kirigiri kept disappearing to investigate things on her own while Naegi was worrying about her and trying to cover for her. I’m so glad she goes through Character Development and learns to really trust people.
idk if they explain it better in the game, but I like... don’t understand the reasoning behind Togami taking Kirigiri’s room key from her. Like, what does this actually accomplish??? There’s the rule that they're only allowed to sleep in the dorms, so where were they expecting her to sleep???
Kirigiri being a detective is one of my favourite things in the whole story. Just the concept that she’s so uniquely qualified for this game Junko set up that she had to give her an extra handicap is so appealing... And she still played the game better than anyone else did without her memory...
(Side note, Kirigiri throwing her suit jacket off a bridge in DR3 while saying “Because I’m a detective” was the most dramatic shit ever and I was here for that.)
Also, I was wondering why Naegi refers to Kirigiri as “Kiri” in so many fics, like did one person start this headcanon and then it spread, and I just found out that’s what he calls her in the dub and that’s so fucking cute???
Although I can’t really say I like the dub as a whole because Kirigiri comes off as being... much snippier and ruder in it. Like, part of the appeal of her character for me is how calmly and evenly she speaks because it’s so soothing (which I think I’ve read is something she does on purpose so people will be able to rely on her when things are going to shit) and it ends up making her more emotional moments stand out more. On the other hand, in the parts of the dub I watched, it feels like she’s kind of yelling at everyone all the time lmao

Some Tweets Remember Keiji Fujiwara
Keiji Fujiwara died of cancer at the age of 55. The news was devastating for the seiyuu community. Many seiyuu are remembering and looking back on their times with Fujiwara and the impact he made on them. A lot of anime I’ve watched wouldn’t have been the same without Fujiwara. From Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood to Dr. Stone, he shaped a lot of characters that I look back and smile thinking about.

Taketatsu Ayana (Taketatsu and Fujiwara both voiced characters in Dagashi Kashi and co hosted a series of bonus videos released with the Blu-rays of the series)
Fujiwara Keiji-san.
When we had a photograph session together for a TV show, even though you said, "I'm shy, so I can't really talk much," after the session started and I was nervous you kindly threw me a lifeline and chatted with me a lot, and even at live events and such you've saved me so much.
I wanted to spend more time with you.
I wanted to thank you directly.
_______
Seki Tomokazu (Seki and Fujiwara both voiced characters for the same series several times including PSYCHO-PASS, Sengoku BASARA, and Hajime no Ippo)
The way you looked when you came to the studio with your script sticking out of your back pocket was so cool, and I often copied you. When we went to karaoke together, I would put on a song that had a video of your acting as a prank and put you in a bind so many times. I wanted to play around with you again. This feels too soon... Fujiwara-san. Truly, thank you for everything.
_______
Ogata Megumi
I've had the honor of working with you on various, many sets but... my strongest impression, is actually not from an anime, but from the drama CD "Radical Hospital".
Dr. Sakaki... Please say it's a joke like you always do...?
Fujiwara Keiji-san. Truly, thank you for everything. Please rest peacefully.
_______
Ise Mariya (Ise and Fujiwara both voiced main characters in HUNTER X HUNTER, and Ise references Fujiwara's role as Leorio in this tweet)
What I remember is His white shirt and the sunglasses he wore His gallant figure standing before the microphone His bashful smile when having friendly conversations His stylish behavior when everyone goes drinking Both his voice and his acting were so cool Everything about him was wonderful
Keiji-san really felt like Leorio to me I have so many pleasant and fun memories Thank you so much
_______
Shimazaki Nobunaga
Fujiwara Keiji-san, I pray from my heart that you rest in peace.
_______
Morikubo Showtaro
The tears won't stop.
_______
Inoue Marina
His voice, his acting, his smile, I loved them all.
_______
Park Romi (Park and Fujiwara both voiced important characters in Fullmetal Alchemist)
He just recovered...
Be it with Hagane, or Muji, or FA he was everyone's older brother...
He truly was Lieutenant Colonel Hughes.
Early Far too early...
Kei-chan You fought hard against what ailed you... Please rest well...
Your casual comments Even now I treasure.
Tonight I honor you...
I pray you rest in peace...
Notes: I'm not positive, but I believe in regards to the second line
"Hagane" likely refers to the first airing of Fullmetal Alchemist in 2003 that used the title 「鋼の錬金術師」 (Hagane no Renkinjutsushi).
"Muji" seems like it refers to Zoids, the first Zoids anime series that is often referred to colloquially as "Muji Zoids", "No Label Zoids", to differentiate it from other Zoid series. In this series, Fujiwara voiced Irvine, a main supporting character and older brother figure to the main characters.
"FA" likely refers to the second airing of Fullmetal Alchemist in 2009 that used the titled 「鋼の錬金術師 FULLMETAL ALCHEMIST」 and thus is sometimes referred to as "FA".
_______
Hanae Natsuki
This is too sad...
_______
Toshiyuki Toyonaga
My heart aches... The words won't come out...
_______
Inoue Kazuhiko
Eh, Fujiwara Keiji... No way. It's too early. I remembered well the times we worked together in the studio. It's too early. I'm so saddened.
_______
Kaji Yuuki (Kaji and Fujiwara both voiced characters for the same series several times including Magi and Shingeki no Kyojin)
Keiji-san. I wanted to talk with you more. Wouldn't it be wonderful if I had a father like you, if I could become a man like you, that kind of stuff, always, I thought to myself... I should have told you so. I wanted to talk with you more. I'm full of regret. I want to see you.
_______
Yasumoto Hiroki
Words don't suffice. He was cool. Truly. We had talked about him visiting my place and drinking some unopened wine.
_______
Nakata Jouji First tweet, and reply
He was shy and gave off the impression that he didn't like superficial relationships, but when I tried talking to him he replied with a bashful smile, that's what I recall. When I heard he returned to work and was doing independent work, I thought on my own that he was doing well, but... You must have had it hard, huh. However, you weren't the kind of person to say that out loud... You stayed true to yourself until the very end. I pray for you.
I wanted to meet with you and talk with you again.
_______
Konishi Katsuyuki
No way. When I was a fledgling, because his place was in the neighborhood he invited me for a meal, and I was really happy about that. I wanted to meet with you again.
_______
Shouta Aoi
I can no longer meet you again. By all means, I wanted to meet you again.
Just how much encouragement I received from the acting of that wonderful voice I grew accustomed to hearing from a young age.
From now on and always that wonderful voice of yours will remain in our hearts and ears.
Thank you for all the wonderful times you gave us.
_______
Ono Kensho
Fujiwara Keiji-san. He really is cool, and he is someone I look up to. We have the same birthday, and on my own I felt like we had an affinity... I pray from my heart that you rest in peace.

I pray from my heart that you rest in peace.

Kei-chan, I'm so sad.
You fought against illness for a long time... You truly gave it your all. Please rest well in heaven.
I won't forget your shy, bashful, and kind smile.
_______
Koshimizu Ami (Koshimizu and Fujiwara both voiced important characters in Eureka 7, and Koshimizu references her role as Anemone and Fujiwara's role as Holland in this tweet, as well as Tsujitani Kouji who voiced Dewey Novak in Eureka 7 and passed away in 2018)
Dewey and Holland, please stay a little longer.
I want you to stay. I wanted you to stay.
If you're not there, we can't fly freely...
Because you were there, we were able to live freely.
Thank you but I still don't want to say goodbye.
Sorry that Anemone is like this. If I could say one selfish thing please come back...
_______
Han Megumi (Han and Fujiwara both voiced main characters in HUNTER X HUNTER, and Han references Fujiwara's role as Leorio in this tweet)
Just last night, during HUNTER's rebroadcast, we just saw off Leorio as he departed for his trip, Fujiwara-san.
Family and comrade, always thinking of his friends and a warm man, a perfect fit, my beloved senpai.

Fujiwara Keiji-san. I had the honor of working with you for 1 year on Go-Busters, you were always so cool on set, it was my first dubbing experience and I learned so much from you. I wanted to work with you again. I pray from my heart that you rest in peace.
_______
Ryotaro Okiayu
I participated in "Hoshi Koe" at the Saitama venue last year, and you attended, Fujiwara-san.
I read your letters.
The last time I met you was back stage there.
It had been several years before then.
That's how it goes.
Thanks so much for everything.
Note: Hoshi Koe is the name of a series of events held in Japan by AIR AGENCY, a talent management and production company founded by Fujiwara Keiji in 2006.
_______
Kenjiro Tsuda
His white shirt His light colored sunglasses His cynical smile His casual way of walking into the studio His unshaven face His still shadow at Planetarium His husky voice His retreating figure as he left His appearance in a coat when he slowly spoke in his last moments
was cool
Thank you so much
Note: Planetarium is likely also referencing Hoshi Koe, which was held at planetariums in various cities in Japan.
_______
Yamamoto Nozomi
We acted together for the first time in UN-GO, and a while later when I greeted you at another set, you remembered me, saying, "I've met you before, right?" After that, when on the set for Utawarerumono you noticed my Ironman iPhone case and chatted with me, I was truly happy about each and every thing. I pray that you rest in peace.
_______
Kondo Kanako
I can't believe it. I really liked your cool roughness. Fujiwara-san. I pray that you rest in peace.
_______
Kudou Haruka
Is it because of the air pressure that my head hurts, or because I cried too much that my head hurts, I can't sort out my feelings. However, more than these sad feelings, I want to say so many times, "thank you."
Fujiwara-san.
We were together for my seiyuu debut work "Honey and Clover", and from there with "Noein" and "DEATH NOTE", our work together continued. I didn't know my right hand from my left, and you gave me so much advice.
On set you always spoiled me, listening to my trivial chatter with a smile.
I entered college, and even when I cut off all ties to the industry up to that point and distanced myself from work, every half a year you would send me a message asking "Are you doing all right?"
I entered my fourth year of college, and when I said to you, "I want to return to work!" you got a little angry, but you earnestly heard me out. Even though I caused trouble to a lot of people, you saying "Welcome Back!" with a smile has always supported me.
4 years after returning to work, when I was worried that I wasn't doing as well as I had hoped, you said "It'll be all right!" and gave me a push on the back, and I was able to move forward.
I really have been spoiled by you for so so long.
You taught me so many things, I couldn't hope to write them all out. About acting, about movies, about novels, about life.
Even now I still have the novel I received from you right on my bookshelf. From now on, every time I watch a Kubrick or Victor Erice movie, I feel I will remember you.
The fact that there will no longer be replies to my messages, and the fact that I can no longer see you, really really make me sad, but you will always be in my heart. It's all right. I'm an adult now, too. I want to become an adult like you, someone who is loved by many, and someone who can guide others.
Thank you so much.
_______
Harada Hitomi (Harada and Fujiwara both voiced characters for Senran Kagura, and Harada references Fujiwara's role as Kiriya in this tweet)
Keiji-san. Kiriya-sensei.
I've been helped, so much by you. Thank you so much.
_______
Tomita Miyu
Fujiwara Keiji-san, I had the honor of acting together with you for the first time in Kotobuki Hikoutai. Warm, and yet mischievous, I truly loved acting with that voice of yours.
I pray from my heart that you rest in peace.
_______
Hatano Wataru
Fujiwara Keiji-san. Across various works, I've been in your debt. When you called me for "Hoshi Koe", I was really happy. The warm advice from a senpai I look up to, and the smile after a recording session. I couldn't possibly forget. I pray that you rest in peace.
_______
Abe Atsushi
I've been in your debt since when I debuted. I see... We can't act together anymore...

I'm thankful that I had the honor of working on the same set as you. Thank you so much.

_______
Akao Hikaru (Akao and Fujiwara both voiced characters for Back Street Girls, and Akao references this in this tweet)
I'm still in disbelief even after a new day has dawned and I can't quite get the right words. I feel like a hole opened up in my heart. Since I was young through anime you showed me this fun world and as a member of Gokudols, I looked forward to the day I could meet you again.
I pray that you rest well.
_______
Ishikawa Yui (Ishikawa and Fujiwara both voiced characters for Shingeki no Kyojin, and Ishikawa references Fujiwara's role as Hannes in this tweet)
[Yui] That voice that I heard so many times when I was a child. Shingeki's Hannes-san was also, rough, cool, and warm... I loved him. Fujiwara Keiji-san, I pray that you rest in peace.
_______
Yukana
I wanted to act together with you more.
Thank you so much...
I pray that you rest in peace.

Title: I'm sorry
I was planning to talk about trust and play today, but I hope you'll allow me to do that tomorrow.
I had the honor of doing my first radio show with him. When I was unable to speak well, he laughed at me. When we were recording for the Ao no Exorcist movie and from the start all I was capable of was shouting, he laughed at me. When I kept wearing the same clothes on the set of To Aru, he laughed at me. When I look back on things, it might have been sarcastic laughing, but I only remember the figure of him laughing. And, I'm sorry for causing you so much trouble.
His appearance as an actor, the way he thought about and interpreted the script, what he brought forth, I received so much encouragement and experience from him.
Keiji-san, Truly, truly, thank you so much. I really I love you.
Thank you for everything.
I pray from my heart that you rest in peace.
Notes:
The radio show Okamoto references I believe is "Sorairo Radio", a radio show promoting the anime "Sola" that aired from 2007/3/30 to 2007/7/27 for 19 episodes. During the month of July Okamoto and Fujiwara co-hosted the show.
Okamoto and Fujimura voiced Okamura Rin, the protagonist, and Fujimoto Shiro, Rin's adoptive father, respectively in Ao no Exorcist.
Okamoto and Fujimura voiced Accelerator, a main supporting character, and Kihara Amata, something of a mentor figure to Accelerator, respectively in To Aru Majutsu no Index.

Title: The carnation that arrived at my house 2 weeks ago ☆
At my last place, even plants said to be robust I ended up letting die (>_<) However, ever since I started living at my new place my plants have been really lively! My care for flowers especially has gotten better! Proper ventilation and sunlight really are important after all (laugh)

I found out about Fujiwara Keiji passing away. I had the honor of working together with him for various works, during my first public performance at Tokyo Dome he provided wonderful narration, and at the planetarium in my home prefecture I had the honor of performing together with him... Truly I was blessed with so many irreplaceable experiences. I pray from my heart that you rest in peace.
Notes:
The performance at Tokyo Dome is referencing NANA MIZUKI LIVE CASTLE 2011, a series of live concerts performed at Tokyo Dome by Mizuki Nana on 2011/12/3 and 2011/12/4. Fujiwara provided narration for a short film called PLANETARIUM "Princess Nana of the Heavens" (PLANETARIUM「天界の奈々姫」) which was shown during the concert on both days.
The performance at the planetarium is referencing when Fujiwara and Mizuki co-starred in a Hoshi Koe performance held on 2016/4/24 at the Matsuyama City General Community Center Cosmo Theater. Matsuyama is the capital of the Ehime Prefecture, and Mizuki Nana was born in Niihama, Ehime. Mizuki had also made two blog posts about enjoying rehearsing for the event with Fujiwara and celebrating the successful completion of the event.

Title: Fujiwara Keiji-san...
Fujiwara Keiji-san... I pray you rest in peace.
It's too sudden. My mind is a mess. Even though I'm someone who works at my own pace... ... Right now, I'm overcome with feelings of loss.
From the time when I was a newcomer, we've been walking together through the ages for over 30 years. As an actor, and as a president, you were truly a friend... Since you were young you were shy and cool, overflowing with chivalry, an existence that even men were charmed by that is "Fujiwara Keiji"
..., It's so painful... the words won't come out. I'm sorry.
I feel that you really must have had it tough fighting against your illness. Now, please rest well.
And, the letters you sent me I will always cherish.
Morikawa Toshiyuki

Title: Keiji-san...
Keiji-san... It's a lie, right...? It's a joke, right...?
This... is too sad...
Keiji-san as a person, as a man, as an actor, you were someone who I respected from the bottom of my heart.
Everything about you was cool, you were someone I admired.
I wanted to learn more and more about various things from you.
Even now I clearly remember the time when on the set of the anime "Shakugan no Shana," as the role of the father, Kantarou, you kindly covered up for and accepted my terrible acting.
Keiji-san, "Dad, thank you so much for everything up to now"
While reflecting on each and every thing I learned from you, I will devote myself towards the sake of the future of the seiyuu industry.
I pray you rest in peace.
Note: Hino and Fujimura voiced Sakai Yuuji, the protagonist, and Sakai Kantarou, Yuuji's father, respectively in Shakugan no Shana.

Title: Letter
I hate the idea of something getting overshadowed without anyone knowing about it, so I will write about it here.
Since we first met when I was 19, I've been in your debt for a long time. Since before we started having work together, you'd hear out my concerns and give me advice, and go along with my selfish requests to take me along for drinks. Even though you'd always say, "Waddaya want now, Tattsun," you'd always keep your promises. Whenever we met at the studio you'd always be giving off a pleasant, lazy mood. When you were the sound director you'd say things like "Tattsun, you're the only person I can ask for this," things that I couldn't tell if you were being serious or not. It's only now that I can say this, but I took you seriously every time, and every time I was seriously happy you asked me. The fact that you said those things to me.
Sometimes I'd tell you about how people say that our voices or our acting are similar, and even though you'd reply by saying stuff like, "What? That's gross," behind your sunglasses I could see that the look in your eyes always softened happily. I like chatting in the smoking area, so anytime I'd spot you I'd head straight there. When you'd say, "Yo!" to me, it was a little embarrassing, but I was always happy you did.
I won't talk about acting. That's something I'll keep locked away in my heart.
I know you had it tough. However, I stopped talking about it. Since you hate that.
All I can remember, is you always saying, "Yo! Tattsun," every time you saw me. Gimme a break, let me remember something else, too.
Thank you for always listening to my selfish requests. Thank you for always listening to both my trivial ramblings and my serious talks.
I always thought you were an annoyingly cool old man. You were always the best. You were always the strongest.
Everything about you is cool. So I envy you.
When I go over there, I'm gonna have a ton of stories for you. Before I do, please make sure to find some good sake and tobacco over there. It might take a while, but I'm definitely going to have, a ton I want to talk to you about.
It's about time I wrapped things up. This is a letter that will never be read by its recipient, after all, so there's no point in going on for too long.
Let's meet again with a smile. Anytime, anywhere.
With love.

If Danganronpa: Another Despair Academy had an English cast
So I recently made a post very similar to this where I talked about who a hypothetical English voice cast for Our World Is Ended would be. I kind of enjoyed making that post, so I decided to do something similar with the cast of a Danganronpa fan game that has been featured prominently on my chanel and that’s the Danganronpa: Another series. Being a Korean fan game, the original dub of Danganronpa Another has barely any dialogue to speak of. In fact, the only two characters in the series who speak often are Yuki and Sora, the protagonists of the two games, but that’s when they’re in trials. As of right now, a group of people is working on an English dub for the second game. This is why I’m specifically going to talk about the first game in the series, and bare in mind 2 things.
1) There will be some pretty heavy spoilers that I talk about in this post, so if you’re going to read it, please play the game, watch a playthrough or read up on it first.
2) If by any chance the first game gets a dub and the following people I do mention end up voicing the characters, I assure you it is purely coincidental. I wouldn’t even call this a hypothetical scenario so much as I’d call it a basic thought process of my weird weird mind.
Without further ado, let’s begin.
Yuki Maeda: Yuri Lowenthal
Tumblr media
In the current dub for the second game, Yuki is being voiced by a user by the name of Soluri, who is pretty talented in their right, but my thought process for an alternative voice actor would be this. Yuki as a protagonist takes a very similar standing as Makoto Naegi and Hajime Hinata, whom are voiced by Bryce Papenbrook and Johnny Yong Bosch respectively, so if I was given a choice to choose who could voice act him, then I think Yuri Lowenthal would be a fitting choice, since he’s also often voiced protagonists. Being someone who often does work in famous franchises, his voice work includes Marth from Fire Emblem, Yosuke Hanamura in Persona, Ben Tennyson in many Ben 10 works, Klavier Gavin in Ace Attorney, Simon in Gurren Lagann and Suzaku from Code Geass. However, he’d also be a fitting choice since I believe he’d be able to do a good job as both the somwhat cowardly and submissive Yuki as well as the mysterious and somewhat stoically dangerous Utsuro, as he is also the main VA for Sasuke in Naruto and Alucard in Castlevania.
Akane Taira: Monica Rial
Tumblr media
Akane’s basic character throughout the majority of the game is that she’s lighthearted and even though the killing game is getting to her just as much as everyone else, she still finds a way to lighten the atmosphere, and is a usually cheery and kind person, if a little scary when angry. However, her true nature is something much more freakish, being, in actuality, the mastermind behind the aforementioned killing game that she spends a lot of the game seemingly fighting against. For an English VA, I think the best bet is Monica Rial, who has previously voiced in Danganronpa as Sayaka Maizono in the Danganronpa anime. The reason for my choice is she has previously voiced usually nice, if a little stern, characters like Bulma from Dragon Ball, Tsuyu Asui from My Hero Academia, May Chang from Full Metal Alchemist, Tsubaki from Soul Eater, Kayano from Assassination Classroom, Mirajane Strauss from Fairy Tale and Sakura from CardCaptor Sakura. However, she’s not one to shy away from maniacal villains, or generally creepy characters either, also voicing Tanya from Saga of Tanya the Evil, Krul Tepes from Seraph of the End or Stocking from Panty and Stocking. Also doing the voice of Misaki Ayuzawa from Maid Sama and Mey-rin in Black Butler, she’s not new to voicing maid characters.
Tsurugi Kinjo: Crispin Freeman
Tumblr media
Having already done voice work in a main Danganronpa game, albeit for a very unlikable character, I ruled out Matthew Mercer for this one. I can only really describe Tsurugi as the Nagito Komaeda of this series. He has good intentions, but a really messed up way of thinking, even at times quite self-deprecating and reflecting on his own incapabilities to stop the killing game and catch the mastermind. Like I already said, he seems like he’d be voiced by a deep voiced character like Matt Mercer, but when it comes to characters like that, Crispin Freeman is a safe bet. Some of the rightous and/or badass characters that he’s lent his voice to include Winston from Overwatch, Kyon in the Haruhi Suzumiya series, Tsume in Wolf’s Rain and more, but can also do a pretty good crazy character every once in a while, like Alucard from Hellsing, Itachi Uchiha from Naruto and Firefly in the Batman Arkham Series.
Rei Mekaru: Laura Post
Tumblr media
Admittedly, I was considering Monica Rial for this crude and shrewd character too. Mature and professional to a fault, barely showing any sort of real emotion and often insulting the other killing game participants for seemingly no reason, Rei is basically Another 2′s Byakuya Togami, intelligent, but rude. Having previously voiced condescending characters, Laura Post is a pretty good choice. I’m referring mostly to characters like Kill La Kill’s Ragyo Kiryuin and Fubuki/Blizzard from Hell from One Punch Man, as well as Diana Cavendish from Little Witch Academia and one of her first ever performances, Queen Nehelenia from Sailor Moon. However, Laura Post has also voiced rather gentle and friendly characters before, which would be a good way to highlight Rei’s secret soft side. Characters like Nozomi Tojo from Love Live and her most recent role, Kasumi Yoshizawa from Persona 5 Royal.
Haruhiko “Haru”  Kobashikawa: Sam Riegal
Tumblr media
The minute I was introduced to him, I immediately thought, “Ok, he’s going to be the Kazuichi of this game isn’t he?” And to be honest, I don’t think I was that far off. However, even so, he seems more like Kaito if Kaito wasn’t necessarily a central character. Haru’s important, but he’s on the same level of importance as a character like say...Game 1 Toko. A sociable person who’s only goal is to get along well with everyone, he’s cheerful, laid back and more often than not pretty amusing to watch. Someone I believe to be fit for the role, having previously voiced a repertoire of pretty dorky and likeable characters, is Sam Riegal. By that, I mean he’s done the voice work of Teddy from Persona, Phoenix Wright in Ace Attorney, Emperor Awesome in Wander of Yonder,  Kanata from Trinity Universe, Shirou Emiya from Fate/Stay Night and Donatello in a large number of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles works.
Teruya Otori: Kyle McCarly
Tumblr media
Teruya is a character that returns for the second game, and his voice actor in that is NuzikVA. I was really stuck on this one, since Yuri Lowenthal, whom I picked for Yuki, was my main option for Teruya too, but my second option for him would be just as viable. One of Teruya’s most important aspects to his character is that he has a pretty unique western accent despite being Japanese, since his Ultimate Merchant talent means he’s travelled the world and picked up on a few things. On top of that, he’s pretty adorkable and a little childish. I’ve heard Yuri Lowenthal do accents before, which is why I considered it, but I figured anything Yuri Lowenthal can do, Kyle McCarly can do just as well, if not better. He’s a voice actor who’s lines are packed full of expression and some of his previous work includes 9S from Neir: Automata, Hyde in Cross Tag Battle, Hal in Astral Chain, Gatekeeper in Fire Emblem Three Houses and Narancia in JoJo Part 5.
Satsuki Iranami: Deva Marie Gregory
Tumblr media
While she was a character that I found initially very irritating and she was definitely the one I had to warm to the most, I won’t deny that Satsuki Iranami is like 70% of the humour and happiness in this game. Similarly to Ibuki, she tends to act childish and make jokes in very tense situations and as described by Yuki as “a person that makes you tired just by talking with her” or something along those lines. Now, this might seem like a pretty obscure and strange choice for a VA, but my choice for a voice is Deva Marie Gregory. It’s obscure, since she is relatively new to the voice acting industry, only voicing one character in one franchise so far. However, that character is Flayn from Fire Emblem Three Houses, arguably one of the characters with the more comedic dialogue. I can totally picture her playing an “In-your-face” practical joker character like Satsuki, making common wisecracks, and it’s something I’d really like to bear witness to.
Mitsuhiro “Mitch” Higa: Joe Brogie
Tumblr media
Possibly my least favourite character in this game, he’s essentially a worse version of Leon Kuwata from the first game. He’s genuinely kind of a chill guy, but his status as the Ultimate Soccer Player and his world fame makes him more than a little arrogant and cocky and often ignores people who he doesn’t care for. Joe Brogie is my choice for him, despite being a relatively new voice actor. His previous work includes the player character from God Eater 3, Linus from Fire Emblem Heroes, Donatello from Injustice 2 and Sylvain Jose Gautier from Fire Emblem Three Houses. However, despite his few roles and lacking history of voices, he’s talented and capable nonetheless.
Kizuna Tomori: Tia Ballard
Tumblr media
Kizuna can be described in the following words: Cutesy, flirtatious and distrustful. I know those phrases sound mutually exclusive to each other, but trust me, it’s true. Obviously, her nature just changes depending on the situation, since she’s lighthearted and merry more often than not, but in a tense situation becomes suspicious, snappy and even physically violent. I picture her having a high voice, and when taking her character into account, I think the best bet is Tia Ballard. The main reason for my choice is that Tia’s most common voices belong to generally “moe” anime girls, but she voices them in a way that doesn’t sound annoyingly high pitched like how Stephanie Sheh does with Mikan in Danganronpa 2. If Ballard voiced Kizuna, she could pretty much perfectly land the “cutesy at first, but angry when provoked” attitude that Kizuna has. Some of her previous work includes Marron from Dragon Ball, Happy from Fairy Tail, Chiho Sasaki from The Devil is a Part Timer, Takao from D-Frag, Zero Two from Darling in the Franxx and has actually voiced in Danganronpa previously as Daisaku Bandai in Danganronpa 3.
Mikako Kurokawa: Brittany Cox
Tumblr media
Extremely similarly to my choice for Satsuki, my choice for Mikako has also only ever been in one game, and it’s the same game as my choice for Satsuki actually. Mikako is a quiet person and she isn’t much of a talker, and when she does she sticks to short replies after long periods of silence, often causing people to forget she's around or becoming surprised when she eventually speaks up. She is unresponsive in a conversation and avoids making eye contact with anyone she talks to which seems rude, but her past explains why. The character Brittany Cox plays in Three Houses is Ingrid Galatea, who is generally a pretty merry, if a little serious and motherly, character, who’s personality isn’t a quiet one. However, while her voice acting is really good, Brittany Cox has a bit of a stoic, monotone and quiet voice, that I believe would fit Mikako perfectly.
Kinji Uehara: Robbie Daymond
Tumblr media
There were a few reasons why I chose this person for this characters voice, but I’ll talk about those in a moment. Kinji is the good type of priest, one who is serious and quiet, but is a good listener, and respectful of people to a point where he doesn’t force his religious ideals onto others. However, when put under immense amounts of pressure, he can break down and turn somewhat psychotic. Hence my choice for his voice actor. Robbie Daymond is a personal favourite of mine, since he has a special talent of playing characters such as Goro Akechi and Hubert Vestra, from Persona and Three Houses respectively; characters who for the most part are calm, reserved, quiet and in Akechi’s case, somewhat kind. However, after certain points in the games stories, the two characters turn inexplicably evil and crazy, and the voice work and the shift in tone has such an amazing range that it’s hard to believe it’s the same guy. Seriously, look up Daymond’s work as Akechi, it’s honestly amazing and is the type of voice I’d honestly expect for Kinji when he breaks down. Alongside those two roles, Daymond also voices Prompto in Final Fantasy 15, Reinhard in RE:Zero, Professor Willow in Pokemon, Gilthunder in Nanatsu No Taizai and Mumen Rider in One Punch Man.
Kiyoka Maki: Colleen Clinkenbeard
Tumblr media
A girl with a personality that doesn’t match her talent, Kiyoka Maki is outgoing and carefree and doesn’t have an awful lot of care for her talent, being way more interested in more effeminate things than guns. When I first saw Kiyoka and was introduced to her character, for some reason I thought “This is the type of character Colleen Clinkenbeard would voice.” Originally I was going to cast Clinkenbeard as Teruya before I realised Teruya wouldn’t necessarily have a child-like voice. Clinkenbeard however, does have experience of voicing male anime characters, and a lot of characters that scream a lot, Monkey D. Luffy from One Piece and Young Gohan being the prime examples. Alongside that, she’s also voiced another gunslinger in Full Metal Alchemist as Riza Hawkeye, as well as Momo Yaoyorozu in My Hero Academia, Rachel Moore in Case Closed, Erza Scarlet in Fairy Tail and previously in Danganronpa 3 as the loveable Chisa Yukizome.
Ayame Hatano: Karen Strassman
Tumblr media
Ayame is a stoic and strong-willed person. Although she appears to be perfectly calm in most situations, she admits that she can be awkward especially during conversations, and as a result, she has a tendency to ramble and wander off in her own, or not talk much at all. To me, she seems like a character that someone like Karen Strassman would lend her voice to, since she’s played several characters with those personality traits before. To name a few, there’s Aigis and Nanako from Persona and she’s also voiced Anna in several Fire Emblem games. She’s also played Kallen Stadtfeld in Code Geass, Miyuki Takara in Lucky Star and Rouge the Bat in several Sonic the Hedghog games.
Kanata Inori: Felicia Angelle
Tumblr media
I was also considering casting Tia Ballard for this character too, but unlike Kizuna, Kanata genuinely seems like a moe character that would have a high voice. Kanata is a sweet girl who wishes nothing more than the comfort of her patients and everyone else around her. Exceedingly formal and polite, she addresses her classmates as Mr or Ms, like how Hifumi Yamada does in the first game. My choice for her is Felicia Angelle, who’s repertoire consists of both cute and geeky anime girls, as well a little bit of the scary stuff too. This includes Tohru Hagakure from My Hero Academia, Perona from One Piece, The Supreme Kai of Time from Dragon Ball Xenoverse, Shinoa Hiragi from Seraph of the end, Shaltear from Overlord, Georgie from Maid Dragon and has previously been in the Danganronpa anime, playing Aoi Asahina.
Kakeru Yamaguchi: J Michael Tatum
Tumblr media
I have a pretty good reason for this cast. Becoming a legal prodigy when he was quite young, Kakeru is a character who seems to have a split personality, but on a level way less extreme than that of Toko Fukawa. Essentially, he’s usually quite a timid and shy person, that finds it hard to hold a conversation, but when he’s in the courtroom or a class trial, he becomes quite loud and brash in a way similar to that of Nekomaru in the second game. His personality reminds me that of characters like Tenya Iida from My Hero Academia and Rei Ryugazaki from Free! both of whom are voiced by J Michal Tatum, whom is my choice for Kakeru. Tatum has also voiced Zarbon from Dragon Ball, Commander Erwin from Attack on Titan, Rintaro Okabe from Steins:Gate, Scar from Full Metal Alchemist, France from Hetalia and Sebastian from Black Butler.
Yamato Kisaragi: Max Mittleman
Tumblr media
Yamato is almost as crazy an inventor as Miu, sans the whole sexual and perverted invention parts. Being a character who’s introduced a little later into the story, Yamato is pretty quirky, energetic and honestly friendly, but that leads people to be a little doubtful of him, Tsurugi in particular. His energetic character and his genuine feel make me think that someone who could voice him is Max Mittleman. Mittleman’s previous voices include Plag from Miraculous Ladybug, Ryuji Sakamoto from Persona, Saitama from One Punch Man, King from Natatsu No Taizai, Meruem in HunterXHunter and more
So that’s what I got. If you liked this, then leave me a heart and repost if you want. If you have any other recommendations for Japanese exclusive projects I should assign voice actors to, then let me know.

THH Sayaka Maizono FTEs [WIP]
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Introduction
Sayaka: Hi, I'm Sayaka Maizono, she/her. I look forward to getting to know you!
Sayaka smiles cheerfully. Her posture makes her look approachable and delicate. Her lapis blue hair flows to her knees, while her bangs shroud the truth of her eyes, seeming too doll-like to be real.
Sayaka: Makoto...? Are you alright? You zoned off for a second there...
Ah, right! I forgot to respond!
Makoto: S-Sorry! I'm- Wait, you already knew my name?
Sayaka: Oh, yeah! You went to Dusk Middle School, right?
Makoto: I did! Now that you mention it, were you in class-
Before I could finish my question, someone interjected.
Kiyotaka: Excuse me! Self-introductions are for introducing yourself, not bumbling through a bunch of idle chit-chat!
Sayaka: O-Oh, right... Sorry, Makoto, we're going to have to talk later.
I nod, and go on to talk to the next person. It's so shocking to see the Sayaka Maizono standing right in front of me, talking to me. She's actually in my class at Hope's Peak Academy! Sayaka Maizono is the newly dubbed SHSL Pop Sensation. She's the lead singer of the idol group Sweet Daydream. Everywhere I go, I'm bound to see commercials, magazine covers, or merchandise of her and her group. Although we were cut short... I can hardly hold back a smile! I didn't think she'd actually remember me from middle school.
Tumblr media
Free Time Event 1
Sayaka: Having you here really makes me feel a lot better, like I have someone that I can count on. If you weren't here with me, I just don't know what I'd do. I'd be lost... I hate that we had to meet again under such awful conditions, but...I'm relieved you're with me.
Makoto: Sayaka...
I couldn't believe I meant that much to someone like her. No, just her. I guess under circumstances like this, it counts to have someone you can put your utmost trust in.
Makoto: I... know how you feel. I was so nervous that I was going to be alone in such a prestigious school- well, now this "game", I guess. But, having you and Toko here really helped me keep my cool.
At the mention of Toko's name, Sayaka's lazuli eyes seemed to flicker with a different emotion than I'm used to from her. I couldn't tell what exactly it was, whether it was worry or sorrow, but she switched back to her sunny smile just as quickly.
Sayaka: Ehehe… I'm glad I could help you in the same way you helped me.
Sayaka glanced down at the floor for a split second, then looked me dead in the eyes. Not in a creepy way, at least it didn't feel like it. It was almost as if she had been wanting to say something for the longest time, but never had the opportunity.
Sayaka: ...It's kind of strange, you know? I never thought I'd get a chance to really talk to you like this. Speaking of which, you were trying to ask me something during our introductions, right?
Makoto: Oh, yeah! I wanted to ask if you were in class 2 at Dusk Middle School?
Sayaka: Yes, I was! And you were in class 1, right?
Makoto: Yeah! I-I can't believe you remember some kid like me.
Sayaka: Of course I do! You weren't just "some kid", I saw you at just about every school event. Almost every pep rally, club event, assembly… During our first year, you even got a bird out of the school pond when it landed right in front of the teacher! What kind was it again..?
A huge bird wandered into the school pond during our first year of junior high… I think it might have been...
[HERON] - wrong
[SPARROW] - wrong
[CRANE] - correct
Makoto: It was a crane, right?
Sayaka: Yes, that was it!
Makoto: Haha! It just walked right into the pond without a care in the world..!
Sayaka: And it was so big, the teacher didn't know what to do! But… you led it into the forest like it was nothing. It was really admirable how you handled the situation…
Her cheeks flushed slightly as she spoke, and I felt mine do the same.
Makoto: O-Oh, it was nothing, really..!
I only led it out of the pond because the teachers made me. I was already in charge of taking care of the animals at school, so they just shoved me towards any situations involving animals.
Sayaka: It actually reminded me of that old legend of the man who saved a crane, and received a cloak of its feathers in return.
Makoto: Oh, really?
Sayaka: Mhm! Cranes are actually a symbol of good fortune in a lot of stories. So maybe instead of a cloak made of feathers, the crane granted you the chance to become the SHSL Luckster!
Makoto: Haha, is that really a good thing, though..? I mean, we ended up in this place…
Sayaka: I mean, we got to meet again, didn't we?
She smiled, it was mysterious but still just as enticing as all of her previous smiles. I felt myself smiling, too. Every time I'm around her, I feel like I can be happy no matter what circumstance we're in.
Makoto: Yeah, we did get to meet again…
Sayaka: And just like the man in the folktale, I know you'll help me find my way out. Like you did with that crane.
I'm going to save her...? Sayaka really makes me feel like I can do anything.
Makoto: I'll do my best, I promise you that.
Sayaka: Ehehe, thank you, Makoto.

May I request a danganlife please? I’m a short female with long curly blonde hair and brown eyes. I have a youthful, childlike appearance and have old lady like tendencies, but I find that I can pull of vintage outfits. I am also currently majoring in History. I am shy with strangers but a loud, talkative, dork with people I am familiar with. I am responsible with everything but my health but am getting better at managing it. I like cutesy things, but I also enjoy the dark things as well.(Part 1
I tend to overthink things in the beginning of things but have made progress with calming myself down. I don’t enjoy expressing my negative emotions to others. I’m also known to be childish, excitable, thoughtful of others, stubborn, and have an active imagination (and depict being upbeat I can be emotionally challenged). I am polite to everyone I meet though and respect their personal space unless they want hugs. My hobbies include fawning over animals, being with friends, (part 2 from vintage
listening to music (and singing when alone), walking, wood burning, watching tv, and cosplay. (Final part from vintage girl)
Of course you can! I’m so happy I get to do more of these :3
Without further ado, let’s see how you would fare in the Danganronpa universe with your Dangan Life: SHSL Test Results!:
I think you would be dubbed the Ultimate Historian! This would be because of your majoring in history, along with your ability to be virtually timeless. I say ‘virtually timeless’ because of your unique way of being able to pull of a cute, yet classy and old vintage style. It’s incredible!
In fact, Tsumugi is often asking you if she can have some tips on vintage cosplay. She’s never been much good at those, despite wanting to be good at them. Conveniently, however, she met you!
Often, the two of you go to cons together and cosplay together. She teaches you some tricks, and you teach her some tricks. Although, you’re a bit surprised, because what do you have to teach the Ultimate Cosplayer?
Overall, you’re mostly liked. Shyness is very endearing indeed, and combined with your cute appearance, it’s just precious. Some hate you, for one reason or another, but you figure that because it’s the high school age, that it’s perfectly natural and nothing to worry about.
Once more people get to know you though, and you become more comfortable with everyone, it’s a good time.  Often, your friends (like Mikan, for example) chide you for not taking care of yourself, which helps you form healthy habits so you’re not chided at school the next day.
Because you overthink, I don’t think you would become a remnant of despair. I think that you would see the little things in them - what they’re becoming. And although it might have been painful, you closed yourself off from that. Your childish and excitable nature never fails to entertain, whether it be yourself or others. More particularly, Ouma, who loves playing tricks on you almost as much as he does Gonta.
Being emotionally challenged is difficult, but luckily you have some caring people to help you along the way. Even though they might not know how, they do. The respect of personal boundaries is very reassuring (yet sometimes scary, in a way) to your friends, and they find themselves pulling back after hugging you or touching you in a new way for the first time because oh god - did they just invade your privacy??
They profusely apologize, but you laugh that little laugh of yours and initiate a hug this time, saying that you weren’t sure if they were okay with hugs, so you didn’t know what to do.
They sigh and relief, and everything’s fixed once more.
Overall, your life at Hope’s Peak is wonderful, but once you get into the killing game….well…
It’s not so wonderful anymore.
At first you don’t really believe anything. How could someone trap you inside of a school and expect you to kill your friends?
Your S/O?*
In the end, you don’t give into killing someone, despite your frequent emotional breaks and isolation.  Often, your free time events focus on your past while you make talk with the protagonist, and you trust them, even going so far as letting them in your room, which you don’t really do otherwise - unless it’s for breakfast or some sort of event.
At the class trials and in investigations, you’re typically helpful as well, although not as helpful as someone like Shuichi or Kyoko, for example.
You do however, get killed by someone. It’s planned, but by the killer, it’s seen as more of a mercy kill. They do it the most painless way they know how - one knife straight through the heart as you’re asleep in a public area. That one slip up is all it takes, and you’re dead.
Your killer feels a profound amount of guilt, especially as your S/O and/or the others weep over your dead body. Sure, you had been isolated and had emotional breaks, but you tried to be upbeat, and cheer them up.
You even went so far as to throw a fashion show with Tsumugi, once.
The protagonist of your killing game squeezes your cold hand, and vows that they’re going to find your killer.
Even if that, in turn, kills them.
I think you’d be friends with: Hajime Hinata, Shuichi Saihara, Tsumugi Shirogane, Kaede Akamatsu, Ibuki Mioda, Ouma Kokichi, Korekiyo Shinguuji, Aamami Rantaro, Sayaka Maizono
*Provided that you have one
