i've said this since the first stream and i've known this since he began talking about genloss and i will keep saying it. genloss is an exploration of the feelings of being a content creator and being constantly under the eye of the public, being scrutinised and torn apart and controlled by a constantly spectating audience. what does it mean for a person to have their life broadcast, to be examined by strangers, and to have it all happen suddenly and explosively with no chance for you to have prepared for it? there is a line drawn between the person you were before and after people noticed you. there is not as much of a line drawn between who you are in front of thousands and who you truly are. can your actions, when you are under the pressure of the public and a company paying your bills, be separated from who you are? somewhere in the tangle of your reality and the wires, cold glass screens and warm flesh and blood, there is the person that you are and that you have been, have always. it's just hard to identify it through the tv static.

it's interesting talking to young men on the internet because they are, by a large majority, motivated by a gleeful and unfocused ressentiment towards basically everyone and everything. there is really very little concern for truth but more notably there is a semi-concious rejection of usefulness of action and of making things better.

the appeal of policies, actions or rhetoric is that punishment and cruelty are inflicted, that people and entities are laid low. they are not motivated by a desire for better things to happen, but for worse things to happen to those they resent. And they like being angry and resentful, they like it more than they like any hobby or activity or product.

i've seen a fair bit of... pessimism about dorym lately, esp with the ep107, for example wondering if dorian's opposing views on the gods making orym fall out of love, and i have to say. i very highly doubt it, ur fr talking about the man who has held on to will for so long, holding onto will's family and affectionately calling this *his* family too because that didn't stop when will died. i dont think falling out of love is an option or even a thought to orym.

that said, we know that orym has contingencies for if anyone in bells hells crosses the line into being a version of themselves they would despise, for anyone who jeopardizes their mission. his mission. i think, for the first time since knowing dorian, orym finally has a contingency for him. the longer dorian is back, the more orym sees how scarred he is by what's happened (understandable so) and knows that dorian is with bells hells all the way. but if he isn't...
