I feel that Arceus would get punched by a very irate Subway Boss in that scenario, I love it.

This has spawned many words in the master document, as my brain has decided to positively gnaw on this idea, and alas, nothing is finished yet, so have a bit of worldbuilding and some drawings in the meantime.

Emmet craves violence. Akari and Rei are used to this (featuring: probably the best expressions I've ever drawn)

he's a bit older now, but still smaller than his evolved starter; Typhlosion can tell his soul is older, but he is physically small, so she abuses his lack of height to shower him in affection

an internal mess of conflicting instincts, thoughts, and emotional maturity, but Arceus's plan is set in motion, and there's nothing Emmet can do about it

Worldbuilding:

Emmet got shrunk on his way to Hisui, due to the Rift's distorted power affecting him on the way out; he lands on Prelude Beach, drowning in his Depot Agent uniform now that he is teeny tiny

Arceus, panicking a little bit, communicates more directly with Emmet, urging him along on his mission

Emmet's memories are messed up, and his conduct is an odd combination of a child and an adult. By which I mean he can be disconcertingly clever and mature, but also the poutiest little guy with a habit of crying

Young age plus being overwhelmed plus stress equals one mute boi; this does not change his penchant for causing Problems

Jubilife is a lot more lenient with him because of how young he is, but Laventon, Cyllene, and Kamado suspect that he isn't supposed to be like this due to how he was found

Emmet is in an awkward position as far as finding living conditions go, being too odd for most parents to want to take in but also much too young to live on his own

Akari and Rei are assigned babysitters. Let the stressing and development of gray hairs commence

Emmet is Perfectly Behaved and causes no Problems at all, of course, why would he? Why would he?

After sending Emmet home, Arceus shortly feels a distinct feeling of being in danger

After finding out that his brother has been shrunk and not fixed, Ingo fixes metaphorical (and perhaps literal) crosshairs on the back of Arceus's head

Volo walked through his rift from one problem directly into another

I was talking with my friend the other day about some of the fight scenes between/with Emmet and Volo in Mahoumas. Before Emmet loses the penultimate match, Volo actually tries to play nice in earlier interactions. He tries to get people on his side so it's easier to enact his plans, but since that failed with Ingo, he tries it on Emmet. Spoiler: it still doesn't work.

For some extra background details, the reason it doesn't work is because as part of the blessings they are given, Ingo and Emmet are able to see chaos and disordered energy. Champions (ones that are hired properly at least) are completely free of this energy naturally, that's what makes them "pure of heart" and safe to employ under divinities. Regular humans have varying amounts of this, which can range from the average noneffective amount to higher concentrations that lead to malice or suffering. Volo on the other hand, because he made his deal with the very source of chaos, basically lost his human body to be remade out of this corrupted energy entirely. To Ingo and Emmet, he doesn't even look human. He looks like a diseased mass taking the shape and mannerisms of a person. That's why no amount of him talking nice and being friendly will make them let up, he is something to be eradicated to them.

Bonus: what makes Emmet hard-hitting but brittle is corruption. Losing Ingo made him lose his stability, which is why he couldn't transform for a while after. In his eyes, he is no longer pure, because that break let that energy into his heart. It's what makes him inevitably fail later on. This is an old sketch but this is what he sees in his reflection.

I like to imagine that some time after they reunite and after all the chaos of Ingo's return has died down, the twins eventually find some time to just sit together and talk. They chat, reminisce, joke, and laugh with each other. Even after everything they've gone through, after all the changes that have happened between them, they're still brothers, and they're still best friends. A two-car train even after traveling different tracks.

okay so a lot of people don’t count the game as canon and i wouldn’t say i do either but like i like to think doc and marty did go on adventures such as this one after the trilogy finishes

but anyway like i continuously am impressed with the voice acting from the marty va because he sounds just like mjf and i truly do believe that that is what marty sounded like in the first movie when doc was dying in lone pines

Decided to polish some jacket designs!

Emmet originally received a strait from the League after they thought he posed a safety risk to others and mandated him to wear it. Big surprise, they literally just went to a Unovan hospital and asked if they had any of the old jackets lying around. It's ill-fitting and unpleasant, not to mention the hasty edits they made to his uniform to act as a secondary restraint looks awful. As much as he is still operating as usual, having to walk around in the strait is humiliating and dehumanizing, especially because of the stares from other people.

Of course this crime against dignity and fashion had to be corrected, so Elesa called her designers and offered to make the League Council a more appropriate uniform for him. The only rule given was that it must still restrain as well as the original straitjacket, so Elesa ended up modelling the jacket after a vest and the secondary restraint after a double-breasted greatcoat. It's meant to look like clothing, more like everyday wear than something out of an asylum. It also uses hand covers (i.e. socks) instead of a grossly oversized sleeve to keep the hands restrained.

It resolves a lot of the issues Emmet had with the original, namely that it blends in with the crowd rather than making him stick out. It also has an air of professionalism and formality that the original didn't have. He's much more willing to wear it and keep it on, as well as being more comfortable in it.

I'm struggling to describe this in sentences so as for the differences:

League Straitjacket:

actual retired straitjacket from hospital storage

made of old canvas and leather

uses oversized belted sleeves to restrain arms

uses belts and buckles to restrain upper arms and tighten back

can't fit anything thicker than a tank top underneath

Elesa's Modified Straitvest:

bespoke articles custom tailored to Emmet's measurements

made from stiff cotton and fabric straps

uses belted cuffs and hand covers to restrain arms

uses straps and locking slide buckles to restrain upper arms and tighten back

able to fit a collared shirt underneath

Elesa's outfit also has the added bonus of being more breathable, soft, and being able to function as regular clothes.

Wait wait aiat what if Ingo and Lady Sneasler went back to the future in Sinnoh and without Akari. They are being monitored because hello, extinct regional pokemon popping up, and then Lady sneasler lays eggs. Ingo, of course , is listed as the father on hundreds of articles and it becomes a big thing, you know like the famous baby aninals that become temporary celebrities.

And then Akari comes back and travels to Unova, taking Ingo along with Lady sneasler and her kits. So now she is on the run avoiding authorities. And then they meet Emmet who knows Sneasler!Ingo as the sire of a litter of extinct pokemon but not as Ingo. He knows this because Emmet likes thinking up strategies for different pokemon and have definitely thought of some for the sneasler line.

Even though Emmet is estactic that he gets to meet these strong and extinct pokemon he secretly calls the authorities and keeps Akari distracted by asking her about the sneaslers. Then Akari goes "by the way, you look like Ingo before he got sneaslerfied except youre smilling. *gasp* Are you the man in white that like winning more than anything?!"

And while Emmet is processing becuase she mentioned Ingo, just before the authorities show up Akari introduces the male sneasler as the sneaslerfied Ingo who then does the all aboard stance and his best mimickry of the words to prove who he is. Maybe Chandelure pops out of her pokeball and hugs Ingo, doing her little greeting chime noise that she only reserves for Ingo. And then the authorities show up but Akari and the gang managed to escape, leaving poor Emmet there, realizing he was so close to Ingo only for them to be separated again.

And then Emmet realizes he's an uncle now. Not of Akari but of the sneaslets so he's researching care of sneaslets and figuring out the ethics of a human turned pokemon and a regular pokemon mating. Because would Ingo still love his mate even when he's turned back into a human?

Later, much later, after a lot of miscommunication, is it revealed that Ingo is not the father but is considered an adopted older brother. And now Emmet is wondering if a pokemon can legally do an adult adoption.

I imagine Ingo is also mildly stressed the entire time because he only knows Galarian and an older version of whatever the Sinnohan language is, so while he can understand the researchers to a degree, it's very awkward and choppy. He and Lady Sneasler are also in an unknown area that's questionably safe and Lady Sneasler just had a new litter, so Ingo's a bit busy being filled with panic to try and communicate with the other humans.

And then Akari shows up, stages a jailbreak (probably using her stupidly overpowered pokemon), and runs off with the sneasler squad.

Emmet is very excited to meet these no-longer-extinct pokemon, but also why the fuck is this fifteen year old traveling alone with a bunch of pokemon, he is Concerned

Akari: you look so much like my dad by the way Emmet: ...your dad. Akari: yeah Emmet: ...you said the sneasler was your dad. Akari: *rolls eyes* well duh i was talking about BEFORE he turned into a sneasler you bidoofus Akari: WAIT ARE YOU THE SMILING GUY?? "I LIKE WINNING MORE THAN ANYTHING ELSE"???? Emmet: *actively experiencing acute psychic damage*

*the squad gets chased off*

Emmetstyle and their ways of showing love

Emmet is very big on dishing out his affection for others. He hasn't had anyone in his life care enough to stick around for long, so he's going to be the first one in his and Lucy's relationship to say 'I love you' to her.

Compared to Lucy, he's a very open person, finding it easy to show his appreciation and love for his friends through his words, actions, and gifts. So obviously he would have no problem showering his special best friend cough girlfriend cough with all the love he has.

He's going to tell her he loves her whenever he can. She helps him with the chores? Love gushing out of him. They go out on a 'best friend' excursion? Hugs everywhere. He is constantly wiggling with happiness when he's around Lucy.

Lucy on the other hand tends to deny her affection for others if she thinks it'll make her look weak and less tough (She was fine showing her 'affection to Batman because he's a super cool and tough superhero), therefore ruining the persona she's built herself around.

Though she does soften up around Emmet whenever they're alone. It takes her a long time to finally say the 'L' word to Emmet. Other than ruining her reputation, Lucy is also scared to admit her love for Emmet, because the last time she loved something with a passion and dedicated her life to it, it was warped into a cruel method to brainwash people.

After the second movie, seeing how hateful Rex became because he believed that his friends never loved him, Lucy became more determined to show her special best friend how much she really loves him.

During the rebuilding after armageddon, she does a lot of seemingly little things (but are monumental to Emmet) to show her love. She starts to hold hands with Emmet in public, defends him fiercely against hateful comments, and starts to gift him small things that she think's he'll like.

Even after all this, She still doesn't think it's enough. Because there's a difference between knowing someone loves you and knowing they love you. So, Lucy gets the others to help her come up with a plan to show their appreciation for Emmet (Since I like to think he's one of the people working overtime to fix all the destruction (Y'know... out of guilt and all)), and it ends up as this giant party with everyone to celebrate the rebuilding efforts.

Towards the end, she has this whole speech (I'm not going to go too in detail), and she ends it with finally saying the three magic words that she could never bring herself to say.

If we go over to dangerstyle in Rex's timeline, then it's going to be flipped. They swapped roles in the way they show affection.

Lucy is a lot more vocal than she used to be when she shows her love. This is mostly born out of her fear that the people she loves might end up disappearing and dying without ever truly knowing how much she cares about them .

In her eyes, she never fully reciprocated Emmets love before he disappeared. She never got the chance to finally tell him the three words that always got stuck in her throat.

Emmet died trying to save someone that Lucy believes never treasured him as much as she should have. And that guilt weighs down on her every single day.

Going onto reunion AUs where there's the big 'happy' reunion and reconciliation, have no doubt, Lucy is 100% going to try and drown Rex with the love she never showed when he was Emmet.

She doesn't do it immediately because they can all tell that Rex needs to adjust a bit. But after he's a bit more okay with being around them, he's going to get slapped in the face with all the care they're treating him with.

Lucy does say it as a way to thank him for things like how he used to do for her, but she also does it whenever he's going through one of those bad days. Where the memories become overwhelming and he just needs that little bit of reassurance that they do actually care.

Rex is a lot more reluctant to share his affection with others compared to his past self. Or at least, he does it more privately and can come off as a bit of an asshole. The reason is basically the same as how Lucy didn't want to ruin her tough persona.

He's one of those characters that at first glance seems like a jackass- and he is, there's no doubt about that. But after a while the closer you get, you can't help but become fond of him. He's sweet in like a loveable asshole kind of way.

There's also the fact that his whole personality is built upon the trauma he endured in Undar, so any shred of Emmet that he has is buried really deep down.

Occasionally, if he's comfortable enough, Rex will end up slipping back into Emmet's habits in front of people. But whenever he does, he just ends up freezing up and backtracking, pulling away and avoiding everyone for the rest of the day as he goes to hide and sulk.

When it comes to actually saying 'I love you' again, well... it's gonna take a really long time for him to feel safe or confident enough to do it again. Rex is going to need to get so much therapy and validation from Lucy and the others.

Compared to when Lucy finally says the three big words, the way Rex finally does it again isn't dramatic, it isn't one big planned-out party with all their friends together and celebrating.

The way he finally says them again is early in the morning, with both of them wrapped in blankets, cuddling on the sofa, the TV playing some show in the background. Lucy will slowly detach herself from the arms firmly wrapped around her, careful to not wake up the dozing raptor trainer. But Rex still feels the slow change in environment so he whines softly, trying to preserve the warmth that's moving away from him.

It's in this moment when Lucy softly draws him back to sleep that he mutters a small 'love you' before falling into unconsciousness again.

(She cries in the kitchen)
