Sard’ika Sessions
Session One
Fanfiction 18+
Main Masterlist | Sard’ika Sessions Masterlist I Din Djarin/The Mandalorian Masterlist
Summary: Your first session with The Mandalorian test both of your boundaries.
Warnings: Din Djarin in his own warning, currency for sexual services, HANDS, slight body worship, thigh-riding, temperature play, beskar use, body insecurity, limited eye contact, fingering, overstimulation, angst (always), liberties taken with The Way and Creed, discussion of pregnancy prevention, no name use (Din will call reader by nicknames)
Notes: I’ve wanted to write for Din for a while. He’s one of my favorite Pedro Boys I hadn’t written any fics for until now. The Star Wars world is huge and has such a significance for pop culture in general. It’s all intimidating, but this idea wouldn’t let my brain go. So I had to write it to get it out. This is The Way.
I did use some Mando’a in this fic. Kept it limited to a few words because despite researching I still found it confusing and didn’t want to mess up too badly:
The suffix of (‘ika) denotes turning a word into a nickname but should only be used in private.
Sard’ika = flower (reasoning behind this nickname is explained in later sessions)
Mesh’la = beautiful
Word Count: 2,384

The Mandalorian is aware that you listen for his heavy footsteps. Always ready at your door in what he requests, a simple green slip. Depending on his tastes for the time spent with you, he may want simple cotton or a more decadent silk. He is well aware that he is using you for his own desires. He tells himself that this is what you’ve agreed to and it is mutual use. He pays you in credits after all.
His idle thoughts concern him.
Half of them are of his charge - his son who is training with a Jedi. He misses him dearly, the little whomp rat troublemaker changed his life, if asked, the Mandalorian may admit that his son led his beskar clad body to you.
The other half are reminiscing of what he has done with you and planning when he can do it again. Possibly with new accessories.
While he was talking to Greef about yet another bounty payout, Grogu had wandered over to you, poking your calf. He allowed you to pick him up and talk to him, hold him. This intrigued Mando. After he finished with Greef, he was walking over to you to reclaim his son when he heard you tell the child, “What I wouldn’t do for some more credits? Honest work doesn’t pay much little one. I’m only good at hunting numbers.”
An offhand remark. You may have been joking, but he remembered meeting you before, a few times. On a few occasions, if Greef was busy in some meeting or whatever that man did, you’d be the one to confirm his bounty objective was met and issue his credits. Mando did attempt to control more carnal desires with self-sessions while the child was asleep and with visits to the pleasure house, though due to his beskar, he drew attention.
Your soft curves, delicate looking skin and wide hips enticed him. Not soft spoken, he enjoyed the way your voice echoes in his helmet when you speak, he may have recorded your short greetings to listen to at later times. Eyes that betray your interest in the enigma that the Mandalorian knows he is. It’s one of his largest advantages. He wonders what exactly you want to know about him and is it the same bodily knowledge he seeks. After hearing your comment, he eagerly awaits when Greef either cannot or will not meet with him. The reason matters not. It means he’ll be able to speak to you directly again.
The day comes. The shock on your face is adorable, the warrior wonders what other faces you are capable of making and what actions will inspire them. He was ready to appeal to your expressed need for money to his son and possibly a deeper interest you may have held in him. He wasn’t sure about the second part. You inform him of the location of your home, to come after you finish your shift. Already knowing when your shift ends, the bounty hunter arrives ten minutes before you do. Explaining that the oncoming person was later, you apologize, there was no need, but he thanks you anyway, grateful that your curiosity aligned with his.
Entering your home, it’s simple, but decorated with pictures of plants and planets. It appears lived in and he finds that cute like you. The Mandalorian wants to break you in slowly, no need to rush things. He finally has you to himself in private.
“The only items I will remove are my gloves. Understood?”
Your compliance is appreciated with his boundary and with your clothes. Erect nipples speak to him, gloves are off and his large hands each hold a breast. Massaging them is its own reward for his patience, months have passed since he’s felt another person’s flesh. The low hum from his helmet as his hands begin to roam your body is palpable, he watches as you shudder from his touch.
Leading you over to your small loveseat, he sits, hands running down to your thighs. Pushing them apart, observing your slick, curious about its taste. The visor turns upward to you, “Sit on my thigh. Make yourself come Sard’ika.” (flower - nickname) Watching you hesitate, the hunter taps his right thigh and holds your hands, placing them on his shoulders. “Use my armor to show me the sounds you are capable of sard’ika. I chose you for your plush body. Do not delay, no credits if I am not satisfied.” His tone is stern with a hint of desperation. He’s close to having you in the first position he wants.
Nodding, your knees place themselves on both sides of his armored thigh, their cool surface has you let out a soft, “Ahh. Mmm.” Your hum as he feels your body start to relax has his calloused hands run across your skin from your thighs to your hips. The Mandalorian had wanted to hold the jiggly flesh since the first time he saw you get up from your desk to go wherever the credits are held. His helmet had hid each time he licked his lips, and undressed you with his eyes, your hips wigged, still easing yourself down on his thigh. The warrior is finding himself impatient, and lifts his thigh to finally touch your wetness. A soft chuckle is heard as you gasp from the temperature change, but it feels wonderful. You hadn’t realized how hot you were, your continued hums you made, biting on your bottom lip to not scream in front of him. Sliding up and down this man’s precious beskar. Protection that he wore and used day in and day out being used now for pleasure, specifically yours was swelling your chest with pride. A sudden slap to your ass, interrupting the squelching sounds of your cunt against the metal finally made you yell out. This pleased him greatly, he did not want you to be quiet, but he would tell you later, he wanted you to focus on continuing to drip on his beskar so he would smell it when he went on his next bounty. “M-Mando, what else do you want me to do?” You asked meekly, your core was starting to clench against nothing, desperate to have something to press against. His helmet tilted.
“You haven’t soaked my thigh yet Sard’ika. Do you require my help to do so?” His voice was amused seeing your face, watching you try to not only keep yourself quiet but appeared to be looking away from his helmet. “You can ask for my help. In return, you must climax and look at my visor.” Your nod did not move him, grinding your wet cunt on his metal only gave you so much, just a little push, any added stimulation. You decided since he hadn’t moved, you would, pulling on his shoulders afford a new angle forward so your nipples would brush across his breastplate as now not only was your slit in contact with his beskar but so was your clit.
“I-I can do-do it. M-Mando.” Through staggered breaths you informed him that you would finish your task he had given you. The Mandalorian felt himself throb under his armor and flight suit. He had already been half swollen when he arrived to your doorstep, the friction was driving him mad, but he kept telling himself he had a plan. He would stick to it. Now, looking right into his T-visor made you whimper his name as you finally soaked his beskar, your mouth agape, falling forward with your head on his shoulder, panting.
“Such a sight Sard’ika. I will take more from you,” The bounty hunter softly ran a hand up your back, pulling your slip up, exposing more of your skin. “This is no longer needed. You’ll be on the couch, you must continue to focus on my visor.” After your slip was thrown to the floor, his forearms were suddenly under each one of your legs as you were lifted in the air, holding on to him in a panic, your hand touched his helmet before pulling itself back to his shoulder. As he turned toward the couch he stopped, still holding by your legs.
“Sorry Mando. I didn’t mean to. You picked me up. I panicked. Please put me on the couch.” Your eyes turned away from his visor, he cleared his throat.
“Your legs were too weak so I had to lift you. What was surprising about that silly Sard’ika? Do I need to tell you again why I chose you?” Laying you gently on your back, his hands ran up the sides of your body, touching your face. You closed your eyes, unsure if you should look at his ungloved hands. “I told you. Look at my visor. I think I’ll change what I was planning then.”
“What do you mean?” You heard a small snort as Mando rolled himself down your body, between your legs. You propped yourself on your elbows, curious what he was going to do. “Mando?” Your voice was unsure, but you soon covered your mouth, feeling a single rough finger touching your clit. The instinct to close your legs was thwarted by the hunter’s broad shoulders and beskar.
“You’ll keep your self open and let me explore you Sard’ika. If you won’t follow directions to look at my visor, then I won’t be able to enjoy watching your face as I learn your swollen cunt. It is….” The finger circled your clit before trailing down to your opening and entered smoothly. Finally having something to clench, the wet sounds from your core made Mando quicken his breathing. His free hand had to adjust his flight suit under his armor for his precum was soaking them. He wanted to free himself and plunge into you, but he kept telling himself that there would be a next time. “...perfect for a flower such as yourself. Will you cry for me mesh’la?”
You wanted to ask him what he meant by the word he used, but your mind was muddled. He was commanding you, but didn’t appear to want you to touch him, instead he was set on you having orgasms. One of his hands reached up and took your from your mouth. “I will hear you cry Sard’ika. No more hiding.” Another finger was inserted and you felt a stretch, it burned slightly but your juices soon took that away with the pleasure from their thickness and abrasive skin grating your insides as they clamped around them.
“M-Mando, please, slow down…I-It’s too much…” Tears formed at the edges of your eyes. The continued stimulation was overwhelming, your hips pushed forward as your came a second time, screaming before becoming flaccid on the couch. The warrior’s fingers soon came to a stop as he sat you up, covering you with a throw blanket he found on the other end of the couch.
“You did well Sard’ika. I am satisfied. I shall leave the credits on your table. Taste this and describe it to me.” He brought his two fingers soaked with your nectar as you parted your lips, not questioning him. Your viscous fluids were tangy and slightly sweet, you told him. A low rumble came from his chest before he put an arm around you and put the area above his visor on his helmet on your forehead. You’re sure that means something, just not what, just like the words he used. There were questions he had about why he chose you, why he appeared to be intimate with you on top of the acts you were performing with him. Once able to move, you reached and held one of his hands, he hadn’t put his gloves back on yet.
“Is this alright? I just wanted to touch them once. You’re much more gentle than I thought you’d be Mando.”
The Mandalorian pasused. It was only supposed to be an exchange. Credits for sexual release. He didn’t anticipate such a longing for intimacy. Maybe it wasn’t only carnal desires he had for her. After all, he had given you a nickname in his language, two actually.
“Call me Din Sard’ika. The next time we meet, you’ll call me by name, but only when we are alone like this.” Your nod earned another soft headbutt, then he rose to put his gloves back on. “Can you wear the emerald again next time? It complements your caramel skin mesh’la.”
“Yes I can. Din. Um, what does that word mean? And the other one? Shad-Sar’ka? I think. You called me by them a few times.” You stood and wobbled a bit, following him to the table where he removed the credits from his bag that he had left on the table when he came in. He strapped it to his back again under his cape.
“I will inform you as we continue our,” Din paused for a moment. What would one call these? Meetings sound formal, this was not a date, “our sessions together.” He was not ready to tell her what they meant. It would involve other questions. More pressing matters were to be spoken of. “Are you on any methods to prevent pregnancy? Future sessions will involve penetration.”
Your eyes widened at his question, but it wasn’t entirely unexpected. “I’m not but I can start. I haven’t need to for - I just haven’t need to.” You settled on. He didn’t ask about any of that, how long it had been and why. Mando nodded and put a hand on your shoulder.
“You do not need to start. As part of The Way, men are sterilized until certain life events are met. Mine have not been, but if it would make you feel safer, you’re welcome to. I thought it best we spoke about it first.” His explanation was sound and quelled some of your anxiety, though you had more questions about how sex with a Mandalorian would go exactly. The two of you agreed to next week, he did get a new bounty from you earlier in the day. Anticipating the week to follow, the remaining days we agonizingly slow. You ended up buying three different jade slips, each with different fabric for those hands of his to remove from you as he saw fit.

Toji x Reader
Working alone was always the rule. No one to slow you down when you had to run and no one for him to save when shit hit the fan. That's until the best in the game were needed together.
Former Mercenary/Hitman Toji Fushiguro only wants to make enough to disappear in the next year as the job is no longer worth the risk. You’ve found a way to just enjoy the thrill of the con as a professional grifter and former mafia fixer. Now forced to find out just how deep the world of art dealings goes as your next mark is far more twisted than you realized.
an: I wish I could tell you that I'll stop thinking about Toji but we know that’ll never happen. I've been revisiting games and media lately where the lead is some former army man with little to lose and I saw our dark-haired dilf immediately. Something felt right about it and here we are! A JJK AU where some of our faves will make an appearance.
CW for the series: adult themes, use of alcohol and drugs, sexual undertones, violence, full blown mature themes. Will be updated as necessary.

Shiu made the mistake of scheduling Toji’s meeting at the same time as yours. He says your meeting was the mistake but let's be real.
The only thing you wanted to do was avoid the smug bastard in the hallway. Which worked til now.
“Kong. I know I owe you, but this can't be what you're cashing in on.” the up and down you gave Toji made him grin.
“Ouch, princess. What if I'm the man you've been waiting for?”
“Then I’ll off myself and try again in my next reincarnation. Kong.” you looked back over to your already stressed friend of over a decade.
“Sorry kid. I need the best and both of you are my best. It won’t hurt to play nice.”  Shiu opened a fresh pack of cigarettes, effortlessly shaking one out and putting it in his mouth.
Toji grabbed the lighter, igniting the flame for Shiu. “If you’re worried about your safety, you’re safe with me, doll face. It’s only for one night.”
Bewildered was an understatement as Shiu shook his head, “A month.”
“No can do, Shi. A month is fucking nuts.”
You smiled, sitting on Shiu’s desk as Toji paced to the window. “Worried I won’t be able to protect you, Prince Charming? You're safe with me.”
If the daggers in his eyes had their way, you would’ve felt them pierce your chest. “You’re cute but don’t push me.”
“Is someone getting angys?”
“Angys? Are you a child?”
“No, but I can beat your ass like a grown man.”
Grabbing the largest book on his desk, Shiu slammed it down with little effort. “Fucks sake, shut up. The both of you.”
You swiftly jumped off his desk, shifting your attention back to the cigarette hanging from his lips, Toji came and stood beside you. It began to feel like a disciplinary meeting with the headmaster.
“Look. It's a month-long job minimum. Per diem with an 800,000 payout at the end. They need a charmer and a fucking beast to retrieve some goods and get intel so you two need to work as a couple to get this done. Either you both take it, or it's off the table and you won't have shit to do for the next 3 months.”
“800 split?” you questioned.
“No. Per person.”
800,000 would give you a more than comfy cushion to sit on for maybe a month. Then you'd get tired of the cushion and beg Shiu for something to keep you busy. There was never an end to the thrill of scamming the ultra-rich and occasionally watching the life drain from a few.
“I will not be your babysitter during this. You're a grown-ass woman and I refuse to have a brat slow me down. Understood?”
He was so pretty in the off-white cable-knit sweater that swallowed him but that mouth was going to have you punching his throat in a matter of minutes.
“I'm willing to do the job as long as your chained puppy can treat me like an adult. I can handle myself.”
“Already the first steps towards being a loving couple. You're gonna be fine, kids.” Shiu stepped between you two, smiling as if he were a proud parent. He squeezed your shoulders. “Everything you need will be sent over in 2 hours. I have the twins working on your background stories and covers. You leave at the end of the week.”
Strength. Resilience. Mindfulness. Breathe.
“Why don't we get matching shirts so they know that you're mine? Sound good, sweetie?" The vibrato in the pet name gave your resolve a run for its money. Fortunately, the smug look on his face once you looked at him dried you back up.
“Yeah! I think ‘I’m with dumbass’ would look cute in bubble letters on a baby tee, no?”
Tumblr media
The flight was more than perfect. Business class with every accommodation known to man thanks to Shiu knowing you would never do anything less. You settled into the second half of your flight preparing to get a little rest before landing.
“Toji? Can you wake me when they come around with dining options?” you lowered the partition to find Toji intently reading a home improvement magazine.
“Just tell me what you want and I’ll order so I can wake you when it's here.”
“I don't know what they'll be serving. Just wake me—”
“There's an International and Japanese cuisine menu. Either beef filet steak with a red wine sauce and a side autumn plate or pasta gratin with chum salmon & black truffles with roasted pumpkin.” finally looking up from the magazine, his deadpan gaze met your face. “The Japanese cuisine has Wagyu curry with eggplant and mitsuba and sansho peppers or grilled black cod, a crab omelet with grilled shiitake and taro. What sounds good.”
Taken aback, you bat your lashes trying to digest this robotic answer to your request.
“Did you not hear me?”
“I did. You just.. Did you study the menu or something.” you rolled the partition down completely, studying the expressionless man.
“It rolled across the screen earlier and I took a mental note of it. So, can you tell me so I can tell the cute attendant when I call for her to come back? She's a busy woman.”
A sigh so deep you felt your nervous system reboot as you rolled your eyes.
“Tell your girlfriend I’d like the grilled black cod meal please.”
“Will do. I'll try to get you an extra omelet for being such a supportive wife as I date around. Thank you, sweetheart.” Toji winked and rolled up the partition with a grin like a Cheshire cat spread across his mug. “Sweet dreams.”
Tumblr media
“You’ve gotta hurry up, doll face. The race starts in 30 minutes and the driver is pulling up any minute now. Let's go” Toji yelled through the hall as he made his way to your room in the villa. His loafers lightly clacked along the polished granite floors as he walked into your room. “You don't need a whole canister of paint for makeup. Just put some blush on and let's get moving.”
“Can’t rush perfection, Fushiguro. And I'm just putting on my earrings. Relax.” you popped your head from the bathroom and raised your brows. “Wow. You clean up nicely. I thought you could only wear those tight-ass Uniqlo t-shirts.”
A crisp, light blue button-down that could only do so much to hide his muscular build, and a pair of deep indigo chino pants to round off the fit. “Funny. Now can you please come on? We’re on a time crunch and I don't want to be around those old rotting money bags for longer than necessary.”
Rolling your eyes as you went back to looking in the mirror one more time, you walked out to the bedroom. “Alright. Let's go.”
Toji didn't have to say anything when his eyes did the talking for him. “You gotta wear shit like this more often. I'll be more open to actually listening to your words if you do.”
You grimaced as you walked past him to the front door. “Please stop talking.” You smiled as you walked out, the driver holding the car door open as you gave him a warm thank you before sliding in.
Toji got in behind you, getting strapped in as you did. When given the clear, the driver pulled off.
 “Doll face.”
“What, Toji.”
“Being married to you is fun. Best open relationship ever.”
Toji winked before going through his phone, going over the files one more time.
“God. If you exist, please turn this shit over right now,” you whined as the car whirled down the road.
Tumblr media
The sun hangs high over Monza’s glittering skyline, casting a golden sheen over the harbor and its rows of yachts. The thunderous roar of F1 engines echoed through the streets, as sleek cars zip past. The race is in full swing, but the real spectacle isn't on the track—it's in the VIP section.
The third row to the left of the podium sat your target: KK.
Notorious organized crime affiliation who tends to dabble in high-stakes art deals, illicit trades, and other illegal acts.
He smiled like a kid in a candy store watching how everyone tried to please his every desire. Two men stood behind him as he continued to conversate with the crowd around him.
You both weaved through the crowd with practiced grace. Toji exchanges pleasantries with a collector while you check your reflection in the mirrored windows of the luxury suite, your gaze never drifting far from KK.
Feigning boredom, you let out a resounding sigh, twirling around to face Toji. “Formula One. I’ll never understand the appeal. It’s all so... mechanical.”
Expressed loud enough for nearby guests to hear, you elicited a few amused looks.
“You said the same thing about abstract art and now New York and half of Japan want your opinion on it.”
Toji’s laugh is light, effortless like he's done this a thousand times.
Your banter catches the ear of Hashime, one of KK’s bodyguards, who’s leaning against a railing with an air of casual authority.
His interest now piqued, he glances between the two. Toji catches Hashime’s eye and offers a polite nod. He returns the nod and steps toward you both.
The pale blue-haired minion seized you up “You’re into art, huh? Never understood it myself. What’s the secret to knowing if something’s worth millions or not?”
“Everyone’s chasing an enigma. If you can give them a story full of mystery and wonder, more will want it. If you can do that, then you can sell a painting to a blind man.”
Joining smoothly, Toji wrapped his arm around your waist smiling. “Rare pieces, hard-to-find items, things worth killing for. They have a way of getting it all.”
“I've heard Mr. KK over there has some of the best pieces to never be seen by the public. What I would give to just catch a glimpse.” Your voice lowered.
“He doesn't just let anyone see the collection.”
Leaning in slightly, you dropped your tone, whispering more intimately. “Of course not. Someone with his... connections... would appreciate only the most discerning eyes.”
Hashime's eyes narrow, his guard raised. You felt the energy shift, but remained calm, letting Toji take the lead from this point.
“Stay here.” Hashime stepped away, walking towards KK.
Apprehension settled into your gut as you watched KKs dark eyes find you and Toji. Refusing to falter, you smiled and placed your hand on Toji’s abs. “You think this’ll work?”
“Of course it will. We just have to sell him on the most dangerous art deal of his life. He can't say no to what we have.”
A brief moment of calculation crosses his face, and then he stands, straightening his jacket. KK approaches you, a smile that doesn't quite reach his eyes forming on his lips before he reaches out to take your hand. You obliged as he kissed your knuckles before shaking Toji’s hand.
“I tend to know everyone who breathes air in the art world yet neither of you look familiar.” KK smiled, placing his hands back in his pockets.
“If everyone knew us, I’d say we were doing awful at our job.”
KK looked over at Hashime and gave an almost girlish laugh as he raised his champagne.
“Hard to find. Good. After the race, let's talk.” He nodded, giving Hashime the go to give you his business card. Mozying back to his seat, you looked down at his card:

The great shift: parenting and streaming
Thanks to @thegreatstoryteller
Tumblr media
-Dad, what are you doing in my office? I've told you a hundred times that I don't like you coming in here when I'm working, now you better get out of here and finish your math homework before I finish streaming or there will be no dessert for dinner- The camera it was on and thousands of people were looking at that hot body that spent 3 hours a day in the gym, the comments were piling up by the hundreds, most of them were just sexual advances or paid requests for him to flex his fantastic arms in front of the camera, most of them of his audience were boys his age… Thomas is now 14 years old and entering his teens, although perhaps “fatherhood” would be more appropriate for his new 34-year-old body. His voice was thick and firm, I knew that tone of voice, he had been losing a couple of games, and he was angry, I turned around and trying to be less noisy than a mouse I closed the door before leaving, I immediately heard him lock the door so that I would not interrupt him.
2 years ago this place used to be my office, and that mature hairy body used to be mine, but my son Thomas and I were affected by the great shift. “Luckily” we ended up trapped in each other's bodies on a Saturday. One moment I'm in my office finishing my accounting report and a blink later I'm on our living room couch watching cartoons. I didn't know what was happening, all I knew was that now I was trapped in the body of my 14-year-old son forever, I lost my entire life in a second, plus half my size, my muscles and all of my authority.
Tumblr media
We survived on leftover food in the cupboard. I taught him how to cook, how to shave, and how to exercise his new body. I even tried to teach him how to do my job, but my son was never the brightest in the class. Maybe it was muscle memory or some weird sci-fi phenomenon, but before long he learned my routine at the gym and learned to enjoy his newfound status as man of the house. Obviously, I was fired from my job as Head of the accounting office of my company, and the government gave my son a huge compensation check. The money might not be much, but it would last us long enough for my son to get a job. Suitable employment for a child in the body of an adult, much stronger and taller than the rest of the men. Or that was the plan, as soon as the first check arrived in the mail, my son took my car and went straight to the mall, so he could buy a new computer, microphones and 3 cameras so everyone could enjoy every inch of his perfect muscles live. . He did all this without my knowledge, so when he got his first payout from his followers he rubbed all the money in my face, which was about to turn into a field of puss and pimples thanks to all the hormones in my little teenage body. . In a short time he became popular and that face that I used to look at every day in the mirror was now on Twitch and YouTube, He became so confident and arrogant thanks to his popularity, his maturity and that huge penis that he now had between his hairy thighs.
Tumblr media
It's…Hard to admit, but he's doing a better job than I am with my life, he's only been in my body for 2 years and he's so popular that every time he picks me up from school, all his old friends line up for him. being able to take a picture with him while I wait in the back of Nick's car… oh right I haven't talked about Nick. Is he… my stepfather? It's weird putting a label on your son's boyfriend after the great shift, he and Thomas have been dating for some time now, he spends weekends at our house, even sleeps with Thomas in my old bed. It doesn't bother me that they are together, but… they could be less noisy in bed, I have a math exam tomorrow and I need to sleep.

Not convinced it’s real, he agrees for the massive payout. But when the theft goes wrong, Karim ends up with two problems. First, he’s arrested and to be hanged. Second, and more pressing, the wrist cuff he’s stolen won’t come off and a monstrous voice in his ear keeps getting louder. On the other side of the city, in the tiny apartment they share, Karim’s younger siblings, Zahir and Jinan, realize he’s not coming home. If Karim’s been captured, then the only way to save him is to break into prison and break him out, before it’s too late. They can’t do it alone. They’ll need a crew. And Karim will need to team up with his monstrous new earworm in order to survive. But who hired Karim, and why? And can three poor thieves from Limestus’ shadows outsmart and outmanoeuvre not just one, but two of the immortal Saint Kings?
☾ CHARACTERS
Karim - 31, reiqe, trans, he/him. A thief captured at the start of the story. Level-headed and fairly calm under pressure. Wants to protect his siblings.
Zahir - 26, reiqe, trans, they/them. An artificer who dreams of more than what they have. Jinan's twin. The reckless one who gets them into trouble.
Jinan - 26, reiqe, cis, she/her. A waitress who is also a sweet talker and a grifter. Zahir's twin. The fast talker who gets them out of trouble.
Aazaraaviria "Az" - unknown age, supposedly erdauta, cis, ze/hir. The monstrous spirit trapped within the wrist cuff. Cunning, sly, deep voiced. Supposedly a necromancer.
Saint King Christos - several hundred, iboro, cis, he/him. Antagonist.
Saint King Viggo - several hundred, orc, cis, he/him. Antagonist.
The Rest of the Crew - shhh. It's a secret.
☾ SETTING
The world of Beurkratti is a vast and diverse setting filled with a large variety of sapient species, different forms of magic, and technologies that are both familiar and not. The general world tends to hang out around the 20th century in terms of technology. The Free Cities are five city states who banded together many years ago to prevent themselves from being taken by larger nations. They are the oldest country-less nations in the world and are older than some countries. The Free Cities were founded on an idea of freedom for all, with no dictators to push one down, and to create a place where no one culture would dominate. That... hasn't worked out. But Limestus differs from that vision more than others in a couple of ways. The largest is that Christos, its Saint King and thus ultimate ruler, has banned religious freedom, taken and destroyed many religious artifacts, and pushes his beliefs and insecurities onto his people. This has led to a militaristic state where the police force is spear-headed by another Saint King, Viggo, the ruler of Aunfu. All five Free Cities are located on an island which rides the border between tropical and subtropical. It is hot and humid year round, there is sand and bleached stone everywhere, and the clothes are loose and flowy and thin. The summer season brings extreme weather that many believe only the Saint Kings protect them from. Reiqe, the sapient species that Karim, Zahir, and Jinan are part of are relatively humanoid. They possess long, prehensile tails with long hair, turned, furry ears similar to that of a sheep, but pointier, rough pads on the hands and feet for climbing, digitigrade legs with three-toed feet, webbed fingers and toes, and gills on their necks. They also are covered in short, water-wicking fur, and their skin and fur are typically shades of medium to dark brown. Reiqe have three standard sexes, which are assigned the pronouns he/him, she/her, and ve/ver, respectively. There are two distinct kinds of reiqe found in the Free Cities, the far more common tropical variety, who tend to have lighter brown tones for fur and are much more suited to tropical weather, and the far rarer arctic variety, who tend to have darker brown tones for fur and are far more suited to arctic and northern climates.
☾ UNIVERSE
Beurkratti is meant to be an absolutely massive universe all centering around this planet of Beurkratti and the people who live upon it. Some stories are small while others are much larger in scope.

Moor Mother — The Great Bailout (ANTI-)
Tumblr media
Camae Ayewa, aka Moor Mother, has a genuine claim towards being one of the busiest artists working today. Over the past five years she has taken part in more than ten albums, with sounds spanning unpredictable hip-hop experimentation to free jazz odyssies. The Great Bailout represents yet another left turn, taking sonic inspiration from glitch and concrete poetry and working with noise veterans such as C. Spencer Yeh and Aaron Dilloway to put together something truly haunting. On this record, Moor Mother bears witness to centuries of violence, death and horror at the hands of European colonialism and white supremacy. She spits its debris back at the listener and forcing us to contend with our ability to remain nonchalant in its seemingly never-ending cycle.
The first thing heard on this record is not Ayewa, but rather the intonations of Raia Was and Lonnie Holley over the twinkling harp of Mary Lattimore. Was’ fluttering vocals could not contrast more with Holley’s powerful warble, but both convey the dread and weariness that come with continuing to survive in a society that offers nothing but death in return. Three minutes into the track, Ayewa sets the scene for the rest of the record: “Taxpayers of erasure, of relapse, of amnesia, paying the crimes off.” This is perhaps the condition of being an everyday citizen, living in a state that never shook off the ghosts of colonialism, if it ever even tried in the first place. On “ALL THE MONEY,” over an ominous dub-inflected beat, Ayewa lists off British national landmarks and the years they were established, building up to the British Museum, one of the world’s largest resources of stolen cultural landmarks. “They heard about the kingdoms of gold,” Ayewa states. “They heard about the books of mathematics, philosophy and rituals.” The title of the album could be interpreted a number of different ways, but in this context it is clear that Europe stole so much from Africa to bail out its own moral and spiritual failures.
One of the highlights of the album is “LIVERPOOL WINS,” which features Aaron Dilloway contributing a typically clattering, ugly backing track. “Payouts, bailouts, just enough to build the city, a country, an infrastructure, a financial revolution, a stronger christianity, a whiter God, a period of enlightenment,” lists Ayewa. “Who builds death like this?” This question resonates through the entire record. Towards the end of the record “SOUTH SEA,” featuring the contributions of Chicago jazz mainstay Angel Bat Dawid and her vocal group Sistazz of the Nitty Gritty, feels like a requiem for what’s been lost, both material and immaterial, in the fray of colonialism. “How many have to be slaughtered in front of you before you choke on your own tears?” Ayewa asks. “Before your brain convinces you that you are already dead and if you are still breathing, you shouldn’t be?” It’s difficult to listen to these questions without thinking of horrific images from Gaza, Sudan and the Congo, all of which are stark reminders that the same forces that bailed out Europe are continuing to fuck up the world to this day. There isn’t a singular, clear message of hope on The Great Bailout, but in documenting the rage and despair built into life under such a ugly and evil system, Moor Mother has provided something just as valuable — if not more so— in understanding the struggles of the present day.

I’ll take my reparation payment in the form of Boone Hall Plantation, please.
Boone Hall is a sprawling plantation located in Charleston County, South Carolina. Today, it offers tours so the curious can get a glimpse of what it was like during antebellum days when Black people were enslaved and white people got richer than Midas from their free labor.
Small Town Horror: The Story of the Largest African Burial Ground in the U.S.
The place is so scenic Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively got married there. Not sure how they didn’t know about the beatings and rapes that likely took place there during slavery, but they’ve since said they’re very, very sorry for using a place of horror as a wedding venue.
I grew up not far from Boone Hall, and it’s likely that ancestors on my father’s side of the family were enslaved there.
I’d like the current owners of the plantation to give it to me. After all, how much would it ever have been worth without the back-breaking labor of my ancestors?
I figured I’d just throw out my pitch for Boone Hall because there are murmurs in the country about trying to find a way to make reparations for that bad slavery thing.
U.S. Rep. Cori Bush of Missouri has legislation that would give $14 trillion to Black Americans to compensate them for the brutal enslavement of their ancestors. Bush and other backers of that legislation want the country to at least discuss reparations - and it’s a discussion I and many other Black Americans would welcome.
But just as awarding Boone Hall to me isn’t quite workable, neither are cash payments to Black Americans to pay for the enslavement of their ancestors.
It’s not that $14 trillion isn’t a lot of money. It is. But it’s only about two-thirds of this country’s annual GDP.
Let’s see...246 years of slavery helped make the United States the most powerful and one of the wealthiest nations on Earth and me and the roughly 40 million other native-born Black Americans split two-thirds of the economic output from a single year.
That does not compute.
Indeed, there is no credible way to compute what would be owed if the country was serious about reparations. (And there is no indication that it is serious.)
How much is a life of enslavement worth in today’s dollars? The calculations can’t simply measure work output based on an eight-hour day. Slaves, we all know, worked ever so slightly longer than that each day.
And then there are the rapes. And the beatings. And the selling of a slave’s children.
How do you calculate centuries of forced illiteracy?
There is a real need for some national acknowledgement of the horrors of slavery and the economic impact it has to this day.
Since 1865, when the end of the Civil War brought emancipation, the economic head start white Americans had over their Black countrymen hasn’t been erased.
Research from the Rand Corporation shows that white Americans hold 10 times more total wealth than Black Americans. I dare say not all of that can be attributed to rap music or wearing your pants too low.
Something structural is at play here, and any solution would likely need to be far more systemic than a check. Think vastly expanded educational opportunities, expanded land and business ownership opportunities - AND a check.
I’m not sure what that reparations system needs to look like, but it needs to be broad and long-lasting.
Meanwhile, while we’re coming up with what could work, I’ll take Boone Hall. Washington Place has a much better ring to it, don’t you think?
Wayne Washington is an investigative reporter based in Florida.

More “making up a guy (Jin Guangshan) and hating him” hours from 30 Million Little Friends:
---
"The... payout from the Sunshot bonds." Wei Wuxian gritted his teeth, trying to get over the hideous discomfort of asking so blatantly. "I -- we got the document about it, but there was no transfer."
"Ah, yes!" Jin Guangshan nodded obligingly. "Did you know, Young Master Wei, that your account had grown to be the largest in the Alliance by the end of the Sunshot Campaign? All those special missions! Commander Nie really favored you, you know? It all adds up to quite the little nest egg!"
Favor? Wei Wuxian bit his tongue. It hadn't been favor that kept him running nonstop throughout the campaign, day after day after week, in blatant violation of the stringent downtime regs that Nie Mingjue enforced for everyone except him. There had been too many battles, too many missions that needed Wei Wuxian (and his thirty million little friends) too much to skip. Sure, Nie Mingjue had promised all sorts of bonuses and overtime to make up for it, but it hadn't been in his favor.
"Sure," he said instead of any of this. "So... can I cash it out now?"
"Oh, no, certainly not," Jin Guangshan said, still smiling.
What?

Is Apple Music a Goldmine for Independent Artists? Understanding Royalties and Longevity
For independent artists looking to carve out a place in the digital music landscape, the rise of streaming platforms has been a game-changer. Among these, Apple Music stands out as one of the largest and most popular platforms, with over 100 million subscribers worldwide. While the platform offers incredible exposure, many artists find themselves asking the same question: Is Apple Music a real goldmine for independent musicians? How do the royalty payments compare to other streaming platforms? And what can artists do to ensure their music has staying power, generating income not just in the short term but over the long haul?
In this article, we’ll explore the ins and outs of Apple Music from an independent artist’s perspective, with a focus on how its royalty system works and why ensuring the longevity of your tracks on the platform is key to building a sustainable income stream. By the end of this piece, you’ll have a deeper understanding of how to leverage Apple Music to its fullest potential, maximizing your exposure and revenue while keeping your music relevant for years.
1. How Apple Music Pays Independent Artists:
One of the most important things for any artist to understand is how Apple Music calculates its royalties. Unlike traditional methods of selling physical albums or digital downloads, streaming services like Apple Music pay artists based on the number of times their songs are streamed. However, these payments are not fixed per stream and can fluctuate depending on a variety of factors such as:
Subscription Type: Whether the listener is using a free trial, a family plan, or a premium subscription.
Region: Royalties can vary based on the listener’s country, as different territories have different payout rates.
Revenue Pool: The total amount of subscription fees collected by Apple Music is divided among all the artists, meaning your share of the royalties depends on how much your music is streamed in comparison to others.
On average, Apple Music pays between $0.006 to $0.01 per stream, which is significantly higher than some competing platforms like Spotify. While this might seem like a small amount, it can quickly add up with large numbers of streams. Independent artists, in particular, can benefit from the relatively higher payouts, especially if they own their own masters and don’t have to split royalties with a record label.
2. What Determines Song Longevity on Apple Music?
While earning royalties from Apple Music is crucial, it’s equally important to ensure that your music stays relevant and continues to generate income over time. Song longevity refers to how long a track continues to be streamed after its initial release. The longer your song remains in listeners’ rotations, the more revenue you can potentially earn.
Several factors contribute to song longevity on Apple Music, including:
Playlist Placements: Getting featured on popular Apple Music playlists can significantly increase your streams. Curated playlists often showcase a mix of new releases and established tracks, helping older songs continue gaining exposure long after their debut.
Engagement with Fans: Actively engaging with your audience on social media and promoting your songs across different platforms helps keep your music in the spotlight. Independent artists who consistently interact with their fanbase are more likely to maintain streams over time.
Music Videos and Visual Content: Accompanying your releases with music videos or visual content can help breathe new life into older tracks. Apple Music supports music video streaming, giving artists another avenue to promote their work.
New Versions or Remixes: Releasing a remix, acoustic version, or even a live recording of a popular track can bring it back into rotation on Apple Music and rekindle interest from both new and existing listeners.
3. Maximizing Visibility as an Independent Artist:
As an independent artist, competing with major label acts for attention can be daunting, but Apple Music offers several opportunities to increase your visibility. Here are some strategies to help you stand out:
Apple Music for Artists: This platform offers tools that allow artists to manage their presence on Apple Music, providing valuable insights into how listeners are interacting with their music. Independent artists can use this data to refine their promotional strategies, targeting regions and demographics that show the most engagement.
Editorial and Algorithmic Playlists: While major labels often have an inside track for getting their artists onto Apple Music’s editorial playlists, algorithmic playlists such as “For You” are largely based on user behavior. By encouraging your fans to like, share, and add your tracks to their personal playlists, you can increase the likelihood that Apple Music's algorithms will boost your music organically.
Collaborations: Partnering with other independent artists can help you reach new audiences. When both artists promote the collaboration to their respective fans, it can result in increased streams and broader exposure.
4. The Role of External Promotion:
While Apple Music is a powerful platform on its own, external promotion plays a critical role in sustaining long-term success. Here are some external tactics to ensure your music continues generating streams:
Social Media Campaigns: Regularly posting about your music on platforms like Instagram, TikTok, and Twitter can drive traffic to your Apple Music page. Use engaging content like behind-the-scenes videos, live performances, and fan shout-outs to keep people interested.
Cross-Promotion with Other Platforms: While Apple Music is important, promoting your tracks across multiple streaming platforms can increase your overall exposure. Many fans may have accounts on multiple services, so ensure you link to Apple Music whenever you share your music online.
Live Performances and Virtual Concerts: Live shows offer a great way to promote your music. Post-pandemic, virtual concerts have also proven effective at keeping fans engaged, with many artists linking directly to their Apple Music profiles during or after performances.
5. Can Apple Music Really Be a Goldmine for Independent Artists?
So, is Apple Music truly a goldmine for independent artists? The answer depends on several factors, including how well artists manage their promotional efforts and take advantage of Apple Music's tools and playlists. While the per-stream payout may not seem enormous, it is certainly higher than on other platforms, and with the right promotional strategies in place, independent artists can generate significant revenue over time.
However, the real value of Apple Music comes from its potential to introduce your music to a wide, global audience. For independent artists who rely heavily on digital distribution, Apple Music serves as a gateway to reaching listeners who might otherwise never encounter their music. By understanding the royalty system, working to maximize streams, and ensuring your music has staying power, independent artists can build a sustainable and profitable career on the platform.
Conclusion:
For independent artists, Apple Music can indeed be a goldmine if approached strategically. While the royalty system offers competitive payouts, the key to long-term success lies in ensuring your music’s longevity on the platform. By consistently promoting your music, engaging with your audience, and leveraging the tools available, independent artists can turn Apple Music into a steady revenue stream. If you’re looking to succeed on Apple Music, focus on building a strong catalog, investing in promotion, and keeping your tracks relevant for as long as possible.

Nationwide to complete 2.9bn Virgin Money takeover next month

The lenders said in statement to the stock market that the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) and the Bank of England’s Prudential Regulation Authority (PRA) have both approved the takeover. It comes after the building society agreed to the takeover of its London-listed rival in March. Nationwide struck the takeover deal with a 220p-a-share offer for Virgin Money, including a planned 2p-per-share dividend payout. The planned takeover will bring together Britain’s fifth and sixth largest retail lenders, creating a combined group with around 24.5 million customers, more than 25,000 staff and nearly 700 branches. But the move is set to ultimately spell the end of the Virgin Money brand, with Nationwide planning to rebrand the Virgin Money business as Nationwide within six years, although it will keep the two brands initially. On Friday, the banks said that “all relevant regulatory approvals have now been received” to push forward with the deal, having been cleared by the UK’s competition watchdog, the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA), in July. The deal will still need to be sanctioned in court, with a hearing due to take place on September 27. As a result, the deal is expected to formally complete on October 1, the banks said. What are the SEC and the Big Ten’s “long games”?
I think we all need to take a step back and see what is really going on.
Media driven realignment is all about extracting as much media money as possible and sharing it with as few schools as possible.
We have been in a realignment phase for quite a while and when that’s done we may even reach a contraction stage where conferences evict less valuable members.  I think, for example, that UT would love to evict schools like Ole Miss and Mississippi State and pocket an extra $10M a year from a likely identical sized money pool with 2 fewer mouths.
But I think it is just as likely that in the future schools sell their media directly to their fans when cable goes away.  In that reality, it is far more likely that power schools like UT walk away from playing schools like Alabama and build conference that are more sensible for their brand.  Maybe a Southwest conference 2.0.
Tumblr media
But honestly we are probably 15+ years away from that.
Today it is all about owning the largest share of whatever money you can milk from Cable content providers.  And one other thing.  Control.
The ability to steer all of athletics down pathways that favor your school.
This is the whole reason UT stayed in the Big 12 as long as they did.  To have control over lesser schools. (in terms of fan support.)
But Texas A&M might have passed UT.   They had passed them as the largest athletic budget in the country.  So UT encouraged OU to move with them to the SEC --- a conference UT is capable of dominating.   Now they are ---with apologies to Georgia and Alabama -- the biggest fish in one of the two most powerful conferences.
Money and control of the direction of college athletics.
With UT in the SEC, the 16 team SEC became not only the conference with a deathgrip on all the good recruiting grounds that used that to dominate college football on the field, they also for a time projected out as the most lucrative conference.
The Big Ten responded by raiding their partner conference the PAC 12 for their most valuable assets, USC and UCLA, and used their inclusion to not only get more media money per member school, but to also get a clause allowing them to add 6 more schools at the same rate.  Their 16 team conference is poised to become a 22-24+ team conference in the next 5 years.
“Anything you can do I can do better.”
This is a “check” move on the SEC.  It isn’t checkmate.  The Big Ten could pursue Oregon and Washington and screw up their game, but if they don’t, it could easily be checkmate.
Each Conference’s next step
To me, it is crystal clear that the Big Ten wants to add at least 6 and likely 8 schools from the 15 member Atlantic Coast Conference.
Which schools? in order of preference...
Tumblr media
I think that is what their money is intended for.  Given that The Big Ten revenue is Big Ten Network based, Adding these schools likely WILL increase Big Ten payouts.
And it will end the SEC chokehold on recruiting.
Such a move moves almost the entire ACC footprint into the Big Ten network footprint.  It takes the entire ACC and elevates it into being part of THE power conference.  It pushes more top talent in that footprint to those 6-8 schools AND it allow the two slumbering giants of the Big Ten (Michigan and Penn State) to pull the supplemental recruits to become annual top 7-10 recruiting classes and realistic title contenders.
I think Miami and Notre Dame are on board because it could help them quite a bit in recruiting too.  While FSU is not 100% on board, I think they see how it could help them too.
Who would it hurt?  ESPN and the SEC.
There is NO way for either to counteract this move, once it is made.
And more, I am not convinced that it isn’t the final step for the Big Ten.  I could easily see them adding Cal, Stanford, Washington, Oregon, Arizona, Arizona State, Colorado, and Utah to get to 32.   Again, adding those markets with the Big Ten Brands would pay for itself.
I could see them dividing into 4 divisions, each providing a legit national title caliber champion to face off against Alabama or Georgia.
More to the point their conference would be a peer to the SEC in all ways with twice the membership.   The Pac/Big Ten Alliance would dictate to the SEC all decisions in college football.
That is checkmate.
The SEC alternative.
...is based on a lot of longshots in my opinion.  The SEC is in the position they are in because they are the favored sons of ESPN.  Well.... ESPN has shit on a lot of other conferences.
The SEC has to hope that ESPN will propose moving Florida State, UNC, Clemson, and Virginia into the SEC at the current SEC payouts and then offer the rest of the ACC the current ACC amount and hope they go for continuing on in essential indentured servitude at a below market rate.  Miami, UNC, Virginia, Georgia Tech, Pitt, and Duke are not going to go for that.
That puts ESPN in a position where they need to HOPE that the Big Ten will crack the ACC open somehow --- 8 members voting the conference out of business? And that FSU will have a change of heart and decide at the last second to join the SEC with Clemson.
That could happen, but might not, and doesn’t really solve the SEC’s problem.
The SEC would be at 18.  The Big Ten would be at 23 with the ability to add USF and have pretty much the same position.
The Big Ten would still have more money per school and the ability to expand to 32 at that peer per school rate.
Maybe ESPN could spring to add schools like NC State and Va Tech and meet SEC payouts, but realistically, I think that 18 is ESPN’s ceiling.
That doesn’t change the narrative.
UT will never agree to take a pay cut to add NC State or West Virginia.  UT will pull their allies and bail for the Big Ten first.
Likewise Alabama and Georgia will never take paycuts when UT does not.
This means the only way the SEC can expand is ESPN footing the bill.

The lottery: Which states’ residents spend the most on tickets and scratch-offs?
The lottery: Which states’ residents spend the most on tickets and scratch-offs?
The people of Massachusetts, more so than any other state, are really itching to spend their cash on scratch-offs and lottery tickets.Get more news about custom lottery tickets, you can vist our website!
That’s one of the major takeaways from a new study conducted by LendingTree, which sought to determine which states’ residents spend — and lose — the most cash on lottery games per capita.
The study, based on lottery data from the U.S. Census Bureau 2020 Annual Survey of State Government Finance, found that residents of Massachusetts spent a whopping $805.30 cents per capita on lottery and scratch-off tickets that year. For perspective, New York —where residents spent the second-most on lottery tickets in the country — had a per capita average of $455.93, according to the study.
Rhode Islanders, Georgians and Michiganders rounded out the top five, spending an average of $429.88, $429.51, and $408.51, respectively, per capita in 2020. In addition to buying spending the most on lottery tickets, Massachusetts residents also spent the largest percentage of their income on these games when compared with the rest of the country: For every $1,000 of personal income, Bay Staters spent an average of $10.26 per capita trying to hit the lottery jackpots in 2020, the study suggests.
Somewhat surprisingly, the residents of Massachusetts weren’t the biggest lottery losers in the country. When comparing sales to payouts, lottery players in Rhode Island won back only $148.25 after spending an average of $429.88, for a net loss of 281.63 per capita. West Virginians lost about $249.81 per capita, while folks in Massachusetts lost around $244.49.
“If you only play the lottery occasionally and only spend a few dollars a time, no real harm is done,” said Matt Schultz, the chief credit analyst for LendingTree, in a statement that probably comes as no surprise to the people of Rhode Island or Massachusetts. “However, if you’re consistently playing $10 or $20 or more each week, that adds up over time. You’re dropping more than $1,000 a year on lottery tickets if you play just $20 per week. That’s real money that could be earning interest and growing your wealth or bulking up your emergency fund instead.” On the other end of the spectrum, the states where residents spent the least on lottery games in 2020 (aside from Alabama, Alaska, Hawaii, Nevada and Utah, where there currently are no state lottery programs) included North Dakota ($32.24 per capita), Wyoming ($40.97), Montana ($58.62), New Mexico ($63.83) Oklahoma ($71.23), according to LendingTree’s analysis.
Across all states, U.S. residents considered among the “baby boomer” generation were also found least likely to play the lottery at all, with only 51% saying they buy some sort of lottery ticket, according to a LendingTree survey of over 2,000 U.S. adults. Gen Zers were somewhat more likely at 55%, while millennials and Gen Xers were found to be the most likely to play, at 64% and 66%.
