Get To Know Store Manager Verse Eddie
What story is he from? What kind of story is it (Fix-it fic, Older!Eddie, Rockstar!Eddie etc)? My Eddie I'm going with it my original Eddie from Store Manager Verse. It's a sort of EveryoneLives! NoUpsideDown! Amalgam where Eddie works at StarCourt Mall and he meets a New Romantic interest in the Claire's Store Manager.
What inspired you to write this Eddie? I've worked retail forever and the horrors but then I moved to corporate. New job, no customers. But corporate teams usually go into the field and help during Q4 and especially in the special...department I work in? Christmas 2022 really made me ask "what if little Store Manager Jo had an Eddie who worked at her mall and she had a crush on him" and SMVerse was born.
What are your favorite headcanons about him/share something you never shared in your story? In my story, he had friends in his first stint through high school/senior year that left him behind and broke up the band. Then Corroded Coffin 2.0 was born with Jeff, Gareth, and Unnamed Freak (who I named Dave). Now that he's approaching a potential graduation with Jeff and some of them aren't...he's worried about Jeff leaving first, but the others shortly after. And then his band will have broken up a second time and what will he do then?
What does he wear on a casual day? On a dressier day? What does he wear to bed? Casual Day: Jeans, T-shirt, Flannel optional based on the weather. Jacket/Vest combo if he's going out. Dressy Day: Bought a nicer button down from Montgomery Ward, sleeves are rolled up, a few buttons undone. He's got the least offensive graphic tee he owns underneath it. Leather Jacket on top, no vest. (There's a Regional Manager visiting Tape World. Kyle is wearing a suit. He also bought sunglasses for all the guys to wear inside secret service style.) Pajamas: Summer, underwear only. Spring/Fall, no shirt, and either flannel pj bottoms or there's a pair of sweats that he's cut into shorts. Winter: Hoodie, sweats, thick socks
Favorite foods? Mountain Dew, Zebra Cakes, Pizza, Watergate salad. End of story. He also likes how reader makes pasta.
Tell Us About His Family/Friends I intentionally left it vague. Mom dead dad in jail, the usual. In SMVerse, Reefer Rick was his mom’s boyfriend for a short amount of time. That’s when things were really looking up in his life. He had a father figure (aside from Wayne) who loved and cared about him with no familial obligations. Mom was working, Rick obviously selling, Wayne working either driving or at the plant. It’s a mutual aid situation. Then his mom dies and Wayne and Rick share as much responsibility as possible because neither of them can do it alone. Wayne and Rick are both Vietnam war veterans? I don’t history good. So they have the benefit of being from the same down and going through the same shit and then they need to raise a kid they both love more than life. And he in turn would do anything for them.
Yeah Yeah, he's a Metalhead. Tell Us MORE About His Taste in Music in your story Oh GOD. Listen. He’s a fucking asshole about his music but if you’re respectful, he’ll be respectful. (If you’re his friend though, it’s extra disrespect). Aside from metal, he does enjoy the classics. He has some rock, he’s got some blues. His mom’s favorite were the Monkees and he listens to that tape to be close to her.
Eddie and Store Manager are currently in my WIPs listening to music and getting high. Stay tuned.
What are his views on romance? On sex? Sex is casual to him. It’s nice to feel nice. He’s slept with a few people, at parties where he’s made sales. He had a “girlfriend” that he thought was a girlfriend who was actually trying to get close to his friend Mickey. Kind of made him a little jaded. All of that to say, that specific event made him hesitate with saying anything to Store Manager. She reminds him SUPERFICIALLY of someone who hurt him and it’s easier to pine and keep her at arms length as a friend than potentially get hurt.
Is he optimistic or pessimistic? Pessimist. Next.
Where or with whom is he most comfortable? He’s most comfortable in his van. Home is home but is it really home? Wayne’s rarely there. Rick’s would have been home if his mom was still alive. He likes being with his friends and he is mostly with them at school which…blah. Or in the van.
What are his views of his future? What are his hopes/dreams? Music!!! music music music. He would like to be a musician and SPOILER he’s gonna be. Just not the fantastical rockstar we would wish for him. But he’s also debating what his future looks like as it pertains to Tape World. He likes it there. He likes being part of a team. Working with them, working with Kyle…he’s very much questioning what he wants.
Anything else you'd like us to know about your Eddie/your story? He’s the softest Eddie I’m gonna write. With the nicest future I think. He’s been dealt the easiest card out of all of them. No Upside Down. Got to have the most ideal childhood given his circumstances. AASB Eddie is harder for obvious reasons. STFF is going to be hard in his own way. But SMV!Eddie is the sweet boy we all need. He’s the sweet boy I need.

I'm surprised you haven't just ditched clothes altogether and resorted to just accepting you'll leave a trail of your own piss and shit behind you like the gross, slobby landfill you've become...
*Landfill?! hfff hfff hff You're really trying to get me mad hfff aren't you? It's too bad I'm such a composed wheeeeeze hunk to take the bait.
*Hear that elevated heartbeat? That heavier and heavier breather? Yeah you're getting him worked up no doubt about it. His face drips with sweat and those pit stains get ever deeper. Speaking of clothes he's made a real downgrade. Ever since he started slipping into total obesity territory he's switched from fancy suits and the latest brands to brands like Gamer Butt and Doublewide to afford to stay clothed. Besides he's been off television for....years now? Why bother to wear anything beyond roll hugging casual wear. Nobody will notice that the only pants you wear are track pants, sweats, and those stretchy shorts. Or those hoodies, ill fitting tees, and of course track jackets to compete the whole "wash up in a tracksuit" combo. He's of course going through these at an accelerated rate not only cause of those gradual gains but thanks to a torrent of grease, sweat, piss, and dung making them a health hazard to wear out. It's fine though he can rock any outfit can't he?

please I need to know what kind of clothes tbaw!Jean and tbaw!Eren wears.....
god, what a fun question!
wall of text below
at work, they dress pretty similarly. i see eren wearing just basic black suits with a dress shirt and tie, but i imagine that he ditches the suit jacket pretty much right away when he gets to work and often just walks around without it. his suits are probably a little ill-fitting because he just buys them off the rack and doesn't take the time to have them tailored.
jean i could see in suits as well, but he's more fashionable. he'd wear grey and dark blue suits or he'd rock the turtleneck and suit combo. definitely the type to wear fun patterned socks.
lounging around the house they're also similar. sweats and a t-shirt/no shirt. probably barefoot lol eren loves wearing those super-tight, athletic compression shirts because they show off his body without him being topless
casually, eren dresses very comfy in like big hoodies and cotton shorts, sweats, oversized t-shirts. i feel like he mostly owns athletic clothing so he's always got something comfy on and it's always baggy on him. if he's dressing to impress he'll just wear a plain black or white t-shirt and some jeans.
despite his mild obsession with the gym/his body, i think he doesn't really like to show it off unless he's at home, so he kinda hides himself in baggier clothing. the only part of his body that he highlights is his biceps with t-shirts that are tighter-fitting around the arms.
for jean, i think he has two different sides when it comes to casual clothes. when he's hanging out with the core four, he'll stick to simple outfits like jeans and a t-shirt with a plaid or a hoodie or some kind of combo like that. in my head, jean is very Canadian lmao so i imagine him wearing a lot of plaid. carharts. timberland boots.
HOWEVER because of his rich upbringing, he also has a lot of preppy clothes lol like linen pants or loose-fitting tops. very "vacationing on my daddy's yacht" vibes.
i also imagine that jean LOVES sunglasses and designer watches and probably has a mini-collection of them. eren probably has a shoe collection with like fancy sneakers to match his comfier vibe.

modern au senses of style
as always, just my favourite characters (will probably continue updating this)
MONDSTADT (travellers get put here since they arrived in this country 1st)
aether: mainly casual; hoodies, jeans, croptops+shorts, likes hair accessories (esp flower crowns) and jewellery; mainly goes for warm/neutral colour schemes
lumine: preppy; casual slacks, collar shirts, crewneck sweaters, sometimes earrings; mainly goes for neutral colour schemes
venti: loves shorts and crop-tops, hoodies, and bucket hats; loves pastel colours (but also absolutely rocks darker colour schemes)
LIYUE
hu tao: mainly goes for casual/prep; shorts, hoodies, rings, and slacks are her jam (w/the occasional croptop); prefers darker/neutral colour schemes with pops of warm colours
yanfei: preppy bordering on almost formal; unironically wears suits to class, loves earrings as well; prefers pastels and neutrals
zhongli: semi-formal (most casual he ever manages is preppy); unironically wears suits almost daily, also likes earrings; only has neutrals/darker palettes
xiao: heavily prefers techwear (for comfort tbh); hoodies, windbreakers, combat boots, rings, and cargo pants are his jam; almost exclusively wears black with neon/silver highlights
beidou: athletic wear and techwear; mostly just athletic clothing but loves shorts in general (she's the person wearing shorts when it's snowing), techwear is her dressing up; doesn't care too much to coordinate palettes but has a bias for darker, warmer colours
xingqiu: preppy and semi-formal; has joined the "unironically wears suits to school" club, and is obsessed w/collar shirts; loves the colour combo blue and gold (prefers darker blues)
chongyun: casual and techwear; practically lives inside hoodies (wears cropped ones on hot days) and cargo pants; also likes blue+gold combo but prefers lighter blues (he and xingqiu became friends after realising they were accidentally matching one day at school)
INAZUMA
ei: preppy, casual; mainly likes sweaters (most of her clothing has traditional inazuman elements); favours purples, gold, and sometimes pink or white (usually to match Miko or Makoto (yes Makoto lives in this au))
yae miko: preppy, lolita; always goes all out on aesthetic, even if it tends to be simple; mostly wears pinks and whites but also goes for purples/reds to match Ei
kujou sara: techwear, prep; more concerned w/practically than style; favours darker purples or black (often adds touches of red and/or gold)
kazuha: favours traditional inazuman wear, casual, and sometimes athletic or tech- wear; loves his clothes to be looser but not oversized; tends to go for oranges, whites, and browns

omg i cant believe ive never heard of those beforeㅠㅠ they're such cute ideas! then i guess i'll request a match up for MCU or TASM!
My preferred pronouns are he/they and im bisexual with a slight preference for guys. now for organizing the mess that is me..
personality: I'm pretty introverted, but once im talking to people im comfortable with i can get super talkative. I love thinking about philosophical or spiritual things, and asking questions with no real answers. I also love talking to other people about those things. I'm really open minded and always try to see things from as many different angles as possible to try to get a better understanding of the universe. im pretty confident, but i also don't like myself? its a weird combo. im also super competitive. if im not the best at something, i will get frustrated and extremely jealous of people who are better than me. when that happens though, i calm myself down by reminding myself its just my insecurities and its okay to not be the best. ive been told that im a good listener. i will sit there and listen to any of your problems and offer advice or a shoulder to cry on only if thats what you want, or i can just be there for you. and im daydreaming about 99% of the time..
hobbies/what do i like?: I love drawing. anytime i have freetime at home or at school, ill end up sketching something on my ipad or on a piece of paper. all of my assignments are covered in doodles, as are my hands. i also love singing and will belt out musical numbers (tick tick boom, dear evan hansen, be more chill, etc) all day long. i also really like reading, especially fantasy or romance books! or books that make you question life and your morals. i listen to a lot of music, mostly indie/rock or musicals (as mentioned earlier). i like most artsy things, really. i whittle a little, sculpt things, paint on clothes, and im always willing to try something new in that regard. OH and i loove playing instruments! i can play the piano, violin, ukulele, and guitar, and they're definitely hobbies for me.
what do i look like?: i'm short. 5'3 (sobbing in ftm), really short hair (think kpop guy idol), brown eyes, cool skin tone, and weirdly muscular shoulders? I like jewelry; always have a ring or two on, bracelets, a necklace, and two piercings on each ear (on the lobe). i wear jeans, sweaters, hoodies casually but also blazers, long coats, and suit jackets when im feeling it. love me a good pair of doc martins.
I wrote a lot more than i thought i would.. sorry about that? but i also hope extra info wouldve been more helpful? anyway, thanks! and have a great day<33
Hey, the more info, the more detailed I can make this :)
I match you with...
Tony Stark
Tumblr media
I hesitated between Tony and Gwen Stacy for a bit, but since you have a preference for guys, I went with Tony.
The two of you are both the type to project confidence but beneath the surface are actually quite insecure, so you two hype one another up!
Since this is the guy who invented time travel, you can definitely count on him talking philosophy with you. He's a little less spiritually inclined, but then again: he's friends with a literal god.
Be careful about what kind of question with no real answer you ask because Tony will go out of his way to find an answer. Like, he'll prove the existence of some kind of obscure paradox and call it a weekend project.
But this actually works pretty well, because Tony likes knowing things and you make him think of things he had never even considered before.
If he comes up with a new idea for a suit or something, he'll ask you to sketch it because Tony wouldn't be able to draw a stick figure to save his life.
Discussing your favourite rock bands together.
Tony is insanely jealous of the fact that you can play multiple instruments while he never even managed to play one.
Being short sucks (trust me, I know lol) but it does mean that you can steal his band shirts and claim them as your own, which makes it bearable.
You've definitely sat through many a frustrated rant, but he always apologizes for bothering you with them. It takes a lot of convincing to get him to belief you really don't mind.
However, that doesn't mean he doesn't try to make it up to you. So uh, if you're allergic to anyhting, make sure he knows ;)
There you go, I hope you enjoyed it! Thank you for requesting, and have a lovely day/night :)

Best and worst dressed characters
Not counting physical appearance, i.e. skin tone, body type, natural hairstyle
(Disclaimer: This is NOT an indication of my feelings about the characters. Everything in this post is strictly my opinion.)
The Freshman/The Sophomore
Best: MC
Even the free outfit options are super cute. She’s adorable and rocks everything. End of story.
Worst: Zig
I loved his white tee in the first few books, but once TS came out, he’s started wearing the stereotypical “bad boy” leather jacket and an ombré shirt. Yikes.
High School Story
Best: Aiden
I love how everyone changed outfits in book 2 and he’s still sticking with the old black sweater/white collared shirt combo. It complements his personality perfectly.
Worst: Emma
Her book 2 outfit is a random pastel hoodie that looks like it came from the kids’ section at Ross. However, the red striped tee from book 1 was cute.
The Royal Romance
Best: Olivia
Literally would look good wearing a dress made of toilet paper.
Worst: MC
Every sexy scene when she gets her clothes off, I have to look at that ugly blue lace granny bra. It makes me cringe.
The Rules Of Engagement
Best: Mira
Even though she rarely dresses up, Mira’s looks are very versatile. She can pull off the “stuffy restaurant owner” look and the “sexy clubgoer” look. A goddess.
Worst: Nerdy! twin
Has been wearing the same itchy, slate-gray sweater for 4 books. Honestly, a mess.
It Lives In The Woods
Best: Britney
Rocks a simple pale pink tee/jean jacket. Always looks adorable.
Worst: Lily
Honestly where do I start. Her sweater looks like it’s for toddlers, and the Shirley Temple curls make her look like an overgrown child. Also, the bow. 0/10.
Worst: Ava
I’m really sick of characters dressing like their stereotypes. Super dark eye makeup, witchy earrings, fishnet tights, pentagram necklace... wayyy over the top.
Hero
Best: Eva
She looks smoking in everything.
Worst: Kenji
The ketchup and mustard palette makes me cry. Hot-dog lookin ass
Worst: MC
All of her outfit options are terrible, even the diamond ones.
LoveHacks
Best: Aiyana
Pulls off a casual boho indie-chic. Everything she wears matches her personality to a t.
Worst: Mark
Dresses like a 40 year old suburban dad. Will he ever buy a shirt that isn’t plaid? Who knows
Endless Summer
Best: Quinn
The jean shorts/oversized white button-down makes her look carefree and aloof. What a precious girl.
Best: Raj
His t-shirts make me giggle every time I see them. Legends only
Worst: Grace
Not a fan of the bright orange sweater. She looks great in it, but the piece itself is not cute.
The Crown & The Flame
Best: Sei
The ultimate ensemble of badassness, complete with a silver fox draped around her neck. Killing the medieval human-dragon fashion game.
Best: Annelyse
I feel like she would be offended if I didn’t include her. Always looks like a shimmery golden princess. Hair is perfect 24/7, even mid-battle.
Worst: Tevan
I can’t even describe how much his clothing makes me gag. The dark purple, the cape, the random cuffs and buttons. Creepy as hell. Makes me not wanna trust him.

How to Wear a Denim Jacket
Tumblr media
It took Levi Strauss a decade after creating the world’s first blue jeans to realize that the material that worked so well to clothe a man’s lower half, also worked brilliantly to outfit his upper half as well.
The modern man needn’t take so long to make that leap.
Denim not only makes for some of the best-looking and easy-wearin’ pants, it also makes for a handsome and rugged jacket.
140 years after first outfitting men who worked on railroads and ranches, the jean jacket continues to serve as functional, low maintenance outerwear; its durable material provides decent protection to one’s arms and torso, doesn’t wrinkle, takes a beating, and lasts for the long haul. Light in weight, it’s a great jacket for those just-a-bit-chilly days that mark the seasons of spring and fall.
With a collar and a structure that typically tapers to the waist, the denim jacket also creates a more masculine silhouette and adds to the visual appeal that arises from layering in ways that faintly echo a sports jacket, but with an entirely different vibe — casual, rebellious, oppositional-to-the-suits. Thrown over a t-shirt, it instantly adds a lot more interest to an otherwise basic get-up.
Given these assets in function and form, why are guys often hesitant to make what is really a rather simple staple of menswear part of their wardrobe?
The fact that the denim jacket is associated with miners, cowboys, truck drivers, and rockers adds to its iconoclastic appeal, but at the same time, guys may worry that its tough and cool legacy might not sit comfortably on their shoulders; they don’t want to look like a wannabe or have the jacket come off as “costumey.” They also don’t want to look like a hipster who’s trying too hard to channel the ethos of blue collar workwear. Or maybe a fella just associates the jacket with the 1980s and wonders if they’re still in style.
Well, the good news is that these hang-ups needn’t be an issue: a denim jacket can suit a man whether or not he swings a hammer or slays a guitar, can be adopted in a way that’s both natural and sharp, and when worn well, will always be, no matter the decade, perennially in style.
Choosing a Denim Jacket
Tumblr media
No matter the era, the denim jacket remains a sweet sartorial staple.
If you’d like to add a denim jacket to your closet, choosing one comes down to thinking about two main qualities: fit and color.
Fit. As with all garments, fit is king with the jean jacket. You don’t want the jacket to either be too baggy, nor too tight. A well-fitted jacket should exhibit the following qualities:
Fits over the thickest top you plan to wear it with.
Can be buttoned up without tightness or pulling when worn over a t-shirt (denim jackets are not commonly buttoned up, but can be; if you do button up, still leave at least the top and bottom buttons undone).
Fabric hangs down in straight planes.
Bottom hem hits at about the hips; the denim jacket is a shorter jacket, and the bottom hem shouldn’t extend much past your beltline, with about the middle of your fly/upper thigh being the longest it should fall. However, the jacket shouldn’t be too short either; if it creeps up to your waistline and above, it will look too cropped, and begin to approach a more feminine style of jean jacket.
Ends of sleeves hit a little past the bends of the wrists, but don’t extend past the creases of the thumbs.
You’re able to cross and swing your arms comfortably; if you find denim fabric feels too constricting (this can be the case with darker and raw denim; lighter washes will typically be pretty soft), look for a jacket made with a bit of stretchy material added to the cotton fabric.
Color. While denim jackets are available in a variety of colors these days, blue is the most classic and versatile. Of blue jackets, their “formality” ranges along with the washes of their denim. All jean jackets are inherently very casual, but one made with a dark wash denim will be slightly “dressier,” while one with a light wash denim will be the very most casual. A medium wash sits right in the middle and is arguably your best pick — it’s versatile, classic-looking, and soft.
What to Wear With a Denim Jacket
Denim jackets aren’t versatile in the way sports jackets are — unlike the latter, they can’t be dressed up or down to meet the requirements of just about every dress code. While some very fashion-forward sartorialists will put a jean jacket over a dress shirt and tie (and even a waistcoat), the contrast between the more formal underlayer and the very casual outerwear is too jarring to make for a good look.
Denim jackets are versatile, however, in that they pair well with most every other garment that resides in the casual category of your wardrobe. These pairings can still be more or less ideal, however, and we’ll delineate that spectrum below.
On Bottom
The one rule you’ve probably heard about wearing a jean jacket is to never do “double denim”; that is, you shouldn’t wear a denim jacket on top of denim jeans. The result of this pairing is what’s called the “Canadian tuxedo,” named after an incident in the 1950s, when Bing Crosby was banned from a swanky Canadian hotel for wearing an all-denim get-up, and the Levi’s company responded by making him an entirely denim tuxedo to rock.
The reason that “double denim” is considered a faux pas is that when your denim jacket and jeans are too matchy-matchy, it looks like you’re wearing a weird pseudo suit. But avoiding this combo isn’t a hard and fast rule. While it’s more difficult to pull off well, you can wear a denim jacket with jeans, as long as you make sure there’s a good amount of contrast between the two pieces. That is, instead of wearing a medium wash jacket with medium wash jeans, you wear a darker jacket with lighter jeans, or vice versa. You can also wear jeans in a color other than blue — black or charcoal can look good with a denim jacket.
And you know what, if you’re a little daring, you can even break the rule entirely and wear a jacket and jeans that are close in color. I do! I just like my so-called Canadian tuxedo, and don’t care if it’s “wrong.” I guess that’s the rebel in me, eh?
If you’re not sure if you can pull off double denim, or just don’t like the look of it yourself, it’s best to just heed the proscription against it. Below are common and safe guidelines for how to clothe your lower half while wearing a denim jacket, with options ranked from less to more ideal:
Poor:
Dress trousers (too much high low/contrast)
Jeans that closely match the color of your jacket
Alright:
Jeans in a color that contrasts with the jacket
Joggers
Best:
Chinos/khakis (in brown, tan, olive, gray, etc.)
Corduroys
As far as your footwear goes, think casual: canvas/leather/suede sneakers, leather boots, chukkas, etc.
On Top
Tumblr media
When it comes to what to wear under your denim jacket, a single layer is often all you need; while additional layers can be interesting, you don’t want to or need to add much bulk under a denim jacket. A thin base layer will let the jacket hang comfortably, and without constriction. Jean jackets just lend themselves to a more simple, “spare” look too.
Below we break down your underlayer choices from unadvisable to can’t-miss:
Poor:
Button-up dress shirts (too formal)
Technical-fabric workout shirts (too casual, even for a denim jacket, with a shiny texture that doesn’t complement the jacket’s matte ruggedness)
Chambray button-downs (while chambray is technically a different fabric from denim, it looks close enough to it to make this another iteration of “double denim”)
Alright:
Sweaters (some thin and very casual sweaters can work, but many can look funny under a jean jacket)
Polos (an okay pairing, but the preppy nature of the shirt clashes a bit with the jacket’s more rough-n-ready vibe)
Button-down shirts (in a very casual workplace, a jean jacket can serve as almost a kind of sports jacket substitute when worn over a button-down; a checkered print is a nice look here)
Best:
T-shirts (of all kinds, but the plain white tee is an especially classic choice)
Long- or short-sleeve henleys
Hoodies (evinces a more “urban” look)
Flannel/plaid shirts
As you mix your bottom and top layers with your denim jacket, you can prevent your get-up from looking too “costumey” by avoiding pairing too many things from one “archetype.” For example, if you wear a flannel shirt under your jacket, don’t also wear leather work boots and a beanie. Or don’t wear a white tee under your jacket, along with black jeans, and black work boots, unless you’re a biker, or intentionally going for that look. Just let the jean jacket be a natural accompaniment to the other casual clothes you already wear.
A denim jacket makes a great addition to a man’s casual wardrobe — there’s a good chance that deep down you want one, so get one. And then start wearing the heck out of it. It only looks and feels better with age. Clothing is only as authentic as the real use you get out of it.

Trainer’s Favorite … Under Armour Gear
When it comes to workout gear, the choices seem endless, so we asked members of Under Armour’s trainer team to clue us into their favorites.
While I love all of my UA gear, especially the UA Breathe Open Back long-sleeve shirt, for my own training, I’ve always been impressed by the high-quality gear for kids. My son loves his UA Feature Puffer Jacket — it keeps him warm yet he can move around smoothly for hours while wearing it.
Try some of these finds and let us know your favorites.
The Trainer: Rich Hesketh of DECAMAN Athletics The Gear: UA Sport Wireless Heart Rate Monitor and Headphones Why: When I work out, I can monitor my training heart rates as well as recovery between intervals, circuits or sets. I also use the wireless ear buds for coaching during video phone training sessions with my athlete clients all over the world.
